I just got a new highest quadrant benchmark - Droid Incredible General

I just got this on virtuous 3.1.0 with kings kernel BFS #5. This is the highest I've seen so I thought I should share.

Im not even getting 1200 on Redemptive 1.8. Is it purely the rom and kernel that are giving those scores? Im sure to kill any running apps via running services in the settings menu.

Well that's probably it... I have had the phone since release but have been afraid to do anything until a couple weeks ago.
I just installed my first rom - Redemptive Revolution 1.8 (love it BTW) but it came with the newest HTC kernel, so that's what I am using. I dont even have SetCPU on my phone. You think the sub 1200 is about right for not having it?

It is pretty sick but. I wish it was possible to clock the Inc to 1.5 gHz and be stable. Also some overclocks lately have been fake but its awesome that this one is real XD.

The app is called "Quadrant" and you can find it in the android market. XD Theirs also "Linpack" that you can use to test out Mega Flops.

got these scores had to redo test becuase drocap didnt capture screen like i wanted as you can see.. had to use shootme for second test and score droped a little. Im on ROM The new guy v5 with the blue theme v2. with king kernal bfs #5..love the ROM
**edit
BTW i was reading above about app killing(which i usally do) and both these test were done w/o killing apps and such went straight to testing..

Uber Rom Rules!
On Uber Desire Z, I got 1745 on my incredible!!!!!!!!!!!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=861285

I got 3985 on my HTC HD2 which isn't even a native android device. lol
This is 100% legit & I currently hold the highest score I've ever seen. The system im running is in my sig & has no set cpu or overclocking enabled. It has parts of the operating system stored in the RAM which has much faster I/O than NAND.

quadrant honestly doesn't mean much

None. The Snap kernel has been great to me. You don't have to overclock. In fact, I'm at the same max setting as with the stock kernel.

Performance after Root...

Well, don't know if this has been touched on yet but.. performance after permanently rooting the phone and installing BaconBits is awesome.
Here's my homescreen.. picture is from yesterday (before BaconBits), but I put it up here to illustrate that the scores below were achieved under normal circumstances (with widgets and such running).

Quadrant score. Achieved with maximum allowable overclock after BaconBits.
BenchmarkPi score. Test finished almost comically fast- crazy stuff
Results from the BenchmarkPi test. The fact that this phone can place in the top 100 with minimal effort, with widgets and apps running in the background, is awesome. Battery life hasn't suffered either!
How are things looking for everybody else out there?
Wow that is nuts, just wondering if me personally am having no issues with my phone at all in any operation should I even do the root?
I'm guessing once i install psx emulator i may need to root...
Cyanogens kernel does magic... it really does. Can't wait for the offical release of the rom. Gonna stick with sense until then.

It's BACON!
So far, this thing is surprising me. I OC'd it, loaded up Quadrant and was pleased to hit the 2499 score threshold. I think I can punch to a solid 2500 but maybe later.
Now to just wait for the official ROM. I'm absolutely loving my phone even more.

This is why. The numerous random mis-benching.
It's always either underrated or overrated depending on how your set up is.
There are better tests out there.

What the heck. My score is significantly less than everyone here. I only got 988 and I'm using CM7 nightly with miguelthe kernal and smartass 245-825. Any idea why it'd be so slow?
Sent from my T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide using XDA App
Try to free up some RAM with a task manager, you should get about 1200 with 825 oc, I used to get 1185 yet on CM 6.x. data2ext would significally increase your I/O score. Look at my screenshot above.

Thanks-
data2ext and being overclocked get you the high quadrant score not smartass. I get the same scores with the kernel included in cm7. Smartass just gets rid of the need for setcpu profiles

apps2sd FAT, not EXT.
Data2ext is different than app2ext it completely frees up your internal storage search in the development section
feel so slow
These scores make me want to get a new SD card and do some apps2ext to see how much nicer it will make my phone (not bad btw).

[Q] Overclocking?

How does overclocking "happen"? Is it just like a file that says "you can do 1200 now, so go ahead" or are they specific cpu instructions needed to over clock. I was just wondering because every gingerbread build for the epic cant over clock

They need the source kernal. Then, the commands can be found and adjusted, to put it over-simply.
Ok, I wasnt sure how simple it was. I knew they needed source, I just didnt know how overclocking was done at a kernel level. Or if it was at a kernel level.

Think of the rom as the body of a car with the ability to choose the trim level to your comfort. The kernel meanwhile would be the engine with the option to add and subtract cams, headers, etc to for your needs. The higher the performance the worse off you gas/battery milage will be. Undervolting it would be like getting a custom tune that optimizes mixture levels (think air/fuel) from from idle to top end.
