I upgraded from Bonsai 2.0.1 to Bonsai 3.0.0 yesterday and it is awesome. The one problem that I notice is that my battery life took a nosedive. I will drop 10 points in under an hour. Has anyone else noticed this?
I have been using it for about 4 days. Its a great ROM. I love the stability bonsai. Does anyone know of good themes that work with it. Need to keep stability. As I use my phone for work.

Questions about Malware protection
I was reading that there are new malware attacks going on in the Android Market, that some people are cloning or stealing some app and republishing them with some root, backdoor coding. I also was reading that theres a patch to prevent that.
What is some of the techniques to protect yourself from this type of malware infections?

Hello ladies and gents of the Vibrant forum. I'm a G2 user thinking about returning his G2 tomorrow for a Vibrant. What is the Vibrant stock Quadrant score with the OTA 2.2 update? Already tried search.
The OTA was not 2.2, it was an update to 2.1.

Oh.
Nevermind then.
Hmmm
There's no 2.2 update yet... sorry
Are you guys serious?! Eugene released a stable 2.2 ROM this morning!
With just a stock 2.2 flash youre looking @ 980 on quad & 14.xx @ 5.9 sec on linpack.
As always though... Benchmarks dont mean jack! From personal experience this phone is awesome! If I stopped flashing it so damn much I'd be able to get 20+ hours on the battery too!
I believe the 'stable' rom you're referring to has broken GPS still.
Also, I think the op thought that the recent update was an official stock 2.2...
Anyway, the quadrant score is around 819 stock but with different mods, a good stable score is around 1600

I think what the OP wanted was a 2.2 vibrant score w/ JIT enabled... eugenes ROM has it.
Stable means usable & will not die or cause nuclear war. Perfect ROM? No... Only working 2.2 ROM working (minus GPS & a few other things not working) on the vibrant, yes.
exactly what does stability & usability have to with a mathematical bench mark test? are you referring to hacks & mods vs. hard code? Stability wise? # wise??
I just got 1903 after using the z4mod (ext2) on JI6:

I'm sorry, I don't like when people put benchmarks down. I happen to believe that some of the benchmarks, including Quadrant Professional are accurate and reflective of real performance. Then again everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

exactly what i was about to say. who cares about 2.2 when you can flash a bionix rom and hit up to 2600 on quadrant. not that quadrant really means anything more than a benchmark.
I think OP is looking for a official froyo 2.2 rom...Sorry OP, no official froyo, but there is a ported version eugene has done.
Although this is a "froyo", no one is sure if this can be an accurate representation of how our vibrants will run when we get the official OTA, but if you want "froyo" now, by all means go ahead and flash it. Its still missing a few kinks and has bugs.
I just got this on virtuous 3.1.0 with kings kernel BFS #5. This is the highest I've seen so I thought I should share.

Well that's probably it... I have had the phone since release but have been afraid to do anything until a couple weeks ago.
I just installed my first rom - Redemptive Revolution 1.8 (love it BTW) but it came with the newest HTC kernel, so that's what I am using. I dont even have SetCPU on my phone. You think the sub 1200 is about right for not having it?

The app is called "Quadrant" and you can find it in the android market. XD Theirs also "Linpack" that you can use to test out Mega Flops.
got these scores had to redo test becuase drocap didnt capture screen like i wanted as you can see.. had to use shootme for second test and score droped a little. Im on ROM The new guy v5 with the blue theme v2. with king kernal bfs #5..love the ROM
**edit
BTW i was reading above about app killing(which i usally do) and both these test were done w/o killing apps and such went straight to testing..
Uber Rom Rules!
On Uber Desire Z, I got 1745 on my incredible!!!!!!!!!!!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=861285
I got 3985 on my HTC HD2 which isn't even a native android device. lol
This is 100% legit & I currently hold the highest score I've ever seen. The system im running is in my sig & has no set cpu or overclocking enabled. It has parts of the operating system stored in the RAM which has much faster I/O than NAND.
quadrant honestly doesn't mean much
1. I am not responsible for loss, damages, tornados, tsunamis, unemployment or any other kind of issue that can arrise from installing custom ROMS.
2. No donations for me, if you want to do something nice theres plenty of people right now in need of support in Japan.
DO NOT FORGET TO Calibrate BATTERY (sorry for the confusion) AFTER INSTALL OR YOUR BATTERY LIFE MAY VERY WELL GO DOWN.

Well if your going for straight performance i would suggest trying an oc kernel over my rom because i have had awsome results as far as speed. i cant guarentee you the same results as few are able to but i was able to run 1.4ghz on my rom with -75mv across the board all day long i was getting around 19 and 20 linpack. hope that gives you some ideas.

Phones ARE computers these days. Fast computers rock. Why do you make the comparison to a laptop and state that a "phone" is anything less. Phone is just a word to describe the original function of these micro-devices. They are 1% phone and 99% other-than-phone. Broaden your horizon(s).

These scores do have a meaning to the people who run the tests. I mean, that's like asking, "why do you race your car at the drag strip?" Easy! To see how my car ranks against others. I can see how my mods affects my car(or in this case, smartphone)'s performance. It doesn't matter if it's noticeable to the user.

Not surprising when you see the real world performance of 2.1 vs 2.2 on the Epic. 2.1 was smoother, faster and all around more stable. Don't believe me? One simple test, pull down the notification bar on 2.1 and 2.2. When compared, you see that on 2.2 it is super choppy in comparison to the perfect smoothness of 2.1. I hate to say this...

Yeah, it's called real lief performance.
If everything works with no lag = epic bench mark
If something lags = crappy software

Lol +0+0+0+0+0+1= +1
Use Chain Fire (CF) Bench... much better for dual core

This should be in general, not themes and apps.

Well this is sort of where this kind of benchmark stuff has always been.

Quadrant is an App
1. How are you doing a quadrant benchmark? Mine errors out at "decoding video". (10/12)
2. I am working on a 1.2 ghz overclock kernel. So far a lot of bugs, maybe that's why quadrant failed... if I succeed, I will try 1.4... if I can even out the major bugs I will release it.
Also, just want to add that on said kernel I got a 6752 overall in Chainfire...

You're likely getting an error at "decoding video" because you have used your camera. In order to get quadrant to work properly, you have to run a benchmark before you've opened the camera and caused it to force close.

just saying.....please don't interpret me wrong
or, if you want all those features, don't install a pre-beta version of a ROM?
highest quadrant score i've gotten so far is 3400-3500, what are you guys doing with your settings to get so high?

I'm not sure how many times you've tried the test, but I did it about five times in a row and each time my score raised by about 150 until it steadied at 4200 or so. Make sure to free as much RAM and extra processor usage as possible using a task manager or similar. Also, are you at 1.1Ghz? That's what I'm at with the kernel that came with the CM7 pre-beta install. I believe it is faux's kernel.

Lol, and unmount your storage (just plug it into the computer, mass storage)
