I been having some very weird problems with my hd2 recently, ever 5-10 minutes, I get no service message, and loose my cell connection, the only way to get it back is by selecting the network under settings. Now I've task29'd reflashed magldr, and various roms along with using another sim card same problems. Its not my network provider or sim as it works fine in another phone any ideas?

Could it possibly be that it's your SIM card? It's probably ran it's course. You should get a new SIM every 18 months or so.
Nope not the simcard, I have tried it in another device and it works perfectly fine

I have the same connection issues with my HD2. It's been a problem for close to a year since i got the phone last April. I got used to it and thought it was normal. My Data connection drops often as well as my ability to make and receive phone calls.
About 6 weeks ago I called T-mobile and they had me do a factory reset with not luck, then they sent me to my local tmo store to pick up a new SIM card, still no luck.
Then T-mobile offerered to switch out my phone for a new one which i did and i still have the same issues. I called T-mobile back again to let them know that the problem is the same and they are sending me another phone.
My wife has a My Touch 3G and she rarely ever has a connection issue and never has a problem making a phone call.
The HD2 is a great device but the connection issues are a bummer.

I could not pull any multimedia texts while on wifi. After contacting t-mobile I found out that there is currently a bug that they are aware of. You cannot pulll mms messages while on wifi. You must be on a data service in order to pull them. They are working with HTC to fix this problem.

That happened to me the first day I got the phone. I thought it was a sim card error. It never even occurred to me that I had wifi connected until you just said that now...
i think this was a bug on one of the earlier builds of my g1, like way back in the beginning
I was wondering if any of you have heard any news on this issue. Or maybe a work around besides turning off WiFi. It is so frustrating . I had this same issue with a Blackberry 8900 a while back.
I've had this same problem since I got my phone. I guess we just have to wait for Froyo and hopefully that fixes it
So it seems more like that its a tmobile thing because my wifes cliq was doing this, since we dont have data turned on with her phone and i just bought the slide and its probably the same thing...but i just try to send a pic on wifi from her slide and my nexus and neither work
Any fix for the mms issue yet?
Is anyone finding Froyo to have fixed the problem? Any workarounds? Just wondering as this is a major problem with this awesome phone. Can't send ANY MMS messages at all!
I can im always on wifi not always but like 95 percent

You can not send or receive mms over WiFi it has to be pulled from the apn and you can only pull from there when you have a data plan it is a way to keep people from using phone without data plan this applies to all Android phones

Hi,
I've noticed that lately my Legend restarts by it self in some specific situations, more often when I enter a place with no phone network. I'm going to give an example:
I enter the elevator, which has no phone network. The legend shows the network icon with the cross. I exit the elevator...5 minutes have passed and Legend still wasn't able to recapture the network signal. I have to select manually a network to connect to. After this... any operation I try to do like send an SMS or try to make a call, the phone just restarts.
This is the most common, but there are other situations where the phone restarts and all of them involve me using it. I'm absolutely sure that the phone does not restarts in standby mode.
Maybe a hard reset would fix this, but I would like to now if anybody has this issue, and if there's other option than factory reset.
I have all updates installed, some apps installed about 49.
Thanks
I've got the same problem...what to do?
I went to my service provider where they replaced my old sim card with a new one.now everything is okay

I also have this problem. I went to my local Best Buy and was told that its an Android 2.1 problem. The problem will supposedly be addressed in 2.2.
Problem still present in Android 2.2
I have experienced the same on my HTC Legend using Android 2.1. The problem is still very much there using Android 2.2. I've contacted my service provider and asked them to send me a new SIM card.
I'll try to remember to post back whether this worked or not.
I have 2 X10's on my person.
The first being perfect, and does what it should do, minus bluetooth hf car kit...
The second is also new, but a certain network dont want it back, so am eager to say the least to make it work for wifey.
Right, it does this.....
You switch on, it boots up with a sim card, but hangs an X in the signal area... for a while too... Then it finds 3G and works... but it drops to GPRS and even though theres signal, does it hell as like. No calls, texts or data. Then it X's for 2 mins. Finds 3G and works, drops to GPRS and so on...
Lots of spares, but is this a quick fix? I want it to work for the wife see...
sad lol
Have you tried to do a repair using SEUS? Might help sort out the radio issues.
from my experience that is a sim issue, how old is the sim you were using in it, if it is a 2G sim then you will experience the above, try setting it to GSM only to test it. If that is the problem then a simple new sim will fix it. We have it a lot with people who dont upgrade there sim with a new handset.
I'm on my second x10 and its fine. I tried my daughters sim and that did it too. Have also tried reloading firmware too,,, no go.

I had a problem almost similar to this when I just got my X10. What I noticed was the Auto Internet button was grayed out, so I put in my providers internet setting manually. But the signal keeps coming in and out. Then I decided to update the software to UK Generic and after that, I did not encounter this problem anymore. The Auto Internet button was not grayed out anymore after the update to UK Generic R2BA026...
Hey guys, I bought this phone for my wife about 3 weeks ago and we having severe issues with it. It seems that there is a problem with going from wifi to cellular signal. Sometimes the phone wont get a signal until it reboots and at times it dosent even do that. Also data has been non-existent except for the first days we had the phone. I don't think we could have gotten two defective phones with the same problem.
At first we thought it was the sim card, but we went to Tmobile and changed it out, also I used my sim from my Vibrant and did not work as well but her sim worked just fine on my phone. I am also noticing the wifi signal is very weak compared to my Vibrant. I though this phone was superior to my Vibrant hardware wise, but I'm starting to think otherwise.
Can anybody shed some light if you have had the same issues? My wife really loves the phone and she just wants it to work properly. What settings do you guys use under wireless and networks?
Have you tried factory reset? That will give you the original wireless settings that everyone else uses.
You're not using wifi calling are you?

Not usually, but i've noticed that it sometimes takes a while to connect to service after leaving a wifi area. Try and test it when your in an area with decent service and wifi.
