i know that .exe is not an android extensio. but please guide me what shall i do to upgrade from froyo to gingerbread. i have already wasted 6 hours since morning in search of it but found nothing helpful.
every where i found these same steps
"First of all you need to download the Android 2.3 Gingerbread AOSP Build for your HTC HD2 device and need to save the same on your desktop.
Now, you need to copy the Android folder into the root of your SD card.
Now, you need to run the exe file with the name CLRCAD.exe on your HTC HD2 with the help of file explorer.
After running the exe file you will need to run the HARET.exe on your HTC HD2 device"
Offcourse all these steps are for windows but i did not find any help regarding upgrade from Froyo to Gingerbread.

JustStable is a ROM. That's an equivalent to an Operating System on your computer.
Metaphor: Sure, you can run Linux off of a CD Drive, but Windows, no way!
Your SD card in your phone is similar to a CD drive. So, NO, you cannot install an operating system (ROM) onto your phone's SD card.
And one more thing...Flashing a ROM (installing it) isn't nearly as simple as installing a program. Just like how upgrading your Operating System on your PC compared to installing a program on it.
If you wanna upgrade and flash to JustStable, tell us, and we've got some guides that you can follow.
what's the first thing you download

First thing you do is go to: www.thewingster.com
Then you go to the ROM's section. Pick your ROM. Do NOT pick a ROM that says, LZX. Once you found a ROM you like, locate the How To Flash this ROM link on the ROM's page. Follow the instructions.
As it says, first, you download and extract your ROM. So, you return to your ROM's page and click DOWNLOAD. Then you unzip or unrar it. You might need 7zip for that.
Then follow the rest of the instructions. Got it?

It should just fine. Let it stay connected for a while, it has to download the Windows Mobile Device Center, so that takes some time.
If you're on 64-bit, it still should work, but I've heard some problems with that.
make sure the device has been hard spl'd. or use uspl to flash.
sorry for being slow but could you explain most of the terms like spl...some of us are newbies to this ...also i have wmdc 6.1 and it wont connect

Just download one of the roms from the android developement thread, copy the android to the root of the sd card.
Then use jmz dual boot, should work
You have copied the JMZ cab file to your phone , but have you installe it? just use file explorer to file cab file and click on it to install. then reboot.
Ok so I got the boot loader installed, I get the dual boot screen but cant do anything with it and it ends up loading windows. I am a noob ath this, can someone help me with the issue?

I haven't understood very well what you mean... But if you want android "permanent" in your phone, without wm 6.5, you have to follow this guide:

I have Eu HD2 which has the Stock Desire Rom installed and all is working fine but I would like to install a new ROM like one of the many that use Sense 3.0 or android 2.3.5. I would also like to have my SD card partitioned so I actually have space to install apps on my phone
How do I go about doing this?
PS- Sorry for the super Noob question :-/
PPS - the ROM I had in mind was

Here.
Thats great cheers! One small problem at the moment is I can't get my phone to sync with my PC now. I can get it to connect and I can view the files on it in Explorer but it won't "sync" - any ideas?
I have Windows 7 64bit
reinstall the drivers for activesync
That instruction about syncing / getting an active sync connection doesn't mean what it appears to mean. It simply means get a USB connection.
Put phone in bootloader, connect to USB, when word. "Serial" becomes "USB", that's an activesync connection and you can flash.
Try this one:

did you can send CAB files to phone? if you can, this is Yuki (BTTF) ROM.... but maybe is better to try change to other ROM.... only one warning... if your ROM is Yuki, then your sdcard is locked... you must first unlock it with sending unlock CAB file to phone and then format it before install new ROM....
i recommended this ROM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1356833
I could send cab files through a Microsoft developer tool, and my sdcard is not locked.
I will try the rom you recommended, thatk you for the reply dxdy!
Will let you know if i come up with results.

Why is everything so complicated!!
Ok my friend, i allready have Magldr v1.13 and windows 7592.
On your tutorial you write:
- when you turn on phone press and hold power button to boot direct to MAGLDR:
* go to 5. USB Flasher and run ENG_DWI.exe to flash ROM (or TR_DWI.exe. ENG is installer in English, TR is Turkish)
- after flashing process done, and when show Main screen with Tiles, do hard reset (Settings - About - reset my phone)
- you are done... ignore next steps
Got two questions on that.
I downloaded 3_HD2_Pdaimatejam_Rom_Wp7.5_mango_7.10.8107.79_v7.3.rar but there's no ENG_DWI.exe in the file..
How does it install windows 7 8107 just by hard resetting ?
I feel like a pain in the neck, sorry for that, if things get more complicated i'll try to find another way or just stay with 7592.
I flashed sdcard, went to usb mode but DWI.exe wont regognise the usb connection..

one time file is named ENG_DWI.exe.... totally not important how is named, DWI.exe or ENG_DWI.exe.. is same file..
did in USB mode in MAGLDR recognize USB?
Dxdy!!
It worked! Running on windows 7 8107!
Thank you for your tips, be well

Dude.. I've had this phone for what.. 3 years now?
It still feels new!
Everything works.. marketplace works, speech works, everything.
Only thing there is no alphabet with the apps, but that's fine, i'm sure i'll find something somewhere.
Thanx again dxdy!
