People is 100 dollars for original droid a good deal? It has adobe flash player with power v chip like 3d graphic similar to iphone3gs and nexus one.
Did I do a good deal on buying a device like this?

What are the chances of Droid X coming to UK?

what you guys reckon?
if you sourced one in the uk would it even work?
Don't tellme us brits have to settle for the milestone xt720?!
I must have a 4.3 inch screen with android dammit!
Get the HTC Leo and put Android on it. It's running really smooth already.
I'll look @ tje leo thx.
Tho mu last attempt to do any kind of rom tinkering left me with a brick!
thx tho - willcheck it out!
lr
yeah what are the chances of seeing the droid x come to europe?
Have to say, give less of a crap after seeing galaxy x vs droid on you tube AND. The htc ace that's coming in october. If mot wants to act a **** and not release ans iphone killer in the uk - somwqhere that iphones are rife, then it doesn't deserve that share of the market IMO
I agree with you, but the Ace looks like its going to have the poor Snapdragon (with crappy GPU), and the Galaxy S is great hardware wise, but i can't get over the look.
Moto need to bring this to Europe soon.
I want to know how one would notice the crappy gpu tho?
we talking games or video playback?
games mainly. i've seen some of those comparison vids on youtube between the nexus one and galaxy s. The difference is huge. And now that android is booming we're going to see much more demanding 3d games and im scared im going to be left in the dust if i get one of those "outdated" snapdragon phones. If HTC upgrades to the newest snapdragon line then i'd be ok wit that.
Fair play, I don't play games on em, other than the utterly kickass bonsai blast lol.
Does the gpu help with video too?
I think I saw trhat speedtest, the nexus 1 flew in the app tests.

[Q] Thinking about Switching -

I've been back and forth from switching from the Inspire over to the Atrix...Just curious if anyone in here has done that, and What (if any versus the Inspire) are the Pro's/Con's to Swapping devices....
I believe i'm still covered under AT&T's 30 day exchange deal, so lets hear it...What do you all think?
If the inspire had a BETTER, speaker phone, battery, I would have stayed with it.
The ringtones and music play so LOW it's pathetic! And battery life is not as good as the atrix, UNLESS you don't use the phone much. I don't care much about the hacks that suppose to fix somethings, it will never be as good as the atrix in those areas. Because of this I was inspired to go for the atrix
The atrix on the othe hand, has weak camera and its flash is weak too. I like that it's much smaller than the inspire.
The fellow I had the pleasure of speaking with at AT&T was pretty quick to tell me that I would be paying quite a lot for more for the Atrix than this Inspire...It sounds good, but is it truly worth swapping?
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
...... how exactly did he come to that conclusion?
Good question....my guess was partially because I bought this and my wifes crackberry Torch for $79 bucks each through their lovely retention department...I figure I will call them in the morning
Sent from my Inspire using XDA App
I just exchanged my Inspire for an Atrix and it cost me $103... Not exactly a bank breaker.
If I Swap to the Atrix, I Seriously refuse to pay anything more...DOUBT I'll get away with it, but you'd figure a Like for Like exchange of some sorts...supposed to call my friends over @ Retention again this morning, so we'll see...
There its a lot of threads talking about this, even a comparison between 2 devices. Next please use search button

Your opinion is duly noted - However If I wanted to use the search button to find a bunch of other responses and or posts that dont pretain to what I want to know, OR ask what I wanted to ask...I would have. Thanks for your input
My take is that the Inspire has a better display (not resolution but brightness and colors) but the Atrix has more to offer in the long run.
I also figured out how to get great battery life with the Atrix. Your mileage may vary, but I use Exchange via Hotmail for my sync needs and changing it from push to 15 min intervals has extended my battery life to more than a day. With the Inspire, I was never able to make it through an entire day without charging.
The Atrix also has a great speaker and plays Angry Birds with zero lag.

really?
you are aseking about cons and pro's nothing else.there is a lot of them....
for example

and was in the first page when you create a brand new
Despite its MANY shortcomings, the Atrix still is the best phone to have today. Maybe the EVO 3D or SGS2 might steal this title, but it still stands strong.
A solid contender today is the Nexus S.
Frankly, my advice would be to get the Atrix, hold on to it till the end of the year, and get the next multi-core Nexus phone. It might also have a 3D screen (to encourage development of 3D apps), who knows?
But I gotta say, I found the lack of 720p HD recording on the Nexus S to be unforgivable. On the other hand, the Atrix can't play unmodified 720p mkv movie files, while the Nexus S can....

God I hope not... I owned a 3DS for a grand total of 24 hours because some unfortunate people like myself can't look at a binary 3D screen without nearly painting the floor with what we had for our last meal... I'm ready for 3D to die... JUST DIE!!! Get out of my video games, off of my phone, and back into James Cameron's garage!
imho
forget the atrix an get a lg g2x! totally unlocked bl pure android getting gingerbread in june Hdmi mirroring great camera Ill let you find out the other benifits Goodluck on your choice!

i see a new inspire vs atrix thread everyday on this board, you are just asking pros and cons and there are many threads already on the subject addressing the exact same question you are asking....honestly can people not make decisions for themselves anymore, just look at the specs and reviews and choose the one best for your needs. its not complicated....
Atrix is beyond the Inspire. Can't believe people think the Inspire is better. I think Moto should have waited to optimize its device for dual-core and launch it with GB...but whatever, it is still the best on the market right now. Atrix sits #1 on the charts according to pcworld

Meh. Some people like to ask questions to the community instead of reading different threads. At least it's semi-on topic. Guess that shows how cynical I've become after 16 years of posting on internet forums.

Epic vs Xperia Play?

Aye guys, haven't been able to be around much on here, but I saw the commercial for Xperia Play on verizon and decided to research it since I'm one of those people that got the epic for the keyboard to game with, so obviously the Play interests me lol.
I can't find any Epic Vs Play reviews though, so I'll ask XDA haha.
I notice the play has a Snapdragon, is it the same one as in the Evo? And I never heard of the graphics chip in the Play, does it beat out the one in our Epic?
I'm epic biased just like I'm sure most of you here on our epics forum are but I'm looking for honest opinions, so look past our love for our epics for a Sec and answer legitimately please
So do you guys think the Play will be a disappointment coming from the Epic or an improvement? (Speed wise and otherwise as well, give your reasons why or why not also).
Thanks.
I think your best bet would be to go into bestbuy and play with one but imo id pick thee epic everytime.

I think the play uses an adreno gpu.
It was outdated when it was released. It was a great concept but the internals killed it.
Specwise, epic is better in every category.
Gaming was one of the reasons i bought the epic, but it wasnt the only one. If youre gonna get the play, you better make sure you have a **** ton of games
Actually i dont even think theres emulators anymore BECAUSE of the play. I think the only way to play games is with the official ps store on the phone itself

Thanks for the comments guys, yeah the gamepad isn't worth downgrading internal hardware.
Is there any word of any new phones coming out with a gamepad but with updated hardware?
Sad the Fascinate is better than the Play yet the Fascinate is $50 cheaper lol gotta love marketing..
Heres what i got to say look at sam caplats review on the xperia play it sucks, and heres another thing verizon expensive bill vs cheap bill on sprint.

Soooo.. WebOS is dead. What now?

HP said it's going to try to find something to put WebOS on now that it's halting all device development (death of TouchPad, Veer, Pre3, et al). Did anyone see this coming? /sarcasm
This thread is as dead as WebOs LOL!
I just took a look at a german distribution shopping system, there are thousands of devices at the storage sites ... I think we will see them in a soon future on ebay wow on a bargain
yes a bargain! $149 32gb, $99 16gb
I just picked one up for $90 shipped...I'll take that all day long.
The rumor is that HP has a licensing deal already in place and the quarter million TouchPads sitting at Best Buy are going to be picked up by all the "geeks" (me) for $99 looking here for a way to wedge android on it...at least it's a flash player.
Personally, I'd love for Samsung to buy WebOS and start putting out awesome hardware to go with it.
But I love conspiracies.
Vote Ron Paul. lol
Picked one up. I hope that they give the ability to load an alternative OS, but it is doubtful.
I wonder if we can use the base code from the new Evo3D and Sensation on there because of the similar parts.
Hello, I couldn't find any ... where did you find that price that still in stock ..?

so what is going on in terms of development? is there any real hope for having custom firmware and running AOSP android on this or is that a pipedream without source code? Does source code even matter anymore if you completely replace the OS?
I have to say for the price, I am very much happy with my HP touchpad, just got a 32gb one for 150 at staples. I hope something does come of web os with some developers or maybe android someday but I am happy as it is for the price.
Well, opensource.palm.com has parts of the OS. Maybe someone can use that as a start?

WebOS + MeeGo = awesome os!
But seriously they're very close/related systems that it wouldn't take as much work as some would think.
Then they could probably name it Maemo
Which would allow Google to rename "ChromeOS" to "WebOS" like it implies.

I agree! I got this today thinking "with a community this motivated, surely they'll have android on it soon enough!". Now that i've used it, I like it a lot. The core apps are great! I love the e-mail and calendar apps and bing maps works very well for me. I have a samsung captivate so android is something I know fairly well but I don't feel like i'm missing too much with this tablet as it is. I think this is a diamond in the rough OS and if they open source it, it will really take off.

Which phone do you like better? HTC has a better camera. Nexus will have fastest software updates. If internal storage is an issue: HTC.

i owned a HOX, now is my wife phone,
now i hace a s3 and n4, and i tell you N4 is mega smooth, never has a smother phone, is smoother than galaxy nexus.
n4 is a google phone so you will get faster updates.
you can get more battery life with n4.
for me N4 is better than HOX.
Let me just say this is the One X+ Not the one x. There are a few differences that make it quite a different phone. Personally I wanted a nexus 4 really badly but after reading some of the issues about the Nexus 4 I'm extremely put off and the One X+ is most likely to be my next purchase. The main reason was the 16gb of storage. Just isn't enough for me.

i think that the extra ram and cpu speed of the nx4 dosnt worth the trade vs 64g with prefect build and screen of hox+

I personally would get the one x+. I currently have the one x and its amazing. I had a lot of androids and it comes down to a lot of factors when choosing. Here are questions I'm currently asking myself..
Do you like Sense or stock?
I actually like stock but I can live with Sense, it's not horrible and not as pretty as stock 4.2 but no harm.
Do you like faster updates or would you flash ROMs and get them anyways?
I would love to get faster updates but I also like the hunt and flash new ROMs so it didn't matter really. The android community had got you covered.
HTC camera or stock 4.2 camera?
I love the sense cam. I never used the N4 camera but I guess it's mediocre except for photosphere.
LTE or HSPA+?
If you're area is covered in 4G LTE, this is a no brainer. I would take the One X+. See screenshot.
Storage?
N4 16gb or 1X+ 64gb. You can live with 16gb as I have with the one x, but with 64gb you can definitely live more.
Styling?
I actually love both. The N4 and 1X+ are the best design phones, ever!
Price?
Nexus 4 retails for $350+ tax for the 16gb
One X+ is $550 retail and $200 New or upgrade.
The nexus price is very attractive. I can sell my current one x for $300 and get a N4 for another $100 or so (taxes, shipping and bumper) whereas the one x+, I'll be putting up close to $300 more.
It's a hard decision and I know it's not easy because I'm going through the same predicament...
Chip?
The Tegra 3 or Quad Snapdragon? All about preference and gaming if you all me but I can't tell the difference
Let me know what you decide because I need help as well lol
sent from rooted 2.20 & always flashed 1X
