Hello,
I tried flashing a Modem (MH5) in Mobile Odin, but it hanged at
----- Modem #2 -----
- Clearing ...
for 20 minutes. I turned the phone off and wanted to try again, but the phone doesn't finish booting. It boots for a minute and I can see the boot animation of my rom, but then it reboots on its own.
Then I wanted to flash the modem with the normal Odin but that also doesn't work.
This is what it says:
<ID:0/008> Added!!
<ID:0/008> Odin v.3 engine (ID:8)..
<ID:0/008> File analysis..
<ID:0/008> SetupConnection..

<ID:0/008> Get PIT for mapping..
<ID:0/008> There is no PIT partition.
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)
I still get into the recovery, but there are no flashable modems for the i9505.
What do I do now?
Okay, I found a PIT file from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2265477
Flashing it worked fine.
After that I tried to flash the modem again, but it failed. This time with a different error:

port 3 and port 8???
what is happening? change usb port and disable kies and antivirus from task manager, reset odin. repeat procedure
Do you have any device connected to your pc other than your android? If Odin recognized more than 1 com, probably there are other device connected via USB or kies is interfering with odin.
I had the same problem. I tried different USB port and newer version of odin and that did the job.
Sent from my GT-I9505G using xda app-developers app
It had nothing to do with the USB Port.
After flashing the PIT file failed the phone displayed the message "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue . Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again".
Then I downloaded a stock Rom and flashed it in combination with the PIT File on the same USB port as before and it succeeded. After that I flashed TWRP again and I could restore my backup. It was a long process, but my phone is working fine again.
After restoring my backup I could also flash the new modem and now I have better reception.
Got the same situation (Odin flashing failure, PIT error, ended up with the "firmware upgrade encountered an issue. please select recovery mode in Kies & try again") trying to flash a new modem.
When I change the cable AND usb port, everything goes OK. Run Odin (the same 3.07), connect my i9505 with the "firmware upgrade encountered an issue. please select recovery mode in Kies & try again" and just flash the modem again, it works now.

Mine was a USB issue. Tried rebooting my laptop, phone, changed usb port, then finally changed USB cable and it worked ok.
Flashed PIT file with firmware.
SOLVED!
SOLVED changing usb cable and port. used the original cable with another usb port and it worked fine.
Hi
I tried to re-partition my Samsung S3 mini with a custom pit file with Odin v3.07. This is Odin output, looks ok:
<ID:0/003> Added!!
<ID:0/003> Odin v.3 engine (ID:3)..
<ID:0/003> File analysis..
<ID:0/003> SetupConnection..

<ID:0/003> Set PIT file..
<ID:0/003> DO NOT TURN OFF TARGET!!
<ID:0/003> Get PIT for mapping..
<ID:0/003> Firmware update start..
<ID:0/003> RQT_CLOSE !!
<ID:0/003> RES OK !!

I'd like to remove the recovery partition and resize following system partition instead. The download menu on the device prints a red warning "Custom pit file", which I ignore.
After rebooting the device, I can't see any change, the recovery image still boots and the red flag in the download mode disappeared.
Why does it not work, I tried already different checkbox combinations on Odin.
Regards
Edit:
The problem was, that I tried to repartition the device without flashing the images. Instead of Odin, Heimdall throws an error.
Good Morning all. An about a week or 2 ago I was asking about a knox and all of the things related of it. Finally I decided to root my mobile (i9505), but unfortunately whenn i connected it and tried flash a recovery with Odin I got this message

I know that my partition table is corrupted, but i don't know why. I never before connect my mobile
1) Is it possible to brick my device when i flash a PIT file? I got one from this thread
HTML:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2265477
2) What might to corrupt my Part table? I updated my rom via OTA.
Hello I recently rooted my phone on 5.1.1 (Lollipop) and everything went well no issues till last night when I tried to install xposed installer and ended up soft bricking (I think) my phone, where it will turn on to the samsung s6 edge + logo and just sit there and won't go any further. I found out how to flash to the original firmware using Odin 3.10.7 and with the stock firmware file.
now I put my phone into download mode and connect it to Odin, put the firmware file into the AP section and hit start.
Once I hit start I get a fail message and this :
<ID:0/003> Odin engine v(ID:3.1100)..
<ID:0/003> File analysis..
<ID:0/003> SetupConnection..
<ID:0/003> Initialzation..

I've tried different firmwares from different sites, different odin verions, USB ports please help
I tried uploading pictures and links to the firmware I used but apparently I need 10 posts before that so if you want to know anything else in order to help please ask.
am non rooted trying to flash a different firmware and I get the same. I remove the OEM lock but cannot flash anything
odin 3.10.7 works
You write SM-G925W8 that´s S6 Edge, not S6 Edge+!!! Try firmware for SM-G928W8!
ok, so i tried rooting and it totally screwed up my phone...
i tried unrooting by installing stock firmware through odin, and this is the error i got.
<ID:0/007> Odin engine v(ID:3.1203)..
<ID:0/007> File analysis..
<ID:0/007> SetupConnection..

make sure your phone is in download mode. once your in download mode plug in your phone into a usb connection to your computer. make sure to also use the stock odin that you can find on xda and you can also just download the firmware
HTML:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-galaxy-s7/how-to/firmware-stock-sm-g930a-ph1-odin-files-t3458890
load up all the 3 files normally and it will wipe the phone off completely to stock.
normally if the ids don't match that means the firwmare you downloaded is not the correct version for your handset.
Looks like you're either putting old firmware on or incorrect firmware.
Which model S7 do you have and which firmware are you installing?
