Polaris Project - Touch Cruise ROM Development

What Happen to the Polaris Project? It's been a while now and it looks like nothing's coming anymore inspite of all the promises. Do you think you've been conned to donate a device purposely for the so called "Top of the notch" ROM?
Olipro came out with the Hard SPL and that makes him a gentleman standing by his words but the so called Polaris Project release did'nt materialize other than a Bepe inspired/modified ROM that's not even worth keeping.
Common guys, speak out!!!!!!!!!!

You should add "I never donated and never will". Then I'll vote...

If you did'nt donate and will never donate then just tick on the last option.

this poll is useless.
donated is donated.
what would happen if olipro never found out how to hardspl this device? he would have a donated device.. would you call the money back? because you are 'not so happy'
these guys spend their free time on this. show some respect!
before i forget, did i mentioned this poll is useless?
regards

some people just love to come back and whine constantly. they also forget to search and read whats going on. if you would have then you would know a 5 language 8 version release is coming. try making 40 roms and see how long it takes. its not easy to iron out as many bugs as possible.
edit: also have you noticed that we are at 0.4 right now. that means there already has been a few releases.

members like you keep me and the other cooks going. as we americans say... **** happens.... dates come and go and you can't always keep your word. i have released a few versions already and many people are enjoying them. they asked for a black version so im making and black version with all black skins and a blue version with all blue skins. they asked for a full, notouchflo, a medium, and a lite so they get those too. thats 8 versions there.
then there was other languages so since i work closesly with bepe i took language files from his last rom and updated what i could and made it 5 languages including wwe. thats 40 versions. how many cooks can say they have made that many versions and listen to what the people say as much as i do? theres a few and im happy to be one of them. so like the others i'll take my criticism and work harder because of it.

pawel062,
There are some of us that just wait patiently and don't say anything like me.
So my contribution is to say thanks for all your work and keep it up.
How did your exams go? Any idea yet?

Let's relax

Hey Guys,
let's relax - it is ALWAYS more work than expected if it come to my experience in programming. Sometimes some people get overexcited or, as seen here, overanxious and frustrated. I would think he didnt mean it as aggressive as it appears.
If you are unhappy with the speed of development, why not speed it up? download a kitchen, etc. and start diving into the matter (there is most of what you need int this forum) and once you have some experience I am sure the cooks can always use a helping hand for some tasks here and there.
This way development gets a boost and the newly involved people will gain insight into the complexity of such a difficult endeavor like cooking a ROM, which will subsequently generate a lot of respect.
From my side I can only say: RESPECT!
and KEEP IT UP!

they went great. did very good on them im working on the roms as we speak. all languages except wwe seem to have 1 issue with the dialer. once its ironed out i'll have to go through the roms once more to see if i didnt overlook anything and i can release.

yo,
how about to release the wwe version now and release the languages when you fixed the ONE issue.
it could be we find more issues in the wwe edition. u can automatically update them in the other languages before u go again through 40 versions uploading.

I'm still excited by the Polaris project - the variety in the next version sounds fantastic. I am incredibly grateful for everything the xda-dev community puts into making the ROM what it is.
In saying that, I can understand why people are frustrated. The Polaris project was kicked off close to 7 months ago and so far there have been 3 beta releases. If there is anything at all we can do to help progress, I'm sure myself and many other people would be willing to do whatever we could to assist. Just name it.
At the end of the day, I'm sure everyone wants to see the best project ROM possible

you must also remember how long i had to wait for my polaris. it took a long time as donations were very slow. then you must also remember i was helping bepe with his roms at the time since we are a team. also i did have to play with the device for a bit and get used to cooking on it etc..
about the beta part. 0.3 i call a beta but as u can see in that thread its actually more like RC1 material. ill probably call 0.4.. RC1 and get bugs from that and then i also am waiting for the clearance on a new build then will make a 0.5 as non beta with all bugs fixed and the new build.
about releasing just a wwe... i though about it put i would have people nagging and asking for release dates etc... on the other ones. that would clutter the thread for others so i think its better to release them all at once. though since i listen to you all... if you want ill release the 8 wwe versions tommorow...
edit: though remember that uploading the 8 roms would take a good chunk of time away from fixing the 4 other languages

PDaviet, Aserg, UDK, Bepe, Swatos and Panosha released their ROM's without too much BLa Bla while you bombarded us with too much promises and alibis. Have'nt you learned your lesson when and why the original Polaris thread was closed?

sorry everyone but i been busy trying to find a job. also some friends have come for the summer and are taking up my time too. add to that the july 4th weekend and you have a reciepe for a delay. though i have a good idea of the issues in non wwe roms.
now heres the issue:
the dial pad will not come up. i have narrowed it down to the sys and most likely a impcompatibility in the 19209 phone language files with the new diamond builds. ill have to ask bepe for some files from his german diamond rom or other non wwe diamond rom and see what helps fix the issue. wwe is not a issue since i updated the language files with the new diamond ones.
also btw i closed the polaris project thread since all the goals were reached. not bc of people b*******.
also i released previous roms with not too much fuss. now that im going mulitlingual and multiversion we have some fuss.
as i said before try making on your own the amount of versions im making and lets see if you dont also hit delays.

I have enjoyed his roms so far and am happy to wait.
What he has produced so far works, so why the hastle.
There are plenty of other things in life to do so like pawel064 and me go out and do them.

This forum has become totaly obsolete.

over the last couple of months there hasn't been a new build or any other "big" news for that matter. all I see is a few kitchens and a bunch of 15 year old kids who use them to create and upload tens of ROMs (which are all basically identical and share the same functionality AND flaws).
too bad, this forum used to be the most useful source on the net for WM6 related discussions.
Aah come on, don't be like that. People over here are doing the best they can to provide custom roms (for people who don't have the knowledge of creating them themselves).
IMHO, if you don't like them you should create your own rom and use that one. Capice?
P.S.
I went back to the original O2 WM5 ROM about a month ago. no more crashes, missed calls, etc.
it just wasn't worth it.
I guess you missed the 'official' WM6 ROM that InGeNeTiCs posted here...
Use the force luke!...
I agree with both of you guy's, yes thats what I'm doing... It has become slightly irritating the amount of custom rom's being published by newbies. But guy's like Mattk. R, Zoki, Fariah and Molski are really working much harder then microsoft is even with there poor version's of roms and so called update's. Variety inspires competition. And if your not happy with any of them then do like the Wizard2203 said, grab a kitchen and start cookin!...
p.s. did u use the u.k. 2.19 radio rom? at the moment for most guys that's the only one that really works with wm6
mattk_r, Zoki, faria, Molski, mUn and few others whose nicknames I can't remember right now have my full appreciation. it's the newbies custom rom flood that is killing this forum.
I think I'll take a few months off this site and come back when the real, official WM6 (not SpAd's SuPeR OfFiCial WM6 [email protected] 3) will be available.

First Cooked ROM from Midget_1990 on Saturday!!

OK friends, before you start asking about exact times, I don't know and neither does Midget.
ltxda and myself have been in touch with the rest of the team and our ROM developer Midget.
We could have had a 90% complete ROM uploaded sometime tonight, just to see the extent of the ROM under development, but we advised against this as after all the wait we believe our donators in particular and the rest of the Athena community would rather have a 100% complete ROM worth flashing over our existing ones.
So there it is people. Saturday some time unspecified, we get our first completed cooked ROM form Midget. Don't expect it to be the final ROM though, as some will undoubtedly find something that needs tweaking or added to the base ROM, but given the time Midget has spent on it thus far, we can hope for a pretty stable and fast ROM as I know he spent a lot of time twaeking it.
Happy flashing this weekend.

Probably not, as it's so close to release, but no doubt one will be put together after the initial ROM reaches Final ROM status.
anxiously waiting
I cant wait anxiously waiting
Call it the "Disadvantaged" Rom !!!!!!!
Then we know it is for us peeps who didnt get the official update
Irrespective of the name I cant wait though, better start charging the batteries and take out the memory card so long ....
This actually give us enough time to do backups as well !
Thanks Cant wait
what about the ext-rom? is the problem fixed? is it unhide & unlock? is ther a way to be?
Special tnx Midget! Can't w8 longer.
Cheers, Hirad
today is saturday and still no rom!
yes and it is still saturday for another 13 hours (in britain at least)
Right at the top it says that there are no details about time so just chill out and wait for it.
No wonder people like oli and Midget get pissed off! They work damn hard for this place and all they get is whining!!
Even if they over run by a few days, just be grateful that they have done it at all, instead of complaining that it is late or wondering where it is!
I'll be waiting patiently and be thankful if it appears at all...especially as the Athena is not a huge seling device and is always going to be one of the least hacked devices for that very reason!

My Bad...Sorry next Saturday 1st September.
Sorry friends I made a mistake. I got in touch with Midget today to check on the progress, to find he's still away from a PC until early next week when he could upload the 90% ROM we told him to hold off from as Saturday would be the day for the Complete 100% ROM.
Stupid me assumed it was this Saturday. I re-checked my txt messages from Midget and indeed he did say 'back early next week and can upload 90% ROM then and complete ROM by Saturday'.
Sorry all, my excitement must have got the better of me.
cool man it's ok we can wait!
Anyway currently for the cooked ROM what's the advantages/disavantages or any items included/excluded? New to this kinda stuff just hope my questions do not seem dumb.
hey guys! cool down! i'm really sorry for that kinda posting! 2 proud of myself... u know? sorry now i really apreciate this situation and this hard working from both of our heroes(Oli & Midget)! and mackaby007 it's not your fault we are all excited to see the first cooked rom for our devices! have nothing to add on this! 2 sorry man.
Cheers, Hirad

More like bricks & toast, if you don't know what you're doing!
I think we all just need to calm down and wait patiently for the ROM. Midget did wonders on the Universal, and now we will get the same great ROM style on the Athena - so we wait....
It's not as if we dont have an interim WM6 we cant use? If you're really desperate then bung on the one that's been available for a few months and then do it again when Midget's is ready - otherwise just stop bugging the poor guy!!
Let's prepare for the forthcoming ROMs.
Hi all. I don't know all the details, but I know this much;
Midget has been working on the Dopod u1000 version ROM, but has changed to be a default European ROM (last I spoke to him) and has made optimized it for speed and reliability, getting rid of unnecessary ****e etc.
He was already very close to completion a few weeks back before his PC died on him. So he had to put most of the ROM back together from memory alone, plus the usual setbacks of life.
Expect a new thread for the new 'Cooked ROM' when it arrives. It will be tweaked with some apps included that should be standard in all ROMs.
For those who are new to ROMs and cooked ROMs, look at it like a software container for the Operating system and specially chosen 3rd party apps etc. Once you flash any ROM with a different one, you completely loose all your previous data, except what you have on the MicroDrive (MD).
Now is a good time to get all your favourite .cab files and exe's (for which you need to use Active sync to install them) ready, as you can't use back-ups from apps like Spb Backup or sprite, to restore your old backups onto a new ROM. Well you can, but you'll have lots of corrupted software and may be putting back what was thoughtfully removed from the cooked ROM.
So a cooked ROM is something made up by an individual to replace the default ROM you get from the seller/manufacturer of the device (all THEIR customized crap).
A base ROM is like the absolute essential parts only, i.e. the WM6 ROM and those apps needed to retain the original functionality of the device as when you bought it....like a stripped down version. Then the developer adds what he thinks will make a fast and stable ROM. In this instance the developer Midget_1990 is doing this for the Athena Project, which was formed and funded by many members of Xda developers and some others from other forums and parts of the world, as this is not the common device for most PPC owners to have and we needed help in getting it unlocked (SIM free and capable of having any HTC Athena ROM being flashed to it, without bricking it).
Olipro (Developer 1 and top notch low-level programmer) has already fulfilled his obligation to the project, by developing and releasing the unlocking tools for the Athena and also made our devices virtually unbrickable due to his clever method of Hard SPL patching the Athena. Thanks Olipro.
Midget_1990 (Dev 2, VGA ROM Cooker) is to use his specialist knowledge of the VGA Universal (he's made some great ROMs!) to make an VGA WM6 based cooked ROM which will enhance and improve the basic functionality of the box-standard WM5 Athenas we originally bought. This is somewhat more time consuming, especially as 'WE' the project contributors and community here, have rather varied requests in what we would like to have in this first ROM. So finding the balance of what works best and doing the actual work and in some cases conversions (i.e. TrueVGA compatibility) is what Midget is up against.
As an incentive both developers were given an Athena each for themselves with an understanding between them and the contributors, that this 2 fold objective could be realized.
We're more than half way there with Olipro's Athena Unlocker and we'll soon have completed our objectives once Midget has released the first Cooked ROM...soon amigos.
So....let's be patient just a little longer and continue to play nice, after all, we will still need Midget to support this or future ROMs for the Athena if it still needs tweaking or amending e.g. Athena Project ROM v0.1 or 1.0, if you follow my drift.
Also it was clearly stated that the devs not be hassled or pressured by anyone, but that has already happened...let's hope no more.
Don't get me wrong friends, if any one is unduly rude or derogative towards you, you have every right to retaliate...only it's not in any ones best interest to argue on these types of forums.
Word to the wise; when this or any other developer releases a ROM in the future, we'd do well to read up well, before asking questions that may have been asked dozens of times before and try to point out what does not work with the ROM and why, if you know, or positive suggestions and feedback.
This is my last long post regarding this project. LoL yeah, thank God!! everyone cheers. ROFL. Seriously though, it's been a bit of a struggle but mostly rewarding and made some really cool new buddies on this forum.
Thanks to all of you in the Athena community and beyond, but most of all a big thanks should go to the financial contributors, without whom this project may never have taken off as soon as it did or even at all.
No more to say.
See you around in the forums.
P.S. If you have something negative to say, please PM who you are not happy with and let's keep this forum as a civilized developers forum for all interested parties.
And one more thing, if I may humbly ask all non-new members or visitors to NOT abuse newbies as they are by no means fools just because they are new to this and deserve our respect.
As others have mentioned before, if someone posts a stupid question or something that has been asked a thousand times, simply point them to the wiki or give them the right keywords to put in the search engine as the wiki is still under development.

Lots of good ROMS: how to choose?

Hi everyone and thanks to all the coockers that are working on new beta roms for our Polaris.
I've read all the 3d about the different coockers/release and I can say for me it's not easy to try all of them.
It's also difficoult to stay updated on every release news, fix and so on.
For me would be VERY USEFULL a 3d in which summarize avery release with all the caratheristics, positive and negative fatcs and so on.
What did you think about it?
Bye
HELLO i agree with you..
It's a good idea, but I'm not sure you'll find a quick reply.
The main trouble with the Touch Cruise is it's limited implementation globally. With the only US supporters having to import it, and the high price pretty much everywhere, I've noticed the general Polaris "community" isn't nearly as positive or helpful as the Kaiser thread community is. That doesn't mean EVERYONE is a jerk, but it's frustrating to have come from a device and forum where there were tons of people with a positive attitude, all sharing ideas. Here, it seems like most people just ***** about the device they bought, with only a few people (most in the upgrading forum) looking to make the most of it and improve it.
I've been waiting for someone to release a Diamond rom that would work on the Touch Cruise, simply because I like the analog clock look. But I don't have any real interest to force Office 2007 on myself, as I've used the app and don't see any real improvements over Office 2003. But this post isn't about which version of MS software is best.
Anyway... here's hoping the gurus of this forum stay upbeat, keep up the good work, and someone can "port" the Diamond VGA driver to the qVGA device. On the surface, it seems like a simple idea. But you have to wonder if the video chipset in the Polaris just isn't all that without more horsepower behind it, and maybe a better screen. Maybe that's why the Diamond is the new king of the pile. I'd love to upgrade to it, but just having bought my Polaris in Feb. or so, it will be a LONG time before I can justify ANOTHER new device.
Anyway, my compliments to the masters for all they do, and best wishes to those with a pretty cool phone!
My request is only trying to make an unique post in which all the coders can list their ROMS with the list of apps inlcuded and positive and negavite facts.
So when a new owner of the device came here can choose without loosing his mind in looking for informations in thousands of post.
That's all here....
Bye

its a good idea. but comparing various roms is a full time job and i'm afraid not many people have that kind of time.
This thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=373233 has been around for a while with a list of Roms, I think thats the best you are going to get, it's just updated when it can be as far as I can tell but its came in usefull for me. Not sure if you missed it but it's been on the first page for a while. Unless I've missed the point and it's something else you are after?
The polaris is a good device and I've found help and support on these forums but its still quite new. I upgraded from the XDA Orbit and thats only been out just over a year I think, a lot of people bought in to 18 month contracts and so wont be upgrading for a while. I'd just bare with it and if you are unsure of anything, just ask.
My favourite ROM at the moment is Bepe's just because it's win 6.1, fast an clean then I've modified it to the standard I want by adding apps and tweaks. I've tried other roms but they are all at such early stages of development that a lot of them aren't really practical for day to day use as they can be very flakey. This won't last forever though.

Donate to Haykuro!!!

Hey, it just occurred to me that if everyone who CAN donates $20.00 to Haykuro, he will have himself a nice little fund starting up. If you can donate more, do so. This kid deserves our REAL thanks for all of this work. Lets pony up guys.
17 years old and kicking open source ass... he deserves to be rewarded.
EDIT: Find the link to donate on his iphoneproject.com page.
I'll surely give some $$$ if he can quickly fix market issue
by the way, your URL is invalid for paypal.
I donated a while back!
I donated a while back as well. What bugs me is that we have so many other people working on this like Daproy and Korndub and they get no $$$ or recognition for the most part. I say that Haykuro needs to set up a fund and split moneys received between people who contributed to this. None less, he is a genious.
I've had the same concerns as you.
I think Darkrift worked on this as well. Probably when the builds are pretty much complete, someone should put a list of everyone who contributed so we can send them all something as well.
I had some ppl offer donations but I have not worked on this nearly as much as you guys think. What I have done was my way of donating to him since I am poor and cannot do so with paypal. I tried to beta test when I could, write up tuts, answer questions and much the same as everyone else in the thread did. I do not know the extent of the others who are helping so I cannot say the same for them, but I personally have not been working hard enough on this to deserve donations (unless you wanna send me a free G1, I will take that )
If you feel the need to donate to me, send it here https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=4290101
Everyone has been very generous and caring, and I thank you all for that.
This post will give credit where it's due, and let everyone know what's up (clear some confusion).
History of the builds:
1. xmoo and his anonymous source post up a leak of the system folder from a developer magic (or something similar).
2. Everyone on XDA was going crazy, of course, and I tried to explain how to get it to boot properly, and no one listened, so I took it into my own hands to release a functional version.
3. After some talking with barakinflorida, he gave me the idea of implementing aHome into the build that way we had a home screen (at the time, no home screen was available as aCore crashed when you tried opening it).
4. After a week of running it, i noticed a OTA update being pushed (noticed it in logcat) i pulled it and released build 4.
5. I noticed the SPL and posted that, with the proper changes in update-script for the dream. Same thing with the radio.
6. korndub noted that my update-script for the radio was messed up and simply stripped down the update-script (not sure if you guys remember the recovery errors on my radio update, as opposed to korndubs stripped radio update).
5. A week later I got some info from darkrift which led to build 4.5.
6. After some personal tinkering i got google apps from 4.5 ported to build 4, and called it 4.9.
7. 5.0 was then released after daproy noted the camera and audio fix in the master branches of the kernel. he also kindly donated a pre-compiled kernel, saving everyone time from waiting for me to find a linux comp i could compile on.
8. Since then me and daproy have worked together to bring you the next builds. daproy provides me with the kernels, and i do everything else.
I think in the end, the people who would deserve donations would be up to you.
But this is the history of how it all came to be
I would prefer it were told like this (much more heroic):
5.5 Darkrift daringly put the life of his precious G1 on the line to test out various beta builds that haykuro made in a half asleep state. Fending away fire and deadly battery pulls, he made sure everyone who flashes one of those roms would still have a working G1.

Excuse me for being a NoOb, but here goes....
.... Is it possible to send my girlfriend through paypal? If so where can I find a "how-to"? It is very well deserved.
If she is hot, just send pics :S
Just donated $20 to the man ............. hope others follow and donate.
Keep up the good work man!
I donated a decent amount to hay and never even got a thank you. I will not donate again to him. The least he could have done was sent a thank you...
I'm gonna go ahead and give a big thanks to Haykuro/Darkrift since trying to install a2sd for the first time by following Darkrift's instructions led me to write my original tutorial(how passe that tutorial of mine seems now..), and subsequently my appstosd app, which led to the unionfs method and appstosd2. Of course other people helped along the way(TheDudeofLife, MartinFick, JF) but it was really Haykuro and Darkrift that got me going.
In short: you can partially thank both of them for having unionfs(somewhat ironic considering it was Haykuro's ROMs that never implemented it (j/k man, I think I had enough trouble trying to debug my script with TheDude's ROM))
EDIT: Upon rereading I realized that this could be taken as somewhat backhanded. I didn't mean that Darkrifts instructions were so bad I had to write my own. He intentionally(I now fully understand why) left out some parts of the process and I thought I'd take up the torch and try to have the whole thing in a way I saw as a little bit safer(or at least less scary).

I only started this thread because I know that this kid is 17 and still working on getting his HS diploma, also holding down a job AND working on these roms. Even after he was burned by someone on the forums, he came back when it was ready and gave us Hero (with a NEW Rosie smell)... He continues to put out roms for us and now the canucks with the Rogers rom. I also just saw that there's a Hero rom he just put out for those running Magic/Sapphire devices. The kid continues to work hard on this stuff and I think he deserves to be rewarded. No matter who was helping him get stuff to make the builds lets remember WHO brought the first cupcake to the masses... Now he's brought us a GOOD (not great yet, but it'll get there) version of a rom that we aren't even supposed to have ACCESS to!!! I, for one, think that this guy should get together with JF and Dude and whoever else and start a consortium and start getting paid to develop for Android. This is the OS of the future (for now) and there is some serious need for dedicated programmers who can make it all work... I think he is more on top of it than anyone out there...
That's what made me post this... I have donated a couple of times to the kid, and I'm not done. It's not to pay him for his product, but to thank him for working his butt off on something that he doesn't have to and then giving it away to the masses (again, he doesn't have to)....
So again, Thanks Haykuro and I hope your situation changes soon... Keep up the coding man....

? Was this responding to mine? I was honestly thanking Haykuro as well... (maybe I'm misunderstanding something?)

No necessarily... I was actually just trying to explain why I singled him out for donations. I don't know him personally, have never seen the kids face... All I know is that he's been dedicated to making the device better, and sharing it with all of us, all the while going to school and work, dealing with everything that comes with being 17! I noticed some posts that mentioned all who helped him, and that's fine. This is about helping a kid who really needs the help. Who knows, Steve may be the next Gates or Jobs!!!
lock close delete, this is going to end up being one of those fanboy threads that get ugly.

I'll surely give some $$$ if he can quickly fix market issue
by the way, your URL is invalid for paypal.

that's a permission issue most likely, run the "auto lucid" .bat program on these forums and it can restore the permision to apps2sd folders

Only if someone tries to make it ugly! And for the record, I'm no-one's fanboy. Let's look at it this way... In a community, those who have the means help those who need and deserve the help. Haykuro is in the latter group and a lot of us are in the former group. Would you have a thread closed based on the fact that you don't agree with the material? Does that sound like the way things are done on this board? If it is, I'm out!
EDIT: Mods, if you feel there's a better category than Dev for this thread, please feel free to move it...

i think it s a very GOOD idea !!!
every body work on 2.1 , but if every one goes on this idea , i think we can try froyo
a unique and comon good rom
but is every developer are going to work in a same and good rom ???? that is the question
they all have a good experience in 2.1 so why not a 2.2 ..... now
As far as I can tell this is allready happening with the abyzou rom. I recon 5-6 ppl are working on it, or atleast they have been.
2.1 that is, and so far it works perfectly with the exception of the camera, being worked on though
I can help make web.
where have u seen many artists painting one peace of art?
Programming is like an art! Everyone have it own style! I doubt it would be possible to make such a team, as everyone would like to put something from his own in it, while other one wouldn't like it!
Some developer can help other, like someone could help abyzou rom to get camera and sens! Then the person who helped could use working camera/sens for his own rom.
i can be one of your testers and if i've time i can try to study something to let it work on froyo
Work in such kind of things in teams its very hard if there is no leadder,no competiton and more than 2 or 3 people.
Frist of all the leadder has to set the objectives and asign each team member a work.
As i can see in the forum there is a big
cooperative spirit and i can asume than all of you visit tattoo forums frok your contries.
We are a lot of people.
We need someone to lead all of us, someone testing, programming or weathever...
But for teamworking is better to own a laedder.

I agree.
I will make team for making colaborative ROM. Just create the rules.
i'm here
ikxdf has just made a 2.1 nearly completely functional. Support him now and then we all could work on a 2.2 porting
I m ok for testing every thing
got tattoo and teamviewer for help ........
can format for windows or ubuntu ......
with froyo , we could have google earth on tattoo lol !!! nice
I can be the "leader", but i don't want to give orders.
But, i think the ROM must be basic...
Basic, i want to say no more apps installed (as Twitter, ...) just, basic apps.
Then, i think we cam make a team with a lot of developers even if each developer has his way of...
The Tattoo community is welded, i'm sure of that.
But everyone must play a whole...
What do you think honestly about that?
I'll modify first post if people are ok for try this big project...
I m ok for that
i have not lot "competences" but can help with the few one ......
so we got a leadder (gabsx23)
i thnik that your mission is give peaople work to do.
and fix the priority objectives, a kind of primary mission.
as the itilian developers team (alberto, ikxdf ... you know them all) is finish right now the eclair version (its awesome guys) i would focus on froyo...
i propose as primmary mission to do a bootable version of froyo...
what dou you think guys?
and gabsx ,it would be great to start with creating a froyo rom post start as soon as possible in a tiddy way.
(im sorry for my bad english...)
well dudes... lets start.
will you start from N1 update.zip?
We can but it's not the good release...
The good version of Froyo coming soon (Google say ^^).
But we can start with an other 2.2 official ROM and wait.
I just want already to make a good team for preparing that.
Do you think is it a good idea?
Yes, why do the job 2 times? better waiting for the "real" stable version..
