What is the best android built for htc hd2??
This question was asked over 100 times and the answer is that the " Best Build " Does not exist, and never will .
You have to give an intensive look at the Developing section, and keep trying build after build until you find the build that best suites "YOU"
But you can say what is the most popular rom. And this is definite a Desire HD Rom (and usually the rom by MDJ).

Yes i know that.. but i mean which builts are in top?
The "best built" is the one that you favour above all others. When you've tried 3 or 4 (maybe 5 or 6), you'll find something that suits you. We can't tell you what you like.
Ok, If you want recommendations :
First of all I wouldn't recommend any Sense build other than Desire Z/HD builds. If you want to mimic the iPhone pick a MIUI build, which I mostly prefer and it consumes battery slowly, And MDJ's builds are best known with their stability and smoothness. But all the other devs' effort is appreciated.
Now go there and pick your choice !
For me "best" is: cedesmiths "desire_hd2", fast and stable and with all the gimicks desire hd has, also it has an easy update system.
I also tested the RAM builds, well the navigation there is blazing fast, but the graphics are still choppy like there is some graphics driver missing. For me the sense builds are comparable to a luxus car, you have all the extra features etc.. the ram builds are like a sportscar without any interior, no gimmicks, just pure and raw :/
hi all i have a hd2 with a custom win6.5 installed on it but its over 6months old now and its giving me issues, is nand android safe to use on my hd2 yet is it stable? in terms of battery life and general 24/7 usage
please let me know if its stable and whats the best rom to date to use

In terms of stable WinMo is way ahead.
You can use it everyday if are ready to compromise - GPS is nowhere near WinMo.
Ocasional bugs with keyboard, camera, camcorder, laging.
To be honest - it's not "perfect" but i wouldn't go back to WinMo
Regarding best choice - no such thing. Flash as many as you can and see what suits your taste.
I can recommend Desire/DesireHD/Z builds. Their "stuff" is closer to HD2 specs and most of it works great.
Gingerbread has too many issues for me.
Cyanogen Froyo builds are great, i think those builds are really stable, but the design is not my favorite.
I think a lot of Android roms are close to stable.
I use it for everyday use without any problems.
The battery might be a little bit better in WinMo, but it lasts me a day without a problem.
There is not gonna be a WinMo on my HD2 again... for sure..
You can always go back to WinMo if you dont like it....Trust me Android is way better.

before you jump into full NAND, why not take a test drive. I recommend these SD builds. I used the first one for everyday use before switched to the NAND of the second (v2.6) version. Just copy the files on the SDcard and go. See how you like Android. If you like Android the NAND version are even better. (Faster and more Stable)

Hi guys, I`ve just bought HTC HD2, and I`m tired of WinMobile, because my last 2 cell phones had WM. I was watching for SD android rom, but there are so many of them, I can`t pick. Maybe you can help me and give your advice. I need stable, fast android ROM, that has WORKING 3G / Data, Audio, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 720p PLAYBACK,Phone, Camera, Camcorder, GPS, USB Disk FUNCTIONS.
It would be perfect that it has Android market.

I am looking for the same thing, I've tried a few of the roms here on first page.
The one I liked most was the one from darkstone "darkstone SuperRAM FroYo v1.5" but it aint been updated since 18th december and is outdated and has security flaw, yet it worked perfect.
I could do all the things you said, and it was super fast, no lag, nothing bad.
All the newer ones dated march all have the SENSE thing, it sure makes it look nice and like your still in WinMo but theyr also MUCH slower and MUCH less responsive. Also many have trouble running games I could just install from market that ran with no trouble on the darkstone thing.
Of these I tried: "AmeriCanAndroid AOSP", "RAFDROID HD 4.1" and "BOYPPC")
So I will wait for responses here too ^^
(Regarding the slow sense thing, maybe its possible to disable it somewhere, beyond my knowledge how to though)

the second one is a chinese port of a great ROM with an iPhone feel to it, it's quite fast and awesome.
No, there is no harm in flashing an Android ROM to NAND, it actually flashes over MAGLDR which is a bootloader than flashes over HSPL, this basically means no matter what you flash Android-wise can be undone very easily with no risk.

See my comparison chart: http://bit.ly/hUCNww for SD builds. Suggest Darkstone SuperRAM (v1.5 or Sense v0.1). I have not found one build that beats these - please speak up if any of you found a better one - SD or NAND.
I find coredroid (nand for all leo versions), to be very stable and fast with a good battery life, Over the past 2 weeks no lock ups everything works, the odd tweak is required but its well worth looking into
I've test driven about 50 ROMs on my HD2, from Mango to Android on NAND and SD, almost even flashed Mint but was turned off by no sound and will wait until dev is a little further along before trying that out. I'm on the newest DesireHD from CoreDroid and I'm liking it so far. My favorite ROM of all has been HardDroid2, but it had one fatal kiss of death that made me switch, which was no user dictionary/predictive text on the keyboard and no ability to install and deploy a different one from Market (FC anytime you try anything keyboard-setting related). I gave up on Mango altogether, at least until there's more apps and hotspot becomes a little easier. Dual boot with Android on NAND and Mango on SD would probably be ideal in my world, although that probably sounds bizarre given the HD2 is essentially a Windows phone to start.
Curious about the experience of others...preferred methods (SD or NAND), preferred chefs, best overall ROMs, best ROM for specific purposes? Have at...I know there's a ton of great knowledge and experience lurking around XDA, but even the purely end-users among us should have some constructive thoughts on to these questions...so have at!

NAND is best for me and the latest energy rom will take some beating
if you want to use WP also, you need to use SD version but if you a android fan, just install nand version thats easy - or ?
i prefer Hyperdroid 3.0.1 its clean, fast and got low battery usage
(Gingerbread 2.3.5 - no sense (using ADW Launcher))

NAND is the way to go. DarkStone's SuperRam works great off SD since it loads in RAM and is very fast, but loading in ram seemed to create a few minor functionality problems with gaining root access.

Hyperdroid has decent battery life, amazing speed, great functionality, etc. I mean, I've only used like 4 different NAND roms so like everyone says, test some and find your personal favorite, but you got my recommendations above.

I've kept the NAND ROM in my sig since it was released, didn't update to newer version because the newer versions are too 'branded' for me in the settings menu and a few other places. I couldn't ask for a better NAND ROM than the one I have now, hundreds of apps, 5 homescreens, a bunch of widgets, and it still runs smooth as butter.
I usually switch between a few different SD builds, whatever's the hot new thing.

The newest version of Hyperdroid, the fastest and the most stable I've tested. Great battery usage. NAND of course. Magldr ver.
I have tried SD roms in the beginning, finally have settled for nand.

In my opinion the best is HyperDroid, because it's a from source build, meaning it's 100% optimized for the HD2, making it the fastest and most stable rom for the device, but i hate the interface with passion.
My favorite Rom? i'm yet to find one that appeals to me as a full, i'm still looking for "THAT" perfect rom that is balanced concerning battery drain and performance with good aesthetics and UI. If only HTC released the source code for Sense UI so we can have Sense over any ROM, a CyanogenMod (Hyperdroid to be exact) + Sense UI Build would be my Dream and favorite ROM, as i don't like using LPSense, it just feels bland in comparison.

I stay with Sense 2.0 and 2.1 roms, i don't know, despite of how awesomely fast other roms are, sense roms feel more like..phones if you know what i mean, they feel more solid to me.
I have too used many different sd roms, and I have finally settled into using nand
but my favorite for sd was americanandroid
and my favorite for nand is hyperdroid gbx
By far the best ROM I have used NAND or SD is [OCT16] AmeriCanAndroid AOSP HD2 GB2.3.7 CM7 | bk2sdext [KERNEL:ACA823]

I've just got an HD2 (I know it's a little late),
but i found out that this device is even better on some midrange phones in the market (according to the budget i currently have)
i knew there are WinMobile 6.5 builds, Windows 7.8, Android SD and NAND, UBuntu and finally MEEGO.
forget about WinMo 6.5, it's really outdated.
I know that some will tell me it's a matter of personal choice, but what i'm searching for is the most stable, no battery problems, and applications support.
any suggestions about the top 3 ROMS i should test/Use?

If you know that it's purely a matter of opinion then what's the logic in asking?
IMO - WP7 is fast, fluid and the best OS if you don't use too many apps
- Android works fairly well and has a much better app selection than WP, but isn't quite as smooth. It's more suited for high-end hardware
- WinMo is great (yes, that does indeed mean Windows Mobile 6.5) for business-oriented usage, with excellent battery life and stability.

I want opinions about stability, performance and battery life, with wide applications support.
the guy i bought the phone from is using an Android 2.2 build, is it worth Upgrading to the latest 4.1.2?
my Ex-phone was an touch HD (Blackstone), so i was used to putting Winmo roms only.
i'll have to read a little about how to put Android, WM7 roms.
I Agree with you that Winmo is the best in performance, battery life and currently mostly for business use, because Applications are not developed anymore for Winmo, even existing apps(specially Social) stopped working.
that's why i don't consider putting Winmo anymore, except for as a backup.

I can't answer any questions unless you provide more information about what your usage of the device will be like. Different things suit different people, you'll probably just have to try some ROMs out yourself and choose later.

I also bought my HD2 a little late in the game (some 6 months ago) and it is my second phone, I bought specificaly because I was curious to test WP7 and I knew it to be a very flexible phone if I changed my mind or new things came by (like WP8, still hope it will work some day).
That said, I use PDAimatejam WP7.8 ROM (v8.7, to be exact) and it is very stable and very, very fast, very suited to be your daily driver. There are 2 downsides (that I believe are common to all WP7 roms in the HD2):
- Lack of apps, compared to Android (that has nothing to do with the HD2, obviously). The rom I mentioned comes with the nokia apps (drive, music, etc.), I would say that your basic needs are there, depending on the type of user you are.
- Batery usage is so-so, and the batery level is inacurate. You need to perform "rituals" (look for the camera trick, for example) to have a decent battery life.
In the android front I cannot give you a personal experience (I have a Galaxy Nexus but never used android in the HD2) but the development there is very active. I would sugest you to go to a 4.1 or 4.2 ROM, it is a vast improvement over any 2.x version of android. From what I read there are very stable versions (my phone actually came with android 4.0, but I used it just for a couple hours like that). Android has a much better app coverage and as I said the development is very active, you have more ROM options to chose from. I do not know if there are any specific bugs/"characteristics" that you need to be aware, as is the case with WP7 and the batery.
Another thing, you can always try some of the options for a few days (I would recommend at least a week or two for each OS) and decide which one you like better, or even dual-boot Android and WP7. Thats the beauty of the HD2.

Well, these are the apps I Mostly use: Facebook, Twitter, WhatsUp, Skype, Navigation, RSS....
Android and WM7 will it be then i guess, with android as the main OS.
could you point me to a good Anroid ROM to start with?

If you don't browse the web too much and don't do any heavy gaming then go for a GB ROM. Choose one yourself, there are tonnes and all are good, but just don't use Sense. A CM7/MIUI GB ROM should work fine for you. I've never used WP so I can't recommend any ROMs, I guess just get the latest version if you can. I'm not going to link you to any guides because you're supposed to search (that's one of the forum rules) so I don't really see why I should do it for you
