no battery drain means perpetuum mobile and that is surely not possible with hd...no matter what
Let me refrase it for him .. he meant :
"What's the best WinMo ROM for HTC HD considering that I want to use XAndroid ? I'm looking for a good battery management , minimum resource usage and a working camera"
I have the same questions, except I know camera will not work.
Plus, is there a difference between Winmo 6.1 and 6.5 , Android port related?

Is it possible to do a downgrade back to the 6.1?
The 6.5 isn't all that good in my opinion. It uses more battery, it's not stable enough and I have the feeling that it has more bugs in it.
For example: I turn the phone into vibrate mode, 10 minutes later it's back in normal mode without doing anything.
Could it be possible to download the original 6.1 rom?
It all could be my imagination of cource
I confirm: the 6.5 is terrible!

Very true...
Looking for a way also to get my S521 back to original WWE 6.1...
Just got to the ROM Dev forums, HardSPL your phones, and flash a recooked 6.1 ROM. No 6.1 ROMS are available from HTC.
Better yet, use my cooked 6.5 ROM. Battery life is amazing. I get almost 3 days with moderate use.

Hi, I have SPL version 1.24: can I use anyway auto_1.17.bat or auto_1.19.bat?
Our Snap's love 6.5
I'm guessing theres some radio version issue involved here but FWIW...
We have a number of Snap's in our business and the sales guys love them but they love them even more since I upgraded them to WM6.5.
They are mainly impressed by how much longer the battery lasts for... but the speed improvements plus some other stuff that I do.
We're only using the official HTC 6.5 upgrade as well.
It beats out of me why my upgrade originated more power consumption... I still use the same basic tasks and my battery lasts less a day than when in 6.1...

Have you tried reflashing?
Gonna sound strange, but after i reflashed, my battery life is normal again, the same duration time that i had back in 6.1... strange because the settings are the same, programs, etc... no explanation but glad it worked... thanks for the tip myxcon
I like the default 6.1 better personally. I used 6.5 on my Dash and it gave me the feeling of having the same phone. The default is faster to me anyway, and the youtube app that came with the default is the deal breaker for me.
So,
any grapevine? Any info flying around about when the next edition of DFT / some other awesome developer is out on WP7 - HD2?
Well for a start you can try going to their site if u can read Chinese, or you can use the two alternative custom roms found
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=938083
oh yea, about those roms... do they fix battery issues? They both look the same
My battery has been running great and i think the battery indicator has been fixed.
Im running the 1.00.00 version since it was the first listed, didnt really look into the moonlight
Well, looks like this is will be the best for now! *sigh*
Anyone with inside info (in english ) on dft's next plans (with hd2 )

I installed ml, just my luck but im guessing since they both have reg fixes, it must be common to both, will respond with the battery life review.
Anyone with Moonlight roms battery reports?
i am using Moon light now battery seems better than wm6.5
I´m using the moonlight ROM too, great stuff...
Guess it won´t take too much time to port the "official" update itself over to HD2, as the most difficult part seems to be done. But, the jailbreak thing might be another barrier... Chevron won´t work anymore as they say.
For me, the unusable camera is the worst part of the current build... I am perfectly fine with the rest, it´s much better than a stock WinMo ever was. As a matter of fact, it´s even good for everyday use.
I realy think that a new build from dft will come shortly after the official update...
For now I'm shortly back to Android until thoses three bug aren't corrected :
camera focus , loud sound (I think that done in moonlight) , and touchscreen
....

Anyone know a good sense rom with decent battery life that will last over 12 hours while at work, or isn't there one out atm ? and also as a2sd onit
If you absolutely want sense, which I wouldn't recommend, 'cause it's buggy on HD2, you should try out Sense of Eclipse. People who can't live without Sense, say it's the best.
sense is not buggy on the hd2, sense3 is buggy but the older sense versions are stable for every day use

What sense rom would you recommend? the rom i have is pretty good and stable battery life lasts about 18 hours but the lcd density is to small, when i change it through emulator it kills battery as its using a lot of cpu
try [21 APR][RAM HD] imilka's Glacier Sense v4.0 [MT4G][A2SD][K:raf1.9OC]
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=919148
one of the best sense roms out there
very stable, good battery life, fast and smooth
look at post #895 for some fixes

If you want a SD build Try MccMBoxmaX GS V7.0

2 calls of 5 minute's
5 time's Read SMS / Mail

I am using the same ROM you have and would recommend changing the LCD density using a file explorer and change the build.prop file from 167 to either 217 (native density for HD2) or 240 which I prefer. I have really good battery life on this ROM. The only Sense ROM that I have used that has better battery life is Cmylxgo's Desire HD(2) ROM. Best battery life at a consistent 2-3mA on stand by. But I am on a TMOUS phone. Cmylxgo does have a ROM version for EU phones but I have never tried it to compare it to the US version.

cheers mate it worked, tbh i only thought there was one way to change the density and that killed me battery in average of 8/9 hours which is below poor, thanks again bud
i don't wanna open another thread... i'll be more specific with the OP question...
I'm also looking for an Android build bo matter if it is old or new... the main request is to make this phone look as a native android phone... I mean I've head different builds... SD or NAND... but in the end I always got back to Win Mo... so is there a very stable build which has all the functions and battery ok?...
I have been using MccM's Sense 2.1+3.0 for a couple days now and it works extremely well. The smoothest sense build that I have tried!
Here is a good one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=15020608#
I did not tested, but it will work really great. It is the newest JW MIUI and it has sense too.
MCCM HD V4.5 (SD version)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=954030
After trying out so many builds I think this is the best build with almost no bugs and very decent battery life (18 hours approx). Give it a try.

Sorry i had forgot to mention i was after a nand version, but my problem as been solved now thanks anyways
The original OP asked the question I wanted, but I can't see a direct reply. Rather than start a new thread therefore can I ask the original question again? I installed the original Desire HD Nand OS but found it kept freezing (especially using Copilot) so went back to WinMo. So 6 months on, is there a stable Sense NAND ROM I can look at? And yes, good or bad I would still like Sense.
I can only understand simple replies (!) as I haven't been following discussions or developments for ages so will have to re-learn how to do all the upgrade thing. Handset still has MAGLDR 1.13 and HSPL.
Cheers all!

Glad to be of help. Now you don't have to use that emulator that is sucking your battery dry. Not sure why Pongster likes that 167 density. It is definitely too small for me to read comfortably. I guess my eyes aren't as good as Pongster's.

Do take a look at the build i am using, here is the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=926507
I would recommend using V1.6, this build is really awesome, it has but a single flaw and that is copying files via usb-cable (which will make the phone reboot and endanger your sd card file structure).
There are workarounds (either using USB Mass Storage in CWM or using an app like Software Data Cable) so this isn´t really that hard to cope with
Other than that i would have to say, this feels like it was meant to run with the HD2, so if that´s what you are looking for
Battery life is great, no loss at all compared to winmo.
Whatevery build you would choose, i personally would go for froyo builds, gingerbread builds (sense builds at least) are a little too much for a stable reliable daily build, for now at least

There isn't one out there. The phrase "decent battery life" is totally out of place in a LEO forum and even more out of place in an Android forum. If you want decent battery life, get a BlackBerry.

i dont mean a battery that lasts like 4 days straight i ment *DECENT* the rom i use lasts around 18 hours which is fine for me as i only use it for work and charge over night alls i wanted was a sense rom that lasted 10hrs+, but as i said in the earlier thread my problem as been resolved
Hi everyone,
I bought a relative new EU HD2 for my school project, because we want to develop an android application. WP7 looks like an interesting OS, I want to give it a chance and so I want to use a SD-Android (for a while!?). There are many threads about NANDroid like Recommend a NAND Rom? or Best daily use NAND ROM ?, but I haven't find one about SD-Android.
I saw 3 types of Roms, CyanogenMod- , MIUI-, and Sense-Roms. HTC Sense looks very beautiful, but I've heard about graphic glitches and "low" batterylife. What's the difference between CM and Miui?
Must have:
stable Wifi
stable 3G
~2 days of battery life (moderate use)
german language
good performance
good speech quality
Nice to have:
HTC Sense
Bluetooth
720p record
good camera quality
GPS
Which rom are you using? Do you use HTC Sense? And if not why? I know that I'm not the 1st one who ask for recommendations, but there are a lot of different roms and I'm totally overwhelmed by the variety ^^.
Thanks in advance!

Hello,i am in hurry for sorry if i ask noob question. I buy HTC HD2 Europan version. Windows Mobile is default OS i have some experience with installing android on it. So here is my question:
- Is HTC HD2 really the beast ?
- How to extend battery life This is major problem
- Wich Android should i install that best works on HD2 ?
Thnks
1-That depends on the way you define beast. if you're talking about speed, then the answer is not. there are a lot of newer smartphones with more decent hardware that can operate a LOT faster and smoother. If you're talking about OS's it runs, then yeah. it's DA BEAST.
2-each OS has it's specific battery usage and life. This is from my own experience:
Windows mobile consumes the least of battery (or maybe it's artemis rom )
android sd builds consume more battery than nativeSD which consumes more battery than nand (thus replacing windows mobile)
windows phone has normal battery usage (lasts a day for me) but there are tricks to calibrate battery and get more out of it. i haven't tested though.
different android kernels may consume more battery, and with more apps running in the background the more battery is used.
3-which android........
everyone that come to xda asking about which rom is better gets flamed so i'll give you a few ones before you get flamed:

There's a lot of questions asked and solved in the HTC HD2 Forum, Kindly take your time to exploit and learn, you are welcome
