Having had this X10 for 4 weeks now, I have to say it's been uphill. Coming off the TREO line (who had more than it's fair share of issues) Then to WIN6. I was pretty happy to get all the feature rich options on this Sony.
Problem I'm having here is connections.
In the 4 weeks, I've had 3 occurrences (lasting days at a time) where the network will not deliver calls to the phone. Right to voice mail. I've swapped the SIM into my old BlackJack II and still no calls incoming OR out going. I get "NETWORK BUSY". With my girlfriend having bought the same phone a week later than I did, she is having the same issues at the same times.
Albeit mine is flashed with generic NA, rooted etc.. I don't see this as being a contributor to this issue. So my question to Southwestern Ontario X10 users is.. Are you getting the same type of issues?
-Calls not going out or coming in.
-Data will not go out or come in via 3G or WiFi
-Dropped calls
-Calls straight through to voice mail
Rogers TECH level 2 says nothing (calls maybe monitored for training purposes) and for firing their rear ends should they cast shadow on Rogers holy cow 3G mess. A girl in iPhone support said 3G issues since beginning of Sept. My guy didn't have the minerals to admit it.
Wait, are you having issues with Wi-Fi too? Because that shouldn't have anything to do with Rogers.
I live in SW Ontario (Windsor) and neither I nor anyone I know has been having issues with reception.
Did this just start happening recently? I don't know how to fix it, but you could definately get some free stuff added to your plan if you argue with Rogers about how you don't get any reception
I live in London ON, with no problems at all with connection our reception I have 4 bars as I type but yah if your having problems with WiFi then defiantly something more then just connectivity issues more like a hardware issue.

I live in Hamilton, and know for a fact that they've been having issues around here, because I've seen the techs working on the towers! That being said, I've noticed a lack of getting a 3G signal in those areas, not a lack of data coming through.
As previous posters said, if WiFi isn't working either, it's gotta be a device problem.
I'm in the Caledon area and the calling portion of the phone has been solid. I've had a problem the last few days but I've confirmed with Rogers that the local tower is messed.
Did you get a new SIM card when you got the X10? I've heard folks are having problems with older Sim cards.
No problems with signal here in Ottawa. Phone calls always seem to get through, and sound fine. Think I've had one dropped call since getting the phone, and that was at my work where the building tends to cause general reception issues on most phones.
Definitely try a new SIM if you haven't already. My X10 wouldn't even boot with the SIM from my old phone.
Brantford here, no connection problems whatsoever.
Thornhill, Ontario here. I'm on Fido, but they use the same network as Rogers anyway. No connection issues here. In fact, much better reception on my X10 than previous phones (iPhone 3g, Motorola Milestone).
Kingston, ON here and no problems as well. Though I did have issues when I got the phone and I used my old sim card. Tech said to get new sim card so I did and no issues since then! Ive had the device 7 weeks now.

I live in London and since early September a lot of us have been experiencing network problems on/near UWO campus. Very delayed sms messages, inability to place phone calls, spotty (at best) 3G coverage and consequently very slow data speeds. Many of us have contacted Rogers and complained about it, supposedly it's due to a "poor coverage area" totally isolated around the university, but most likely their network is just overwhelmed now with number of students back in town, hopefully they address and fix these issues soon.

Newmarket 4 solid bars no issues at all.
My old sim card did not like the xperia, new one has been just fine.
No probs here in East York (Toronto).
Mississauga here, no problems at all!
When I talked to tech support yesterday I was told Rogers was aware of and resolving the network problems in south western Ontario, mainly the London area I guess (which where I am) has been experiencing a lot of issues the past couple weeks. Has nothing to do with reception bars or anything on the X10, any device on Rogers has been experiencing the same thing. Hopefully Rogers sorts it all out soon
Toronto, on. i had alot of issues with the phone such as receiving txts like 4 hours late, losing 3g for couple of hours, having 100 dropped calls a day. rogers told me x10 requires new sim (bs imo), got a new sim, same issue. got a new phone, all the other issues went away however i still have 10-20 dropped calls a day.
Rogers is aware of the 3G network issues from woodstock to windsor. It's been a long month of issues.
I think it has to do with many people getting smart phones and using more of the network. meh my .02
I'm in Windsor and have been experiencing the same problems. Rogers knows about it. I work in a factory and when the network goes down it is all smartphones, Iphones, X10, htc etc. I have checked. I advise everyone to call Rogers and demand a bill credit. Most of the guys at work have called and gotten half their bill credited for the month and will do so again next month if the problems still exist. I will definitely be calling customer service myself tomorrow.

hi, title says it all really. i'm looking to get a new contract and 3 seem to have a good deal, i just have a bad feeling about them.
how is reception?
how is the internet? i used to have orange and their internet was slow, wouldnt load up youtube videos nicely compared to my o2.
and is there anything else i should know??
thanks in advance.
they are present in many countries around the globe and their reception
would most likely differ in various countries
so stating where you live would most likely be helpful
hi sorry, i am in uk.
3 is an okay network in the UK, they have been doing a lot of work recently to improve signal throughout the UK. I get full signal nearly everywhere I go around London and the local suburban area's, but there are a few dead spots, which can be fixed by moving a few cm to the left or right
I've had no problems with 3 been with them for about 4 years now
Yes!
I have been using them for more than 5 years and overall it is very good network, I live in london and I hardly had any problem in anything watching youtube videos even bbc iplayer is super smooth as well as the internet browsing HSDPA speed is enabled.
The coverage in the North East is slightly better than it was, but it's still pathetic, unless you're in a city, and even then it's just adequate.
3 RAN share with t-mobile's UMTS network so you should see a lot better performance than in the early days, Although I am not to sure what the customer services are like as I have heard nothing but bad stuff!!
3
i am on orange myself but have heard 3 use tmobile for a lot of coverage and with a possible merger soon between tmobile and orange will they still get to piggyback ?

3 wont be un shared with T-Mobile as they both benefit from the agreement. I don't think internally many people know what will happen network wise between orange and t-mobile yet..
I'd really advise against going with 3.
The offers all look too good to be true and in my experience they are....
There customer service is non-existant and 4 years after i cancelled my contract i started getting letters from them and a bogus debt collection agency trying to get money out of me.
If you think mine is an isolated incident... Google "3 mobile lowell"
I never had any issue with coverage though, so if you plan to stay with them forever and dont see yourself needing to contact customer services then it's up to you.
Three Connection for internet data is crap
all the data are crap in australia when it comes down to wireless
the only good networks well anywhere is telstra
i hope they could fix all the network problem
the download speed and time is not faster enough.. and we are so way be hide

I am hoping for some insight into an ongoing issue I have been having with both my HD2 and my Nexus One.
The HD2 and the N1 are both stock with the latest Android/Winmo updates.
Here's the issue, I live just outside of Philadelphia in an area that is 3G/HSDPA+ rich based on the T-Mobile map. However, I would say 8 out of every 10 voice calls result in my phone dropping from 3G or HSDPA down to Edge or GPRS on my N1 as well as on my HD2. As soon as I hang up the HD2/N1 goes to Edge within a few seconds then to 3G or HSDPA after another 10 seconds. This can happen while static or on the go. I had this happen to me while driving into Philadelphia via 76 and the Vine St expressway. (Anyone in this area knows 3G is strong on these roads). I was on hold waiting for customer care for 45 minutes while the phone was synched to my cars Bluetooth and I saw the G signal icon the entire time. No data worked while on the phone call (obviously). Right after I hung up a bunch of emails came through.
I have reset both phones many times and have had my HD2 swapped out including the sim card and battery with no difference. I have spoken with the T-Mobile PDA department and while they're pretty good they can't figure it out.
I have used a unlocked/jailbroken iPhone in the same area and it never dropped off Edge to GPRS while I used it on T-Mobile's service. While I used it on AT&T's network it never dropped off 3G.
I'm at my wits end, I pay for something that according to T-Mobile I should be able to use my phone to talk and access data at the same time while connected on the 3G network and they agree the area's I travel in are 3G rich but here I am with no real resolution.
If anyone has any ideas I would love to hear them. I will be updating my phone to a new HSDPA+ device once T-Mobile in their infinite wisdom decide to grace us with a 4 plus inch touch screen phone but until then I would like to get what I pay for.
Thank you in advance for your insight.

You might have a hd2 with a bad radio. I purchased a T-Mobile hd2 the day it came out and had it only for about a week before sending it in for the exact same.reason. t-mobile tried everything but nothing seemed to work ( check my apn settings, refresh my line etc....) so they sent me a new hd2 and I noticed the new one had a red reset button instead of a yellow one that my original hd2 had . Maybe it was just coincidence but I have not had the problem at all on the new one .

If it happens on both phones we know it's not the phone... Are you always in your car when it's doing it?
No I'm not. In the car or out doesn't seem to matter. There does not seem to be a common thread other than both phones are from HTC. Maybe the phone is trying to conserve power or something??

I was having 3g drop out for me before. Not total data coverage, but 3g. However, it seems to be back now. I'm in SW Ohio.
the only way to find out if there is an outage is to call sprint and ask
I am just out side of dallas texas and a few poeple are having issues around here as well.
I called sprint twice, they said its not their fault and here is the list of excuses in the order in which they gave them to me:
1 my phone is the problem, or something i did to it
2 interference from my building (despite no change when i step outside)
3 other carriers interference
4 user error
the tech person had me open my browser and try to load a page and of course it didnt load, then she had me turn on wifi and try the same page and of course it worked and she tried to say "its fixed now" "is there anything else i can do for you?" i laughed and said my wlan is not the issue i am calling about! what a joke!!
but they assured me nothing is wrong with their network and that i need to take my phone to a sprint store to have it checked out
interesting details:
1 other people with sprint in my area are having issues too, but most people dont care enough to call
2 when i drive away from my small town i start to get signal, i stop roaming, i can make and receive calls, i have good 3g.
3 when i drive back into my small city i start roaming and i loose all data
4 i always have had excellent voice and data in my small town
i believe there is a problem with the tower in my area but they want me to to drive 30 mins to have someone look at my phone. i can drive 5 mins out of my town hop on the next tower and my phone is fine.the badd thing is as soon as i get on a working tower its fine, so when i drive to the sprint store they are going to realize my phone is fine.
apparently the issue is limited to the tower in my area and apparently no one else has bothered to complain about it so i get to just deal with with.
i post in this thread to maybe help someone in the future and personal log sheet.
Actually I get about 3 to 4 bars in my house normally and lately i was having issues of getting no 3g or data and loosing all bars but still registering and not giving me the x of no signal. My phone has also been switching to roaming all lot (roaming btw gives me like 1x speeds never 3g speeds even though it says i have it on my mikG rom)
So I think the issue is in a few small towns and that they are fiddling with something.
Probbaly updating the tower .

i don't want to keep this thread alive but i thought i should say that i called sprint back today and i told the tech if they expected me to leave my work to go have some one look at my phone i will instead travel to a store to cancel my service. i hate being a hard a$$ but i dont have time for other peoples problems when i pay them to deliver.
anyways, this tech was cool, nice, and helpful. he sent something to my phone and it fixed it!! i asked him what he did and he didnt seem to really know precisely what he was doing either. im guessing he was just following a flow chart but he did share some inside info about towers with me.
bottom line is my service is working so i will stop crying now!!
today has been nothing but terrible. im from florida
Picked up new GS3 a week ago. Friends and family I spoke to complained of distorted, underwater, and/or garbled sound when I talked. I assumed that I got a defective microphone so I exchanged it.
I immediately called several people on the newly exchanged GS3 and all of them reported the same issues in sound reception as the previous one.
I have tried adjusting with the noise reduction-to no success. I also tried using the speaker phone and still the same problem persists. I tried using the ear piece the phone came with with no changes.
Has anyone come across the same issue? If so, what is the fix? I love the phone overall but being that I use my cell for business calls through out the day this issue will drive me and my contacts crazy!
Perhaps an app that can help boost of fix the problem? I do not want to root my phone due to bricking and insurance issues with my HTC EVO.
Any ideas or solutions would be appreciated...
Where are you located? This is most likely not a problem with your phone, but more likely the network in your area. If you are in an area that is currently in the process of being upgraded (i.e. Chicago) there have been quite a few problems with the upgrade. I am in the Chicago suburbs and had the exact same issues with call quality on my Epic 4g for over a month while Sprint was upgrading the towers in my area.

I am in the San Francisco, California area. When the I activated the second phone it did an auto update. I know the LTE service is not up and running yet in our area.
Hello xda. I need help.
The Issue: Bought a stock US LG G2 D800, unlocked (but AT&T branded) off a reseller on e bay back in May of 2015. The seller advertises their phones as new/unused. Long story short, the phone basically has been unusable to me for it's main function - to make/receive/maintain phone calls.
I've researched a ton online, and here on xda, but have yet to find a definitive solution for the G2. I first was trying to use the phone on a Tmobile service provider: Family Mobile. Then because of the crapped out signal reception, I tried other service providers because I thought the there was something up with Family Mobile. I tried - Metro PCS, Straight Talk, then finally straight AT&T. My signal fluctuates between 1 and 3 bars of service at home every 30 seconds to 1 minute with all of those service providers. At 1 bar, I'll either drop calls or can't carry on a conversation.
I've spent hours talking to customer service reps and changing my settings with no resolution only to finally put the last SIM card into my old BLU phone and immediately get at least 3 bars of signal at home. Every service provider stated my area of Southern California (I'm just east of Los Angeles) was well covered for voice and data LTE service. For years prior to getting the G2, I in fact had good service at home with my previous phones and most everywhere else (I had been with Tmobile Walmart Family Mobile for at least 4 years before getting the G2).
An AT&T Microcell signal booster at home works, but I need to use voice services everywhere else anybody else would, and the issue is apparent anywhere and everywhere. Once in a while, depending on where regionally I am, it will get full 5 bars of signal, but that is rare.
The phone has a 1 year warranty. I've sent it to LG for repair 3 times and they just give me the run around. First they replaced the camera, then they said they found no problem, finally they said it was a Flash Memory issue. I've read that they blacklist some phones after the first visit for repair.
I read all through this post but found no exact fix for US phones - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=46648526#post46648526
The seller sent me another new G2 phone, and guess what, same issue. The first phone was updated to 5.0.2. The replacement phone is still running 4.4.2. Yet the problem is the same, only that the 5.0.2 phone also has the GPS connectivity issue and the hot battery issue.
I still have both phones, although the seller asked me to send back the "bad" phone. From all I've read, the issue is either related to some D800's software or bad design of antenna. I saw the video on the GPS/Signal fix but tried it and that didn't do anything for me.
Some G2 owners from Europe and the Middle East have fixed their signal issues by rooting and going from there. I have never rooted a phone and don't have experience with flashing rom's and related, but I'm willing to learn. Does anyone have any knowledge of a US specific fix for this issue? I'll either stay with AT&T, or since I know Tmobile service actually works (and it's cheaper), I may go back to them, so if there is a software fix, it may be AT&T or Tmobile specific from what I've read.
Thanks.
