Well, I just got a tweet that this tab is coming this spring. It is EXTREMELY STYLISH! Its going to have the anticipated Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) OS. Sounds interesting. Anyone plan on getting this tablet? How do you think it will affect the G-Tablet market?

no usb and no hdmi out....no thanks
Good catch. Its amazing that they're creating tabs now a days without the basic features such as USB and HDMI. Again, this puts the G-Tablet ahead of the game.
AND No SD card slot, SIM CARD only.
Dont forget the high price also..
Probably another failure...
The reason for no USB/HDMI is cause they want to sell you a docking station probably for $100 with those ports, as for the no SD card, thats just dumb, but maybe they will be releasing different units with higher capacity and that would make sense to not release a unit wiht an SD slot.
Personally I wouldn't miss the lack of usb slot. I can easily copy stuff via the proprietary usb adapter or wifi explorer etc. I've also never found the need to hook up a tablet to a TV for HDMI but I guess that's a requirement for some. As for the potential price - yeah that could be a killer. Still, lots of options on the horizon. We'll soon see which ones stick...
Don't forget about the upcoming Kal-El quad-core tablets. They're "promised" to be shipping by August, which means manufacturers are already working on them.

they are not prromised they will ship by August, They promised that the manufactures get it in August and then will the devices come in Q1-Q2 2012.
But anyway i think im gonna buy this, if the pricing is not to high. Clove.co.uk has set it to 600 £ atm, but that is just a guess from them, but if that is the priceing im gonna buy it.

i am sure you all remember after the release of Samsung Galaxy S, a Russian site disclosed information about proposed Samsung Galaxy S2 with following specs.
4.3” 1280x720px Super AMOLED 2 display
2GHz CPU,
1GB RAM/4GB ROM
32GB of built-in flash memory, +32GB microSD card slot
8 megapixel camera with FullHD video recording
A-GPS, Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi b/g/n
3.5 mm headset jack
Accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity and ambient light sensors
OS GingerBread
Many thought that its fake or fan-boy gone crazy...well they must think again cuz samsung has announced some amazing news last day.
A "DUAL CORE A9 1ghz Processor"
The system-on-a-chip (SoC) is codenamed Orion, it is based on the dual-core Cortex-A9 architecture from ARM, and will have the cores running at 1GHz. Samsung claims it will be 5 times faster in graphics rendering than its current Hummingbird.
Full HD video recording and decoding at 30fps, support for cameras up to 18MP, and support for up to three displays simultaneously - two on the device itself, and one external HDTV, for example, via HDMI-out. The Cortex-A9 chipsets also should deliver 30% reduction in power consumption.
have a look at following sites:

specs are just the max of what we could imagine. That's why I am skeptical. Talking about 3.0 when 2.2 is not final on the I9000 - that's a rather bad sign.
they will for sure give up on some specs when releasing the phone. and it will also depend on competitors product.
gingerbread is reality. android has already started spreading rumors abt Honeycomb (next version after gingerbread).
Whether the source is legit or not... I wouldn't be surprised if most of those specs are true.
We haven't heard of a "Super AMOLED 2" yet, but it would be a damn fine screen if it say, fixes the color banding on current pentile amoled (maybe use the RGBW I've heard about, that'd be awesome xD) and other issues (improve battery?)
Personally I think the current SGS size is perfect, so a 4.3" screen.. well they better have absolutely no wasted space around the screen lol.
It would also have to have hdmi out, either micro-hdmi or more likely the same connector as the galaxy tab.. and on that note, these specs sound very similar to the tab on steroids (tab already has confirmed gingerbread update + 1280x720 screen iirc).
If they release it (assuming it exists) in <6 months though, I think most of us would be a little mad though.. lol.
EDIT: OMG. maybe "Super AMOLED 2" could one of those foldable AMOLED screens... that would be pretty sweet haha!

If they can achieve the screen then nothing else listed is really that mindblowing, particularly if OPs sources are accurate (OP, I didn't read them, too busy). @Froyo/gingerbread, Froyo is supposedly ready in a fashion that they can use it (and have put lots of work into getting apps to scale) for the tab. It's fairly apparent that the Galaxy Tab has been the focus of their software department for the better part of a month, but we will reap part of those rewards even if it has partially delayed our Froyo...it's definitely not too early to talk about Gingerbread, particularly if Samsung can work with Google (Google might be very interested if they like the Galaxy tab) to become the next Google-Experience Device.

I agree on 4.0" being the sweet spot, then again, before big devices become in vogue I wanted the 5.0" Streak until SGS was announced.
In the other thread about this topic a user said, 4.3" makes the rumors less likely because why would Samsung switch sizes (I know that's not what you said but I'll paraphrase my reply to him anyways). ...'I completely disagree. First, perhaps it was too hard for them to fabricate 4.3" in a device that they expect to sell like the SGS. 2nd, what percentage of Samsung's customers will upgrade from a 4.0" to a 4.3" 6 months later, they are trying to hit a different niche that perhaps opted for the Evo or would prefer a 4.3" if they were out of contract.'
As far as the progression of smartphones go, the faster the better, make my device obsolete tomorrow and that means the newest ones are nearly literally mini-laptops...I wouldn't need one for the duration of my contract. I'd only be jealous of the screen, and that is a jealousy I can live with (and probably pay a premium to switch devices for). Everything else, I'd be able to live without, and I bought this device thinking "This is the one I won't worry about for a year." Shorten that to 6 months and touche Samsung, you've done your job and done it well. The way the smartphone market is these days if they don't do it someone else will (well, they prob cant do screens like these for at least 12 months).
wonder if sammy will have fixed the GPS on the current model by the time that S2 releases
Holly Crap!

any update on this?
a samsung insider should be asked, anyone know such a person?
Looks pretty awesome to me. I absolutely agree, 4" screen is perfect. 4"3 is a bit too wide, not as easy to hold in one hand.
But i mean, let's be real, all of this depends on the software they'll put in it. Samsung is getting much better at supporting their smartphones but still...
If this thing gets a good OS / support then it will kick ass (look at the X10 still on 1.6...)
AND, who knows what competition will have out by then. Maybe a new iphone 6 with even less buttons

The Viewsonic 10 inch "G-Tablet" discussed in the link below ($349 from Sears) has the Nividia dual core 1ghz Tegra 2 processor. It sounds like it has pretty decent hardware but lacking in software due to not being an official Google product and having a poor performing UI.
http://androidandme.com/2010/11/tablet/viewsonics-tegra-2-tablet-on-sale-now-at-sears-for-379/

Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n
G sensor/Light sensor
Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR
3500mAh/7.4V Li-polymer Battery Life 8-10 Hours
Slim design (267 x 173 x 14.3mm) Wt. 820 Grams
Buttons: Home/Back/Menu/Volume/Power
OS / Android 2.2
Headphone Jack
Built in Microphone
"Original information out of Viewsonic said this device would cost over $500, but Sears is selling a WiFi-only version that lacks the sim-card slot of the more expensive model. Some overseas models were also reported to include 1 GB of RAM, but the Sears unit is shipping with 512 MB RAM."
"The good news is that this tablet comes with Android 2.2, but that might be there the fun ends. This tablet was not certified by Google so it lacks all the Google Mobile Services including the official Android Market. Thankfully you can still sideload apps and alternative markets like SlideME."
You can buy the "G-tablet" here: http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00382001000P?prdNo=1&blockNo=1&blockType=G1 Use the zoom feature on the picture to get a really good close up of the device buttons and LEDs etc. I like the clean and simple look. Three buttons is nice too and the Wifi only will work perfectly with a tethering Nexus One (see it's not OT). At $380 it is ~$120 cheaper than the equivalent iPad.
I think this would be a good candidate for dev support to take advantage of the hardware to root and optimize for 10" display. If developers are interested in rocking this device I am definitely picking one up.
Do you think developers would work with this device?
At the pricepoint they are selling it for, this device would be appealing if we have developer support.
Let's face it, developer support will be the deciding factor for a lot of people, almost (but not completely) regardless of the hardware...
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
Let's also face it; it has nothing to do with the Nexus. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=824804
I might pick one up the next time I'm in there browsing the lawn mowers
Archos 101 for 299 is more appealing no ?
So after owning a SGS2, would you consider a 7" version of it? HELL THE FRAK YEAH I WOULD! Esp for videos. I have to re-encode my MKV's just to be able to watch them on my TF101, so being able to watch movies w/o re-encoding is a big plus for me. Of course there are other methods to watch movies on a Tegra2 device but I prefer natively.
If you're like me then read below for more info.

But then again, Tegra3 is hopefully coming out at the end of the year & that has me considering if I should of not but at least with a 7" tablet, it's easier to carry around than a 10" tablet on the go.
haha! i WOULD LOVE ONE!! But not that one!
It appears that's going to be a "medium" device.
Just my opinion, but if I'm going to be paying that much (that being a very high price) I want the best, compared to what's in the market.
If I was getting something this fall, I'd either wait till next year to get a quad-core GPU, ultra-high resolution display (MAYBE Super AMOLED ultra high res)
Plus I'd want it to have Ice Cream.

True. if the price is too much then I won't consider getting one. If it's affordable then I would consider it.
I'll be getting a Quad Core tablet when it comes out but having a smaller tablet has it's advantages too.
I believe you could run ICE CREAM on that hardware down the road.
With this, it will keep me busy until the Quad Cores come out in the winter time. Of course, this is based on if it does come out during the fall as speculated.
i hope u werent talking about using it as a phone, like some have with the 1st gen galaxy tab....
but using it as a tab, then yes, of course.
I have both 7" galaxy tab and sgs2 (was sgs til a few days ago)
If they have the spec of the sgs2 with a 7" screen it would be awesome! The tab only lacks the super amoled screen against the sgs, but run a duel core processor and amoled and it would be the best tablet IMO
Oh and those questioning the tab being overpriced, carphone are selling em sim free for £250 to clear (limited stock in stores only)
Sent from my 2.3.3 Gingerbread Galaxy TAB running Touchwiz4 using XDA App
for 250 pounds I'd buy one but atm for tablets you can't beat the ipad2 (hw/price wise), those ipads are so cheep and the android tablets so expensive
google should give part of it revenue from the market to the hw manufacturer, so they can lower their prices and be competitive with the ipads
I would get one only if it supported NTFS. What is the point being able to play full res videos/movies when you are limited to only 4GB on FAT32.
wish it were a 5 inch screen
I've already got one, it's called a Samsung Galaxy Tab.
Unless you want to play high-end games it does everything just fine including playing any media I throw at it.
IMO, the HD+ is the best overall tablet for all but heavy 3D gaming due to size, display, battery life and low sleep bleed.
It would be IMO super great to have the current tablet we have with 2GB ram and an S800. Imagine that. Heck, I would be happy with the S600 that my S4 uses. The only other change would be to rid of the special cable and have microUSB for charge/data and a micro HDMI out.
So close, IMO to the "perfect tablet".
HD+2 with S600, 2GB ram, micro sd & USB, hdmi out, 32GB flash with $300 seems possible. S800 version for $350. I might be $50 under reality for either....... Yep, I am.

The tablet is < 1 year old. It major for reason for being was a super reader with a optimum book size and screen display comparative to an iPad, the biggest seller. The Nook HD+ may have been close to the perfect eReader. Google Playstore and the quantity of apps weren't available. The cost was higher as introduced but in accordance with competitive tablets.
A few months ago, developers right here turned the HD+ (HD too) into a top of line tablet that can run the latest version or Android. B&N was ripped out. Hummingbird and Ovation became a better value when B&N reduced the price in June. I don't think that B&N realizes any value from the developments here. Certainly they're not encouraging the sale of books because the Nook Reader app remains not compatible in the Playstore... even though it runs without problem.
Look at the some of the things we're trying to fix. Amazon Kindle app, battery charging with not stock charger, geolocation via WiFi, keyboards, USB Drives, faulty? chips for FStrim, WiFi transfer, custom screen resolution, and whatever I've missed. Which of these items were even considered with the original design?
I don't think there will be a hardware package like this one for the $.
$99
Nah for those prices Id go for another tablet. I got the nook because i dont need a $300 tablet, the nook is great for its price
- Note II
I would like standard USB as well and still have it slow charge over USB.
High speed charging isn't possible over USB (at least from what I've heard) which is
why the ipad has that big connector type as well.
There is a new Nook or set of Nooks due to be announced before December, now
that the new ceo of B&N has revoked the previous ceo's roadmap to do third party manufacturing.
It will be VERY interesting to see what the new specs will be and the prices.

But less storage and no sd slot. Both are significant misses. That and the proprietary market thing. Most of us would not own the Nook if no Google market. I would not without the sd slot as well.

Yeah, but there will most likely be a CM build for it not too long after launch, which gives it full Android.
But I didn't know about the lack of SD, as I hadn't looked too closely at it yet. But I think they are making a 64 GB version.

I wouldn't mind if they kept the special cable tbh, as coming from my Nexus 7 v1 and a Samsung S3 both charged via micro-usb the connections have worn away and the cable can drop out easily.
Saying that if it was swapping for something else like wireless charging with the charge already in the box then I would go with that and micro-usb
Just a couple of changes for the perfect Nook HD+
I love my HD+ but would love to see some changes if BN does a tablet again for Christmas or licenses the brand to a third party like Google did with the Nexus and Asus.
1. A micro USB port for charging with OTA and MHL (HDMI out) enabled.
2. Use of an A15 chip like the Exynos 5420, 5410 Tegra 4, Snapdragon Krait 800, or one of the upcoming ones from other vendors like Renesas or even MediaTek. This will enable running Ubuntu 13 Tablet smoothly on it if we so desire. For those that don't know already Ubuntu have as a minimum requirement the use of at leaset a dual core A15 (not A9) chip to run their tablet OS and a quad core A15 to use the Ubuntu PC functions of the OS.
3. Other materials to make it lighter.
2. Maybe... just maybe a camera for Skype conference.
They'll need to include the following:
At least one half decent camera (not having this before was a painfully obvious error)
Dual band Wifi
micro-USB and HDMI
To compete with Amazon they'll also need to have specs that give as much or more bang-for-buck as the Kindle HDX, at a minimum
Resolution: 2400x1600
300ppi
Cpu: 2Ghz quad
Ram: 2GB
... and a couple of additional sensors would be nice (gyro, light)
I was thinking more as a Nook design with the noted changes, but not sold by B&N as part of their proprietary market or crummy OS effort.
Similar hardware design from a non closed system.

Yep, since Nook would still probably be locked down, or would have to be higher price to make money on units. Also the crummy UI would still exist.
If a company took the Nook HD+ and made these changes:
1. Standard 4.3 OS with not UI bolt-on.
2. Micro usb instead of proprietary
3. S600 or S800 chipset
4. 2GB ram
5. 32GB flash
I would pay $350 for that

Hello,
that depends on what you want to do with your PC. The mainboard is the base and limiter for all other components except the power supply(in most cases).
Well, i only have a acer pre-built the motherboard is acers....
I want to use it for video rendering or gaming
It can run pretty much anything I think I've seen people upgrade it to an rtx and stuff
@Kenora_I if it was me, and I just did this upgrade 2 weeks ago and am loving it, If your 1tb of storage isn't a Nvme/M.2 I would do that. I had a 2.5 in sata had and for $80 on Newegg I got a WD 1TB sata m.2 and it's night and day difference. Boots in like 15 secs, instant response when multitasking etc. And I just use PC for everything but gaming. So coding/compiling is a mind blown difference lol
If I was you I would start saving for a new built to be honest, aim for a B550/B550M with a Ryzen 5600X for example. Video rendering and gaming will soon become a stretch on that system if it isn't already.
Assuming the power supply is non standard and not easily upgraded, the only real bottleneck that can be remedied is storage. Agree an M2 ssd would be best upgrade likely available.

I would build new since you have several things that could use an upgrade in the next year or two. Adding upgrades to an older oem board is just money you will never recover for an end result of a PC still in need of a mobo upgrade.
Building new doesn't have to be that expensive nor does it have to be overpriced ryzen. I threw together an example here . Room to expand RAM by 2 slots later if needed. Less than $600 bucks and could use your GTX 1050 until you get an email that it's your turn to buy card at MSRP.
EVGA's notify list works, may take 2 or 3 months but you can get a card at MSRP.
In my opinion it would be best to wait until prices falls down to regular prices.
But you may consider getting SSD and HDD as you've mentioned you would be playing games and 1TB isn't sufficient.
You can look for case or better case fan if needed.
Mechanical keyboard and Mouse can be consider too.
You haven't mentioned about the PSU you may also consider that if you are looking forward to getting power hungry GPU in future.
Get a cooler if needed if prices are fair enough for it. (if you get one then get one where you don't have to buy one if you choose to upgrade to latest CPU.
In my opinion this are some possible upgrade you can make with your currant build.
If in case you choose to make new build in future then don't upgrade anything in this build presuming that you don't have any issue with currant build and your build gets job done.
In short upgrade if needed or just don't upgrade besides storage.

Must depend on model. I signed up in Feb. and didn't have the money when 1660 ti came up, resubmitted for 1660 super and got it a couple of weeks ago. It's gotta be model, location shouldn't matter I wouldn't think. I don't know how they do it, but 6 months sucks.

Tempted to upgrade my 2080 ti to a gigabyte 3080 ti so got it from NEWEGG however not certain my PSU would be adequate. PSU and everything (I imagine) that draws power are recorded underneath:
1 x Seasonic Focus Plus 750W 80 Plus Gold Modular Power Supply
1 x Intel Core i9-9900K 3.6GHz (Coffee Lake) Socket LGA1151 Processor
1 x Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Elite Intel Z390 (Socket 1151) DDR4 ATX Motherboard
1 x Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 PC4-24000C16 3000MHz Dual Channel Kit
1 x Samsung 2TB 860 EVO SSD 2.5" SATA 6Gbps 64 Layer 3D V-NAND Solid State Drive
6 x Corsair ML120 Pro RGB 120mm Premium Fan with Lighting Node
1 x Be Quiet Dark Rock Pro 4 air cooler
Cheers generally functioning admirably.

You should be good, 750W is what EVGA Power Meter recommends for the components you listed. There are quite a few power supply calculators available online.
So, it really depends on what you want to do with your PC. Do you want to make your PC more suitable for gaming or work? As an example, I use editing software from Movavi and it requires a lot of good components such as SSD, high-end processor and of course a lot of RAM. From my point of view, you need to change your HDD to SSD and add more RAM, so you'll have a very powerful machine.
Now would be the time to start looking at things as prices are falling.
