Can you set it manually because I dont get any way to OC it, only under clock.
Downloading the app doesn't give you oc speeds. The kernel is different than the Xoom so it's not oc'd yet.

agreed... just checked the market and it says the atrix is now supported aswell. i will wait a little while longer until some the dev's and some people try it out.... id love to have my atrix running at 1.2/1.3 ghz!!! man imagine the possibilities
omg, i just installed setcpu 2.1.1a... and though you can not overclock the atrix, you can how ever change min and max speed..... \
default speeds are
Max-1ghz
min- 300 mhz
i set the min to 1hz and OMG THE ATRIX FLIES!!!!!!!!! omfg
even setting the min to 608 mhz is a HUGE improvement.... i am running a stress test right now with min at 1ghz and i will let you guys know shortly some results...
anyone have any info with this wether its safe to run the min at 1gz or should i lower it to 600 or so???

Safe? Sure! Say goodbye to any sort of battery life though.
Just underclocked the max to 600 and ran then quadrant benchmark... scored 1267. Just below the Nexus One 2.2+. As you might expect, no difference from normal when you set the minimum to 1000.
As of now, it seems like something that's kind of fun to toy around with and slightly useful if you want to underclock to conserve power. Definitely looking forward to seeing how this thing responds to overclocking.
Can't wait for the overclock you know to play crysis and all

Yeah I was just talking about overclocking. Im looking forward to oc though but I probably wouldn't run it higher than 1.2 so I can keep some battery life.

Yea the phone is going to get very, very hot. However that's awesome that you can set the min as a relatively high number abd have the ohibe running max speeds at all times.

I know team whiskey has made a kernel to overclock the vibrant to 1.6 ghz already but the kernel is malfunctioning. Now that it has been scrapped is there any more progress on this overclock? The mytouch 4g is beating us at 1.7 ghz!
The Hummingbird cpu doesn't have the overclocking head room that the Scorpion cpu does. I doubt there will be a kernel with a real 1.6ghz stable clock for a long time if ever.

I would probably worry more about my CPU dying prematurely due to the higher voltage and amp passing through it than the replaceable battery.
is it even necessary to have such a high overclock besides for e-bragging on a cellphone (lol) ?

Depends where he sees the increase. With a 1.2ghz I notice an increase in 3d frame rates. I don't think there where any gpu tweaks in the kernel, just the gpu is limited by the cpu.

is there an SBC-bcnice-stable-v8 for EVO SHIFT? this is the kernel for better battery life with auto bump charge. I use it on the regular EVO and would love to use it on the SHIFT. I tried flashing it but I guess I need one made for the shift. any help would be appreciated ...

Naw, no one's bothered with an SBC kernel yet. Too busy getting GB and AOSP compatible kernels working fully.

Under volt is actually using less voltage at a specific clock speed. Lowering your frequencies with screen off is just under clocking

Just the standard bcnice 1.5 kernel will treat you real well. Check top speeds incrementally if going to overclock...some can't go the full 1.5 and others can go higher.

I can't see a visual difference between 1.5 and 1.8 though I of course got better linpack and what not but at 1.8 it would heat up if I played angry birds lol

Just tested at 41.8
Yeah, I would say avg is anywhere from 35 to 42, depending on clock speed. What happens if you run it again right after a couple times?
One time I got and 8, and I was like, WTF? Ran it again and got a 38.
Thanks, I just ran it and it still 16-18. Does the kernal matter. I'm on timat 3.3.7
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
yeah on cm7 I got 40 give or take.
stock sense is like 32 for me and overclocked to 1.2ghz i get 38-39.
bfs kernels were hit or mis on my EVO. Kinda clunky on mine.
I'f you're getting low linpack scores try switching from smartass to conservative(just to score higher). Also I get an average of 41 with my phone clocked at 1190.

I would say definitely linpack. Quadrant is not consistent.
you can get bad scores if you have to many services running. i get 33-35 stock non rooted hw 004. got up to 44+ on my old hw 002(got the restart when overheated problem) when 2.2 first came out, completely stock but since then they have added alot of services that slow it down
if the media scanner is running. i get about 22. so check that in the services if you are getting bad scores

Need more details. What kernel, what CPU settings, etc. I was getting 38-40 on d2.
Just got 40.75 on cm7 with dark horse theme and sz 2.0.0 ondemand 1190
The Linpack app also does not pull enough from CPU to ramp the CPU to max. Set your minimum CPU to the same as your max, run linpack then lower your minimum CPU speed, Interactive is best governor to use for this
all these tests are for is braggin rights...these scores will not be like, oh check it out, my browser loads .3 seconds quicker bc i got 3 more mflops...get out of hee, find a rom you like, and use it, most of them are very good. There is not one rom on this site that blows away the competetion, they are all very very very similiar in speed, nuff said
We all need one and the Xperia Play hasn't got one, so I thought I'd start one for you guys.
On my Xperia Play R800i I'm happily running at 1.8ghz and I'm considering pushing it further. How are you guys doing?
1.5-1.6 here... I'm trying to push it so I can get full speed on TigerMAME with sound, and I'm not really noticing any improvement. Maybe I need to look at trying out some different governers.
Thought everyone's went to 2.0ghz stable, i think it could do more tbh
Well anyway mine is 2ghz stable using the smartass governer
Using what to overclock? Does the Play have an OC kernel stock, or have you done something else to it? I'm a noob with the Play so I haven't discovered all the goodies yet.

Not that i don't think this is fake, but quadrant booster boosts the io points by loading the app's data into ram so it'll past the database read/write at blazingly fast speed.
If you look at the chart you'll see the green section(the io) is at normal level,so he's not using this.
But if you look at the blue section(the cpu) you'll see that these scores are skyrocketed!
So he's overclocked to hell this phone,or he's just using an optimus g or something that has this kind of cpu performance.
Scores with quadrant are equal to none. Its unreliable and even if you get a high or low score it says nothing about your phone

Tweaked system settings, no big deal good for running one program and nothing else. Like running something with a priority of realtime in Windows.
Pump the CPU to stay at 1.7, run Quadrant exit out go to console raise its nice priority etc, go back and bingo nice big scores!
What's the point of this post, to show all you can use System Tuner or scripts or the console?
