So a friend have a problem with a ROM, and i decides to flash rom radio and with an other ROM and when i'm flashing HD2 freezing and lock at 53%, i trying to flash with any others Roms and i have a big problem, hd2 no reboot,, and no reboot in bootloader mode too after :S
i trying the Hard Reset manual and nothing !!

if you can't get into bootloader then it is probably dead.
So volume down while pressing the reset key doesn't do anything?
If you plug it into a charger does the red led come on?
What version hd2 is it?

i can't make it in bootloader even if i press volum down button and press the end key, he does nothing :s but he return in bootloader mode one time / 50 ...
when he connect to a source i don't see the red led for charging batterie :s
and i don't know what is this model, it's an HD2
And the last time i boot it, it's written Software uptade fail, try again with a /!\
If its a US T-Mobile one (has T-Mobile at the top and green & red buttons at the bottom) then its most likely that the radio he has flashed to it is the wrong one.
If this is the case, then there is no fix.
Otherwise, its best to see if you can send it back for repair

Basically, when i press the power button doesn't start. It happened after follow the "Install / Update SPL" ( http://code.google.com/p/android-roms/wiki/SPL ) guide.
Is there any way to recover it? or should i put it on the bin?
You're going to have to be more specific than "it doesn't start".
Does it turn on? If so, does it hang at the htc magic screen? Can you hold vol-down and press power (while still holding vol-down) and load a screen with three androids on skateboards? If you can do the last step, it's not bricked, and you should look at the thread I have below about bricking and semi bricking, one of the users on there gave a great amount of information on what you can do if your phone's not working right (bricked).

It was after follow the guide i mentioned before. I tried to update the SPL, but something went wrong and my phone didn't turn on again.
So... I think I have to accept the fact is not going to work again.

You probably tried taking out the battery for 10 seconds and then putting it back?

I'd really like to say it DOES something... but it doesn't . I tried Volume down + power, back + power and several more combination always taking out the battery and putting it back.
It's bad... Do u know if there's any hardware service for this?
Just a wild guess, but since the phone sucks more battery, then a vampyre on rampage.
Could it be an idea, to charge the battery before, or have the usb cable pluged in, when you press back+home? (the same buttons you used to enter fastboot)
I'm pretty sure what you're trying to say is, you know enough about the phone to know how to bring it into it's multiple boot options, and none of them make the phone even burp. So there's no need to tell you to press this button plus that button, or insert usb or remove usb, or battery or such, because you've already done all that.
Well, I'd have to agree with you that it's dead. Unfortunately, there's nothing to do at the moment. I'm guessing (or maybe just hoping) that in the future there will be an unbricker for our phone, much like those available for many htc branded winmo phones. In the meantime, how old is your phone? Can you still bring it back?

1. What was your original SPL
2. To which SPL did you "try" to upgrade? (I hope you didn't try to flash a G1 SPL on your Magic...).

That's how my brick arrived ! Tried Hard SPL, after installing the one you suggested. Yours okay, Hard SPL no. But even after installing the spl, no fastboot adb.
BRICKED by HARD SPL ( the recommended )

I think you are right, I have flashed the G1 SPL. But the page is really not clear, it start speaking as Dream/Magic and probably it is only for Dream. Since it says to apply the Hard Spl and in the download link(http://code.google.com/p/android-roms/wiki/SPL) there is no clue that it is not for the G2.
Any idea? anybody got it changed from the shop with no problems? (mine is vodafone in the netherlands)

as far as i can see no need to flash spl on vodafone magic. i have the same phone and all i did was root with Rav1.1.1G.img and flashed rom of my choice. you have flashed phone with g1 spl and it actually says g1 on the link you provided..........can't see how you missed it. with phone off press home+power button as that bring up recovery image. Rav image file is safer due to that. i am sure if hardspl was available for Magic it would be posted on here as a sticky

You did brick one with the hardSPL and now you bricked another with the same stuff? Didn't you learn the first time? Only way is to go back to the store and tell em you did it again.

It seems to me you need to go back to basics and start here
A noob question but what exactly does flashing a new SPL unlock.
I got my Vodafone UK HTC magic and simply Downloaded a 32B ROM and used nandroid backup to apply the update.zip and it installed fine and can use Root required apps.

My HTC magic was bricked after update SPL. Now when press power button, it stuck at HTC magic logo, anyone have solution for fix its?
I Can not understand how can this be possible. Why guys all of you, don't read before trying to change your SPL???? You even don't need any changes about it?! Why do you try to change the SPL? Do you know what that SPL does? I think most of you - don't.
My next question is why all of you are trying to flash the G1 SPL onto Magic phone? Are you crazy or what? There is NO HARDSPL for Magic (G2, Sapphire or whatever you want to call this device)!
The SPL collection is posted in this forum by Amon_Ra, and if someone want to change the SPL can do this by downloading some of the SPL collections posted here.

Power off your phone! Then press and HOLD the "back button", while holding it press once the red one(which you usually use to power on the phone). It will power on (i hope). If you get in fastboot mode then everything will be fine.
My htc gene is bricked.I have tried all the methods. I am unable to recover using Orefkov's method. When I try to press power key or soft reset button , onlr red and green light blinks. Nothing else happens. no charging indecator when i connect it to wall charger. I am even not getting the tri color screen.
please help me. to at least get into bootloader.
I have tried to connect using MTTY also but it is not detected using usb. help less now with no bootloader.

remove battery and then hold power button for 20 seconds (this will remove stored power from device )
then insert battery
press and hold camera button then press power to bootloader

I have a HTC P3400i GENE100. I successfully installed orefkov SPL and then upgraded my original ROM WM 6.0 to cooked wm 6.5. After installation my device was too slow than before hence I flashed it with RUU_Gene_hTC_Asia_India_1.17.720.1_4.1.13.34_02.79 .90_Ship.exe. After flashing it 100 % my New Gene restarted, but didnt boot to booting screen. Its not going into bootloader mode also. It shows blank screen i.e. black. I tried several combinations of keys (Camera + Power button or Camera + Reset or by pressing both "-" button + Reset) for going it to bootloader mode. But none of them working. When I plug in charger the green & red light blinks once and nothing else. Same if I press reset with stylus, the green & red light blinks once and nothing else happens. I know that I have bricked my New Gene, when I flashed the ROM, which was meant for Old Gene, which I came to know after reading the posts in this forum. I have to use JTAG Method for recovering my Gene. Hence I have read many posts about it in this forum. But can any one of the great masters here, help me with a proper guide that can help me recover my Gene 100%.

I got this tattoo from a friend, and am facing very weird problem with it.
The tattoo will only boot in SPL mode. It seems the to think that the volume down button is always pressed.
I figured this out because of the way it behaves it will always boot in SPL Mode only.
But sometimes the device will boot into normal mode as if nothing was wrong.
Any ideas?
seems like short circuit. Exam the volume button contacts.
I removed the volume button flex from the board, but no change.
Anyone have a Tattoo they can lend me in Mumbai, India? I just wanna compare the mobo's to find out where the short is.

Pressing Home, shows me the Tattoo logo and vibrates the phone, which then finally comes back to the same screen.
But sometimes on pressing Home, it will boot normally and function well.
Any help will be appreciated.

if u have a Nand backup why not just try restoring the original rom may be this will solve ur problem i do a lot of flashing and wen i get to any issue with any cooked rom i just nand restore the origanl Stok rom and the problem is sloved

if u can get ur tricolor screen then try this
connect the usb cable to pc and see if u get the USB words on the phone tricolor screen if so good try flashing any official ROM the same happened to my phone long back did the above got my phone back asuming u have done HSPL for ur phone if u have not done that then the only way is to take it to service

Wrong forum.. Touch P3450 is not a touch 3g , its the original touch (ELF version)
but i will try and help as i have owned both.
if your hardware buttons are not working it could be possible that your send and end keys are stuck down as this key combo brings up the hard reset you are talking about.
think you are going to have to open it as it sounds like a hardware fault, and if you cannot get into bootloader you cannot flash
if it was working alright before this is not the case, but either way you will have to fix your camera button and get into bootloader

I try to flash my hd2 rom in SPL 1.42 and now i have nothing !
Black screen, I try to enter in boot loader but I can't.
When i press start button I just have a small vibration and that's all.
I try :
- remove the battery , press start button, put the battery nothing
- press vol down and start button to enter in bootloader, nothing
- press reset button, nothing

I am very sorry but you just bricked your phone.

There is nothing you can do now but send it back and try to get another one.

If you have an insurance cover, this is the time to start claiming. If not, you've got a "note to self".
