[ROM] Windows Mobile 6.1 for HTC ELF/ELFin

VERY IMPORTANT TO NOTE:
This custom ROM is built for installation onto both the ELFs and ELFins.
DO NOT FLASH IT TO ANY OTHER DEVICES! I will not be responsible for any damage to your device.
FOR FIRST TIME CUSTOM ROM UPGRADERS:
1. Copy the Cert_SPCS.CAB and EnableRapi.CAB from the zip folder to your device's Storage Card.
2. Install the two cabs to your Device memory and do a soft reset.
3. Restart your PC or laptop (Optional)
USING THE INTEGRATED ROM UPDATE UTILITY WITH USPL CID UNLOCKER:
(ATTENTION: REMOVE YOUR 4GB, 6GB or 8GB mircoSDHC CARD WHEN FLASHING THIS ROM!)
1. Turn off your computer's Anti-Virus software if you can.
2. Activesync your device to your PC using USB port.
3. When the connection is completed (after synchronisation), double-click on [START] batch file to begin the integrated ROM Updating Utility.
4. Now follow closely the instructions that appear on the computer screen.
5. Press [ENTER] to accept at each prompt to continue the process.
6. After Step 2/3 of USPL CID Unlocker, the device screen will turns "blank white" and your activesync icon gray (in Windows XP only).
Congratulations! You have successfully CID unlocked your device. Press [ENTER] to proceed NOW!
(NB: If you failed to see the "blank white" screen, then your CID unlocking has failed.
Restart your installation process from Step No.1)
7. Your device will now proceed to update your rom. Select and hit [NEXT] at each prompt to continue.
8. When the rom updating is completed at 100%, your device will restart automatically.
9. Congratz! You have successfully upgraded to a new rom.

I did this had no problems with my htc elf/elfin/touch over the moon with it!!!
REMEMBER: all of your installed applications will be swiped of with this ROM.

'Start' batch file does nothing.
Tried opening it directly from a command prompt, but still nothing, except it opens another dos box.
Thoughts ?

The 'start' batch file fails because the first command is 'cd RUU'. but there is not a folder called RUU.
Then it tries to rename two files which also do not exist. Hence it never actually arrives at the exe file to unlock & install the ROM.
Can this work if you simply run the exe file without renaming & changing folders ?

The .bat works well for me but while updating the rom, I've got an 270 error... 'The images files is corrupted please check your update utility'
does any one had the same issue on his phone? Do you think I just need to download it again? (concidering that the zip file uncompressed normaly, I assume it works well...)

upgrading MDA Touch
please i need your Help.
I have download the" touch essential V3.5 Manilla" on my PC. But i don´t know how to send it to my MDA.
Activsyc is working.
Where kann i fine the cert_CAB?
I have also unpacked the V3.5 manilla, but there is no way to run it in the MDA how should i do this.

If I were you I wouldn't rely on a torrent posted by a junior member (age 12) and rather download the ROM posted by Football on Rapidshare => See his post HERE <=.
I've been using it from day 1 without any problem...

I understand were you are coming from but I have been very carefull on what i look for and actually this torrent file was uploaded by someone on xda developers so i am saying the update worked fine for me so why shouldnt it for you so before you start criticising a me for posting something that is just to assure htc touch owners that there is a reliable WM6.1 upgrade is there anything wrong with this......... NO!!! so before you criticise think twice !!!bell end!!!

Since this rom is giving a lot of people problems, why not just use one of the verified good roms from the Elf Upgrading subforum?

Worked fine for me when I updated my mates MDA Compact

now lets begin
dowenload this link first and install

and restart your computer
then dowenload the second link and inatall

now enter boot loader on your jam [pocket pc] and attatch it with your computer to make your computer identify it[till now you are on windos 7]
now open the [windows virtiual pc]from the start menu
it will open
you will find on the top of the windos icon [called usb]press it and choose [attatch mobile device]
now you are ready to install the cotulla rom go to it[you are already in xp mode]and begin to run it[as cotulla instructions]
now congratulatios you have done it
i will try to upload files to make it more easy

This way is okay, but if you dont have that large a download allowance (like me) then dharvey4651's way is the best: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=338473 This method work in win7 and vista as the drivers are interchangeable.

How to dual boot my HTC HD2

I downloaded the android build [BUILD]UPD(27.11.2010)MCCM SE V3.4(FroyoStone Sense)[kernel hastarin r8.5] I just wanted to know how to get this thing to dualboot up? Any help would be appreciated?

search for JMZ dual boot. install it to the phone in windows, its a cab file. reset the HD2 and it should boot to an option screen saying Android on top and windows on bottom.

Just download one of the roms from the android developement thread, copy the android to the root of the sd card.
Then use jmz dual boot,should work

You have copied the JMZ cab file to your phone , but have you installe it? just use file explorer to file cab file and click on it to install. then reboot.

Ok so I got the boot loader installed, I get the dual boot screen but cant do anything with it and it ends up loading windows. I am a noob ath this, can someone help me with the issue?

i have notice this one contain a lots of usefull tools.
RUU_Schubert_hTC_Asia_SEA_WWE_1.57.728.02_Radio_5.52.09.16_22.33a.50.10_Signed_SCHUBERT_TEST
This rom contain kitl tools allowing connection to remote tools framework
a part of Windows Embedded Compact 7 developper tool.(with registry editor and more)
sirep server allowing connection to.
also a tool to test all device sensor.
and a tool to see touchscreen raw data and more...
Maybe use this rom can help dev to find more.
you can also flash this rom with goldcard if your device is not unbranded.
i don't have HD7 Device so i can't help you with this.

Is the USB-Switch mode also included, because i'm stuck in Diagnostic Mode and it would be great...
Can i flash it with my European unbranded device?
Is there a Version-Controll?
because i have currently the 1.60 ROM installed...

i must wait till next week to build a Y-Cable

Hi,
You can not do it with GoldCard. First of all, you must have xxx.nbh file to use a GoldCard. ROM from first post does't have.

At last... I've successful flash my devices using this ROM and Goldcard.
But to switch it back from DIAG to ZUNE, as you've said.. the USBtool.exe
has to be execute manually. I just wait maybe someone could found it how.
It's was really hard to find the single micro memorycard reader in my place.
I already try to use the multi/all in 1 mmc reader.. it wont work to
flash using goldcard technique because it seems like the phone keep searching
which one it should read from. so i manage to create my goldcard using flash
thumbdrive 4GB. and it works perfect with me. So now.. I have no worried to
flash any rom. except it was not develope for WP7. lol~

the problem is that we cannot flash that rom until we have HSPL or SSPL...
no chance to resolve the problem yet :-/

DF Router
can anyone build rom for HD7 with preinstaled "DF Router" app?
I changed usb mode to modem and I uninstalled this app, now i can connect to zune and install it again
am now in "modem mode" and i need back to "Zune mode"

The good news first: We now have RSPL/HSPL (thanks to Cotulla and DFT)
The bad news: Nobody made a ROM which contains the USBSwitch-App :/
I hope that will change

rom extracting problem

can anyone help me.Windows XP SP3 I can not extract rom.zip from the official firmware. Because if I run RUU.exe it after a while (10 seconds) all disappears Local>temp. In Windows Vista everything works.
Have you try to swap Hboot from 2.1 and 2.2?

Think you can change the. Exe to. Zip and do it that way

Rom extraction works for me even on XP MODE virtual machine. The path to be checked is "C:\Documents and Settings\USER NAME\Local Settings\Temp".
That might be due to other issues of ur pc . And AFAIK changing extension of exe to zip will not work (maybe bcoz exes are compiled archives).
And swapping hboot makes signature lost, so no success (or downgrade not possible).

have you try to open HBoot from 2.1 or 2.2 by Hex editor and see what the difference between them ?
P.S.
(That came when you try to install Mac OSX on normal PC)

No i haven't tried. Even if we find the differences, we can't edit the things and replace the content without loosing the signature. I think someone has tried it unsuccessfully.

I not gonna tell you where this idea came from ( long story), but we try.
Phone Wildfire Hboot 1.xxx S-OFF by xtc clip
What we have when we flash the rom.zip- HBOOT 0.80
1. Then try to put recovery clockwork-3.0.xxx
2. We load the phone, but not the network
3. then phone start to freze, and we have to roll back to buck up.
Problem maybe because hboot was from 2.1 Rus, but we need En-Tmob.
