Right now i have android 2.2 sense on my HTC HD2. I have flashed a few ROMS and are starting to get the hang of things but all the ROMS i have flashed have had a DAF.exe or a Installer.exe file in them that i use to install the ROM. Now i want to install MDJ's CyanogenMod 7 v. 2.6 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=877777) but can't understand how to do it because it only has three folders in the Zip, Boot, System and META-INF. HELP PLEASE??
You must not unzip this rom, it gets installed using ClockWork Mod (CWM) and is installed as a zip rom from the sd card. You will need magldr 1.13, you then need to flash a cwm 1.3 partition (150mb) should do. You then enter ClockWork Recovery and install the rom. You'll find info on CWM here

i've recently flashed the MDJ's cyanogen 2.6 onto my HD2. If i wanted to update rom using CWM how do i backup etc.. will i have to partition my SD or not? I'm quite unsure on how to use it in general and would be grateful if someone could fill me in on the basics.
thanks
If you are using a CWM 1.3 partition (installed to NAND) with magldr 1.13, then to get to CWM Recovery you go to option 8: AD Recovery on magldr menu. Then in CWM go to "backup and restore" and backup your rom. You can obviously restore it from here later if needed.
To flash a rom, go to "install rom from sd card", then select the zip file from its location on the sd card and choose install. Pretty simple really once you get the hang of it.

Thanks for the help!
i have hd2 512 eu version. Magldr 1.13 installed and so is CWM 3.
recently i accidentally dropped my phone and now the usb connection/sync is not working because of the connectors being broke.
i would like to know if their is any way possible other then using DAF if i could flash my HD2 with 400M recovery since i accidentally flashed it with 130M recovery just before it being broke.
i cant install GINGERBREAD since it needs more then 130M partition on the phone and no GINGERBREAD out on XDA supports the use of SD card as phone memory. i have tried more then 6 gingerbread's using CWM mode but no luck.
currently i have * [CWM] RAFDROID HD 3.0|Fastest Full DesHD|DATA2EXT|[Kern:Rafpigna 1.7 OC] installed on my phone.

How to update jellyblast rom using CWM
I have flashed jellyblast v3 on my samsung galaxy y but the ota updates usually fails to update can you please help me how to update the rom using CWM??
This is a very old thread, of a problem for the HTC HD2. You have a samsung sth, why are you posting here and reviving a very old thread? anyway here is how (we do it):
You should download the ROM's update .zip, copy it to your sdcard, then boot into cwm and select "install zip from sd" or something like that, and finally select the newly copied zip and go through installation.
I have a european HTC HD2 running MAGLDR 1.3 and I cannot install Clockworkmod under any circumstances. I've been running MDJ's Cyanogenmod 7 for weeks now and have the correct radio and hspl, but every time I attempt to flash clockwork I get a message saying NAND kernel open failed when I try to boot AD Recovery. I've tried both the NAND boot and the old style SD boot with no luck whatsoever. I'm now totally stumped and unable to get any of the new ROMS. Thanks in advance for any help you can give.
Can you give us the exact steps you have taken?
This way we can see if you missed something.
Thanks for the response,
Installed radio and hspl, then magldr 1.11 (this is the setup I'd been using for a while). Today I tried to install clockworkmod so I upgraded to magldr 1.13 at the tri color screen. That seemed to work fine, all the functions working perfectly. I then downloaded cwm 1.3 150mb and tried to install (USB flash, ran as admin etc.) The install seemed to go alright but when I tried to boot into recovery I got the error message. I ran into the same problem using the method where you put files on the SD first and using the script to install magldr 1.13 and cwm one after the other.
i had problems with cwm 150 installer. i ended up getting the 250 meg version, and editinf flash.cfg, worked first time.
Did you use AD SD or AD Recovery (option 8 )?
AD Recovery is the one to use.

I've used both and neither worked, they both result in nand kernel open failed. Its unable to find initrd or the other file no matter what i do.
Sounds like the file recovery.raw (or is it recovery.img, i forget) didn't get flashed, please confirm there is a recovery image included with the cwm files you are installing, and also please paste us the contents of your flash.cfg. file.
Try flashing 400mb clockwork mod.most roms require this mod and it does work
Sent from my HTC HD2 Gingerbread using XDA App
I got it to work by using the 250mb version with edited flash file! Thanks a lot for all the help.

open the file flash.cfg in notepad on the pc, edit the number in the system line (you will see what i mean when you see it) change it, save it, flash it.
nand kernel open failed
you are probably putting the 'clk' version of the rom in your storage card for installation. you need the 'magdlr' version of the rom for clockwork mod to correctly install android
Same problem with NAND karnel fails
I bought my HTC HD from my friend at work, it had installed, android aMAGLDR V1.13 I had a problem to erase my friends gmail account from the phone and when ever i connect to the Internet his account appears to log on and sync, I tried to reset the phone but I failed, now I tried ti flash the android regarding gunjahman's Flashing a new nand android rom over a previous one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=11302885#post11302885
and I flashed with Recovery_400M and now I'm in Boot menu and can't get it to boot or anything else.
Can please anyone help me???

1. power down
2. on Clockwork choose opt 8(ad recovery)
3. I choose install zip from sd card
4. I choose my zip
5. After the zip installs I rebbot then i get this message on my mgldr screen.

Wow I cant believe this worked. You have 2 recoveries, MAGLDR and CLK. So one would think you use the CLK rom with the CLK recovery, and the MAG rom with the MAG recover.
NOPE!!
You use MAG rom on CLK recovery. Jesus christ I spent 3 hours on this.
can anyone help me installing this, i have installed other rom before but i don't understand how to do whit this one.
i got MAGLDR on my phone and then i gonna download this verison http://www.multiupload.com/11VO5R7EM4
Right?
and load in to usb loader in MAGLDR and then what, how do i use the files in the zip i have download? use costumruu ? or how
You have to flash clockworkmod (short CWM).
With cwm you can flash zips to your nand and also make backups:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=987531
Code:
For MAGLDR 1.13, booting from NAND:
Download the file attached and named "magldr_recovery_3.0.2.5.zip"
Download a partition layout incl. recovery from [URL="http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=898913"]this thread[/URL] which fits your ROM you want to use best and unzip it into "C:\recovery" for example
Copy over "magldr_recovery.img" from inside the zip archive into this folder "C:\recovery", delete existing "recovery-raw.img" and rename "magldr_recovery_3.0.2.5.img" to "recovery-raw.img"
Flash the recovery and partition layout using "DAF.exe" as usual and described in the thread of raiderx or the ROM provider
Boot Recovery with menu point "8. AD Recovery"
You're done

I take it u want to install TyphooN_CM7_v3.1.3 rom?...Then simply visit the ROM's thread for clear instructions on how to successfully flash it...Its quite straight-forward.
Clean Install MAGLDR:
1. Task 29 (Just for measure)
2. Flash Radio(2.15 Recommended if u haven't alrd done so)
3. MAGLDR 1.13
4. MAGLDR 130MB System/4MB Cache (ClockworkMod Recovery v3.0.2.4)
5. Install TyphooN CyanogenMod 7 .zip with CWM (boot in2 MAGLDR, select AD Recovery > Select Zip to install from SD card, Flash.)
i succeed install the rom. but now i am stuck on the Typhoon loading screen

You might have done something wrong along the way...Wat steps did take to flash the ROM? ...d kernel included in the ROM usually doesn't give problems as its been tested before release...did u flash another?
Yes i flashed hyperdroid and it worked, so i don't understand why it's getting stuck on boot with typhoon
Try the steps mentioned above by " voncrane " , make sure u do a task29 before everything and when u enter the recovery wipe full data / it should work if u follow the steps .

i cant find where the link to download typoon mod 7
Hi, i have this ROM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905060) on my phone (but Android 2.3.3) and i want to use this one. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=933951. Now its SPL 2.08 (or something like that) and MAGLDR 1.13. When I installed the ROM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905060) CWM was not necessary. Now i have to install it. So:
- Do I have to first flash back to my custom ROM or can I install CWM over the ROM I have?
- Do I have to flash back to my custom ROM to install the new ROM?
Helgon
enter magldr
usb flashing
flash cwm with partition of size listed in your target rom thread
reboot
enter magldr
ad recovery
this will start cwm
flash zip from sd
choose zip from sd
reboot
if you had any sd files, partiotions or whatever on your sd card, delete them first.
When I installed the ROM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905060) CWM was not necessary. Now i have to install it.

so does that mean you are on an old version of that rom? because cwm IS necessary to flash it.

- Yes, im using the 2.3.3 version
One question about the sd. Do i have to format it first? or just delete each folder and then copy the rom zip?

formatting sd is a good idea but not necessary. just put your rom.zip to sd. you also dont have to erase old rom.zip from sd if you need it.
