My htc gene is bricked.I have tried all the methods. I am unable to recover using Orefkov's method. When I try to press power key or soft reset button , onlr red and green light blinks. Nothing else happens. no charging indecator when i connect it to wall charger. I am even not getting the tri color screen.
please help me. to at least get into bootloader.
I have tried to connect using MTTY also but it is not detected using usb. help less now with no bootloader.

don't panic
to enter boot loader just on device
press and hold camera button and press soft reset button .

remove battery and then hold power button for 20 seconds (this will remove stored power from device )
then insert battery
press and hold camera button then press power to bootloader
hope this will work

i was try all methods,#remove batery 20 sec and then start with camer button & both camera and voice button. but result is same...
#No indication during Charging.,no usb detected in PC.

I have a HTC P3400i GENE100. I successfully installed orefkov SPL and then upgraded my original ROM WM 6.0 to cooked wm 6.5. After installation my device was too slow than before hence I flashed it with RUU_Gene_hTC_Asia_India_1.17.720.1_4.1.13.34_02.79 .90_Ship.exe. After flashing it 100 % my New Gene restarted, but didnt boot to booting screen. Its not going into bootloader mode also. It shows blank screen i.e. black. I tried several combinations of keys (Camera + Power button or Camera + Reset or by pressing both "-" button + Reset) for going it to bootloader mode. But none of them working. When I plug in charger the green & red light blinks once and nothing else. Same if I press reset with stylus, the green & red light blinks once and nothing else happens. I know that I have bricked my New Gene, when I flashed the ROM, which was meant for Old Gene, which I came to know after reading the posts in this forum. I have to use JTAG Method for recovering my Gene. Hence I have read many posts about it in this forum. But can any one of the great masters here, help me with a proper guide that can help me recover my Gene 100%.

I got my HTC P-3400i New Gene back to life. It works better too. Sumeet is the man, who has given life to my entirely dead gene. I thank to him and suggest needy to contact him in their cases.

Guys, just read the instructions. Retry the procedure. The step-by-step guide is writen in such a great and extraordinary manner, that there is no room for error.
with big mistake i was flashing my ELF with a wrong rom( svp s650)..
it unbootable I tried everytings hard reset soft reset nothing changes: = (just the green light that stays on ..

I tried a few searches but all the results say you need the bootloader screen , are you sure you didn't miss a step in hard reset or bootloader mode :
To enter the bootloader:
Hold down the camera button and reset device with the stylus. Keep holding the camera button until you see 'tricolor' bootloader screen.
An alternative way to enter bootloader:
Switch the device off by long pressing O/I (power) button. hold down the camera button while pressing the O/I button about 1 second. Keep holding the camera button until you see 'tricolor' bootloader screen.
Alternative(universal?) bootloader(3)
As almost all htc smartphones with onboard camera, when you push and hold the camera(photo) button, and plug in usb adapter. Even a "stupid" usb power adapter will work.
To hard reset:
Hold down send/reject buttons (green/red at the front) and reset with the stylus; release the stylus but keep holding the buttons till you get 'this will erase all your personal data' message, then press 'action' (big front button) to hard reset.

I'm not sure if it's possible with the HTC Touch, but I know when I was playing around with an old iMate SP3i (smartphone) I was able to do a ROM upgrade from files on the memory card.. Took me a few attempts to get it right, but it worked. I think I also upgrade my SP5 to WM6 from WM5 that way, but I'm not too sure about that.
Either way, a basic idea of what I'm talking about can be found here, but that is obviously for a different phone.. Maybe some of the more common members here would have better luck finding a similar process on a Touch....?

On some HTC devices (cheetah, for example) if you put the ROM file (.bin) in the root directory of the SD card, the phone will flash directly from the SD card.
I think you do require to put the phone into bootloader for that to work though ... not 100% sure, but probably worth looking up.
Ok... Been trying to search for more information for you, but with not really knowing all the correct terminology it's taken me a while longer than I thought. I've found two threads that have some of the information I was looking for:
Recover / Revive your dead / bricked HTC ELF or ELFIN
Recover HTC Touch from tricolors RUU boot-loader (Mtty)
The second link is actually found inside the 2nd post (I think) of the first thread I mentioned here, looks like they are linked in some way. Your best bet is to read through and see if it is something that may help. Let us know if this works for you...?

Press both softkeys and soft reset, you will get tricolor screen.
BTW should have read the thread BEFORE flashing

first tell me that you r have a old gene or new gene????
After that how do you patch your spl i.e. which method you used......

contains any rom,gsm files....if yes then you have to remove it & after that you patch it..
So a friend have a problem with a ROM, and i decides to flash rom radio and with an other ROM and when i'm flashing HD2 freezing and lock at 53%, i trying to flash with any others Roms and i have a big problem, hd2 no reboot,, and no reboot in bootloader mode too after :S
i trying the Hard Reset manual and nothing !!

if you can't get into bootloader then it is probably dead.
So volume down while pressing the reset key doesn't do anything?
If you plug it into a charger does the red led come on?
What version hd2 is it?

i can't make it in bootloader even if i press volum down button and press the end key, he does nothing :s but he return in bootloader mode one time / 50 ...
when he connect to a source i don't see the red led for charging batterie :s
and i don't know what is this model, it's an HD2
And the last time i boot it, it's written Software uptade fail, try again with a /!\
If its a US T-Mobile one (has T-Mobile at the top and green & red buttons at the bottom) then its most likely that the radio he has flashed to it is the wrong one.
If this is the case, then there is no fix.
Otherwise, its best to see if you can send it back for repair
