So who else is dieing for ninjablur 2.2 to hit the Droid x so the n1 can get a taste of it. That ui completely intrigues me for some reason. Its not in your face like motoblur" nor is it as intrusive. Everyone who's spent time with the Droid x praises the ui. What do u guys think?

Nothing wrong with a little variety dude. Lol
once again....NOOOOOOOO....
I think it will go very well with the Nexus one's look... but who is going to do the dirty work?
I think they are actually calling it Motoblur 2.0 instead of Ninjablur
ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
All i want is a plain ole cup of vanilla froyo with some cyan sprinkles and im good.
Stock FroYo look FTW.
Only 1 must have UI improvement - LauncherPro (it's fast as hell. Once you try it, u won't ever go back to stock launcher). Oh and it's much better than ADW Launcher, imo. Better config, faster.
what do you think of the x

i really like mine.its ok that the x cant be rooted and the only people that i hear say its to big is girls.but i allways thought they liked big things?
Romflash,rr, whoever ur back! Good to see u. I switched from the dinc to the x. Like the x much better, love the feel, the ui overall is smoother when on the homeacreen on the dinc. But the x runs games like need for speed better than my ps3 lol. Now i will actually consider playing games on my android. DInc is gone and i wont look back. Goodluck if u decide to change.

Good, but with notable faults:
+ Great screen
+ Great keyboards
+ iphone-style text selection
~ Ok speed
~ Ok battery
- Poor speaker (too quiet)
- No zoom on mobile web pages (esp Goole)
I'm pretty sure the X has zoom on the browser. However the moblie Google doesn't zoom on any device. Test it on another page.

i probably wont change since i cant return the phone, and i dont want to get slammed with that early termination crap.
anyhow, the x looks promising, but is not for me. its too big, amd the ui is a bit clunky, but i am still concidering the x regardless.

I upgraded from an htc Fuse from at&t and i'm loving it. The switch from winmo to android has been exciting. The phone itself is amazing. I'm loving the speed. I thought the switch to a full touch keyboard would be hard, but i'm not missing the physical keyboard at all.
A lot of people have been complaining about motoblur, but it doesn't seem bad. That's probably just coming from my inexperience with android though.

I came from incredible, while as i stated before the ui is slower and clunkier than incredible the spped of opening apps and eeverything else is way better. My quadrant benchmarks are faster than my DInc with froyo installed and a custom overclocked kernel. The sense ui is the most polished custom ui out there to say the least. This phone has FAR better graphics and multimedia abilities. Given a little time and the addition of froyo this will b one of the best phones u can buy for some time. The TI OMAP is a superior proccssor in almost every way. Also this phone has guerrilla glass. For those who don't know that is some tough ****. I think the only lagging that happens is the homescreen scrolling. After 3 days with the x its a keeper to me. Also the battery life is twice that of my incredible.

EVO zoomed in on "mobile" pages. I assume other HTC phones do too.
I realize it zooms on non-mobile pages, but of course mobile pages are the ones your going to get on a (mobile) phone. :-/
BTW, even on non-mobile pages, the zooming in uneven, as the follow-on double-tap to re-flow text will often not work (depends on other formating on the page). Again EVO (HTC) was better at this. Not saying there aren't DX advantages too, but this is a major drawback to the DX browser.

I'll second the quick open experience. Very nice. Also (may be related), non of the 3-5 second hanging on app installs I've seen on other Android phones.
I just switched from a HTC Incredible, rooted, w/skyraider 3.0 loaded, to the Droid X. I have to say, I loved the HTC phones, had a droid before it that I didn't like to much, BUT, this X is amazing. The screen, for not being an LED, is amazing. It looks way better than the INC. Looks like some of the things on the screen actually jump out at you, like 3D or something... It seems to react faster to everything also. Anyone else been this happy with switching??? Oh and It is rooted and loaded with froyo 2.2, so has flash and all the free rooted apps, like wifi tether!
welcome to the dx side... yeah its amazing but dont get me wrong the dinc is pretty cool too with senses, just image if senses ul was on the dx instead of blur, holy! that would be one bad machine there, truely the king of android/droid devices of its time.
can you check the loaded version of the flash player you have for me? i need the full version numbers. thanks
also there's an updated version of your flashplayer, its found in the themes and apps section of this forum by me, but here it is >>> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=763584 <<<
The flash player on mine says version 10.1.72.10... I did really like the Dinc, BUT I don't see the major difference in sense and blur. What are the main differences???
yeah i guess i needed that update... thanks!
thanks for the info.
sense ui is so much cleaner and well put together. i cant really explaining the differences, but there is a huge difference in the two ui's and im sure someone else can explain it...

Well let me explain each:
HTC SENSE: Basically you have a dock which ONLY has soft-buttons for Phone, the app drawer, and I forget what the plus sign does.... Possibly to add home screen widgets I think....
Motorola BLUR: Motos dock contains a phone soft-button, as well as contacts and app drawer... The only other thing that blur does is chance the dock when swiping to represent what home screen you are on....
EVERYTHING ELSE IS JUST WIDGETS SUCKING UP RESOURCES.
And my last statement is exactly why folks want Vanilla Froyo.. nothing BUT the Android OS. No moto Widgets, No sense..... Just Froyo.. and I will use Launcher Pro always of course!
Hope this helped some of you guys...
i was a dinc to x convert. gave the wife the dinc. loved the dinc. i'm a modder by nature and the dinc has tons of custom roms and other hacks you can do to it which made for consistant enjoyment. i can't wait until some more developments are made with the x so we can do the same kind of stuff to it.
that said, the screen on the x (giant goodness) is really the biggest difference i see. the speed on both is about the same.
the one thing i noticed is that i seem to get better 3g with the x than the dinc (same location) and the dinc gets better wifi than the x. must have something to do with antenna difference i guess.
Is it possible for the new htc sense ui to be ported to the droid x, similar to what has been done with the droid incredible with the desire hd rom port.
I am sure it is possible but demand might be pretty low...

Would it though? I just started playing and setting up my wife's DInc and I was pretty impressed with how HTC integrated everything and how easy it was to access data.
Kinda makes me wish HTC had a 4 inch screen sized phone before the DX came out
I think jago x is right htc sense does a way better job of making android better
That's not to say it is perfect (it does have some bloat) but at least the bloat isn't as bad as the D2 and DX. Motoblur on the DX has a TON of stuff running in the background.
Very true, but i would like all the innovations like the 2 second boot that comes with the desire hd rom port
I would probably use and donate towards well done sense port. I really hope this thread doesn't turn into a "well you should have gotten an incredible" thread, like one over at droidforums did.
The skinning for a lot of the often used features in android is, I think, better than most other UI shells and a lot of the htc apps are really nice with good widgets as well.
It would mainly be really nice though just for the ability to change it up every once in a while, and I'm getting a bit tired of launcherpro.
I have to choose either epic or evo tomorrow, and would like the epic cause of the screen quality and the video quality.. but the evo has sense and i simply cant live without it..my question is would there anytime soon be a sense port to the epic? cause i would love to have the best of both worlds.. i dont want no alternative widgets ect..i want sense on that amazin amoled screen...
If I can remember there was a team of people trying to port it, but haven't heard from then in awhile

It's being worked on right now. by 2 devs, 2 good devs, who will most likely have it done a few days after the official froyo release.
Sense? Are you serious? Just go get an EVO cause if your buying an Epic to put Sense on it you could be waiting forever. And also the Epic is to nice a phone to ruin it with Sense.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
get the EVO, we don't need another "krazie" in here posting in the wrong section.
OP reported as belonging in the general section.
If you want Sense, just get an Evo. No port will function 100% like official Sense from HTC. Personally, I hate all these customized launchers from manufacturers (Sense, Touchwiz, etc.) as they're slow and laggy, and I just use LauncherPro (ADW is great as well).

LOL..yea ok. I know its being worked on, but its far from being even close
Fck sense I had it on mts3gs and its nothing special, how about porting Xperia X10 Rachel or Acer Breeze ui they look way better and offer way more functionality,i even like our Epic's Twiz better than sence.
Yeahh i was just trying to get the thread over with. i hate stupid questoins
I thought I would miss sense when coming from the touch pro 2 to the epic. Boy was I wrong.. sense is so slow in comparison to the eic running launcher pro or adw.. sense has sme cool features but nothing that you can't download or add with launcher pro.. but if you really want 100% sense go with the evo.. I'm sure either way you won't be dissapointed
Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk
I personaly like sense and hate touchwiz however owning both an evo (wife) and epic (myself) I can tell you performance/battery/screen...etc wise the epic is a better phone. I miss sense as well but nothing you can't be without. Get the epic!
thanks to everybody who gave me positive feedback. to all the rude people making smart comments, i would like to cuss you guys out but im going to be an adult about the situation. with that being said, Im going to get the evo..simply because I believe the camera will be modded by developers..i have seen the youtube videos and all and have been blown away by the epics quality as far as audio and video camera..but i simply cant live without sense..the calender and peep widget and email widget have me in love

What you like isn't really relevant to the OP.
Check out this thread and the video. Had the guy fooled into thinking it's SenseUI but it's actually just a theme and widgets. Take a quick look at it, you might just find it suites your taste.
+1 for adw
Sense is aright, but really....on the epic...
I hate TW myself. So went with adw and never looked back! My roomie has adw on his evo and would never go back to sense.

+1 to the Launcherpro comment. The widgets are just as nice, if not better because of the better speed.
I don't believe there is a email widget though... the Samsung email application is simple enough and handles emails like a dream though, the exchange calendars sync right up to, AND the launcherpro widget can pull in everything even from the Samsung calendar app. It's fairly nice.
It's really all about personal preference, I'd pick based on the pros and cons of each that aren't software related, because even if the official sense never makes it to the epic there are alternatives that will do the same thing, look just as good, and be faster and easier on the battery. At the heart of Android lies Linux.. and like anything Linux you can customize to your hearts content.
The Epic trounces the Evo in terms of performance, the evo has a bigger screen but the epics is higher quality, battery life is better on the epic, the evo gets faster updates but the epic in theory might get them longer with the superior hardware, the epic has a pretty good hardware keyboard the evo has an awesome touch screen keyboard (which can be installed on the epic), epic 3D performance is outstanding while the Evo's is so-so but not bad, the evo's build quality seems better and the epic feels less solid due to its keyboard slider (you will have that tiny tiny amount of play in the screen even closed like most slider phones have). List goes on and on. You can't go wrong with either really.
Just watched that video of "pseudo sense" hilarious.....
you can get anything you want, to look like anything you want for android. You just gotta be persistent. If you like the Hardware of the Epic, go with the epic. You might get tired of Sense.
I have the Epic and the Evo.. Rocked the Evo for a week and a half and went back to the Epic. Just better quality screen and got bored of Sense.
I been using Go Launcher on the epic and I like it better than Launcher Pro may wanna try it out its free and uses less memory.
