Hello, i have a problem with my HTC .
The power button is always pressed i had a rom on it before then i switched to the official rom from htc blackstone (HK).
I k'now this isn't a hardware problem because , the system is acting very slow to !!!.I also used Android 2.2 on it.
Things i've tried ,
Soft reset
Hard Reset
And it has been never exposed to water.
Have you consider sending it to HTC for repairing?

Have you tried preforming a hard reset? (I think you hold down the end, camera and reset buttons at the same time, not 100% sure though, search the threads ) Also, what rom are you using, custom or official cause it could have been a dodgy flash?
Hello,
i have HTC touch condition is good looks but unfornatly dead

Tried re-flashing ROM in bootloader? Or battery replacement? Had similar problem with HTC Universal just 2 weeks ago. Couldn't believe the battery would just shut off at 78% after being on charge overnight. Re-flashed - same result. It was the battery.

Pressing any combination of buttons on a dead device will not help. Your problem can be either: software (flash incompatibility), hardware (usually if the device fell on a hard surface or was knocked) and battery. The easiest one to check is the battery, of course.
Similar thing also happens to some users who purchased HTC Touch clone off a Chinese website and attempted to flash the ROM to one of the ROMs on this site developed for Elf or Elfin.

Dear all,
Please help to find a solution to the following problem, after I installed new HSPL and Nand Android my HD2 would not response. It does not freeze. Touch screen isn't working after it boots and then screen locks the first time. I receive incoming calls and so on but screen is not working. It happened once before when I got Artemis rom running but I got it solved after factory rom rollback. But this trick is not helping this time. I've tried to roll back to the factory rom with original SPL, tried to install WM7. It boots and works just fine accept I can't unlock the screen %) So if any one had same kind of problem can I get some advice please. It makes me to believe that this is software problem.
Thank you in advance!
Apparently this is not such an uncommon problem with the HD2. I have just arranged for my HD2 to be replaced under warranty. Mine would respond fine right after a reboot and stays fine as long as the phone is kept on. But if I turn the phone off and turn it on again there is no touch response whatsoever. There are many complaints about this issue from other HD2 users. If the HD2 were a car, an automatic recall would have been issued.
yeah the problem is hardware and not software
everytime you push " end/lock" button you press down where connection from digitizer is to motherboard. After time it breaks it completely and makes the touchscreen unusable -_- so just send it for warranty
Thanks guys! I suppose this is the only way!
Have the same problem. Phone is in the service waiting for spare parts (touch). Screen stopped to respond on touch within one day slowly not at once.
Yeah I really can't imagine a.y other way. Ship it off and good luck.

hi my hd2 touch screen alone get hangs when i press return hardware key for more than(2 seconds or long press) if i turn off and turn my screen i find my touch screen works ...
i was using android when i got the problem...
so i did task29, uninstall HSPL, install stock windows 6.5 rom....i find same problem in widows too....
plz hlep me...what is the problem? my HD2 is out of warrenty now....
i have the exact same problem nothing we can do but send it for repair, maybe we pressed end key too hard, the touchscreen connector is under it i think so it may be loose or cracked now...its so weird, sometimes i can unlock phone and use it and use it until the screen locks again
Its because the digitizer connection is just behind the power/end key. Many people have this issue and usually blame it on Android (Some topics are realy amusing ) when infact its simply because of hardware failure.
you will need to send it in for warranty/repair.
thanks for the reply kag8

Has anyone of you guys encountered the same issue with your HTC HD2? Care to share the fix you did? Would this mean bye-bye to my HD2 already?

If a clean install (task 29) doesn't help, then I guess you have no other option than sending it for reparation.
It seems like there is a limited life span on the touchscreen. Mine died in October, and I had to buy a replacement because nothing I did fixed the problem.
I had the same issue as you, but in my example touchscreen is slowly dying. For example I can't wake up the phone pressing right (red) button. So I learned that using any other button will not cause freeze of screen. I also discovered that if you gently slap your phone on hand, magically screen starts responding. Weird, but it's ‘working’ like this since 5 months so far.
I just encountered this problem with my HD2 as well. It seems that this is a fairly common issue. Apparently the digitizer for the touchscreen is located directly beneath the red power button and has a tendency to lose its connection.
For me, holding the red power button down with some force for about 5 seconds fixed the issue. Is this temporary? Perhaps, but it has worked just fine for a few days now. Try that out.
Can't Unlock the Phone..
I am having the same problem..I can't unlock the phone..No matter what android Rom I installed.I tried to removed the lock screen and the touch stopped working..But when the phone restarts and you put you pin etc,I can use the phone normally..but when it goes black and trying to turn it on again nothing works on the screen..
Though the hard buttom works..Home screen etc..but can't get the touch to work after the screen goes black!
It's not rom related
I have installed WM6.5 (Stock), Android GB, Android ICS, Android JB But the problem appears to be the same in all
when I press Red button touch doesn't work any more
I would go with digitizer theory
BUT my question is this:
is it gonna get worse? cause for now as long as i avoid Red button everything is OK :good:
and I love my HD2 but if getting worse is possible I have to get rid of it :crying:
Well i had the same problem.now my phone has been to the service centre for reparing

Funny (or sad) thing is we don't have an official service center here
so only option is to replace it or sell it as the way it is
Try this:
Lock the screen normally, screen turns off. (Power button)
To turn it on again by pressing any other screen buttons other than the power button. (DONT USE THE POWER BUTTON TO DO THIS)
I found that if I do it this way, the screen runs normal.
