Hello guys!
I've been running on a little bit of a problem lately. When I plug in HTC 3in1 adapter to my topaz the device makes calls automatically just by itself. I don't know what caused this, I woke up in the morning plugged in the adapter and I spot the problem, when I was listening to music and my friend started talking to me.
It calls the first person on a history list.
I was using EnergyROM from 28sep so I thought it was it's fault but no, I switched to 29oct one and the thing keeps happening to me all over again.
Any thoughts on the topic? Thanks!
Assuming you hard reset after flashing the ROMs, this sounds like a hardware issue (stuck call button).
You could try installing Tarkims Topaz keyboard remappper and set the call button to a different function to see if it activates that function.

Aaa you say that, but it onnly happens when I plug in the adapter...
Maybe there is a problem with headset's PTT button.

But my headphones does not have/support PTT button; they are normal sennheiser headphones.
Have you tried a different adaptor?

I had the same problem and it was caused by the adapter. Replacing the adapter fixed it for me.

What does the headset button do in normal use?
When you've got no calls, does it do anything? When you're in a call - does it mute or something else?

Or something else: It hangs up.
By pressing the button on a headset (bluetooth and cable) you can answer an incoming call and end any (incoming and outgoing) call, that's all (= that seems to be all you can do with this button).
I'm also disapointed that you can't start voicedialing with a headset, not with Bluetooth one and even not with a cable headset...

Not realy! Somebody found a way to start the voice dialing application by pressing the button on a Bluetooth headset, but the app is still using the internal microphon of the device, not the micro of the headset, so most of the time trying to dial will fail. If this will also be the same when starting the app via a cable headset...

Hi mates, actualy i found this:
-Cyberon voice command use the record button to start, but you can do another trick:
1-Install the latest spb pocket plus
2-Choose one of the tabs (lets say MAIN) and click add items
3-Choose custom and at the botton left click add/file and then browse the windows folder and choose "sddialer.exe"
4-Now you can start cyveron voice command from your selected tab on the touch screen.
All we need now is some one that can find a way to point the "head set button" to this new shortcut.

That's true vijay, but all of us know that you are brilliant like anothers good programers.
Cheers mate.
I have some ideas for it. It's on my "under consideration" list. But I've never used my headset, so could take a while. What does the headset do in normal use? When not in a phone call, it doesn't do anything in any other app? When in a call, it toggles the phone?
V
vijay , some post before mine, joehorn gave you the answers, it is doing nothing.
It use is: on receiving a call, click and you pick up the call and start talking.
When you want to finish that call, just click again and it is finished.
Perhaps during the conversation, if you hold down for more than 2 to 5 seconds, it will hold the call, like mute, and then do it again and you carry on with that conversation.
Hope this will help.
User22: very useful. Apologies for not seeing post above, I thought it was about bluetooth. I'll have an R&D on it. But I'm sure someone else will write this soon.

Well, like we say here " we will wait for yours notices like rain water in may"
Don't give up mate, you can do it.
vijay one more thing: when you plug your head set, the device knows that it is plugged and you can set it to autoanswer after 1 to 5 rings, maybe by this way you can investigate ¿?.
ok. in normal use the headset play´s music or other stuff. so i would like to start voice command for stop the music or play forward.
Using the cable headphone button to launch Voice Command
Hi, Has anyone managed to crack this problem of using the cable headset button to launch VC, or do I have to invest in a BT stereo headset to play my MP3s on the move?
Any ideas would be welcome...
Hi every one! i have a jasjar, and yesterday I noticed that the master microphone (the one wich is between the word imate and jasjar, the one that you use when you are in the "pda mode") doesn't function: the other (the external one) and the vivoice work fine.
When I'm in the pda mode I can't listen anything, but the others can listen me....
I've found another person which has the same problem: we have the same rom (the only one italian), so I thinked it was a software problem.
Anyone can help me? thank you very much!
no one?
Do you mean speaker? The bit you hear other people speaking from?
Does anyone know if it switches between the outter and inner speakers when using the phone in different modes? if so, is it software of hardware switching?
Sounds like its dead if its hardware. Repair shop for you.
JAmes
yeah, I mean the speaker sorry for my english.
yes, it switch automatically... I think it's an hardware problem, yes I have the warranty, but they will give me my universal back in a month and an half...
Make sure there isn't any dirt in the headphone jack which might be shorting it out.
Make a call, and see whether you are allowed to press the 'speaker on button'
If you cannot, this would suggest a jack issue.

sorry but I didn't understood... waht do you mean with speaker on button?
There are 3 ways:
1) Press and hold the green Make call button. After 2 seconds, the speakers should turn on for hands free mode
2) Press Menu and select: Speakerphone on
3) Press call status and then click Speaker On

Sometimes the locking clips in the headset input slot get stuck and do not get back,it mostly happens when the pin of the headset plug is slightly thick, just plug in the headset back and check if it works and then pull it out with a slight jerk, hope it'll get ok.
Cheers!
Hi, thanx i'm gonna try this. I will tell you if it worked
Another tryout
Have you tried to use another headset?

A friend of mine has just got an HD2 on t-mobile, He bought some sennheiser cx500's. He said when you plug them in the phone keeps randomly dialing out to the last person you called. I was sceptical but he showed me and it is true, I have some CX500's myself and not experienced any issues but I haven't used them much. I tried his pair and it did dial out once, but then couldn't get it to do it again.
Has anyone else had any wierd experiences with headphones?
Cheers
Call last number is linked to a double click of the headphones button. I can only assume he has a loose connection somewhere, that when it shorts out twice in a row makes the phone think he's double clicked the headset button.
I use a pair of V-Moda headphones and like you have never had this problem.
Thanks, do you know if there is a way of disabling the double click option?

Did you manage to solve the problem?
No, I don't often use that setup, so I thought I touched the screen by accident. But now I see it's indeed a bug somewhere in the setup.

Ok cheers, something else we have to complain to HTC about then.
Hi, I also get the crazy screen problem when I plug my phone into the AUX input on my surround sound.
Woke up today and noticed I had a lot of missed calls and messages. Tried to send myself a message and noticed there is no sound. Could the hardware be damaged? I did not install anything and I already checked everything on the system. Can anyone give suggestions?

I hate to ask, but I have to really. Do you have ringtone volume turned up? Also, in case you're not aware, you can set ringtone and system volume to be 2 different things.
Other than that, if the volume is turned up fully, can you play a music file and see if that works? Try every possible software solution before thinking it's hardware.

Yep. Did all of that. I even re-flashed the ROM just to make sure but still nothing. Guess I'll have for warranty.

Just one final check - does the earphone socket work? If it does then it's obviously a speaker problem. If the earphones don't work either then it would suggest software, but I really don't see what software could cause this after a ROM flash.
Yes the speakers socket work. Calls are fine. It's just the rear speaker that is not working. I also tried plugging/unplugging the earphones coz it happened before that after removing the earphones there was no sound. But before it worked, now still nothing.

Sounds like it's broken then mate. Sorry to say it, but I reckon you do have to get it replaced. Bad times
