You have been connected to ~Nicole B.
joshua i: future question
joshua : hi nicole
~Nicole B: Welcome to T-Mobile Chat service .Hi Joshua. My name is Nicole and for your reference my rep ID is 13-20116. First, please allow me one moment to review the information you have provided.
~Nicole B: How may I assist you?
joshua : i have 2 question
joshua : i have 2 general questions
~Nicole B: Okay.
joshua : 1. with t-mobile u.k. dropping their data plans to 500mb/month, is t-mobile u.s. going to follow suit
~Nicole B: Thank you for your patience. I certainly can help you with your concern.
~Nicole B: I will advise T-mobile U.K. and T-mobile US operate separately.
~Nicole B: Our plans and services are based on the needs of US customers and not UK customers needs.
joshua : and 2. with the introduction of more 4g [hspa+] phones and android having an official hulu app, will there be, say, 10gig or more data plans offered over the plans that already exist?
~Nicole B: You may review our plans and services on line to see any new plans.
joshua : does t-mobile not inform you of any of this type of information?
~Nicole B: I will advise that I am not able to discuss our marketing or promotions that we will offer in the future or if we will offer them in the future.
joshua : p.s. i'd love to monitor t-mobile's website of any of these changes but i am currently throttled so hard that my browser simply will not load the page
joshua : and this is carrying over from my last billing cycle.
~Nicole B: I understand that we offer 5GB limit currently,.
~Nicole B: The web is a per month charge with 5GB limit per month.
~Nicole B: Are you monitoring your usage online or via your phone?
joshua : i just found out about that feature through my account or 3g watchdog, but it was too late.
~Nicole B: You may chanage your browser online at T-mobile to via different screens, we suggest Firefox or Google chrome.
joshua : it never was an issue until i had flash capability on my phone and was capped
joshua : i prefer skyfire
~Nicole B: Okay.
joshua : now can you guys do me one favor
joshua : can i get an email or any type of written confirmation that my throttle will be lifted and my data will be reset when i take this month out of suspension and continue my service?
joshua : ive been on a flex plan and was throttled twice before since i bought my vibrant.
joshua : but both times, i paid my bill a week late
~Nicole B: I will advise that your data will be throttled when you reach the 5GB
joshua : but my data was still reset on the first day of the next billing cycle no matter what
~Nicole B: When you start a new bill cycle, which would be the 20th of each month. Then your data will start over.
joshua : not this month
joshua : so i let my account go into suspension until i resolve the issue
~Nicole B: Once your bil lhas been taken care of everything will restore.
joshua : can i get a confirmation email of exactly that.
joshua : [no trying to be a jerk, i promise]
joshua : not*
~Nicole B: I will advise we do not send out confirmation emails or written communciation,
joshua : boooooooo nicole
~Nicole B: Once your bill has been taken care of your data and minutes will be reset.
~Nicole B: Is there anything else I can assist you with today?
joshua : pinky swear on it.
joshua : if i can't get any written proof. just a silly little "i pinky swear" will suffice
~Nicole B: Once your bill has been taken care of your data and minutes will be reset.
joshua : oh wait. nevermind. i didn't notice the option to print out this conversation. that's all i need
~Nicole B: Okay.
joshua : if [by any chance per se] that my data is not reset, i can show this
joshua : thank you for your help nicole. and i'm sorry if you felt i pestered you at all
~Nicole /b/: I will advise that Flex pay customer care over the phone can assist you, via chat we are not able to.
~Nicole B: You are very welcome.
joshua : i've dealt with that before
~Nicole B: FlexPay Customer Care can be reached by dialing 611 from your handset or 1-800-937-8997 from another phone. Via chat we can assist with any coverage questions, equipment troubleshooting or basic account maintenance.
joshua : no thank you. they don't really help, unless i actually get someone who knows really what they are talking about
joshua : which is a 1 in 50 chance
~Nicole B: I am sorry you feel they are not able to assist.
joshua : off topic. again, thank you for your help. i will pay my bill promply
~Nicole B: Okay.
joshua : promptly
~Nicole B: Thank you for contacting T-Mobile Chat. Have a great week Joshua.
joshua : have a good day
~Nicole B: Thank you.

Bruce, no offense, your replies are so long I hit the 5 GB cap on my account reading that xda thread, infact I had to stop reading before my phone melted.
In all seriousness, some of your replies are like reading what a robot might write, you correct people constantly on a technical basis where they've most likely just mispoke. One example explaining that t-mobile doesn't make devices when someone mentioned no tmo devices will see over 3g or something to that effect..... I think everyone understood what you painstakingly explained.
I can appreciate the scientific like accuracy at which you are disecting posts, its comes off as... a little like mini nerd rages imo. Just offering some feedback.

I believe this is probably my first post. My first smart phone was a blackberry curve, then I got a Samsung Moment (horrible phone, but I came to love the android platform), then I got an HTC Evo. This has been the best phone I have ever experienced. I have rooted both android phones and have frequented SDX, android forums and here, I don't believe I have ever posted on any because I haven't had any problems that I couldn't figure out by reading more nor do I feel I have had any information that could have substantially helped anyone. I had recently read (I believe it may have been here but I couldn't find the thread) that if you had a upgrade available but didn't use it by April first and didn't qualify for Gold Premier then it would disappear, I couldn't believe it but had to check for myself, this is my transcript which I then called customer service to verify.
Your session ID for this incident is 2070848.

01/31/2011 09:09:14AM Session Started with Agent (Chris C)
01/31/2011 09:09:14AM System: "Thank you for contacting Sprint. My name is Chris C."
01/31/2011 09:09:14AM Redacted: "I want to know how many years I have been with Sprint and if I will be upgraded to the Gold Premier when it rolls out"
01/31/2011 09:09:49AM Agent (Chris C): "I am happy to help you. Please hold a moment while I access your account."
01/31/2011 09:09:57AM Redacted: "Thank you"
01/31/2011 09:11:56AM Agent (Chris C): "The commencement date of the account is 12/13/2006. Everything Data Share 1500 plan is activate on the account. From April 01, 2011 we offer Everything Data Share 3000 gold plan. Your Premier line will become eligible for upgrade in every 12 month."
01/31/2011 09:13:14AM Redacted: "so my current plan does not make me eligable for the Gold Premier is that correct?"
01/31/2011 09:13:41AM Agent (Chris C): "Effective 4/1/11, Sprint Premier Program is being updated to offer two levels of benefits, Sprint Premier Gold and Sprint Premier Silver, based on your MRC and tenure."
01/31/2011 09:13:54AM Agent (Chris C): "To be Sprint Premier Gold, you must have at least 6 months tenure and meet the following qualifications:
Individual plans with a 3 month average MRC of at least $89.99 or
Shared plans with a 3 month average MRC of at least $169.99 or
Tenure of 10+ year"

Good standing
01/31/2011 09:14:55AM Redacted: "so my next question is that I currently have a $150 rebate available on my main line if I don't use that by April 1st will it disappear?"
01/31/2011 09:15:47AM Agent (Chris C): "Yes."
01/31/2011 09:17:11AM Redacted: "so sprint is going to take away a rebate I currently have available? if that is the case I will be switching carriers as that is a horrible way to treat long time customers"
01/31/2011 09:19:11AM Agent (Chris C): "I apologize for the inconvenience. However, you can use the upgrade eligibility of the phone to before April 01, 2011."
01/31/2011 09:20:55AM Redacted: "but I currently have an Evo and sprint does not have a better phone than that. I have been waiting for sprint to come out with a better phone than the evo to upgrade but since it has not even been announced yet I doubt it will happen before April 1st"
01/31/2011 09:24:20AM Agent (Chris C): "Letters sent Jan 21 to Premier account regarding program update to S|P Gold and S|P Silver. If no changes made to this account after 1/1/11, it will be S|P Silver effective 4/1/11 and receive all Premier benefits except annual upgrade. Refer to your Premi"

01/31/2011 09:27:28AM Agent (Chris C): "Sprint Premier Gold customers receive all the current benefits of Premier, including annual upgrades on 1 line per qualifying plan (or 10+ years service). All other lines on a Premier account currently are upgrade eligible every 22 months under Sprint's N"

Sounds about right. A sprint rep said if you call in to retentions after it takes affect they will add it back to your account (just once though)
i am a little confused...
I thought that we still have at least 1 yr to use the benefit.
I thought it wound only affect the new accounts.
this sucks.

Did not get a letter either, but this was on the S/P location online:
You deserve to be recognized--and rewarded. It's how we choose to say "thank you."
As a Sprint Premier customer, you get unique perks you won't find anywhere else. From free gifts and discounts to the courtesy of a heads-up on new products and services, you get special treatment at no extra charge.
Check out the links on the left to see what's available to you.
Important updates beginning April 1
We want to keep you in the loop. Please note that, beginning April 1, we'll be updating our Sprint Premier rewards program to offer two levels of benefits: S|P Gold and S|P Silver. Learn more about program eligibility and details. http://premier.sprint.com/premierupdate/index.php
I know what the changes are already - it's been plastered all over the internet for the last 2+ weeks. Things become more concrete when they're in writing, and more so after 4/1. We'll all be testing out these retention theories

Nope, I talked to retentions, and the "hidden" corporate number. There is nothing they can do about this. This change came from the powers that be above everyone, and NO rep has the power to change this.

Wow thats bogus business. Talk about bait and switch.
I'm just hoping sprint comes out with an android phone I can't live without before april first or I will start looking at other carriers.

This is hopefully going to hurt Sprint a bit.
My wife and I activated our EVOs on 30 Dec and it was exactly this perk that tipped the scales for me. I love getting new phones and the chance to upgrade every year was a HUGE incentive to me. Now I will ride out this contract and be a free agent again. A free agent that will still feel rather scorned by this move.
I hope that Sprint has some execs that drop by this board every once in a while so that they can see how much of a bad taste this is going to leave in the mouths of the customers that they claim to adore.
This is what I had been saying but was told I was lying...
Glad to see people are learning this for themselves.

Wow! This is ridiculous...
I've contacted Sprint and plan to travel my way up the corporate ladder until I can express my concerns to someone who actually cares. This is a very bad business move for Sprint and will likely lead to me switching carriers.
Perhaps, if we can round up enough people, if we all express our concerns in regards to this change Sprint may consider revising this change. You never know... It's worth a shot.
Last billing cycle Tmobile charged me around 75$ for some third party premium services that I never ordered or signed up for. They were listed under 'true digit llc', Health Alert, Crush Alert Mobile Quiz, IQ Quiz names on the bill. When I spoke w the csr they said I downloaded a rongtone for 9.99$, received a text from them that cost me 9.99$ and other stupid ridiculous stuff, and that I used internet from them for $1.99/mb something like that.
I called tmo and had to fight over it...finally they promised they will refund it the next cycle.
Im wondering if this has happened to you and what was your experience?

i know people are aware that at&t offers discounts via college's and/or employer's..but if those options aren't available to you, you can still get a discount!!
for new customers:
10% off monthly recurring charges
Waived Activation Fee
Free Shipping, and
Heavily discounted handsets
for already existing customers:
10% off monthly recurring charges
Waived upgrade fees (weekends)
Discounted handsets (for upgrades)
Free Shipping
to get the discount:
google student rate and go to their site.
their wireless promos are on the front page (you can't miss it).
go through them and you can obtain a discount phone & monthly bill!!
is there any way to go to an at&t location and still apply the discount via student rate?
Most carriers offer something for a lot of companies/schools. Just ask.
I've even heard people getting discounts over the phone just by asking nicely even if they don't qualify.
I have 25% with Sprint..
I get a 15% "discount" for being a union member.

"Please send us an email at [email protected] with the following information: your first and last name, your AT&T mobile number, the last 4 digits of your social security number and your billing zip code and we will migrate your account to apply the discount to your bill. Please specify in the email if you would like us to forward you the confirmation."

That doesn't seem very legit. I'd go into a store directly and ask for a student discount. The rep I talked to the other day said he didn't know if it counted for community colleges, but he said it did count for uni. Probably you just need a .edu email and then it's good, but yeah, ask.

also check out their website. it's legit. but once again, check it out for yourself and see what your thoughts are on it.
just google studentrate
hope this helps!!
it's better than not having a discount at all.
it's worth a try.
I apply discounts for customers all day and never have I ever seen that before.
Try your luck here with your employee/school email.

it's a pretty good site to get a variety of deals.

i haven't heard anything bad about them. just read reviews.
I just called customer service and they said that they don't offer student plans...but then again...it was customer service. Hahaha.
i believe in order to get the discount you have to do it on student rate's website. they have a promo code or a link.
It depends if your school has a bsuiness account with AT&T or not.

So I called in to the Loyalty Dept yesterday to see if they could help me out with my upgrade since the trade in plans at the stores were just a fancy way of offering a MIR, which they did, without telling me I would need to change anything, and I was happy. Today I checked my account to see if there was a way to save a little money each month by maybe cutting my minutes down some, which I couldn't. While poking around my account I noticed that it was telling me weird things that led me to believe my plan had changed, which I never agreed to, so I decided to contact T-Mobile via chat to ask about it... and this ensued:
Please wait while we find an agent to assist you...
You have been connected to _Cynthia H.
Joe : I cannot find what my bill will be next month, but I have received messages that changes have been made to my plans & services which I DID NOT agree to, but can't verify if they change anything significant
_Cynthia H: Hi Joe , welcome to T-Mobile live Chat. I’m _Cynthia and I will be happy to assist you. Please give me a moment to review your question.
_Cynthia H: I can understand how you feel. I'll be happy to look into this for you.
Please allow me 3-4 minutes to pull some information up for you.
_Cynthia H: Did you check the unbilled calls on mytmobile.com?
Joe : I have been poking around t-mobile.com within My Account, I don't think I checked that
_Cynthia H: Did you just get the new phone of HTC One S Gradient Blue (Kit)?
Joe : I did order it, it hasn't arrived
Joe : I did not agree to any changes other than a 2 year extension, thouhg
Joe : and I was not presented with information stating a change would be needed, or would be made
_Cynthia H: I see that REQ Pref Android Web for $20.00 was added on 05/02/12, this is a required feature for a smartphone.
_Cynthia H: When you buy a smartphone, you need the required data web feature.
Joe : I had a data web fature with my last 2 smartphones
Joe : feature
_Cynthia H: They changed it according to the new phone.
Joe : I wasn't told that would need to be done
Joe : Whaat is my bill now?
Joe : And what are the differneces?
_Cynthia H: I do regret that was left of your order.
_Cynthia H: Okay the other feature had unlimited web and messages for $34.99.
Joe : Correct
_Cynthia H: You need a message bundle added on.
_Cynthia H: I see you do not have used very many text messages.
Joe : I get the feeling you're beating around the bush. I had unlimited data, unlimited text and over 1000 minutes for ~$75 a month before fees. What do I have NOW AND WHAT IS THE COST GOING TO BE???
_Cynthia H: We have 150 Messages for $5.00 or Msg Value Bundle 1000 for $9.99 or Msg Value Bundle UNL for $14.99.
Joe : Hoe many minutes are on my account right now?
Joe : How much do these minutes cost each moth?
_Cynthia H: NW10002YN 1000 Minutes N / W for $39.99.
REQ Pref Android Web for $20.00.
Joe : Is mu data limited, and if so nby homw much, and what does THIS cost each month?
_Cynthia H: This is what you have.
Joe : Am I limited on data?
_Cynthia H: You have the 5GB.
Joe : I have unlimited
Joe : IFix that
_Cynthia H: Yes, but at 5GB it slows down.
Joe : I do not accept that
Joe : I did not agree to these terms
_Cynthia H: You do not have any messages bundle. Do you want one of the above?
Joe : If my dataa slows down EVER I will quit T-mobile faster than you can blink
Joe : I want my account BACK THE WAY IT WAS for WHAT I WAS PAYING
Joe : This is extremely unacceptable and I will be filing a report with the BBB if it's not fixed
_Cynthia H: You got this through customer loyalty.
Joe : I don't care how it happened, it happened without my consent
Joe : I was never told my plans would change
_Cynthia H: What was added was your REQ Pref Android Web for $20.00 was added on 05/02/12, this is a required feature for a smartphone.
Joe : It was slipped in through the back door very sneakily and that's a very bad business practice
_Cynthia H: You rate plan has been there since 9/3/2009.
Joe : If you're not going to listen to what I am saying, I will disconnect and begin filing with the BBB. I'm sure there are other agencies I could contact, not to mention the PR nightmare I will cause if this isn't fixed
_Cynthia H: The only thing that was changes was the web. The old web had messages included. This one does not. Do you want me to a add a message bundle for you?
Joe : I WAS NEVER TOLD I NEEDED TO CHANGE MY PLAN
Joe : AND IT CAPS MY DATA
_Cynthia H: Your rate plan was not changed.
_Cynthia H: Just the web because you bought a new smartphone.
Joe : The data is a part of my plan regardless of what you want to call it. It is part of the PLAN I singed up for with you and it was changed without my consent
_Cynthia H: When T-Mobile customers buy a new smart phone, they all must have the required web feature.
Joe : This was not explained during the conversation I had with your CS rep while upgrading my phone. I was left to believe nothing would change EXCEPT contract length
Joe : What can't you get about this?
Joe : Its very simple
_Cynthia H: That was customer loyalty department.
_Cynthia H: Please call 1-800-937-8997 and ask for customer loyalty.
Joe : My plan needs to be put back into effect immediately the way it was. I don't care what you need to do on your end, I will have unlimited uncapped data, with unlimited texting and I will pay $75 a month before fees which presently are ~$12 a month.
_Cynthia H: They are the ones who did this and gave you a discount for the new phone.
_Cynthia H: Only customer loyalty can do this, since they changed it for you.
Unfuckingbelievable!! She was so dense that she kept trying to play it off like all I needed to do was add texting and everything would be fine... she then FINALLY tells me I have to call back the Loyalty dept to fix it instead of just telling me that in the first place. I was literally shaking with anger as I typed, trying desperately not to lose it on this woman.
I'll update what I get out of the Loyalty Dept when I get a chance to call at lunch.

That's actually what you had before. A few years ago they started throttling everyone at 5GB even if you had a legacy data plan.

I've gone over recently without being throttled, so I'm not accepting that. Going to be calling here soon. We'll see what happens.
I don't think anyone is uncapped anymore I get 5 gb them throttled. Oh I'm unlimited but when I reach 5 it slows down. I just use wifi a little more for the big stuff.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using xda premium
Well, I'm sorry that's been your experience, but I've never been throttled, and like I said in my chat I won't be, or I won't be with T-Mo very long after...
When I called they supposedly bumped me to the 5GB plan (since apparently I was on the 2GB) and added unlimited text for free (since I was apparently without any text plan at all). We shall see. I'm still not happy about the potential of being throttled, especially since with a phone without an SD card I'll be using more data than the 3-4.5GB I use each month now.

I don't think anyone has TRUE unlimited plans anymore, I think it may be Sprint that still has it, but is in the talks of removing it. It's either 2GB or 5GB on pretty much all the US Carriers.

There is no going back. They did the same to me and WOULD NOT put it back the way it was because the truly unlimited plan doesn't exist anymore. Maybe it will work out for you but it didn't for me and now I spend 2 weeks EVERY month throttled.
I'm going to call back Monday and demand the 10GB plan at the 5GB price. This **** is really going up my ass sideways

This comment reminds me of every multinational conglomerate that trades and non-tangible commodities, like air or space or frequency waves or the internet.
Plus it makes me laugh too.

I've had unlimited data with them for years and the 5GB cap on full speed has been there for a long time. You probably just didn't notice it because you are not reaching the limit often. They are not going to resolve this as you had this limit before.
Bc these types of companies have by the balls. Whether you like it or not, you can't get decent services without succumbing to their rules. That my friend is what being up there sideways is all about.

And if anyone doesn't believe this.... Google "spirit airlines marine baldanza". Imo all companies are headed toward this as their customer support model. The cell companies have been dancing around it for years, just don't have the balls to do it in the open like the Spirit CEO does.
You're not going to win, and they don't care if you go to their competitors. You check your alternatives and they're worse (imo) than T-Mobile in most aspects and T-Mobile knows this

I agree, a bit.
Pretty much everyone has the 2-5-10GB limit, there is no unlimited, Sprint was the last to kill it.
I also found this good read while i was looking up this stuff:
http://news.cnet.com/8301-17938_105...-plans-has-helped-make-u.s-carriers-billions/
If their making BILLIONS by killing unlimited plan, they won't do anything. If you're going to leave TMO, go to, I think its METROPCS(they got **** phones) but I do believe they have unlimited data.
and probably a few other lower carriers have unlimited, but the major 4 do not.
If anything, I think that people who are grandfathered in on the old "unlimited" plan should at least get the damn 10gb limit, this 5gb limit is bullcrap
Like I've said, I've never experienced throttling, and I've gone over 5GB once or twice, so that's what I'm basing my experience on.
Ended up calling then again yesterday because I noticed shipping and a retarded amount of tax placed on my order, which the guy had specifically said no shipping would be charged.
I told the girl I spoke to to send me a shipping label because I was sending the One S back and canceling my account because I was tired of fighting just to find out I was lied to again. She put my account back to what it was before the bull****, credited the shipping, and was confused by the taxes ($37+ on $200 is a bit ridiculous since sales tax here is only 6.25% which would be $12.50). But there wasn't anything she could do about that.
When I checked my My Account app yesterday it said Data Used ***MB of Unlimited (Up to 5GB of high speed included), or something like that. And today it no longer says anything about 5GB in parenthesis. After two T-Mo reps told me it couldn't be done, I'm now (supposedly) back on my original plan which was all I wanted. If old boy had originally told me changes would need to be made, this wouldn't have turned into 3 angry phone calls in 72 hours or less; I would have worked it out with him on Thursday. Now he's got 3 callbacks in under 72 hours, which will probably not look good on his next review, since that's supposedly one of the metrics they use, and a formally very happy customer who's now barely content.
And if I start noticing a throttle at 5GB, they'll get more calls.
"Gator don't play dat ****!"

this is why i usually go into the store and and ask all my questions. at the end, they print you a cost summary sheet and all the stuff you ordered/changed. I'm still on my myfaves unlimited plan and I'll be pissed if they changed my **** w/o consent.
good luck, hope you get your plan back. btw, then tmo closed down x amount of call centers, you're probably talking/chatting with ranjit or chad from india so go to the store and speak with the manager.
Yes very very good Sanjay

YMMV but ~$200 statement credits, early upgrade and free feature packages are given out.

It is related because you are threatening AT&T with the exact program to get them to lower your rates. Also truth be told just tell them you need your rates lowed and they will. You don't need to tell them you are leaving. They put you in a high rate tier on purpose so they have some bargaining room if they need it.

Okay the post you linked didn't mention any of your reply. It is just about TMO promotion. OP is about ATT offering bill credit and early upgrade and not about change to lower rate plan. I don't know why I should explain this anyway.
I laugh at the fool that tries this and At&t says bye bye. Go have fun with T-mobile, and their lack of coverage areas, worthless customer service, and constant throttling of your network speeds. Lol

yupp!! and unlimited data for what is only 200mb on ATT!!!
Other than the off topi banter and arguing over which plan is better, is there really any reason to argue over what a member threw up to consider?
Keep it classy folks, use the information or not, does nto give any member here the right to be disrespectful to each other.

That fool would be me. I guess the rep took a look at my account and didn't offer any discount what's so ever. I called asking what my ETF would be for my two lines and mention the T Mobile promo. She put me on hold for a few minutes and came back with my amount. But of course I have 2 unlimited data plan which I guess At&t wouldn't mind getting rid of.

@duhbanjopicker that sucks man that tmobile does that for you. i dont think you are special to them or something, because i have unlimited data all the way, no speed throttle
I love what this is doing for the industry. If you look at the earnings reports for the big wireless industry players they even have a metric for how much they are screwing their customers. It's called the ARPU or average revenue per user. If it doesn't go up then they aren't doing a very good job. Tmobile is single handedly attacking the areas of the industry that have the highest margins. It's going to be great to be a consumer the next few years if this keeps up. Competition is heating up.

"Special to them"????????? I'm not "special" to anyone, corporate. My opinion is T-Mobile SUCKS. Please pardon my scream. But I personally had a terrible experience with T-Mobile. To those who have good service and a good experience more power to ya. But this promotion will not move me away from At&t. I have 3 unlimited data plans, unlimited text, mobile to mobile, and 1400 anytime at around $150.00...... No thanks T-mobile!!!!! Nice try though!!

If there's a positive in this deal, your analysis is spot on IMO!!!! Hopefully this isn't some scheme, to move all of these customers away and then say Sprint and T-Mobile merge. That would not be good!

They are wanting you to go to T-Mobile in hopes you hate them so bad you have to come back. That way you've lost your unlimited data plan.
I chatted with AT&T to see if they could come anywhere near T-mobiles price ( currently I pay for 3 phones on family plan, $175 after 17% premier discount w/3 subsidized phones). Nope.
Even with 3 phones on their payment plan, it's $90 service + ~$24x3 phones = $162
What really got me annoyed was when I asked simply if they are going to lock the bootloaders on every future Android phone. The rep answered that they most likely would and stated that he had the Note 3 on T-Mobile and knows for a fact that their bootloader is locked too.
After 10 years, I'm going to jump.
I called AT&T on behalf of my mother-in-law. Her account has a subsidized Note 3, iP5c, a G-Tab 7 that was free with the N3, and an older iPhone that has 11 months remaining on its contract; all on a 10GB Mobile Share data plan. The N3, G-Tab 7, and iP5c were all added to the account within the past 60 days.
Without much effort I was offered $45 in billing credit each month for three months. I asked about an early upgrade for the older iPhone and was offered a N3 for $99. That's a no-go because my father-in-law's not about to learn Android. They made a note on the account that the older iPhone can be upgraded to another iPhone when it hits six months remaining on its contract. The rep was nice and you can tell AT&T's serious about not losing (certain) customers to T-Mobile. I'm guessing there using some type of tool to figure out what a customer's worth to figure out what if anything to offer to retain them.
Hmm.. maybe I'll give them a buzz when I get home.. like to see what they can do with 6 smartphones and 2 tablets on a 6GB Share Plan.. current, I'm at $346 per month !!

Yes!! I started service in Sept of last year. I just called and they gave me a discount on my data plan and offered me $45 discount. I don't know if it'll be for 3 months. I didn't care as long as they lowered my data plan. I guess there are multiple options they can provide. I just told them I walked into a T-Mobile store and inquired about a phone. Rep asked me if I liked the service of AT&T. I said yes and he put me on hold...the rest is history!!
It worked for me!!
I tried to get them to pop a discount over chat with no luck. Ill be calling them tomorrow
