Post your highest stable overclock thread! - Xperia Play General

We all need one and the Xperia Play hasn't got one, so I thought I'd start one for you guys.
On my Xperia Play R800i I'm happily running at 1.8ghz and I'm considering pushing it further. How are you guys doing?

1.5-1.6 here... I'm trying to push it so I can get full speed on TigerMAME with sound, and I'm not really noticing any improvement. Maybe I need to look at trying out some different governers.

Thought everyone's went to 2.0ghz stable, i think it could do more tbh
Well anyway mine is 2ghz stable using the smartass governer

Using what to overclock? Does the Play have an OC kernel stock, or have you done something else to it? I'm a noob with the Play so I haven't discovered all the goodies yet.

use doomlord kernel to enable OC, i have 1.2 ghz, i don't want to make it higher, because it will decrease my hardware lifetime, coz I love my xplay...
regards

1.7 ghz fine and dandy probably could go higher but no point really

What games are you having issues with? I am using TigerArcade 2.2.1-FULL on the stock kernel and not noticed any sound issues

i think almost everyone gets 2.0ghz stable, but i run 1.6 ghz. mainly because the improvement 2hz is next to nothing (about 4%-ish on fpsece) and it makes my phone warm when playing.

How did u enable the "3d sweep panorama" is this some ROM specific or is there an APK available?

Instead of diverting from the topic of this thread, please either make a new thread or better yet use the "search" feature. You will find that there is no way to port the panorama app

Lol. Quite Funny.. But if you do ever come back allstate, I think Data2SD will do the trick.
I also get very high with data2sd and wolfbreak's 1.6.3 v4.3 rom. I have got up to 2500, but I'm not sure if it actually makes a difference. I can't tell a real speed difference with or without data2sd other than the quadrant. Without it it is around 1400.

Thats strange because I too have 6.1.3 v4.3 and without Data2SD I get no more than 1080. And I too dont really think Data2SD does anything with the speed or performance, well none I can notice anyway.
Coming out soon: Data2SD+++ (3800 plus and you can notice a major difference in your phones performance. Its faster than your mind can keep up...)

I get 775 with stock Eclair, Im cool with that. I don't undersand the obsession of getting a high score to beat another phones, if we already know X10 is good.
if you want to get that much quadrant you need to have data2sd install on you phone.Im currently using tripNmiui and i have 2750 quadrant.it fast tho. or you van use free x10 beta 3 & 4.beside you need to install freex10 data2sd too.

Can you set it manually because I dont get any way to OC it, only under clock.
Downloading the app doesn't give you oc speeds. The kernel is different than the Xoom so it's not oc'd yet.

agreed... just checked the market and it says the atrix is now supported aswell. i will wait a little while longer until some the dev's and some people try it out.... id love to have my atrix running at 1.2/1.3 ghz!!! man imagine the possibilities
omg, i just installed setcpu 2.1.1a... and though you can not overclock the atrix, you can how ever change min and max speed..... \
default speeds are
Max-1ghz
min- 300 mhz
i set the min to 1hz and OMG THE ATRIX FLIES!!!!!!!!! omfg
even setting the min to 608 mhz is a HUGE improvement.... i am running a stress test right now with min at 1ghz and i will let you guys know shortly some results...
anyone have any info with this wether its safe to run the min at 1gz or should i lower it to 600 or so???

Safe? Sure! Say goodbye to any sort of battery life though.
Just underclocked the max to 600 and ran then quadrant benchmark... scored 1267. Just below the Nexus One 2.2+. As you might expect, no difference from normal when you set the minimum to 1000.
As of now, it seems like something that's kind of fun to toy around with and slightly useful if you want to underclock to conserve power. Definitely looking forward to seeing how this thing responds to overclocking.
Can't wait for the overclock you know to play crysis and all

Uh there isn't a best or worst! There is only opinion's. But if you want the highest clocked and most stable for that speed than i would say Redstar's 1190 kernel
http://redstar.euroskank.com/2.6.37.4/LIVE_DANGEROUSLY/OC_1190/
Just my 2 cents, like a @ssh0l3 everyone has 1
The other two posters are correct--
1. Too high and phone issues, some phones can handle them, a lot can't--be careful
2. Benchmarks are useless and overrated--I have been flashing kernals for almost a year and irregardless of my benchmarks (I haven't even done one for months), the phone seems no differnet for day to day use
3. I prefer the stock one on nightlies--great volume on audio
4. IMHO
<- what he said!

Unfortunately bro I'm not made up of money lol so if I blow it up I wont have a phone for a Cote of weeks lol

We need a kernel.

Ok,so here we have just one working kernel, and its linuxDX.but,it works just with gingerDX.now,we need a kernel wich will work on all 2.3 roms, because it probably will be written on gb sources.i unfortunately dont understand development of such things, but someone who does please help us.
And overclock built in kernel would be good too.
Cheers,xuser132
Maybe linuxdx will be supported for others roms too, because its in the first post in the linuxdx thread.

Need Overclock Kernel

I noticed the Kindle Fire is a little sluggish in some areas. I know if someone can overclock it to 1.4 or 1.5 Ghz, the sluggishness would be gone and we can actually start using this as more of a tablet. Is anyone working on this yet???
BTW can't wait for the custom ROMs...
No offense sir, but you are retarded. That is all.

Try SetCPU or any overclock app in the Market. Set on reboot so OC is persistent. Use at your own risk.
