ICS in Note
After upgrading to ICS via kies,
Battery seems to drain very fast.
Camera hangs up sometimes and other camera related apps like Instagram also but maybe the pic quality is little better.
It seems to crash when some other apps runs too.
Not sure if it was there before but I can pause music and video if I show my palm on the screen.
The screen rotates faster than in GB with a pause at the beginning though.
News fonts are good.
Window animations are good but still dont' know how to stop it since it might be draining battery fast.
Can use Chrome now and it's fast.

I cannot use Mass Storage Mode. I recieve a "Ui stopped to work" error.

I am facing,
1. High android OS usage. Sometime its higher than Brightness, and most of the time its highest usage of batt after brightness. (I read somewhere, it said its calculation errors, but I think its not, cause my battery no longer last that long.)
2. Camera will sometimes fail to operate. I really dunno what is wrong with that.
3. Phone just cant go into deep slp. Its being kept awake by some apps (Which I cant narrow it) Using BetterBatteryStats, I found out its I2_HSIC. (Whats this I2_HSIC ??)
I am using a 5400mAh mugen batt. previously on GB, my usage can last me 24hrs, now it can only last 16hrs or less. I installed lesser apps, and lesser widgets. Disable account sync and google backup. Settings more or less kept the same.
Overnight my batt can reduce by 21%, it never happened before. lol. ICS...

I have a bug I have not seen mentioned.
Occasionally, usually about 1 time per day, My phone display will start to flash, with random green and red colors. The screen I'm on, will flash those colors then star to shake and slide.
It looks like a television station not tuned quite right on an analog antenna (if anybody remembers that!)
I can't reproduce it regularly, but It think it has happened when going from an Application, back to the home screen using the home button.
I am on ICS, Taiwan, stock, not rooted.
Anybyody else seen this?

Indian ICS Stock Rom
1. Unable to zoom in yahoo mail
2. Junos Pulse frequentely not responding (Uninstalled)
3. Picture thumbnail view very slow
4. Battery draining
5. Network signal poor reception

I faced this issue with stock ICS (rooted) .
I opened the browser to html5test.com , and the screen filled up with lines (similar to a TV noise) . Turning off did not seem to work, so i did a battery pull.
Unable to reproduce the problem so far!

I can get the screen back by just waiting it out. Usually takes about 2 minutes. I sure do wish I knew what was happening, though, so I could confirm no damage was being done.

As far as #2 goes, go to your battery stats and see if "media" is listed. If so, force close it and try again. Seems to work for me. I'm not sure if it is just me or not because I have been playing with settings lately, but the media scanner tends to run wild it seems (also seems to lend to battery drain).
I am just disappointed that they left out some of the nice features of ics like the updated gallery and camera. Seems kind of lazy to me and no wonder things arent working well if they are mix and matching gingerbread and ics rather than going all in and starting development from there. I would definitely go back to using one of the non tw ics roms if it weren't for the sod issues I was having...

Indian stock Rom:
- Battery life seems to be strange as sometime drain is too high and sometime i feel it's better then it was on GB. yet to track the exact pattern but in either case no wireless, no gps, no Bluetooth and Brightness @ 10%.
- opening contacts taking few seconds but now search on exchange server is well integrated.
-i have enabled 'face unlock' and sometime it will not respond at all so keep doing lock/unlock till get restored.
.......and I am unable to find s-note application, i tried under system/app as well but as don't know apk name not sure. can someone help pls.

me too
I also got that green bands screen you describe. I held down the lock button til the phone rebooted. I think I was using the Dolphin Browser at the time.

1. Poor battery.
2. Sync errors: calendar sync freezes up every once in a while
3. Brightness slider in notification bar gone, tasker can not effect change of brightness anymore, only choice is to keep automatic brightness on, otherwise blinded out in sun.
4. Contacts and phone apps show up in 5s or more to load: need to switch to those ugly dialers, no choice at all
5. No widgets menu in app drawer as in nexus ICS
6. Launchers freezing: tried both nova and apex: many a times the screen went blank for a few seconds after hitting home (didn't crash though)

10 things that I hate about Gingerbread!

I really wonder why there is none of such thread here!
Gingerbread unfortunately brought only bad things to my Nexus. I already forgot why I was so crazy about installing it.
What feature did it introduce again?
Okay the response is much better and everything seems faster...but with lots of bugs?
That screen off animation? Seriously?
Things that I hate now:
- Battery Time: this is bad, can't even run half a day with lot of usage, b
efore I could listen to mp3's one day, ie. more than 4 hours without any problems...now
- Camera: either Cam or Video, the application crashes after I take a photo or video and then I can not connect to it anymore
- Gallery: often crashes, especially if you have an online photo account connected
- unlock screen: I use a pattern, often there is no overlay of what pattern I drag, still the screen can be unlocked
- Market: even if automatic updates activated, it only updates if you open the market and go to the "my apps" tab
- 3G and Wifi: if you are connected to wifi more than 15 minutes and then disconnect from it you do not get any 3G, you have to go to airplane mode and back, this bug appeared ages ago and was fixed, now back again...tells you a lot about their merging control, ie. sucks
- notification led: you know...
- apps: there are a lot of apps running even though I never used them since restart (see it in a task killer app)
- gps: on a random bases it tries to lock even though no app that uses gps is running
- phone reboot: it even rebooted without any notice two times since I installed it
(- Contacts: I still can't enter a simple thing like a birthday on an expensive phone like this)
MOD EDIT: Borderline trolling removed. If you switch OSes, that's your own choice. No one here is stopping you.
Got any troubles? Tell here.

4. Blank keyboard- fixed by switching to another keyboard and back again, or a reset
5. Blank Launcher- fixed with reset
6. In the stock SMS app a long press>delete conversation doesn't always delete the selected conversation; sometimes you have to do it twice.
As far as battery goes, my display is still the thing that takes up the most battery (which is normal) but I had been experiencing severe declines in battery life. Does the switch to 32-bit color require more processing power and therefore battery?
I *#*#4636#*#*>phone information and saw it was set to WCDMA preferred. I remember playing with the option when froyo came out but didn't remember what it was set to (Maybe Gingerbread reset the option...?). I changed it to GSM PRL (Auto), and have experienced increases in battery life, as my phone isn't hunting for 3G all the time- it uses a service provided list of tower locations.
The LED REALLY bugs me.
Hate about Gingerbread
No trackball wake
Juice Defender Doesn't work (but Green Power does - works well but with less flexibility than JD)
Short battery life
Useless keyboard selection gimmicks
- Market: even if automatic updates activated, it only updates if you open the market and go to the "my apps" tab

Well, glad to know mine isn't the only one that does this!!
On Froyo I would wake up in the morning to freshly updated apps that had updated automatically over night.
I have not had this happen a single time on Gingerbread, and nearly every time I go in to the market there are updates waiting.
What is the point of the automatic update feature when it doesn't work???

auto update never worked for me, even in froyo.
-Battery with CM7 roms
-Trackball wake blocked in non-CM7 roms
-More difficult to mod themes like statusbar (before we just had to change a png and now we have to edit a bunch of files)
So in summary GB roms are still not stable and complete, they have either TB wake missing or poor battery life too
My annoying issues?
- 2 second mic mute after I answer a call
- stock launcher choking after a while
Less annoying ones:
- Market does not automatically update apps
- gps activations without an apparent reason
My annoyances
In no particular order:
The cursor select triangle not lining up with the cursor
Launcher unresponsive/vanishing
Lockscreen pattern not showing (as in the OP)
Phone randomly stays awake at night
GPS turns itself off
Not able to view an apps wakelock any more
USB mount screen shows 'turn off' even when it isn't mounted (UK issue)
USB debugging icon doesn't appear, or doesn't turn off depending on how you enabled it
Exchange push is just crap now, I swear it's getting worse by the day

While I'm not a big Gingerbread lover at all, here are answers to some of the points:
Battery time is fine, at least in freshly installed ROMs it far exceeds what Froyo mastered.
Camera is your own problem - you didn't update radio, or your update went bad.
Gallery never crashed - again, your own problem (you get the feeling now, right?).
3G and WiFi - again, your own problem. No bug.
Apps - and why do you care? Isn't the "DO NOT USE TASK KILLER" thread clear enough? 150-200MB free RAM aren't self-explanatory?
Due to your comments, you might really consider switching to Apple. It would be beneficial both for you and for this forum.
Or you could back up user data, wipe, install new radio and bootloader, load fresh Gingerbread ROM (NOT CM7 or CM7-based), and have most of your points addressed.
Now, having said that, if you want a much better overall feel - install Froyo-based Desire port, or if you don't have any use for Hotspot - DesireHD port. I hate using barebone Android after some experience with it.
have you guys heard about Cyanogenmod ROM? I am using CM7 RC4 and I have no problems that anyone mentioned in this thread....
Maybe you haven't heard that your experience not necessarily represents anything.
For me (and another 2 guys that asked me to reinstall other ROM on their Nexus Ones), CM7 was a huge, awful pile of bugs. Starting with the ill-famous "wonk".
Plus, again, after having some SenseUI I don't really want to go back to plain Android, and wouldn't suggest it to anyone looking for a good overall experience.
I have an occasional problem with the application tray where it stutters, flashes and doesn't scroll properly. It seems to happen only after exiting certain apps, and needs the launcher to be force closed to fix.

Just lost all credibility in my book...
I would suggest the OP decides what features he/she wants in a ROM and then try a few different ones out. There are plenty to cater to all tastes and i'm sure they'll be able to find one that works well for them.
1. exchange sync stops syncing without any reason. can't start a manual sync. only reboot of the phone helps for a short period of time. needs a fix very urgently.
2. TINY TINY notification icons...the worst idea google had for the GB update. i cannot see the difference between the gmail and exchange mail icon on normal usage in example.
There are some more points which i also mentioned in my blog about gingerbread for nexus one:
http://smartphoneblogging.com/2011/03/review-android-2-3-3-gingerbread-for-nexus-one/
Thread Cleaned
Let's play nicely in here and keep this on-topic. This is not the place to discuss other operating systems. This is about issues pertaining to the OTA Gingerbread updates.
Thanks,
Your loving moderator.
One bug and one annoying change:
- The instability of the launchers. I hope they address this.
- The inaccessible GPS toggle. Tasker can't access it and neither can the toggle widgets. Why did they change this?
my mms sometimes does not send if i configure 2 APNs (one for mobile data and one for mms), while i disable the one for mobile data...
it's working fine on Froyo and CM6 before

QFT!!!!!!!!!!!!
Auto brightness adjustment no longer fades, now it just jump straight to the target brightness which is quite abrupt visually.
And of course... trackball wake is gone.
I concur with these points:
- Battery Time: this is bad, can't even run half a day
- Gallery: often crashes, especially if you have an online photo account connected
- Market: even if automatic updates activated, it only updates if you open the market and go to the "my apps" tab
- GPS: on a random bases it tries to lock even though no app that uses gps is running
- Creating shortcuts on desktop: sometimes you can't drag/drop icons to the desktop or to a different spot on the desktop.
- The cursor select triangle not lining up with the cursor
- Auto brightness adjustment no longer fades, now it just jump straight to full bright or full dim.
As for the people suggesting we update the radio and try different roms, while that is primarily what this board is about, it doesn't "solve" anything. This is a stock Nexus One with official everything. If it doesn't work then it doesn't work.

Upset with Bell Gingerbread update

I updated my phone to Bell Gingerbread 2.3.4 last week but it seems to me Froyo was much more responsive and was simply... better!
Here are the problems I've been dealing with:
-Scrolling the front pages from left to right on the home screens are not as fluid and the screen touch response seems it has a certain delay compared to Froyo.
-In the Music app, when you are in an Artist's album and you want to go back to the previous page (by clicking the back button), it directs you straight to the first artist on your list.
-The battery runs out faster
-The phone always has trouble getting 3G data connection when it enters an area that has network after being in an area without it.
-Updating apps from the market is soooo much slower than it used to be and it always messes up because the same app is downloading 3, 4, 5 times simultaneously...
-In the Gallery app, when in Landscape mode, let's say you scroll from right to left, you have to wait till the animation stops so that you scroll back the other way... If it hasn't stopped scrolling, it will not respond by swiping the other way.
-The start-up takes FOREVER to load and it always gets stuck about a minute or two in that "Dual-core Technology" logo...
-When calling someone, if you press the power button to avoid false contact between your face and the screen, when you finish talking and you want to press "End Call", you have to push the power button once more to re-open the screen.
I understand all those points are minor problems, but they're numerous and it upsets me that a phone with this much hardware capability isn't getting the proper update. I dunno, I just want to know if you guys have been dealing these problems as well, and if you know what I can do to fix them, it would be great!
Thanks in advance!!

the most upsetting one is the battery life. I could go for 2-3 days without recharging the phone. Now I can barely do 1 day. And I'm a really light user. I dont have data plan and just use wi-fi where availiable. I think its super weird that this update made the phone worse.
The only saving grace is the addition of zoom on camera and separate notification cancel. Thats about it.
I have not been facing any of these issues. For the battery, completely drain the battery until it dies and then charge it to 100% without unplugging it. Also, if you are a light user and are not on the phone all the time, I suggest using Maximum Battery Saver as the battery mode. Right now, I am running Bell GB with both suggestions, have 40% battery remaining and have been on the phone for over 16 hours on medium usage. I actually like the update quite a bit.

It's common knowledge. A lot of cache/files get left behind after an update that are no longer needed, or old copies when it should have new ones.
It's always recommended after you do an update from either OTA or Custom Rom that you do a factory reset to clear out any old data that might cause issues.
Titanium is one of the best. Doesn't backup your SMS though, so you'll need another app for that. And only restore the apps you've downloaded and their data. Don't restore any system apps or you'll be back in the same situation or worse.

Help..battery dead in 22 hours on standby?

So I had my a500 fully charged Saturday afternoon. I go to turn it on and its dead. Something is wrong here for sure because I use to go a week on standby. I posted some pictures of what my battery life looks like. Its a straight linear decline and I can't figure it out. I'm rooted, and thinking maybe I'm trying to receive the 3.2 update and I can't due to be rooted. I checked system update and it says I'm up to date. Please, any help?

Check to make sure your Bluetooth is turned off, and your wireless is set to disconnect when screen turns off.

From the pictures you've posted it does look like something is up. Awake time is supposed to coordinate more or less with Screen On time. That's a general rule of thumb. Background things will wake the tablet and work very briefly sometimes but it doesn't look like that and generally takes seconds, adding up to mere minutes in total over days of that behavior. In essence awake time is supposed to follow screen on time closely with mere pips in difference. Yours is pretty much solid.
You could be right about the update, though I don't see how or why it would cause that anomaly, since it doesn't try to check for the update if the wifi is off, and even if the wifi is on it doesn't download it unless you tell it to. Plus, you can always turn off the automatic/scheduled check entirely.
Other issues I can come up with are net' related (stuck weather update, account sync, browser sync, picture sync, etc.) but are all invalidated since your wifi use is not that bad. I'm thinking any of these would trigger your wifi to stay on.
What's left, perhaps a rogue task manager? Something that's killing a necessary task which is then quickly restarted and so the loop goes on till your battery dies. If I can think of anything else I'll post it.
My only recommendation for now is to stop any task manager you have running, as well as locale or tasker if you have those. Restarting and then seeing how things fare after a day of standby.
i have similar situation.......
battery drain on my HoneyVillain 1.2 with Richard's Kernel is unbelievable.
It is not keeping even a half day. With Honeycomb 3.1 or 3.0 it was much much better.
What i see right now:
- on the battery usage graph i see that "Screen" is eating 80% of the battery - is it correct???
- when i'm at work, where my tablet is connected only to internal WLAN Network (no internet access) - the battery is going down much slower
What i have installed (and running in background)
- exchange mails (3 accounts - push method) with exchange widget
- simple calendar widget
- asus weather widget
- extented controls
- hacker's keyboard
looks like i got the same issue

80% is harsh but I suppose that could be correct, especially if you use the tablet a lot. Following my own tablet as an example, at any point in time my screen takes more juice than anything else on the tablet. I have my screen set to 40%. Auto brightness isn't as sensitive as I like it so it always falls to maybe 60% when I'm fine with it at 40% or so so I manually adjust that while at home.
My screen follows my awake time almost to a T.
Wifi also does seem to be eating a bit more than it did in 3.1 - maybe Acer increased the transmit/receive power in the chips so people stop having wifi connect/disconnect issues? Who knows. I've always had my wifi on 24/7 and overall it never took more than 10% of the battery from full to dying. Now it's considerably higher, 15% or more depending on how much I use the tablet.
But that 80% is still more normal than the awake time posted by the OP.
Have you tried turning down the brightness or adjusting the timeout? Indoors 30-40% is fine for me though I can go even lower, especially when I'm in bed or in the living room and the lights are off in the area. Outdoors I set it to auto or to 50/60% depending on whether I'm using it in my car or during shopping. Also, setting the perfect timeout can matter too. I set mine to 1m, but a really good practice is to set it to 30s and just set your browser or media player to keep it awake while in use. I'm too lazy to do those things
Neoprimal, thanks for the response! I just got home from work, and come greeted with what I suppose is the 3.2 update(~357mb). Now I don't know if that is my issue or not but it could have been. I'm rooted but stock everything. Am I okay to download this 3.2 update?

Quick suggestion.
Try changing ROM maybe it will solve your problem.
Neoprimal, thanks for your answer.
I reflashed my iconia back to 3.1 - honeyvillain 1.05a and i have no more battery drain issue.
Screen battery usage is as well at level about 80% so as you said it seems to be normal.
I tried as well other 3.2 cooked roms like taboonay or revolver port - everywhere i got unbelievable high battery drain.
So for me it looks like 3.2 issue.
You can be right with higher wifi power consumption in terms of better signal with honeycomb 3.2.
With3.2i had all the times all stripes blue - with 3.1 signall seems to bea little weaker but anyways strong enough for the internet.

Hey Proxonic, as you can see it can't be a '3.2 issue' because I'm on 3.2 and I don't have the issue.

I barely used my tablet this week because my wife asked me to 'break in' her Touchpad. The brand new one she got had a massive screen problem and we didn't discover it until days later because she never used it much during the week. Pray this never happens to your A500!
Anyway, this is showing that I have my wifi off when the screen is off - the screen on times are generally when I use the tablet to start music, usually before heading to bed.
Most of the awake time is the music playing, but some is probably IM programs and apps looking for internet. I use either google music, pandora/tunein radio/iheartradio or 2player Network Music Player; the radios and 2player NMP use wifi while I've cached a couple playlist or 2 worth of google music to the tablet. I also ran a test for another thread where person(s) reported their Acer Media app turning music off when the screen goes off, I suspect that'd be that long block of awake time without wifi.
Point is though, that I don't think 3.2 has a battery drain issue. Not in regards to while the tablet is sleeping/hibernating anyway. It sounds like maybe you just have some app gobbling up either cpu cycles or something else causing it.
Glad you at least got it fixed with the ROM though.
P.S The touchpad screen, btw looks like this...keep in mind, this is on a good day. When it got bad it was just a huge black block or tons of moving lines. Did a factory reset using Webdoctor and that didn't fix it. The replacement we got seems to be fine so far. The picture's really bad, sorry - took it in the car at a shopping center.

I have the same issue I am 100% stock on mine and ever since the 3.2 update i will have it fully charged at 8am and at 8 pm I am down to 20% and i never touched it the thing just sat in my bag while I was at work. and i have a 100% uptime. I don't use task mangers and have no idea what is draining it.

That definitely sounds like a rogue application.
Any app in your accounts and sync section has the ability to cause that sort of uptime, so take a look through them. Force a sync and go through each of them to see if anything gets 'stuck' syncing. Twitter and Facebook are always suspect, especially if you're 'busy' on them (meaning you have lots of tweets/facebook posts to sync).
Furthermore, the system is SUPPOSED to close away/sleep some apps after they move from foreground to background however, some of these apps can become locked for some reason and not close (thus the definition of a rogue app). Running processes, etc. may do this. So in addition to programs found under account and sync; any app that plays media (video or music) or connects to download data (news, social apps, shopping/deal apps) can cause this sort of uptime.
I know it can be frustrating but the fix may be as simple as removing the offending app.
Good Luck.
I figured my problem out last night. On all 3 of my gmail accounts it was trying to sync picasa and google photos constantly.

ICS Bugs. Gallery refresh and mkv/avi videos

not the kinda thing i want to write up first thing in the morning but i want to see if i'm alone here or if these are release wide bugs in which case hopefully asus will fix them.
for some perspective, i have a galaxy nexus and that does not have any of these issues.
Gallery: i downloaded a few files off of the internet and then never showed up in the browser, even after forcing a refresh and erasing the data they did not show up. After rebooting they showed up, but on first boot nothing would work.
MKVs/AVIs. diceplayer
So 720p MKVs are even worse than before. they lag so bad that it makes honeycomb look good. 720p avi file plays perfectly.
standard def avi files in diceplayer and moboplayer are being sped up just slightly. kinda like looking at a 120hz tv. was not like this in honeycomb.
And on my Galaxy Nexus these files play perfectly in diceplayer and moboplayer, so i doubt it's an ICS issue, but an asus issue.
------
curious to see if anyone else has these issues. honestly very upset with the video issues. i was hoping that ICS would finally allow me to play my hd videos, and now my HD and SD videos are screwed up. almost like asus is forcing me to buy the prime if i want to watch videos, which i refuse to do
Two bugs I've seen so far:
-Battery meter taps out at 99%... It will not say 100. The lockscreen says Charged, but check in Battery and it says 99%, also in the notification area in the lower right.
-Two hours later, the Sync Browser in the Accounts and Sync is still thinking...

I have the same on my Moto Defy with ICS. It only reaches 100% when charger connected but will drop to 99% if removed. I guess, "It's not bug, it's a feature". You can try Battery Calibration if it never reaches 100%.
battery charge
My nexus S never charges over 96%. Then I found its a "feature". It is meant to prolong battery lifespan.
Stock internet explorer turns off by it self.

Please read up on LiPo batteries. It is working as intended. LiPo's are not meant to be ever fully charged.

People having problems with things shutting down, done a factory reset?
I know it's a huge pain, but the lag/stopping of programs I was having appears (so far) to have been solved by a wipe, and re-install of all my apps.

Ok, as a remote control hobbyist who uses lipos all the time, this is just not true. There is no reason why at a certain voltage (4.2 per lipo cell) that the TF should read 100%, this is not normal behavior..but 1% is a negligible drop in battery performance, but could only get worse.
My major bug I discovered- Do NOT use ANY LCD density apps, it will severely mess up you keyboard scaling while not affecting anything else, so I used another one and my launcher is FC'ing will not even boot into it. Time to factory restore..
Factory restore worked, did not even lose root access, but in the process discovered two things, one cool, the other not so much.
1: Asus task manager widget!!
2: tapping VERY quickly seems to be registered as a long press..try it on a widget, just tap it very fast, see if it lags up and then highlights as if it is ready to be dragged, the next tap on the screen will be seen as a drop. Apparently there are touch screen issues even within the official build..CONFIRMED.

I can't seem to duplicate this error.
Regarding the widgets, I'm not so sure that it's a bug. Now I hate to harp that drum but it's very consistent in the way it acts, and I've only found that behaviour with widgets specifically. In fact, the whole tablet runs like a bloody dream after the update, with touch reaction being one of the improved things. Regarding trouble with video in dice, I'm lucky to not have the same fate. Then again I've always been on stock.
Holy ****, I'm actually blown away. Swiftkey feels so much better now too, and there's absolutely no typing lag in chrome, which was the first thing I downloaded. Wow
EDIT:
But Chrome will never support Flash. Weh.
I as well am blown away.. Never going back to HC lol! ICS is just so smooth, and even with a couple quirks, better than HC
The quirks I see could possibly be with not having rebooted since install, so grain of salt with these please:
Slight lag when opening some programs that are not in memory
slight type lag if other things are going on (picky, I know)
bit of an install lag
Its damned good, but why oh why does the bloody GMail widget *STILL* not update/refresh properly?? i.e. what *should* happen is that new emails arrive, and the widget refreshes highlighting the new email in bold and showing an unread count..
Nope.. no dice.. seems to suffer from exactly the same behavior as the old Honeycomb widget, i.e. it updates some of the time at best (a force close on "Launcher" will cause it to refresh just as before).. In the grand scheme of things, this is small potatoes but it would've been nice if it just *worked*
In other news, the stock browser seems great and typing lag is definitely a thing of the past on forum sites like XDA

as far as email widget, do you have push notifications on for gmail?
panorama mode doesn't work with the new camera app, it just shows a black screen. Has anyone else experienced this ?
I also got a random reboot, which is new for me,, as HC never did that.
Another thing I've noticed: When I do a shutdown, I have to plug in power to get it to come bakc on. No amoutn of holding or pressing the power button will work without power applied.. Doesnt bode well for me, as it happened also on spark rom when I had it. Seem that i'm the only one with this issue :/
No sound of any kind system, media or otherwise. Silent mode is not on. Really weird. Had no problem with the tablet playing/making sounds prior to the ICS update.
Anybody dock since ics? Im not seeing my battery info for the dock in notifications, just that it is docked.
Some of the buttons(namely the settings button) dont work or dont work the same. Maybe there is suppose to be a firmware update? Is there away for it to force a check for an update of the docks firmware?

Yep, all enabled. As I said above, it works *sometimes* and always after you force close Launcher, but we shouldn't have to do that..
Had a look around, and irritatingly some people get the same problem and some don't so there's no conclusive answer
G+ keeps closing
I did not notice any sort of issue with dice and 720p mkv files. Should I be looking for something specific ? (These profiles are baseline as high causes artifacts under hc).

HTC One 4.2.2 update pros and cons

I updated my ONE to 4.2.2 around 3 days ago. Needless to say its a pretty cool and major update. Still some observations..
Mentioned in Update Changelog
DayDream
Improved menu button
Notification Bar
Quick settings
AE|AF lock
Back buton = start of Blinkfeed
Some of the good stuff which wasnt mentioned in the log
Gallery has removed the extra step to go to events, albums etc
App drawer animation is waaay smoother
Dynamic contrast now doesnt flicker the screen [I think]
If you have multiple types of numbers stored for a contact, it comes up in small just above the message from the type the message has come
Some of the Issues I found
Normal mode in camera produces a blue tinge in the view finder
BoomSound volume is a little lesser
Power saving mode has degraded. Or maybe the brightness level has been increased. Something has changed in that
One more - I got Wechat preinstalled after this update!
Any of you facing any issues?
I saw nothing wrong with the camera.
But i hav one priblem since 4.1.2 the keyboard flicker sometime, does anybody hav this also??

Can someone who has 4.2.2 comment as to whether there is still a waiting period when sending group messages? What I mean is that when you send a group mms message, there is a small popup with a blue circle that says "Please wait..." Is that still the case? Thanks.
I can confirm too that boomsound sounds a little lesser. and the camera I tested In a bright sunny day, in the screen is something (better I think) and them the picture taken is a little warmer.
The sky quality even in sunny day have a very bad quality. its like 8bit blue color.
my sound isnt as loud anymore and i think my battery got worse, i get 1 hour less screen time -_-
Sound is down for sure but my guess is that some people blew their speakers with very loud files I assume this is a "fix"
Power saver mode doesn't work after update.... Seriously need to fix it soon

Yeah proximity issue. Once a call starts, suddenly the screen would go black and I have to toggle the power button to turn it on. And when you do that, it wont turn off i.e the proximity wont work.
I have no issues with the camera, seems very good still to me...I get the proximity issue though it seems intermittent, I don't really use the speakers to be fair so not sure about the difference there. They still kick the crap out of any other phone I've heard so can't complain! I also think my battery isn't as good as it was though I'm getting there with it. Think the settings are just a little different. I did notice that there seem to be two auto-brightness settings by default if you tap the brightness in quick settings there is a bright and a dim auto-brightness by the looks of it to me.....might be wrong (and I dont mean powersaver auto-brightness, that is lower again!)
Since the 4.2.2 update, my wifi takes between 2-4 attempts before it successfully connects to my d-link router, i also have an Huawei router and it`s the same, before the update it only took one attempt
Also the new drop down setting list, wifi, bluetooth ect. where is the GPS one.
John.
Videos didnt work after update
I have videos downloaded in my videos folder wich were running fine before ota 4.2.2 update. but after update video extension were not supported anymore.
i am running htc stock videoplayer only
Battery... battery took a hit, and not a small one.
I'd say 20% is just gone... and "Kernel (Android OS)" looks to be the bad guy who's ****ing things up.
battery life has gone down
Worth noting that I had massive wakelocks from 7 Digital so disabled that and my battery seems better already.....

Mine went down for the first couple of days but now seems to have settled down and if anything is slightly better.
Seems the battery needs to recalibrate over a few charge cycles.

Also i think it takes more time to charge now..
As people mentioned, battery might need 3-4 cycles to recalibrate...
And yes dynamic contrast flickering has stopped. Screen doesn't into an infinite loop trying to adjust the brightness on a white background screen. Need more confirmation though..

Battery is horrible, I got my update about a week ago and no improvements. In fact, after first charge since 4.2.2 battery was EXCELLENT. But since then, it's awful. Power saving mode is not working, I had it on all the time because phone would overheat in these temperatures. (40+ degrees).
I am seriously thinking about rooting my phone and installing Paranoid Android on it, I love Sense but 4.2.2 just made the phone worse in my opinion
The only thing that's keeping me from moving it's the boom sound + beats audio.
