So i've got my x10 rooted now. Is it possible to download a stock android 2.2 rom and flash it on to the x10? or do we have to wait for more devs stuff to happen before we can load roms on?

Rooting is only half the battle, now the custom ROM's have to be created especially for our devices. We are going to require x10 software drivers for froyo.
Hello, I just have a quick question about this, is it an update that we will be able to just run on our phones or is it only going to be installed on new phones?
Cheers, Craig
We will get it but I doubt it will come straight away.
Thanks for the quick reply! I have a rooted DHD, will I be able to update or would I have to unroot. Thanks again

once the source code hits the custom ROM dev's will get it ported to the DHD, if the froyo and eclair situations are repeated it will hit your DHD much quicker from them, than the official port
So, I've had my epic since launch day. First android device, came from palm pre. Loving it. It's rooted, custom ROM and everything. I have learned so much about the epic and android so far. Just wondering about rooting other devices.
I guess my main question is does ROM manager play a big part in custom ROMS for other devices. From what I can tell, we don't even need or use ROM manager for the most part. It seems some other devices can just be rooted, then install ROM manager which you can flash clockwork through. Why is it the epic doesn't do it the same? Just curious question. I know all about it with the epic, but other devices I'm still clueless on. Thanks
Yeah I know some of the other devices you dl rom manager and use it to flash cwm recovery. I honestly don't know why koush hasn't made the epic compatible yet.

So, this is the reason we don't do it that way? Koush just hasn't made Rom Manager compatible with the Epic? I just figured we started it another way and just stuck to it.
Hi,
I've got a Samsung SGH-i917r v1.3 from Rogers. I don't know if I can flash the same ROM as for SGH-i917. If yes, what's the difference between SGH-i917r and SGH-i917. I don't want to brick it. Thanks in advance.

Same hardware, AT&T one is text branded. Rogers and AT&T phones have different ROMs, AT&T has more "stuff" but Rogers is cleaner. Yes, you can switch the Rogers Rom on AT&T (I have one like that) and the other way around.
Chances to brick re minimal and they all come due to flashing. If you do something wrong there then yes, you can brick it.
if you have doubts flashing a At&t rom onto ur phone then i suggest you flash this one onto it vt2912 ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1571866 its based on a rogers focus 1.3
I've been switching back and forth between rogers and at&t customs roms and i've yet to encounter any problems
Has anyone successfully installed an Android ROM on the Samsung SGH-i917?

You're offtopic, but I'll let this one slide: not yet and probably the first thing to check is project Haret. However, as an Android owner, I don't really understand why you would want that. De gustibus..., I suppose
hi
i just bought a new atrix from a guy and i look in the about info and find it is for bell mobility in Canada. what i am concerned about is is being able to update to ICS when they release the update.
i am in the usa and on the att network
bell may not even offer it. what should i expect. thanks
ps i want the official motorola update only.
thank you for your help
I wouldn't worry because we're not getting ics. If it was going to come out it would have had a leak by now.
And fyi you should never use a stock from anyways, go get neutrino or epinters.

nope.avi
Just because nothing's been leaked it doesn't mean that we aren't getting the update. I just means that nothing's been leaked.

That's just stupid.
First of all, you can't tell people what to do.
Second of all, many important parts of custom ROMs wouldn't even exist if it wasn't for stock.
Plus, you're missing the point entirely.

Don't know, I don't actually run stock, but I do recognize its importance.
BTW it's ravilov.
No, you will not be able to update to ICS even if you're running under AT&T network. The Bell Atrix 4G which is an international version of the Atrix is not the same phone as the AT&T version. Best bet is to unlock your phone and either flash one of the existing ICS or Jelly Bean ROM's, or wait for an official release and hopefully a stock one or a ROM based on the stock one will exist.

No one said you aren't. Just if you are, it won't be through AT&T.
