I spoke to HTC today about why we can't use wii controllers . They claimed I was the first person to ask about this. Lol. If we all send them an email it will help escalate them responding to fixing their Bluetooth stack. So please reply to this post after you send HTC an email ..that way we can start flooding HTC with emails to help fix this..than you all for your help
Ok I already see 35 views and no posts or replies that tells me that in Just in an hour or so almost 40 peeps looked at this post ...let's send HTC some emails and get them to fix this
I made a post like this on androidforums and I included a link. In htc's response to me, they blamed google and told me to write to them to fix in in android.
In the links below you'll see absurd responses from htc. The lowest link will take you direct to htc email support contacts.

I hadn't tried the wii controller app with my Incredible. It worked on my Eris though.
so on your eris ( do you have sense rom) you have a wii controller working? could you post a video of that. i have yet to see anyone get a sense rom to be able to connect...
luv it... ty again for info.... i think the only way to get this done is emailing so keeep it up everyone
My email written to htc support, today:
"Hello,
I wrote to you months ago to request support for a full bluetooth stack on the HTC Incredible. The response I received from HTC Support was more than disappointing. HTC Support instructed to write to Google Android development and request that bluetooth be included in the Android core code.
I have friends who have also written to you requesting full support of bluetooth to be included on the HTC Incredible. HTC Support gave different answers to each user -- all the answers were incorrect.
Other ROMs on HTC Incredible do support full bluetooth features, but we choose to keep the stock Sense ROM from HTC. The luster of Sense stock ROM is dulled when users write to HTC Support and receive responses that blame other conditions except HTC developers.
I'm writing this lengthy email to HTC Support to fully inform you, We are not interested in any excuses on why full bluetooth support is not included on the HTC Incredible. We are very savvy on the other roms that exist for the incredible that do support full bluetooth features.
So please, simply add the full bluetooth stack, and bluetooth software modules, which allow bluetooth keyboards and bluetooth mice to connect to the Incredible.
Thanks.. You have my phone number and email address."
I also fixed the lower link in my first email.
thank you luvit
awesome... now if a few hundred of us do the same maybe we will at least get htc to acknowledge this problem.
I got the answer of we acknowledge this issue but there is no scheduled fix in the works.

Lets just keep writing to them
Just wrote 'em. I would love to be able to play Super Mario World on my Dinc without having to go to cm, I can't seem to get away from Virtuous but I want my Mario!!!
Hmm, actually got a very nice, understanding response!
"I understand how important it is for you to be able to use your device to its fullest extent and I apologize for any inconvenience and frustration this has caused you.
I will forward your request to the proper department for review. Hopefully we can see the next update having the Bluetooth stack you are referring to. I am also an Incredible user and I would love to see this happen as well. Thank you for taking the time to contact us about your inquiry."
Maybe they aren't so bad! I really hope they include this on Gingerbread, i would be a happy man
That looks promising.. Perhaps the person answering emails earlier this year got fired. Maybe the one that answered your email is a hot female.
I do believe her to be a hot female. Victor answered me... He was not a hot female.

I just sent an e-mail to HTC as I am also awaiting an update to the Sense framework's Bluetooth stack.
Balls; I was stonewalled. Here is an excerpt from the response e-mail from HTC -
"Thank you for your email regarding your HTC Droid Incredible. We certainly understand your concern and wanting to make the most out of your device use. HTC does not support this connection and cannot alter the Bluetooth programming of a device for an unsupported function. We will document your concern for review in development of our upcoming devices. At this time, we have no further information to provide on your concern."
So.. .inconsistent
update
okay no news from htc .... but check this out.... a new app to let you use your bt headset(mono phone earpiece) to listen to music .. or, well, anything you play. It is a nice app but too pricey. >99 is ok not $3 any way im thinking if he did this someone should be able to just make an app for this,

After 10 years of nokias the n97 finally pushed me over the edge and i am expecting my new hd2 in the post today.Just a question about updating it.After installing the new 1.66 rom do i have to install any other htc official updates or are they all included in the new rom?
Is there a way to check for new updates on the device or do you have to check the htc site all the time?
Also whats this i read about updating the radio. What does this do?
Haha just like my story, my last Nokia was the N97 .. look what they did, they made us nokia users divert to another phone company.
Welcome aboard
Im not sure about the last question, but regarding the first, a fellow good user told me that you most likely not need the official updates, but you can check in the HTC support for the versions they support. Most of them are 1.59 or below, so in that case you dont need them
I think you need to check their support page, or the RSS feed there. Dont know if there is another way.
Hope I helped a bit.
1. First of all congrats to your decision to leave Nokia and move over to HTC - you'll never regret this, I guess...
2. Please use search-function in the future. You have only to install hotfixes that are needed for your ROM-version - so if e.g. on the HTC-page is written sth. like "needed for version <1.6" then you haven't to reinstall these hotfixes again with ROM 1.66 (installation wouldn't work anyway).
3. To check if there are new updates availabel, you have to visit HTC-website (support section) - you can put an RSS-feed onto your phone to check it also - this is my solution. Better it is to visit this thite here XDA-Developers often, and you'll get also informed and beneath this lot of feedback according the updates.
4. RADIO is the firmware for the receiver unit aso. - it is responsible for reception (GSM, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS etc.), very important for battery consumption and also responsible for a couple of other things like sound (not sure about these other things to be honest).
Hope this helps for the beginning.

+1 here
after tons of nokias, and painful waiting 7 months o release date of n97, i said googbye to nokia.
i gues they would need to make space shuttle in a phone to get me back
For me it's the same, too. After Nokia N70 and E90 Communicator, I also went to HTC. But I had two Pocket PCs more than ten years ago (Casio Cassiopeia), so finally meeting Windows Mobile again.
Same here.. My last phone was n97.. Didnt regret after changing to this phone and i just love my HD2 more and more as time goes by..
I was a devoted Nokia man for years, until one day I saw the Touch Diamond and was overcome with lust. I had my Diamond for a while, then a HD, and now the HD2. I can't imagine ever going back to Nokia now, but I'll always be fond of them.

My story almost the same. I had some Nokias, the last one was N95 and I then I bought a HTC Touch Diamond which... I generally hated . But it had a great GPS receiver and was very small so I was using it quite a while (for a year I guess) and now I'm using HD2 and I'm very happy with it although at first I was a little bit sceptic as I wasn't happy with my Diamond. Anyway in general HD2 is a great phone and I didn;t have some irritating problems with it so I would recommend it to anybody.
Same here, After years of Nokia and Symbian.. The N97 made me Mad ..
So here im HtC HD2
And i Love the Phone..
You've all been slow, look below at how long ago I did that move
hello guys i've beeen a hard core nokia user and after 12 yrs of nokia marriage i divorced it when there was no sign of a new communicator.....
same story here. From the N97 to HD2. Best choice ever. Nokia user for about 10years, but its very doubtful that i will ever go back to Nokia again after the N97 experience. The new flagship after the N95 failed bigtime.
Add another one to the list. I was using the Nokia 5530, and I just sold it on Saturday (literally) to help finance my HD2 purchase. I'll soon join the ranks, and as my wife just said to before I saw this post, "I don't want to ever buy another Nokia phone."
I agree. Symbian drove me crazy. None of these models have enough system memory to function well enough. The N97 is a disaster.
I'm glad I found this forum, because otherwise I would not have known how customizable the HD2 really is, and the fact that it runs Windows Mobile would have caused me to shy away from it.
just settings up the new phone . I have got a major problem hope someone can help

Hi, i asked this question a while ago and the only real answer was down to the phone using samsungs bluetooth stack rather than googles stack. i see they have got around the problem on some of the HTC phones....
for example would a Cyanogen rom potentially fix the issue?
is this a problem we can solve with a custom rom? or is it still more of a serious issue with the drivers still? for some reason i see some people are saying now we have clockwork recovery it may boost chances of a Cyanogem rom? why would this be?
I was just about to post a similar thread myself!
I think the problem lies in Samsung's non-support of the HID bluetooth profile, surely a dev can add this support for us? Its been done on other phones to enable wiimote support...
The addition of this would make this phone nearly perfect for me, then I could play GameBoid/PXS4Droid on TV Out with my bluetooth classic controller, which would be GAS!
This is something I'd really like to see fixed as well - I sent a support request to Samsung on Friday, I've yet to get a reply but that's not surprising considering the weekend.
glad im not the only one who wants this!
wish i knew enough about it to offer serious suggestions
I think either an official FroYo update or the unofficial Cyanogenmod will let us do this. I don't know how much of a challenge it is/would be to take the bluetooth drivers/stack out of a current Cyanogenmod ROM, and whether they would even work with the Galaxy S.
I wish to have a full bt support too keyboard, controllers, mouse etc i can't believe ios4 has keyb support and android no

Hello everyone. I'm here about the share something wich i do hope you all do something similer as i did. I'm very unhappy with HTC, and i really do hope to get HTC more respectfull for all its customers, and participants on turning this phone into a great smartphone.
Here have been the messages wich i've exchanged with HTC corporation and their replys on why doesnt HTC get an update on European firmware, and only on Rogers HTC.
ME: Hello. I just want to say i'm very disapointed with HTC. Rogers made up an update for HTC magic 2.1 android, and HTC isnt giving us one. Just wish to point out with me is a client wich you'll loose. I'm very sad with HTC, when you guys already replied to me that HTC magic wont have 2.1 android.
Best regards,
Jorge Pereira
HTC: Dear Mr. Pereira,
Thank you for contacting us,
We apologize for the inconvenience, however there is no information regarding the release of the 2.1 upgrade for the Rogers Magic on the HTC website.
Please note that any information that any information that do not come from the HTC website can only be regarded as rumors and speculation.
Please note that you can contact us via support line. For further details, please go to http://www.htc.com/europe/CA_Hotline.aspx, you'll find a toll free number that you can dial only from a landline.

ME: I'll be simple on the reply. Is from your official site:
HTC MAGIC (ROGERS) ÉCLAIR ROM UPDATE 3.54.631.3 | 09.08.2010
at: http://www.htc.com/ca/support/magic-rogers/downloads/
Already download it and tried to update. But was not possible giving id errror. So dont sent sand to my eyes, as i do not believe in you.
Everyone wich has a rooted phone, already flashed it. I want an official update as many HTC magic owners want.
Since there has been a very large lack of knowing where to find the official update, so that you might not say again its a rumour. http://www.htc.com/ca/support/h/magic-update The oficial update site from HTC. Very disapointed with HTC. Lying to its costumers. Never thought this would be a position HTC would have.
HTCear Mr. Pereira, Thank you for contacting us, We apologize for the earlier confusion, however, currently there is no plan to upgrade your phone to Android 2.1. The result of our analysis showed that an upgrade to your phone may impact the user experience and we ultimately decided that an upgrade was not recommended. Your phone will still receive support, and we thank you for your patience and understanding. Please note that you can contact us via support line . For further details, please go to http://www.htc.com/europe/CA_Hotline.aspx, you'll find a toll free number that you can dial only from a landline. Best Regards, HTC Team http://www.htc.com
ME: Why is it not recomended since rogers have exacly same HTC magic with same board same specs? And if i tell you that i already seen a rooted phone with 2.1 android oficial with Rogers version of android 2.1 workign much better than my 1.5 android? If i tell you that i can get in that android the maximum speed of my internet conection, and iwht my phone i'm limited to a 1,5 Mbps? If i tell you that i decided to root my phone and tested and i get same great results as the other phone? The conclusion would be again, HTC is sending sand to its customers, and you'll be loosing one right here since you are not beeing honest. Experience with Android Rogers ROM is the REAL best experience i could ever have. I never had my internet lag again, i went to 6 Mbps speed at download (thats 4 times what i had before) . How is it even possible to not be recomended? HTC this info is beeing shared by everyone with HTC magics. I'm sure you are all receiving same emails as i am. I'm just speaking in a forum about this. XDA Forum, please do check at HTC Magic section it because i'm really sad you are working in a such unhonored manner. Thank you again for the replys. Best regards, Jorge Pereira

I hope by this i can get a petition where everyone complains and HTC really releases an european edition. Would be great to get a European Radio edition and other things. Anyways Thank you everyone wich tries with me
you should really try to get something proofread or just use you native language when filing formal complaints.
on the other hand, yes it does suck that you havent gotten an update, but they never said it would be updated. you should look into a custom rom.
but the thing is. ROgers has an official update great for android. Wich has HTC hand. What more proof do we need?

He's referring to grammar, spelling and punctuation. Companies are less likely to take you seriously when you have sentences such as:
"Just wish to point out with me is a client wich you'll loose."
What?
"Everyone wich has a rooted phone..."
I'm thinking maybe the word that would be more appropriate.
"Is from your official site:"
How about "This is from your official site"
Look, when you are writing something important you want it to sound important otherwise they are less likely to understand it as such. This is unless your about ten years and writing to Fisher-Price.
My first post seemed kinds pushy, sorry about that.
So right now I'm looking for a few different peeps. Mostly just people who know or are in the process of learning Android, beta-testers, And somebody to update everything on the web (Twitter, The Website in a lot of areas, and maybe even youtube). If it sounds like something you'd like to do, then PM me and you're on the team or send an e-mail to [email protected] We'll probably update the current FroYo ROM then head straight to Gingerbread. Maybe in the future, a Gingerbread Sense ROM? Anyways, development will kickstart on the 20th, with or without a team.

Update - 1/8/11
ROM Development has been totally stopped for almost one and a half months now. This was not an intention of mine whatsoever. The reason behind everything is that my HTC Dream broke to a point where I could no longer develop on it, and being a new developer, I did not want to take any risks by releasing untested ROMs. Due to a lack of beta testers, all development was halted. The only reason I released v1.0.4 was because xillius200 kindly tested it for me and reported it stable (for the most part). So yesterday I talked with a guy I know who has a T-Mobile MyTouch 3G. The screen on his phone is entirely broken (LCD & Digitizer). He told me that he's going to be buying an iPhone off of Craigslist.com and that he'd give me the MyTouch 3G for free. So he gave me the phone and in the meantime he will be using my extra carrier unlocked Sony Ericcson w580i (lol) until he gets it. So I already ordered the parts (which cost me $60) and they'll arrive around January 17th-21st (most likely sooner) and I'll fix it and root it. So I plan on kickstarting development on the 20th. We'll (or I'll) probably update FigMint then head straight to Gingerbread. Maybe in the future, a Gingerbread Sense ROM? But I can't accomplish all of this alone, although I have the motivation. So anyone who wants to help, feel free to E-mail me at [email protected] For more info on becoming staff, check out the staff page. Also, in case you hav'nt noticed, this is now a .com domain, I'll be working on getting a few other cool things for the team, but a .com website is a good start. Anyways, until next time, cheers.

Are you planning on making a rom like the MUIU roms? (Not exactly like that rom, but something like a complete change with the UI etc) or just a rom that is similar to CM and awsm is just added to it? (if so, might as well work with them)
I'm not trying to sound like an ass, I'm just giving you my opinion. It's hard to sense it when you read from the internet!
I really don't think this is worth it to be honest especially when you want everyone to have a G1 which is becoming really outdated. Most people with good programming knowledge have probably already moved on to newer devices. There really isn't a point in developing for a device like this anymore, (especially when you yourself don't even have the device) just my two cents. If you're doing it just to have fun, might as well work on something newer.
Well, I'm planning on buying a new G1 or MyTouch 3G this month so I have something until I get my EVO or whatevers out. The only thing broken on my G1 is the microSD reader and the screen has a crack. There is still a lot of development going on for the G1 and MyTouch allthough they are old phones. The bright side of them is that if your phone breaks you can buy a new one for really cheap. And having a G1 as a requirement (or 32b mytouch) isn't that bad, that's why it's posted in the G1 section because allmost everyone here has one. As for UI sure I'd like to change some things but that isn't until later, for now it's speed and functionallity. I see where you're coming from though.

I'm not trying to be mean here, but, this group will never really aspire with a dev rom for a device such as the G1. You are limited to so many things now and the community has pretty much seen it all by now. Many Community roms have been tried, and never really went anywhere. I just suggest you think this over before potentially wasting your time. I'm not trying to bring you down here, but I doubt this project will last very long. You can do it by all means for experience.
It might not make it anywhere, but then again, everyone has to start from somewhere. It may or may not be a very long project seeing how I'll be getting an EVO and a Google TV soon, and I have a super packed schedule and a life. But it's fun as a little side-hobby. It's not total dedication to making ROMs for the G1/Saphirre because if I spent 24/7 doing that then it would be a waste of time. I guess what I'm trying to say is that sure there's a hell of a lot of ROMs out there and sure they have Dev's who spend countless hours making changes to their ROM's, I'm not saying any names (Cyanogen ). But who cares. Why do you think people have ROM Flashing Disorder and what not, because "this ROM has this feature and one ROM has that feature" and "I like the way this one looks but it's really laggy". Why not just make a really chill dev team that has half of it consisting of people who are practically end-users, and finding out what people really want. Then relaxing and editing a ROM while drinking some coffee or eating some tacos, or even both 0_o. It's not a full-on community project unless you want it to be btw. And on the other side, it's a great learning expierience and can help aid people in the future XD.

so, as the title says, i'm making a rom development team. Reason being is that: 1) i've always wanted to :d. 2) my g1 broke (i dropped it) and until i get a new phone i need some people to be my lab rats and test my (soon to be an "our") rom . 3) it's fun and it's a great learning experience.
I am located in california, us. Pst utc -8. I can only speak english. I consider myself a novice developer and i work with linux, mac, & windows. I know very little of c++ & java.
I need:
website updater: you optionally get to try the latest rom before anyone else. This is the easiest job of them all, all you have to do is update the blog, twitter, google code, and a few docs on google code. This altogether only takes 5-15 minutes to do.
novice beta testers: get to try the latest rom earlier than everyone else and give a basic what works and what doesn't. And maybe give suggestions of things that you or the end-user would like to see in new releases.
advanced beta testers: get to try the latest rom earlier than everyone else and give full detail reports on any bugs, errors, fc's, logs, etc. And possibly even list things causing other things to go wrong and possible fixes.
novice developers: get to try the latest rom earlier than everyone else and give app enhancements, ui enhancements, and fairly basic rom edits.
advanced developers: get to try the latest rom earlier than everyone else and write, edit, and troubleshoot code within the rom. You need to know at least some basic programming lanuguage, preferably java. You don't have to be cyanogen, but you need to know what you're doing if you know what i mean.

i got informed that htc is not currently working on a hid solution for any of the sense phones(or any phone for that matter) but if they decide to work on it the phone of choice would be the sensation
so no hid support for any sense roms for the moment
if this is something that we want, we have to let htc know about this
