Hello guys,
I am trying to install CWM recovery. As you certainly know the easiest way is by flashing the file via Odin.
Thing is I'm having a hard time trying to do what might look easy at first glance.
When opening Odin 3.09 as administrator, it is able to recognize my rooted 9505 (I'm on Samsung stock firmware) whenever I'm in download mode, but after selecting the corresponding CWM file and clicking Start, I get the following:
<ID:0/005> Added!!
<ID:0/005> Odin v.3 engine (ID:5)..
<ID:0/005> File analysis..
<ID:0/005> SetupConnection..

<ID:0/005> There is no PIT partition.
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)
<ID:0/005> Removed!!
<ID:0/005> Added!!
I tried flashing the PIT partition file for my phone model, but I also get this:
<ID:0/005> Odin v.3 engine (ID:5)..
<ID:0/005> File analysis..
<ID:0/005> SetupConnection..
<ID:0/005> Initialzation..
<ID:0/005> Set PIT file..
<ID:0/005> DO NOT TURN OFF TARGET!!
<ID:0/005> Complete(Write) operation failed.
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)
<ID:0/005> Removed!!
I tried flashing the files independently and both at the same time. It always failed.
What can i do? I really don't know what else should be done to fix this.
I'm getting
Secure Check Fail: apnhlos
when I try to flash any PDA-compatible file in Odin.
What does that even mean? Android sure has some of the most cryptic error messages I have ever seen.
Have you tried using Odin 3.15?

Oh my bad. I was mistaking it for another program.
The version I used to root my pho e was Odin 3.07

Also I presume you have the Samsung usb drivers installed?

Don't forget to exit, or better yet uninstall, Kies... This can affect flashing too...
Did you use the original samsung cable for flashing?Using another cable often cause issues.

The thing is that i have managed to actually root the phone via Odin using CF Auto root ( I had to click "Start" twice, but i ended up successfully rooting the phone)
I just don't know what I'm doing wrong this time around that it's preventing it from flashing files
Any more ideas? Cheers.

Same problem here, the only difference is I was just doing a firmware update via Odin and something went wrong (I don't know what). The phone says "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again" but Kies is not recognizing the phone.
Please help!

I tried it Odin isn't recognize the device.
He's not in download mode anymore, this is just the phone telling you it doesn't have a connection to a machine to get boot informaion from and that there is no firmware to boot it self from.
Do a battery pull and read one of the other 99 threads with the same title as yours.

I did they all say pull the battery and hold both volume keys till you get into Download Mode (which isn't happening) then flash a new ROM. And those post are for other galaxy devices haven't seen one for the Epic.
what did you do before this happened?

You don't hold down the volume keys on the epic. You open the keyboard and hold the 1 key and the power at the same time. That will put you into download mode. Than odin should recognize your device.

Reboot computer and phone. Try a different USB port, try a different USB cable. Phone MUST be in download mode for this to work. Keep trying, if it fails, exit Odin, open it again and keep trying. Be sure to unplug and replug the USB cable between Odin attempts.
Some people have had success by removing the SD card prior to using Odin.
Keep trying, it can take multiple attempts before it works.
Its working Thanks your the best...

issues with Odin
I ran into a lot of issues getting Odin to flash the stock ROM on my Epic, including Odin errors, and Odin hanging on " SetupConnection..", but here's what I did to finally get this to work:
-pulled battery and SD card from Epic
-launched Odin just after a reboot of PC
-plugged into PC via USB and held power and the 1 key to get Epic into download mode (SD card and battery still pulled)
-used PIT: victory_8G_100528.pit
-used tar (in PDA section): SPH-D700-DG27-8Gb-REL.tar
-only had the option "auto-reboot" selected
With this scenario, I was finally able to get my Epic back to stock. Thanks to everyone who posted before me on this subject.
On a side note, I'm not 100% whether or not my phone was bricked, but it wouldn't get past the initial Samsung boot screen after I had tried to install some non standard software.
Things started after rooting my galaxy y.
I root galaxy y. After that i was trying to update this into jellyblast. But it stuck at the middle of it after reboot i found that mobile drop down menu also gone. Now i only have one way to go. Format mobile. But when i tried wipe data it return me an error E: not able to mount.
Now i was trying to restore it via odin3 V1.85 but it stuck there also.

Sorry, but you can't mention the name of banned roms here. Anyway, try to install USB drivers for Galaxy Y here. If you can boot your phone, enable USB Debugging in Settings> Applications> Development. Make sure to download stock firmware from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1465800 and flash it via Odin.

Banned roms are ROMs that are banned by xda members. It is caused by violating xda rules. Example, Jellyblast rom were banned because Avijit (creator) linking to a download which took you to an ad site and Nemesis is banned because containing warez and steal other's work.
better to install kies first

Question:
Is this your first time flashing Odin?
Yes: Then first install KIES, but your stock driver is preferable (you know.. the one that comes with the box) to avoid incompatibilities, the install odin; i personally use Odin3 v1.85 and it has never failed me once.. and I have tried almost every ROM and kernel for Y. Close KIES before flashing.
No, I have done this before: Did you try another USB port or another computer? Assuming you didnt interchange the 3 files when flashing, did you remove the battery and let the fone discharge for atleast 1 minute and also did you remove the SD card. Sometimes there are files and script from your custom Roms that messes with odin so remove SD card prior to flashing.
There is another method you can do, I myself have used this twice to get out of a quite sticky softbrick... but I do not recommend it, Using a totoro pit file. If all other method fails this will MAY get you out
1. after placing PDA, MODEM and CSC... put the totoro pit file on "PIT", LEAVE BOOTLOADER ALONE!!!
2. Click repartition and NOTHING ELSE!!!
3. Click start
4. Hope for the best:fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:

Now tried to root and install openrecovery-twrp-2.6.0.0-jfltexx/CSB_signed_Fusion3_EUR_0325_V2 from odin and it says pass on all of them.

Hi,
Since I dont have 10 posts and cant post on the Android Development forum I guess I need to post here instead. I flashed my I9505 with Android 4.3 v.2.2 of this firmware http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2341026 , which worked awesome except for a couple of force close and reboots. Perfect LTE and HSPA. I recently flashed it with the updated version Android 4.4 v.2. Everything works awesome except LTE or 3G, when trying to use those 2 the phone does not connect to a tower, doing a forced scan and connect works for a very short while and I get kicked off. Forcing 2G/Edge works perfect though!
1. When I flashed 4.4 V2, is it possible that it may somehow changed my radio firmware or can this only be done via odin? (I used philz to flash to 4.4 v2 without doing a full wipe, I wanted to keep settings/apps etc)
2. When checking here http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/2/ under I9505 and my country South Africa(Vodafone/Vodacom), the radio version on the site and on my phone correlates
GT-I9505 Galaxy S 4 LTE
BASEBAND -> MODEM: I9505XXUBMGA
What may have caused the phone to loose HSPA and LTE connectivity?
Thanks in advance for the replies.

Again I ask what is the exact/correct procedure to do a flash for I9505? I assume I should extract the RAR first to a .TAR which I did and then what?

You have to extract it and then you open odin and select phone on odin and find the file you extract then on your phone power off manually and wait 5 sec and hold power+volume down in order to go to download mode and connect the cable andpress start in odin . done/

Same problem and lost all data on my phone now:crying:
Edit:
This modem I9505XXUEMKE-MODEM seems to work. From the thread it is a ROM issue, I hope I now have enough posts to post on the developer section. Other people had the same complaints, I seemed to be one of the first.

did u find a fix?
xxuemke modem didnt work for me
I flashed with latest I9505 firmware from Sammobile website. Updated Radio, bootloader and camera firmware automatically! Then you can flash whatever you want. You must also check that the modem you use is compatible with your country.
