now even with volume up and power on phone cant give any signal no boot mode

Did you do anything to your device before this behaviour,
With the information that you have provided, I can assume that you have a battery problem since your phone doesn´t boot up or gets into bootloader.
Otherwise, if you have flashed incorrectly (eg. flashing a rom from other phone to your device by mistake) or messed with the phone...that´s definitely symptoms of a bricked phone.

All started with trying to upgrade(rewrite) the GSM part because the Hermes had problems with phone part - when trying to call - the phone stop responding, bus the pda part sill worked.
So - I tried and tried and tried again, reading many threads about HARD SPL,Flashing radio, etc. Nothing worked..
In the end "i managed" to kill GSM - phone had "No Gsm" on boot-up.
From there i tried to downgrade SPL to 1.04 so that i try to "raw" rewrite the GSM part.
But something went terribly wrong, and while downgrading SPL, the phone suddently shutdown and never opened again.
Now i have the folowing situation: NO BOOTLOADER, no usb conectivity, nothing
This means that i cannot connect via USB whatever i try.
Is there any hope for me? or is it TOTALLY BRICKED?
Any help is apreciated!! I can even dismantle the mobile if there is any way to flash it via some kind of jtag connection...anything ...
The folks at www.imei-check.com can do the JTAG flashing. Just email them. It would be costly for you to do it yourself...
Are you saying that the phone won't turn on at all or that it does but you can't get a bootloader screen?
Have you tried taking the battery out for a while? Have you tried flashing an OEM rom and radio compatible with your device off an SD card?
All of this info is in the wiki, as are OEM roms you can flash.

Try this:
1.) Remove battery
2.) Connect Hermes to charger or USB
3.) Insert the battery while Hermes is connected to charger
4.) Red light should turn Amber
5.) Soft Reset
@wacky.banana: The phone is totaly dead: no bootloader, doesn't boot at all, doesn't seem to have any USB conectivity at all. Flashing from micro sd doesn't work : probably because the bootloader isn't working.

@markafreeman: I tried, but when i put the battery in, the red light goes off, not to amber . no soft or hard reset helps. not even leaving the battery out for 2 weeks - i had tried that too . thanks anyway.
Anything else I can try? - phone totaly dead, no bootloder, no usb conectivity - cannot use mtty, cannot flash from microsd
I had to get a replacement device at that point when it happened to me.
Maybe someone else know a way to get it working.

so you managed to hard reset it
and it crashed an ****ed up
they'll replace it
well they will send it to HTC
who just replace the handset rather than repair it

I ve bought recenty an spv m3100, im effortless trying to flash the rom to an wm6 version.
Like you ive started with the hardsppl flash thing to prevent bricking it and prior to sd flashing... and im not sure if its workin...

Sorry about it but, its not "easy" to brick by flashing a new radio, unless wrong radio flashed or interrupted during flashing.
Some experts may be able to help if you put your question little more in detail...which radio etc.

I had this problem as well what I did was contiously restart my phone take battery out put it back in. Done this like 20+ times then the phone managed to boot up.

Just checking but this sounds like you flashed a GSM radio onto a CDMA hero, is this what you have done? if so you are FOOOOOOBARRRRRRED son. and to be honest you really should have read about the radio flash.

+ why do you think it got stuck? how long did you leave it?
List type of Hero you have, radio you were trying to flash aswell. Also will it boot into fastboot? (hold down vol down key and turn on)

So a friend have a problem with a ROM, and i decides to flash rom radio and with an other ROM and when i'm flashing HD2 freezing and lock at 53%, i trying to flash with any others Roms and i have a big problem, hd2 no reboot,, and no reboot in bootloader mode too after :S
i trying the Hard Reset manual and nothing !!

if you can't get into bootloader then it is probably dead.
So volume down while pressing the reset key doesn't do anything?
If you plug it into a charger does the red led come on?
What version hd2 is it?

i can't make it in bootloader even if i press volum down button and press the end key, he does nothing :s but he return in bootloader mode one time / 50 ...
when he connect to a source i don't see the red led for charging batterie :s
and i don't know what is this model, it's an HD2
And the last time i boot it, it's written Software uptade fail, try again with a /!\
If its a US T-Mobile one (has T-Mobile at the top and green & red buttons at the bottom) then its most likely that the radio he has flashed to it is the wrong one.
If this is the case, then there is no fix.
Otherwise, its best to see if you can send it back for repair
Hi, i am sure someone will have an answer(even if it is to say...there is nothing that can be done) to the problem with my phone.
I am not a technical person...use the phone with still its original settings...rom etc..
today the internet stopped working (maybe connection issue). so I tried to switch off and switch on again. the phone is not starting again...i have tried soft reset, removing the battery, sim card, memory card etc.. no luck
when i press the power on button..i hear the buzz...then the screen lights up with the HTC logo and some numbers at the bottom..which are

And then nothing happens...
i have not yet tried the hard reset option..as would not like to loose the details on the phone...if possible. But if it is the only option, i am willing to try.

Hi,
If read your post correctly you have not made any attempt to alter your phone's ROM and it is still as supplied.
Looking at the radio and ROM installed this is probably outside warranty, which is why you are asking rather than returning to your vendor.
This being the case it does not sound like your phone is booting and a hard reset will make any difference.
Will the phone start in the bootloader mode (achieved by turning the power off completely and holding the vol down button while powering up).
This is a tri-colour screen and is restarted by removing the battery.
It sounds like the ROM is corrupt or damaged.
You could try loading the stock rom from your provider or loading one of the very good cooked rom's from this site if it just corrupt.
This process is a bit long winded and will need extra direction if you have not spent any time on this site.

u r right, i have not changed the rom
and it is out of warranty
it starts in the bootloader mode..i.e i can see the 4colours(includind white) and the bottom says "serial" and then when connected to computer says "usb"
nothing further happens
when i open windows mobile device center, the phone is not connected
what next do i do?

Good morning.
im a newbie at updating the HTC HD 2 Leo i have for T-Mobile (which is probably WHY i shouldnt have messed with it in the 1st place...).
i tried downloading the android gingerbread rom onto my phone last night and while downloading the software their was a partition error and my phone was stuck afterwards rebooting on the failed software dowload (would get stuck on a black screen only showing the HTC letters in green.)
i FURTHER screwed it up by trying to put it in bootloader mode and trying to install the Original software i found which i downloaded off a website for the factory version of my HTC HD 2 Leo.
NOW it only shows a black screen.. the computer cant sync my phone, the battery light is not showing and no signs of life...it wont even let me go into bootboader mode...all it says when i plug it in to my USB port on the computer is under hardware found " Qualcomm CDMA Technologies MSM"...
someone PLEASE help this lost noob... much appreciated
wow! erm.... have you tried a hard reset? recovery software might still be on there, with any hope.....
i tried , but the hd2 doesnt show ANYTHING on the screen, i tried holding both buttons and pushing the power on button but the factory screen wont pop up because the screen stays permenantly black
Sounds as though you flashed a T-MObile USA with a ROM with a .51 RADIO; if that is the case then the phone is bricked.
You could always telephone HTC and say you charged your phone overnight and it didn't respond the next day - with no mention of flashing the phone.
As you have found out flashing before reading can be fatal (for the phone) and expensive. I have flashed quite a few HTC WinMo phones, but for every different phone I read then reread the instructions.
