Hopefuly it's will be release in da 00:00 Jan.01.2011..... Calm down Everyone... it's coming ...........commmmmmmmmmmiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiingggggggggggggggggggggggggggg
I have no idea what he was saying but I'm assuming they were good things.
I think it's still take more more time before it has been release. So don't expect it to come soon or very soon, but it's still good to know it's development status.

lolz... you will get ur update in time... then there will be a new thread division named HD2 WP7 OS development or might be more ... like Q&A...
Don't get excited with it, WP7 on HD2 needs magldr which is not yet released and it was "coming soon" last 6 month and no one knows how much time WP7 would take to release after magldr release. It might be released by christmas, but only if we're talking about next christmas.
I don't blame anyone here, devs are doing it for free, so no deadlines or estimates, but please, stop posting a new thread with "wow, it's so cool, it would be ready soon, can't wait" each time you see "nand" or "wp7" word on IRC.
Seems like cotulla was just commenting on what he thought of wp7 as an os. And without live services it is pretty pointless anyway. The best news in there id that he is trying to finish up android stuff
maybe next xmas, I am waiting for some money and I'll change hd2 with dhd hopefully this year.
Well,that's good news
Patience
Before this thread goes on much longer, I ask you guys to read my post here
It is Cotulla and the Dark Forces Team (DFT) that are working on the ROM. One of the DFT members asked me to write that post.
I think it is the proper that we give Cotulla and DFT the time and space to do their work unimpeded.
As I stated in that post, any updates will be made upon their request, so there is no use for us here to speculate or re-post their comments. xda.cn comments, and hacking of a server, have already caused problems, and we should endeavor here on XDA-Developers not to also upset DFT.
Please note that what was copied and pasted in the first post of this thread is information from several days ago, before the events that are mentioned in my post in the above link. Any updates from DFT will be posted on that thread.
merry christmas everyone
dcordes Cotulla: if I want to flash android image to leo with megaloader, how to go about it ? where can I download megaloader and does it have instructions ?
20:37 Cotulla it's not released yet bcz still some things to do.
20:37 Cotulla but already near the end of story
MN_ cotulla did you get rmnet working well in the end on magldr
00:33 Cotulla yeah it's working nice
Magldr is almost out which means wp7 and android
wow,it is cool ,i am so happy
Wow WP7 is Coming soon!!
Can I asked a question??
Can I flash Android rom?? (Not use micro sd card)??
Is there any chance that this can be run the same as the android update thread... Kept clean and tidy with only updates in it?
Cheers

I think Android and WP7 will be released alongside with MAGLDR anyways..
So don't really see why this would be neccesary.
Make this thread for updates only, no discussion

+1 .. I agree .
Please delete all posts except those regarding updates
Better to change title too for like "Windows Phone 7 on HD2 Updates [No Discussion]" or something .
Shouldn't be stickied as well ?
Yeah, It's probably going to be released as soon as Magldr is but why not keep this thread tidy & clean since we don't want it to be like the other threads regarding WP7.
Because if we left it up open for discussion it might end up like this or this or this and probably it's going to get closed
Respect
With all due respect to you guys, I should like to remind you that the Dark Forces Team and Cotulla are the people who have worked hard on this project, thus it is they and they alone who should make any announcements concerning either updates or the release of ROMs.
As you may know, I was running interference for DFT's mwang to stop the nonsense going on in the other thread, but I gave up as it was mission impossible.
What I want to say is that I do not believe that in this thread, or the other thread, there will by any more authorized announcements about updates. Anyone else now claiming to have updates, or is copying and pasting, is definitely not authorized by the Dark Forces Team, or Cotulla.
I suggest that you just keep an eye on XDA-Developers and wait for an imminent official announcement.
We owe this respect to the Dark Forces Team and Cotulla, yes?
Update: there's a video of the final version of magldr loading up this was released yesterday. It's almost time for nand.
All respect goes to DFT, and Cotulla!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MJugZtIZVwc
I think 98% of people are waiting patiently an official announcement, but it will always be some who creates new thread with "cotulla update" as title.
At all events it's a good thing, that shows the interest which the person carries on the project even if there are sometimes overflows.
All respect to the DFT for their work, and thanks to rlydiard.

What Happen to the Polaris Project? It's been a while now and it looks like nothing's coming anymore inspite of all the promises. Do you think you've been conned to donate a device purposely for the so called "Top of the notch" ROM?
Olipro came out with the Hard SPL and that makes him a gentleman standing by his words but the so called Polaris Project release did'nt materialize other than a Bepe inspired/modified ROM that's not even worth keeping.
Common guys, speak out!!!!!!!!!!
You should add "I never donated and never will". Then I'll vote...
If you did'nt donate and will never donate then just tick on the last option.
this poll is useless.
donated is donated.
what would happen if olipro never found out how to hardspl this device? he would have a donated device.. would you call the money back? because you are 'not so happy'
these guys spend their free time on this. show some respect!
before i forget, did i mentioned this poll is useless?

some people just love to come back and whine constantly. they also forget to search and read whats going on. if you would have then you would know a 5 language 8 version release is coming. try making 40 roms and see how long it takes. its not easy to iron out as many bugs as possible.
edit: also have you noticed that we are at 0.4 right now. that means there already has been a few releases.

members like you keep me and the other cooks going. as we americans say... **** happens.... dates come and go and you can't always keep your word. i have released a few versions already and many people are enjoying them. they asked for a black version so im making and black version with all black skins and a blue version with all blue skins. they asked for a full, notouchflo, a medium, and a lite so they get those too. thats 8 versions there.
then there was other languages so since i work closesly with bepe i took language files from his last rom and updated what i could and made it 5 languages including wwe. thats 40 versions. how many cooks can say they have made that many versions and listen to what the people say as much as i do? theres a few and im happy to be one of them. so like the others i'll take my criticism and work harder because of it.

Hey Guys,
let's relax - it is ALWAYS more work than expected if it come to my experience in programming. Sometimes some people get overexcited or, as seen here, overanxious and frustrated. I would think he didnt mean it as aggressive as it appears.
If you are unhappy with the speed of development, why not speed it up? download a kitchen, etc. and start diving into the matter (there is most of what you need int this forum) and once you have some experience I am sure the cooks can always use a helping hand for some tasks here and there.
This way development gets a boost and the newly involved people will gain insight into the complexity of such a difficult endeavor like cooking a ROM, which will subsequently generate a lot of respect.
From my side I can only say: RESPECT!
and KEEP IT UP!

yo,
how about to release the wwe version now and release the languages when you fixed the ONE issue.
it could be we find more issues in the wwe edition. u can automatically update them in the other languages before u go again through 40 versions uploading.

I'm still excited by the Polaris project - the variety in the next version sounds fantastic. I am incredibly grateful for everything the xda-dev community puts into making the ROM what it is.
In saying that, I can understand why people are frustrated. The Polaris project was kicked off close to 7 months ago and so far there have been 3 beta releases. If there is anything at all we can do to help progress, I'm sure myself and many other people would be willing to do whatever we could to assist. Just name it.
At the end of the day, I'm sure everyone wants to see the best project ROM possible

you must also remember how long i had to wait for my polaris. it took a long time as donations were very slow. then you must also remember i was helping bepe with his roms at the time since we are a team. also i did have to play with the device for a bit and get used to cooking on it etc..
about the beta part. 0.3 i call a beta but as u can see in that thread its actually more like RC1 material. ill probably call 0.4.. RC1 and get bugs from that and then i also am waiting for the clearance on a new build then will make a 0.5 as non beta with all bugs fixed and the new build.
about releasing just a wwe... i though about it put i would have people nagging and asking for release dates etc... on the other ones. that would clutter the thread for others so i think its better to release them all at once. though since i listen to you all... if you want ill release the 8 wwe versions tommorow...
edit: though remember that uploading the 8 roms would take a good chunk of time away from fixing the 4 other languages

sorry everyone but i been busy trying to find a job. also some friends have come for the summer and are taking up my time too. add to that the july 4th weekend and you have a reciepe for a delay. though i have a good idea of the issues in non wwe roms.
now heres the issue:
the dial pad will not come up. i have narrowed it down to the sys and most likely a impcompatibility in the 19209 phone language files with the new diamond builds. ill have to ask bepe for some files from his german diamond rom or other non wwe diamond rom and see what helps fix the issue. wwe is not a issue since i updated the language files with the new diamond ones.
also btw i closed the polaris project thread since all the goals were reached. not bc of people b*******.
also i released previous roms with not too much fuss. now that im going mulitlingual and multiversion we have some fuss.
as i said before try making on your own the amount of versions im making and lets see if you dont also hit delays.

In my country, we have the similar problem, we dont know who has the rom, as far as we know is the tow videos released on the internet show us that our HD2 can really run the WP7. the individuals there are still waiting for the news, be patient, if there's any news of wp7 ON HD2 from xda.cn, i will notice you guys.
ok?
thanks woion0415, this is much appreciated
Thanks alot woion0415. Now go and find that ROM for us!!
Ok good to know, but why they don't share with us? I think atm they don't share with anyone, as there is no download at xda.cn.. No one says Russian don't share with us, only because Cotulla didn't release MagLdr to public yet so I don't think it would be helpful to post such offensive threads..
I don't think there is a flashable rom. I heard that they just have one of the test hd2s Microsoft flashed to developed wp7. Someone else said that the hd2 was flashed with wp7 with a jtag flasher, so if either of those are the case, which I'm beginning to suspect, there is no rom and may not be for a while. I would think that if there was a rom, somebody would've gotten whole of it or atleast know something about it.

Please do not let the fellow who wrote the derogatory post bother anyone. Even if he was joking, his way of thought is not indicative of the quality of people on XDA-Developers. Best thing to do is just ignore ignorant posts.
With that said, it will be fun watching to see who now comes up first with a working Windows Phone 7 ROM. Now that is what I would call healthy national competition!
thanks for the understanding
i must confess that i am not surf the net often, and i will not always focus in this title, but when i know any news from XDA.cn, i will come and tell the news. not for the few people who wrote derogatory post but the big family.
yah none of us users have a flashable rom, while we should be patient and wait.
and, thx to cottula&other developers who made it possible to run wp7 on hd2
by now, no flashable WP7 on HD2 rom released from xda.cn.....
i think there must be some reasons for them decide to do so.
the guys on xda.cn are also waiting for this.
I'm from chinese,as we konws, all of chinese are waiting for the rom.....
Thank for all of your informations, it's good to see people who can help us to anderstand.
In my opinion it's a global waiting
the video of wp7 run on hd2 come from a businessman ,as we can know from the sound in the video 。the day when the rom will release is hard to know
You say before it was meizu, but why, what interest for them to do that ?
fake
its fake !!! if you see the video look at the app is from 6.5wm , its just a shell no wp7 , we must wait cotulla

a Bag full of Thankness and Pleasure to the author :
Thank you for posting a bad image of us at their site (xda.cn) Now even there is a thread talking about the foreigner who went to the chinese website and registered but he didn't find what he was looking for, thus he called them fake and selfish ... you are now the talk of the chinese .. So they said that others think chinese aren't communist !! and they hated us .. you can see wonderful posts about us in this thread : bbs.xda.cn/thread-96523-3-1.html enjoy your journy.
A Little note,
when you want to express some feelings, try to make them individual and not to contain others with your thoughts
And btw neither us nor them have a flashable ROM, they are just like us, waiting anxiously for the release !
Please stop posting comments that it is fake, unless you can prove it.. This is only confusing to people.. For me this is like when cotulla posted a video of WP7 booting, I looked every day after it until I realized that it wouldn't come in near future.. Now we don't even know if it (chinese ROM) is for real, so calm down it's done when it's done..
Hello everybody.
I know that Cotulla has developed already his own Bootloader but I think it would be the best if we could use one Bootloader who are OpenSource so everyone could work on it !!
Now I searched for some Informations and found these very interested Article:
little-kernel-based-android-bootloader/
Here a little summary of the Article and basic Informations:
The bootloader does the basic task of hardware initialization, reading the Linux kernel & ramdisk from nand device and loading it up to RAM, setting up initial registers and command line arguments for Linux kernel and jumps to the kernel.
In context of support for Qualcomm chipsets and Android, the bootloader currently supports:
* Variety of nand devices for bootup
* USB driver to enable upgrading images over usb during development
* Keypad driver to enable developers enter ‘fastboot’ mode for image upgrades
* Display driver for debugging and splash screen
* Enable Android recovery image and image upgrades

Now we have to find some Persons who would help to develop little Bootloader !
Here are some thing who we are needing:
How to build Bootloader ??
How to build flashable Version of Bootloader ??
I think the first Point of work are to know how we could build Programm which are we could dump into "NBH-Files" to let us flash it ??
I hope that we could find some Persons who would help me with these Project !!
Greeetz Oliver
do you even know how to program in the first place?
This serves no practical application whatsoever.
Cotulla has already written a perfectly functional bootloader that can boot Android, WM6.5.x, and WP7. What is an open source version going to give us that this one doesn't. Let's all redo everything he just did, only not as good, so we can say it's "open source".
This isn't an OS, nor a kernel, nor anything other than a bootloader, it makes no sense to spend months redoing something in the name of open source when that isn't going to help us at all. Cotulla is probably the only person who could do such a thing anyways. How do I know this? Well, he's the only person who HAS done it. We don't even need the source code for this thing honestly. It's like messing with the source code for HSPL, there's no need. Once it's done, it's done, and no one knows that stuff better than Cotulla anyways.
What exactly are you looking to accomplish here?
Im an HD2 user and very interested in nand for HD2, as many others users, i really want to install android on nand. As i know, the android for HD2 now is ready, we are only waiting for bootloaded, but I feel that it takes forever for waiting this thing.
sorry for my bad english
Better to wait a while for the bootloader and have it built and tested right. If it is released early it has the protential to brick a lot of phones properly as it will be replacing the orgional bootloader. Be patient people, the devs are doing an amazing job!
OK now I read that nobody seems to be interested and we have to used Cotullas Bootloader I personaly break at this point and says thanks for the comments !!
MOD Please Close this Thread !!!

With such highly lyrical appraisal, I guess you must have MAGLDR flashed on your phone..?
Cotulla has been criticized by several developpers as talented as he is for keeping his bootloader closed source, even if it's his right. The point? His source code could inspire other devs working on other devices. So making a new bootloader out of scratch may be tough, I think personally that it's a good intitiative.
Without knowing everything at stake, what were you trying to accomplish here anyway?

Well I'm certainly entitled to my opinion, just as you are.
It seems fruitless to me for someone to take months to develop an open source version of a bootloader already developed.
The developers' time could be better spent on things as yet undeveloped.
I am sure that if developers on other devices want some help, Cotulla would be willing to help them on IRC anyways.
I have not seen actual developers criticize Cotulla for not releasing his source code for magldr, only a few forum members who have not developed anything.
The developers I have seen have all praised him for creating the bootloader, porting WP7, helping with NAND development and other feats.
Maybe I missed something...
Honestly it's not the worst idea even and I do see theoretically someone might want to attempt it, it just seems like a horrendous waste of time and it seems the best developers on this site have day jobs and I don't see them spending their free time redeveloping something in the name of open source.

You surely did miss something, it happened on htc_linux IRC chat, several times.
The problem is that MAGLDR is not out yet , and anything can happen today or tomorrow forcing DFT team to drop the project suddenly, sending all the work on NAND drivers LeTama, Gauner1986 and others did go to garbage.
The fact that one person has full hand to such a project has its pros, for it can be dangerous to deliver a bootloader that might brick phones everywhere around the globe out of the blue, and cons, since no one knows what may happen to threaten the project life.
So I think an alternative is welcome, and the point I agree with you, is that it should have come really earlier, like 2 or 3 months ago...but never too late it is friend.

I think Cotulla has got MAGLDR im not to sure but from my point of view, ide much rather wait for him to do it and have it done properly as he knows what hes doing rether than someone else do it and not having it work 100%.Cotulla has put an awfull lot of time and effort into sorting out this NAND and it will come,we just be all patient but when it does come, our device will be truelly awsome, having the abillity to boot 3 or more Os,itle deffienetly give our HD2 a couple of more years life before we get somin else, its been a while in the making and i reckon we could see it be released early next year.Well as the saying goes, all good things come to those who wait
Just wow again. I am always amazed at how impatient people reason...it is so...one sided.
It is the ethical responsibility of anyone making an offering to the public free or otherwise to deliver a product that is not harmful or damaging. If I started giving out free hot dogs on the corner, and warned the public that they MIGHT get e-coli if they eat it, how long do you think I would last before I was shut down for endangering the public...? Even with inanimate objects people have lost in court for damaging property with a faulty product that was given away for free.
If MAGLDR had been released and it was faulty this place would be inundated with complaint after complaint by the same people who are moaning because it is not out yet.
The OP's reasoning is WAY out there! Hmm I want a Playstation 4 , but it has not been released and who knows what is happening with it or when it will be out, so we should get a group and do this ourselves...
All I need is...
1. Someone to design it
2. Someone to build it
Really we get the right people, we could do it!
Gee. Original. Well covered. You are a project manager aren't you?
Excuse me, I need to go clean up some of this sarcasm.

Guys, this isn't a topic for your opinions. If you have something constructive to add to the topic of the thread, please do so, if not, I'll remind you that this is a developers forum and no matter how frivoulous an attempt you think it might be, it still has a place at XDA.
Locking this up as per OP's request.
If you ended up to this thread by just clicking on it, because you thought, it has got something to do with HTC HD2 NAND or New Keyboard, I am really sorry and I do apologize to you.
The only reason I have created this thread is because the way one of the HD2 forum moderators have just deleted a thread I created out of the blue! I could not find who, how and when deleted my thread but it's gone!
I don't just find it unjust but I also found it ridiculously childish behaviour! I nudge or a PM would have made better sense before deleting!
The OLD Thread that is now deleted din't do any flaming or spamming either! All I had asked was If any HTC HD2 developer would be willing to help us lot in TG01 forum in developing Android kernel, the way they helped out here. I din't post it in ROM thread or any other forum. I posted that thread in 'general Q&A' as that was where it fitted the best.
DEAR MODERATOR BEFORE YOU DELETE THIS THREAD AS WELL:
If you read any of this (unlike earlier thread) please CONTACT ME first! Deleting thread only because it's title said TG01 doesn't mean I am stupid enough to write TG01 query in HD2 forum! I have created this thread with HD2 and NAND in title - so that themoderator who can't even be bothered to read into the content will NOT delete this as the title relates to HD2!
To all the users who come to this thread:
I ONLY APPEAL to please be at my place and see this situation! I am not intending to flame, spam or anything! I wanted to ask for help from all HD2 developers so that our android development in TG01 forum which has paused right now due to lack of help and guidance can go forward. After all I thought XDA was all about helping each other out!
I again apologize to all users! I am not writing this thread to cause you any inconvenience. The old thread, had correct title and correct format of posting into XDA forums. I had followed all rules. Only because I asked for help for TG01 forum and not for HD2, it was deleted! Where else can I ask for help from ALL developers at HD2? Can't be sending PMs to hundreds of you lot - that would be spamming!!
Hey
Have you tried sending out just a few pm's to hd2 chefs, maybe someone will point you in the right direction,
also have you also tried the irc channels since your query is a dev related

Thanks a lot for the response!
Since I wasn't sure who the hd2 chefs are - I couldn't PM them. If you please guide me towards profiles of chefs involved in android port to HD2, I will PM them and see if they are interested in helping us out.
Also, am new to IRC. How do I go about that as well?
Once again, thanks for the answer, and I hope the mods don't delete this thread again before I get some help

Hey
Some of the main devs behind the actual HD2 Android port were Cotulla, dcordes, NetRipper, LeTama, Markinus, just to name a few, though i doubt you will get much response (with maybe 1 exception)
As for HD2 chefs, its a bit worrying to hear you say you're not sure who they are, they're fairly easy to find...
head over to the HD2 Android NAND Development sub forum & look at the author of the threads, if he/ she states its their build/rom, there is your HD2 Chef
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1040273
its not for me to suggest any names, just take a random pick, most seem friendly enough someone might able to give you some pointers.
have to say tho, really cant understand why you dont sell up & just buy a dedicated android or if you want something to tinker with, why not a HD2 (it is starting to show its age tho).
Anyways, Goodluck

Thank you very much for this answer! It helps a lot!
I am not a chef for HD2 forum roms. I mainly interact in TG01 forums. Hardly pop-in to these forums. Hence had no idea who is very active developer out here. But now the tast seems easier to contact them.
The reason I din't want to sell up (and mostly others out there too) is the contracts. We are tied up in 18-24 months contracts and as much as we hate the bloated OS that our respective carriers have put on this nice piece of hardware, we do want to explore the development on this device to it's max. Hence we were trying to see if someone could help us take the stalled development further on Android.
Most likely TG01 owner might move to android or WP7 in next 6-8 months and then the community might be dead, but android development on this device will bring a new life to enthusiasm

Uh...hello? Why are you asking this question (as if it hasn't been asked millions of time in other threads)? No one's apparently heard from DFT on their release, otherwise the info would be posted all over the forum! There are at least 3 releases of out there for you to update to NoDo.
Firstly this thread has a misleading topic/title. It reads as a statement when in fact its a question (which will likely annoy a lot of people).
Secondly this thread has no development related content or purpose.
I would suggest the thread is moved to the Q&A sub-forum and re-titled to better reflect the actual content of the thread.
As per my guess they are sold out to microsoft and will no longer be available to us for free updates. they got reward for their hard work. what we could have possibly given them, thanks buttons, beers, a few praising sentences. those can not run anyones' kitchen. still we are thankful for their great work.
annoyed
it surely annoyed me.
please all stop making such topics. only option we have is to wait.

I wish I had a dollar for every time I have read on this forum someone writing that they think DFT has sold out to Microsoft, and how many times DFT has come through. I think people tend to forget that the members of DFT have to work at jobs just like you and me to keep the wolf away from the door. It is not like the people on the team have 24 hours a day to work on these devices just for our benefit.
As I work on the public relations side of the ITC industry I know too that companies like HTC and Microsoft are making it harder to work with these devices and get access to things like needed code that is required to work the wonders that DFT creates for us.
People really should have a few more facts before they make blanket statements to the effect that DFT has sold out to Microsoft or some other company.
DFT updates will come out when everything falls into place. Also we should keep in mind that the HTC HD2 is not the only device that DFT works on.
