Any ideas why? or possibly its a bad pit. I got it from a public dropbox, seems to be the same one everyone links to.

You are not supposed to re-partition... Unless you are building your own software on your phone and are going to build Android from scratch for yourself, I don't recommend it.
EDIT: Oh, I know what you did... Did you watch the Gingerbread video on how to get your Galaxy S Phone?
That doesn't apply to Samsung Fascinate or any other Galaxy S... The Fascinate is the i500 and not compatible with GSM models. I don't know what to tell you if you did it. I just got done trying to help another guy get his right... It wouldn't flash...

no, i was messing around with voodoo5 kernel but i did stay with 2.1 i flashed stock kernel over voodoo without any prep work

All the pit files floating around for the Verizon i500 are the wrong size, I have attached the correct one here.

After flashing to full stock with Odin, if the phone stays or on a blank screen or recovery loop try this other flashing program called Heimdall in which you can select the components of the .tar archive and exlude the MoviNAND.bin file if that's failing in Odin.
Make sure you read the Readme.txt file carefully because you have to install special drivers for this to work.

If it unbricked your phone consider some donation to the dev... great work
Also, here's the full stock DL09 file.

Enjoy!

[Q] I accidantally updated i9000 firmware on i500

Not knowing about that (I'm a noob on androind. sorry), I followed darky's gingerbread like rom update method through odin on YouTube.
After that I can't turn on my cell.
I've found some similer articles, but It's not working.
Plaese, Help me.
Try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=867648
You should be able to recover from almost anything, as long as you can get the phone in to download mode. If you can't get it in to download mode, it's a brick.
If you need instructions on how to enter download mode, search is your friend. It's been discussed several times here.
Thanks,
If you don't mind, can you tell me where can find for CSC file?
I can't find that file for VZW
Thank you again.
You shouldn't need any thing but the file from that thread. Download the file, put your phone in download mode, start Odin on your PC, connect the phone to the PC, and flash the file you downloaded with the PDA button. I am assuming you have the drivers for your phone, as you used Odin to break it.
Adrynalyne's all in one .tar should completely restore you phone to stock. You will need to root it again after wards if you want root again.
Yes. I did.
But, Odin fail to update my cell.

Just to confirm you downloaded the file from the thread above (rather large file), removed your battery, put your phone in download mode, started odin, flashed the file you downloaded from the forum using the *PDA* option and not the *PHONE* option correct?
Yes I did. but, only the recovery file has a problem. the others(system and Kernel) have no problem.
I followed that article - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=782204
Well download it again to make sure that it's not corrupted. And try again.
Your phone should be fine. Either that or try the CWMrecovery from the ClockworkMod/Rom Manager thread.
Next time... Please do not flash anything that is not specifically labeled as DI01 or DJ05.
Also, can you get into Recovery?
Because if you can, you should wipe and flash a DJ05 Rom.
I trid to flash System, Kernel and Recovery. But, System and kernel worked well.
Only when I try to flash "Recovery", Odin failed.
Odin only shows this message.

This comes up a lot. You didn't put your tab in download mode.
What were you trying to flash and what ROM did you have beforehand? The Odin results you post look like what you get if you have tried to flash an un-signed ROM onto a Tab with signed bootloaders.
I had JMF then i flashed Modaco Kernel ext4 and then i flashed roto v4 upgrade

Hmmm. I don't really like suggesting this but you may have to flash JM6 complete with bootloaders, PIT file and repartition selected to bring your Tab back to life. This will leave you with the horrible signed bootloaders but you can get rid of them with the app from Chainfire / Rotohammer and then you'll be free to flash any kernel you want. Be very careful flashing bootloaders as if that flash fails you could end up with a 'hard brick', please don't blame me if you choose to follow my advice and your device dies.....!

Bricked my Phone?

Well I just had my phone replaced today due to a bad proximity sensor. I got home and decided to update it to EB18 with root from this thread. Well Odin crashed on me. I tried again and selected Odin3 1.61, selected the pit and tar, selected repartition (per instructions) and clicked start. I let it sit for 30 minutes and still no response. This is the response from Odin and the phone is in download mode with no blue progress bar. Odin is recognizing the phone when I connect it to the computer.

The 1 + power button puts me in download mode. Whenever I just press the power button I see an icon that is a cell phone + caution + computer. I've tried two different cables (one even worked 100% on my old phone), different USB ports and different computers. I tried the stock tar/pit and even the Samsung update app for 2.2. I still cannot Odin this phone successfully. Anyone have any other ideas?
Try Odin again, as long as you can get into Download Mode, you are NOT bricked.
Be sure to follow EXACT instructions.
If it was bricked it wouldn't turn.on at all. Its like that cause it doesn't have anything to.boot up. Try downloading the tar file again.

Well you guys must have brought me some luck. I tried Odin1.7 and it seems to be successfully flashing DI18 rom. *crosses fingers*
Edit: After hours of trying it finally flashed successfully to DI18 but will not flash to any other version (EB13 Extended will just sit at "Set PIT file..").
Are you using a pit file? Of it flashed to di18 and wont to eb13 then try redownloading the tar file. Might be a bad download

Yep I'm using the .pit that was included with the EB13 Extended archive. I followed the instructions and checked Re-Partition and then it sits at:

Another odd thing is if the phone is turned off and I connect it to the USB cable, it will boot into the Android system recovery (2e) automatically.
I'm at a loss on why this will not flash. I had zero problems with my last phone (other than the stupid proximity sensor) and this replacement phone just wants to fight me.
Don't use the pit file when trying for the regular eb13 file. Sometimes the pit file causes mine to fail so I quit using them. Try that once.
Sent From My Evo Killer!
Still no go. Keeps failing at params.lfs. I've tried 2 computers, 3 different usb cables, multiple usb ports. I don't know what to do.
Re-Partition checked = Sits at Set Pit File and then nothing.
Re-partition unchecked and with or without pit file = automatic failure.
I spent the last few hours and $35 replacing this phone for nothing.
I appreciate the advice though.
Well I finally got EB13 installed. I pulled out an old netbook and installed the Samsung drivers.
1. Started up Odin3 1.61
2. Removed battery from phone
3. Connected USB cable to phone
4. Connected USB cable to netbook
5. Power + 1
6. Added s1_odin_20100512.pit
7. Added SPH-D700-EB13-8GB-REL.tar.md5
Funky but I finally have a working Epic 4G. I ain't even going to try to root this bastard.
I believe EB13 extended is already rooted.

Can't flash files using Odin

Hello guys,
I am trying to install CWM recovery. As you certainly know the easiest way is by flashing the file via Odin.
Thing is I'm having a hard time trying to do what might look easy at first glance.
When opening Odin 3.09 as administrator, it is able to recognize my rooted 9505 (I'm on Samsung stock firmware) whenever I'm in download mode, but after selecting the corresponding CWM file and clicking Start, I get the following:
<ID:0/005> Added!!

I tried flashing the PIT partition file for my phone model, but I also get this:
<ID:0/005> Odin v.3 engine (ID:5)..
<ID:0/005> File analysis..
<ID:0/005> SetupConnection..
<ID:0/005> Initialzation..

<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)
<ID:0/005> Removed!!
I tried flashing the files independently and both at the same time. It always failed.
What can i do? I really don't know what else should be done to fix this.
I'm getting
Secure Check Fail: apnhlos
when I try to flash any PDA-compatible file in Odin.
What does that even mean? Android sure has some of the most cryptic error messages I have ever seen.

The thing is that i have managed to actually root the phone via Odin using CF Auto root ( I had to click "Start" twice, but i ended up successfully rooting the phone)
I just don't know what I'm doing wrong this time around that it's preventing it from flashing files
Any more ideas? Cheers.

Same problem here, the only difference is I was just doing a firmware update via Odin and something went wrong (I don't know what). The phone says "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again" but Kies is not recognizing the phone.

Hi,
download a stock firmware from updato. In Odin select all of the files. For CSC file use the normal CSC file (not HOME_CSC).
In addition, select re-partition and flash.
Odin gets the PIT information from the CSC file.
