Running Cyanogenmod 6.1 RC2 on mytouch 4g.. everything works great, except in the info it says phone number is unknown. I went into Call Settings ---> Additional Settings and put the phone number in there, but it doesn't stick after reboot. I wouldn't care except one of my apps registers to the phone #. Any ideas?

a friend of mine just flashed his phone using a rom built in DCD's kitchen 3.0.0 and now when he tries to make a phone call he gets a messege saying his account could not be validated, the odd thing is data works fine, and if he flashes the stock sprint 3.35 everything (data and voice) works
we looked through his EPST and MSID and MDN are fine, only other thing we can think of is writing down every value shown in the sprint rom and comparing it to everything in DCD's rom, i was hoping we could find a simpler answer
Call customer service &
tell them you did a hard
reset.They will fix it for
you in 5 minutes.
yeah, he ended up calling last night, seems his MSID and MDN needed to be a different number than his mobile number, go figure
i have an EVO 4G, two days ago i flashed radio and ROM.
now the mobile can not open and connet to data network, the status aways display as: opening.
And, i can not make any change in EPST by ##778#, it displays some tips: radio no response, can not entry low power mode.
but i can use phone call and txt message. anyone can help me? thanks!
pls help me !thanks!
What radio? What rom? We need more info
We're comin from a pure power source.
Well the fact your phone / text work means your 1xrtt is working fine. The data part is whats messed up. You need to go to a sense rom, like an HTC stock rom, do a profile update, or do a ##RTN# to restore your settings, then the system will try to do an update. I had this problem when i swapped temporarily from my EPIC to my EVO. Voice and text worked but Data did not. I had to flash back to a sense rom, and ##RTN# to get the system to recognize it and reprogram it.
After that all was well.
Hello,
Got an old mytouch 3g from a friend to play around with. I used his sim to activate the phone and put in my google address then took the SIM out. It boots up fine and all and gets me to the home screen. The issue is when i try to connect to a hidden SSID, it says "not it range. remembered" but will not connect. My other phone is connecting fine. Whats going on?
Basic stock phone right after reset
using stock at 1.6
I had the same issue, but it worked again with a android version > 1.6.
tl;dr: Can't get mobile data to work, going back to CM7.
Here's my experience with ICS on an I9020A. I wanted to move up from CM7 which worked fine but was feeling stale.
I9020A on Rogers. Baseband was originall AUCKDK1.
I flashed the 2/26 CM9 nightly and the 2012-02-15 GApps. I had a number of issues:
1. Market 3.4.4 didn't work: when I clicked on a specific app it would FC. I ended up having to go back to GApps 2011-11-25 which would let me 'Uninstall Updates' to get back to Market 3.0.2 which worked fine.
2. Wallet FC'd constantly and ran down the battery until I froze it with TiB.
3. Very laggy. The UI is *very* slow compared to CM7.
I could have lived with these issues though in the name of ICS, but my big problem was that I never got mobile data to work.
The carrier signal bars icon sometimes seemed accurate but other times seemed to just mirror the WiFi icon.
I could connect to the carrier network (e.g. System Settings > About > Status would show 'connected') and *#*#INFO#*#* would show that I had an IP address and that everything looked good ('connection type' would fluctuate between HSDPA:9 and UMTS:3 which I think is normal). 'PPP Sent' would show that a bunch of packets had been sent, but 'PPP Received' always showed 0.
I flashed almost all of the radios in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1116884, to no effect.
I also flashed build 27 of AOKP and tried a bunch of radios but saw exactly the same behaviour, i.e. seemingly able to connect but never actually receiving any data.
I'm now back on CM7 and things are working fine. Bummer.
Check your apn. You need to setup correct apn for your data to work.

Hi everyone, noob here.
After installing CM10 on my Motorola defy the system was working almost flawlessly except for one crucial issue: no mobile service. After some major googling and checking up on the settings (IMEI is still valid, along with phone number, even tried to manually put in VPN settings) a thread suggested that I check my baseband settings. To my surprise, it had somehow defaulted to Europe and to some other carrier I hadn't heard of. I then switched it to North America (where I reside) but was confused as I noticed 2 T-mobile settings with some sort of version number next to them. (I run on Walmart family mobile, a branch of T-Mobile) I randomly chose one hoping for the best but sadly, upon restart my defy still remains with no service, but even worse, I'm stuck at the emergency call only screen. Is there any way I can return to the menu to change the baseband setting once more without totally erasing all data and flashing the device?
Well, I decided to repeat the installation process and am now back in CM 10, but even as change the baseband settings to the other T-mobile selections, I still receive no service. Changing the baseband to 'USA T-Mobile 3.4.2-107-9' causes a AT&T network selection to appear, but even selecting that does no good. Is an extra step required to make calls/texts with walmart family mobile on CM10? Does it have to be unlocked or something? I'm very confused.
