[Q] HTC Touch HD problem !

Hello guys.. well i have a Blackstone HTC Touch HD..
I've got a big problem !
The htc wont start ! Nothing happens when i push the on/off button..
When i put in the charger.. the orange light turns on for some seconds.. then it turns off.. and then the phone turns on.. it shows "Smart Mobility" and vibrates..
Then it restarts.. and shows it again.. and again..
It keeps doing that..
What is the problem ? Can i solve this ?

Is this a new device? Have you recently flashed any new roms/software onto device?
If I where you I'd try a hard reset. To hard reset device:
1. Turn off device
2. Hold down vol up & vol down
3. Continue to hold down vol up & vol down and press power on button at top of HD
4. You will be presented qith a white screen & blue text
5. Follow instruction and restore factory settings (Hard reset) by pressing vol up.
If this doesn't work and device is still playing up and its a new device without any new rom/software on it I'd return it and get a replacement. The alternative would be to flash a new rom on it, but if its faulty device from start I wouldn't recommend this and I'd return it.

Ah, so you just found the device and decided to keep it...LOL
Well seeing as you can get it into bootloader, you are able to flash new roms onto device. All you need to do is follow guide in my signature.
The only other options would be to return it under insurances/warranty. But seeing as both are unavailable to you as phone isn't yours.............. If I was you I'd return device anyway and maybe the rightful owner may show some gratitude and give you an award!!
Choice is yours!!!
EDIT
You may also find that the orginal owner has put a phone lock on device rendering phone useless anyway unless you know security code. I have similar lock on mine. If this is the case, be kind enough to return it to rightful owner!!

Gene Dead

My htc gene is bricked.I have tried all the methods. I am unable to recover using Orefkov's method. When I try to press power key or soft reset button , onlr red and green light blinks. Nothing else happens. no charging indecator when i connect it to wall charger. I am even not getting the tri color screen.
please help me. to at least get into bootloader.
I have tried to connect using MTTY also but it is not detected using usb. help less now with no bootloader.

don't panic
to enter boot loader just on device
press and hold camera button and press soft reset button .

No luck. I have tried to go to bootloader using press and hold camera button and press soft reset button

remove battery and then hold power button for 20 seconds (this will remove stored power from device )
then insert battery
press and hold camera button then press power to bootloader

When i try to update my rom, i don`t know what happan but now, my phone not start when i try to start only blue and red light flash. nothing.

i was updating this rom "RUU_Gene_hTC_Asia_India_1.17.720.1_4.1.13.34_02.79.90_Ship" after 100% complete it turns off , but not start only Green and red light flash during press reset button...
i was try all methods,#remove batery 20 sec and then start with camer button & both camera and voice button. but result is same...
#No indication during Charging.,no usb detected in PC.
please help how i can recover my device.....

HTC P3400i GENE100 Dead
I have a HTC P3400i GENE100. I successfully installed orefkov SPL and then upgraded my original ROM WM 6.0 to cooked wm 6.5. After installation my device was too slow than before hence I flashed it with RUU_Gene_hTC_Asia_India_1.17.720.1_4.1.13.34_02.79 .90_Ship.exe. After flashing it 100 % my New Gene restarted, but didnt boot to booting screen. Its not going into bootloader mode also. It shows blank screen i.e. black. I tried several combinations of keys (Camera + Power button or Camera + Reset or by pressing both "-" button + Reset) for going it to bootloader mode. But none of them working. When I plug in charger the green & red light blinks once and nothing else. Same if I press reset with stylus, the green & red light blinks once and nothing else happens. I know that I have bricked my New Gene, when I flashed the ROM, which was meant for Old Gene, which I came to know after reading the posts in this forum. I have to use JTAG Method for recovering my Gene. Hence I have read many posts about it in this forum. But can any one of the great masters here, help me with a proper guide that can help me recover my Gene 100%.

I got my HTC P-3400i New Gene back to life. It works better too. Sumeet is the man, who has given life to my entirely dead gene. I thank to him and suggest needy to contact him in their cases.

Which was that ROM you tried updating?, at the end of updating did it display that it was installed properly into your device?. Have you properly tried going through the Tri-colour screen?

i have the same problem.
i dis the ELF_USPL after finished i turned off my pfhone and now when i try to turn it on my the light of my screen turns on and the it goes off active sync can`t connect anymore to my phone can somebody help me please?

Rom : HardSpl_WM6
Yes bootloader ( colour screen ) appeared from the beginning and the update was successful, but now the device does not work at all.

i have new leo with ROM 1.43 today after trying to upgrade to ROM 1.66 I did everything as asked, the installer began , with all the colours on the leo display then it started the percent completion counter , and after 2% it wrote me error something , and the leo restarted but stuck in the white start up menu with the green HTC icon and below the R G D information but the device doesnt proceed further and stuck here !!!

o bought the device in europe , but i am from israel , htc sent me notification about new arabic ROM with link , i tried with my serial to download but couldnt , it wrote me "this upload not compatible with ur device" , i downloaded it from here XDA developers , but it went wrong !! , the problem that the phone stuck in the loader menu , before uploading the sense interface , and i have no connection between the pc and the phone "no active sync" so how can i reinstall the older version or make the phone load again ?!!?!! plz help !

I would recommend to do a hard reset in the first place and see if that helps.
I don't know how you did the upgrade and what the exact error message was, but you have always the option of installing HSPL and a custom ROM, as long as you can connect through USB - that is entering bootloader (the tri-color screen) and seeing "USB" at the bottom of the screen.

how can i hard rest , the phone is not moving from the white menu ,which comes before the orange menu with the windows mobile icon , the buttons in this menu are not responding , is there any way to do hard rest using some phone hard keys , because i cant establish any connection with the pc , so i guess i need to do something with the phone itself ...?

Hi
Take the battery out for about 10 sec. Then Put the battery back. Press and hold Vol down and Vol up then press the power button grey screen will ask the confirmation to format internal memory. Then press vol up. Then vol up for reboot

after you have fully charged your phone, try flashing it again...Happy New Year.

try to Hard Reset your device , here the way to do that...
Perform a hard reset with the iPAQ. To perform a hard reset,
1. Press and hold the Answer/Send, Power, and End Call buttons.
2. While holding these buttons, use the stylus to lightly press the Reset button on the bottom (located at lower left base of the iPAQ), of the HP iPAQ until the device restarts.
3. When the HP iPAQ restarts, release all of the buttons, and then remove the stylus from the Reset button. The HP iPAQ restarts and powers on.
CAUTION: A Hard reset clears memory, deletes all data (such as owner information under Setup Wizard and AutoConfigurator) and restores the rw6818/rw6828 to its default factory settings. The action will erase all data that you have created and programs you have installed, but will keep all the preinstalled programs that were in the phone when your phone was first delivered to you. Be sure you have backed up all your data in a mini SD card or on your PC before performing a hard reset
