How to dual boot my HTC HD2 - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

I downloaded the android build [BUILD]UPD(27.11.2010)MCCM SE V3.4(FroyoStone Sense)[kernel hastarin r8.5] I just wanted to know how to get this thing to dualboot up? Any help would be appreciated?

search for JMZ dual boot. install it to the phone in windows, its a cab file. reset the HD2 and it should boot to an option screen saying Android on top and windows on bottom.
Cheers...

OK, I downloaded that file to my computer, but I need help with getting it on my phone from windows mode??? Can someone help me with that plz?

Ok got the files on my phones HD still wont dual boot? Do I need to put the files in a certain folder?

Just download one of the roms from the android developement thread, copy the android to the root of the sd card.
Then use jmz dual boot, should work

You have copied the JMZ cab file to your phone , but have you installe it? just use file explorer to file cab file and click on it to install. then reboot.

Ok so I got the boot loader installed, I get the dual boot screen but cant do anything with it and it ends up loading windows. I am a noob ath this, can someone help me with the issue?

ok I got it but now when the screen comes up with android and windows the time out runs backwords -1, -2, -3 and so on...... What is up?

Android for Touch Dual (Nike)

Has anyone got a version that works on the Touch-Dual, i have tried the Polaris version but it crashes while booting, i posted the following in a different forum and was basically told to ask again here.
Anyone got any idea how to get this (Android) working on the HTC Touch Dual (Niki)? I downloaded the latest Polaris package and put all of the files on the root of my memory card. I closed ActiveSync and disconnected from the computer then without editing any of the files i run Haret, this boots into Linux but sticks on the line
[ 1.510565] Polaris kbd open_
I have had a very old version running but its really is probably the first image that was released and its pretty useless, any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

[Q] How to do rooting...?

hi,
i am new to android community and i read the MARTIN's softroot procedure. I could download all the required packages but when i run the INSTALL command on my vista HP 32-bit OS, it says DEVICE NOT FOUND.... in what mode i have to connect the device ??
please explain me the complete procedure of doing rooting....
just send two files(softmod.apk&superuser.apk) to card and install as http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=757191
You can use appinstaller on your phone, or use htc sync to install it to your phone.
Or just send em to your pone via bluetooth.
sorry i'm new to booting also. which folder do i place the files ?
Thanks to all above...
And you can keep the files anywhere in the card...

WP7 working good but cant load XAP files

im having trouble loading XAP files to my HD2, i have the tom's installer and they load onto the phone that appears on the computer but when you go and click on each item to install they all have a different reason for not loading some talk about dll files and the camera give a longer error message. i would like to get this all fixed before i try and load the android onto the phone thanks for your help. i used the Tech1 Easy DWI Installer to get wp7 on my phone.
I dont know what camera is in the WP7 file that i loaded but it seams to work fine there is a list of XAP on the HTC HD2 site that i have tried with no luck.
Thanks for any help
anyone able to help
I can't install .xap too, but for me the Tom Xap installer gives mee an error saying to check the Phone is unlocked & Zune is launched.
& i checked on the phone, app isn't here.
When i installed the Rom the 1st time, Zune made 2updates itself, maybe it's the cause. (But i updated with DEV_UNLOCK.cab)
So i wonder if i've to reflash? due to encrypting of the SD card, there wont be any issue?
you must do hard reset after upgrade to Mango RTM.... go to Settings, About, Reset
I was getting the check phone to make sure it was unlocked error also i think what took care of that problem was in the tom's i checked the emulator instead of device.
[solved] XAP can't sideload
It missed the hardreset after the first installation as well. But it's essencial and everything works afterwards perfectly!!! Nice
Hi
I have done the reset after installation, but still cant load xap files.
Tried with Toms but it gives back an error "phone not connected ....."
When I look in the meny on the phoneAdvanced config is there but when I try to execute
I closes after 5sec.
Anyone Please.
Sorry for my bad English

lol
i know that .exe is not an android extensio. but please guide me what shall i do to upgrade from froyo to gingerbread. i have already wasted 6 hours since morning in search of it but found nothing helpful.
every where i found these same steps
"First of all you need to download the Android 2.3 Gingerbread AOSP Build for your HTC HD2 device and need to save the same on your desktop.
Now, you need to copy the Android folder into the root of your SD card.
Now, you need to run the exe file with the name CLRCAD.exe on your HTC HD2 with the help of file explorer.
After running the exe file you will need to run the HARET.exe on your HTC HD2 device"
Offcourse all these steps are for windows but i did not find any help regarding upgrade from Froyo to Gingerbread.

Android Flasher 2.2.0.5 won't start with Win XP?

Hi, I can't post directly into the existing thread (Noob), but I've tried Android Flasher 2.2.0.5 and it gives the old "Android Flasher has encountered a problem and needs to close" Microsoft warning. I'm happy to pay for the Pro version, but need to know it will run first.
I'm running WinXP SP3, and have a HTC Desire, rooted with Unrevoked 3. FYI, I could get Android AIO Flasher to start, and communicate with the phone, but it crashes when I try and convert pics to IMG. As I only want to change the splash screen, I thought AF would be the solution.
Anyone else hit this snag?
It'd be nice if I could just message the author
Thanks, Rod. ..... Nope, no quotes here.....

u could try this for changing splash screens. basicaly it converts bmp files to nb. and once its converted u just rename nb to .img and u can flash via fastboot commands.

thats a wee TUT on how to use it.
also u can use almost any free online image editor to convert jpg, png files etc etc to bmp format. this is just another way around changing splash screens
thanks handy5876 for this
