My dream is CyanogenMod ROM with HTC Sense. I like HTC dialer, contacts and HTC Launcher. But now I'm trying Launcher Pro with Beautiful Widgets and Pure Grid Calendar and it's look also very good. Instead of HTC keyboard I'm using Swype now.
I also like this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=733682
But it doesn't work for me, for now.

I am currently developing a build at the minute. If anybody knows were I can download a sense rom I can disable sense and just have the features you request. Currently I only have the nexus one builds which I dont particulary like!

Don't forget a feature ONLY CyanogenMod has so far... a real working Audio DPS with graphic equalizer. Something Android badly misses compared to WinMO.

me too!!

I would be! but im not lol
Sense on winmo is amazing, but I dont see the big fuss about it on android. I do like the keyboard though

There is a Froyo rom for the MyTouch Slide, but it doesn't have the Sense UI, and even though I always use LauncherPro as default and not the Sense Launcher, it feels weird not having Sense UI, so I switched to SlideMEROOT5.
Even though you can use other launcher instead of the Sense Launcher.
The Sense Dialer, Music Player, onscreen-Keyboard, and the Sense Task Bar!!! Are part of the best of the Sense UI !!!

I had to go back to a Sense rom for the dialer. Cannot believe stock Froyo dialer doesn't search contacts as you dial. And the Sense mail app is better too, can actually move mail to folders. Other than that I use Launcher Pro and its widgets.

I like Sense without the Sense Launcher too All the little stuff that HTC brings like the keyboard, fm radio, the camera app is better too. I like Launcher pro with all the shortcut dock.

Like others, I like the "other" features of sense but not the launcher. I especially like that the Facebook link actually works on the sense builds. I use Zeam launcher, because I love the Quick Launch bar and the swipe functions. I am currently using mccm's new sense version and getting ready to try Sergio's new entry.

I really want the Froyo to have Sense already!!!

Hi!
One other feature, in addition to the keyboard and dialer that I cant live without is the link feature in sense contacts. I find that feature extremely useful, the way you can link Facbeook, Google, exchange and phone contacts is unique to sense. I could perfectly well live without the launcher and the sense widgets though.

HTC Sense with fly-in effect build

Hi,honestly, I'm a HTC sense lover, however due to the animation of sense, i switched to Launcher pro...and HTC sense just feels like WINMO most of the time...Is it possible to make HTC sense got the fly-in effect when quitting or enter an application?

Hi,just tried spare part from the market...but it doesn't work on my froyostone build.Anyway, thanks a lot, get to know one new app...switched back to launcher pro...
Try ADW.Launcher, it has the fly in effect when opening and closing the app drawer. It is also much more flexible on the desktop grid layout.

Launcherpro on top of HTC Sense

I like launcherpro because of its scrollable dock. It is immensely useful. That is why I refuse to use HTC Sense. But I have recently learned that you can use launcherpro on top of htc sense. How much slower does it become when you do that. I assume that stock android with launcher pro is faster than htc sense with launcher pro, but what is the lag/speed difference? Is it at all noticeable?

I am currently using HyperDroidSense and HyperDroid with LaunherPro. As far as everything goes, I don't see much different when using LauncherPro on Sense build. Sense still goes as fast as regular Android; however, Sense widget will not work under LauncherPro.

Same conclusions, that's why I don't like sense builds. sight ot, i tried today htcclay supermiui build, all is smooth as iphone, I'm in love
No lag caused by running Sense in the 'background' on Darkstone v3.1. The widgets don't work but LauncherPro has similar widgets which I actually prefer. I like the Sense builds because of better email and a much better dialler.

sense/no sense (hm... almost makes sense to me)

hello guys, it's me again.
i am browsing the android development section ever since i changed to the revolution rom.
i see there are some roms that have htc sense and some that do not. i understand that the htc sense is the UI the phone come with. i think that i'm right thinking that it's the 7 pages + widgets. probably some other stuff too that, well, i'm too newbie to understand.
what i don't understand is if htc sense has the stocks/twitter/facebook etc and whether you can have htc sense without them (gee, i don't think this sentence made sense...)
ok, let me recap and explain. when htc sense is "present" do i always have to deal with unwanted apps like the stocks/twitter/facebook etc or there are sense roms that don't have these?
i really like the htc sense UI but i totally dislike facebook and the likes ( i don't use them at all )
are these things linked to htc sense? if i want to get rid of them, do i have to install a non sense rom on the phone?
i really hope what i wrote is understandable (used the word "sense" too much)
any help would be appreciated
Cheers !!!
You can uninstall the sense apps, should you wish but then your left with the sense framework still consuming precious CPU cycles. So imho if you aren't using all the sense crud i.e friendstream etc. why not lose sense altogether?
I know it consumes more power, sense that is. But if I install a senseless Rom, will I still have the 7 pages + the widgets? Or if widgets won't be installed, can I add them later on?
BTW, how can I uninstall all the sense apps since I can't see them in the app list? I read that you can do that from titanium backup..
Cheers !!!

Sense is the "Front-end" to the phone, the "desktop program", in a way. The cool thing about Android is you can use other front ends (aka Launchers), there's a ton out there with a different look and feel: LauncherPro, ADW, Zeam Launcher, SPB Shell 3D, most of which are less bloated than Sense.
So, if you don't plan to use Sense, some developers offer a non-Sense version of their builds mostly so as to save space
If you do want Sense, though, I'm really not sure if their built-in widgets are removable, pretty sure it's all integrated.
But, if you want similar widgets without having Sense, there are tons of alternatives, look around the Market. Pure Messenger Widget is very powerful and customizable, for example, and LauncherPro Plus (paid version) has some good built-in widgets too!
Sense is HTC's UI, you can flash no-sense rom, such as CM7, MIUI etc.
Google apps is not permitted integrating in CM's rom, so after you flash it, there are not the apps like you said. but you can install them.
I think this link should clarify. The what u lose are basically all ur htc sense stuff.

Rom Search

Hey all, I've been looking around but haven't been able to find my cup of tea exactly. I've been looking for a sense based rom that allows me to use HTC apps and widgets, however I want a customizable dock and number of screens, like that off launcherpro. Is there any such thing that exists?
Any sense rom will let you run launcher pro.
Except you can't use htc widgets...
Nope, if you run a launcher you can't use HTC widgets. However, if you buy LauncherPro Plus you get a, bunch of widgets that are similar to HTC's widgets.
Sent from my HTC EVO 4G with Tapatalk
Launcherpro plus has some sense like widgets, so it depends on which widgets you are looking for.
You can also look for ROMs/themes that change the rosie look and function.
Short answer though, is no, no ROM exists like that.

Tips & Tricks: Replacing Sense with CM7

I think not only I would appreciate tips how to replace Sense with CM7 with the same functionality.
If you want app suggestions.
Syncmypix for facebook image sync to contacts.
Pure messenger widget to replace friendstream.
Dialer one or go dialer for dial pad quick dial of contacts.

I'd say Launcher pro plus, as close as you'll get to Sense but with the upside of fully resizable widgets and other fantastic stuff like an SMS widget that lets you preview your texts at a glance.
I find Go Launcher much smoother. I still have my Launcher pro licence, but its completely uninstalled from my device. Plus its still updated.
go for android make message widgets fb/twitter widgets calendar clock contacts task manager and so on just like LP+ but without having to pay for them... bonus.
I actually did replace a sense 2.1-3.0 mix rom with the latest cm7 nightly just yesterday and I have to say that it's awesome!! i found my way with GO launcher ex which has now a lot of widgets, such as contacts, calendar (both beautiful), facebook and twitter as well... the clock/weather widget is provided by GO weather (with LG skin!!).
I also installed an awesome theme for go launcher, which is RetroPlus..
it is amazing how smooth my desire is now!!
and that new rings lockscreen is just spectacular!!

Huh? Is this a new feature for CM7?
What about a good keyboard replacement? I hate the stock keyboard and love the HTC one.

SwiftKey X is pretty good...
And the biggest tip is: Just go CM7. You wont ever go back.
I was really attached to Sense. Now it gives me the chills. lol

I've gotta say that i would agree with you but there are a few things that are not as good as sense in CM7, such as the camera and Facebook intergration. I think if those 2 were resolved then I'd go back to CM7..
Like rootSU I've a paid copy of Launcher Pro Plus, but after switching to Go Launcher Ex I'm finding it a lot better.
Best keyboard imho is Swype.

+1 on SwiftKey. I find both of the launchers very smooth, but you must set memory preset to 'light' in LPP. After doing so I couldn't make it lag with helicopter view again, even with all 5 screens loaded with widgets. I used my widgets and LPP on top of the Sense roms for 6 months or so.

Alternate dialers have no permission to clear notifications on 2.3.
Here you go. the "only" true sense-like launcher:
http://lpsense.allo-mobile.fr/lp-sense-ui-download-is-here/
+ sense widget pack for this launcher
+ Fancy Widget clock (h7C)
+ Widget Locker (with sense theme)
+ dialer one
+ http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=970459 (for t-mobile Theme Chooser)
DONE
(and do not forget to press the thanx button )
