Seems to me that your powerbutton is broken, just play with the powerbutton and the softresetbutton, just do a lot of pushes, I know it sounds weird but just give it a go, also remove and insert battery several times.
Sometimes this will do the trick, really hope it helps.

s200 test pins

Hey there guys, congratulations for the good work.
I bought xda neo from e bay a year ago. Things went good till one day i had to reinstall the Rom. I did it with succes then i tried to install a programm and it asked for reboot. I checked "YES" and it started shutting down. The next thing i remember is waiting for hours to start up but it never did.
It does not boot at all seems like dead.
Battery is working good 'cause i checked it to a friends mobile and I also tried to use his battery to mine but didnt work. Tried to connect it to the pc by the cables but didnt work too.
I heard that there are some pins which can be jumpered in order to connect the mobile cpu direclty with the pc...
Any ideas? I am starting to believe that it wont work again...
Thanks for your time....
keep up the good work!

hard reset
try doing a hard reset, you will lose all information if you havent backed up but atleast your pocket pc will be up and running again
I tried hard reset but it does not respond...
just to make sure before you go trying with pins or something, I take it you have tried to get it to bootloader?
(with a turned off phone, press and hold camera button then insert USB cable)

Yes, I have done that too, but still no response. I was told that the olny way to check it if it is broken is to use the test pins but i still havent found anyone who knows about them ( where they are on the mobo )...
Are you familiar with their place on the mobo???

I am willing to pay for the info ....i am desperate!!!

WHO CAN HELP ME in this Thread... please!

I have a BIG problem because I install this app 'EveryWAN-Remote-Support-3-0-15760' from this http://www.sparus-software.com/spip....wnload&lang=en and I don't know why... my HD is death now I was in activesync with this app and I try all tools TaskManager, FileStorage and when I click the icon 'turn-off screen'... no more HD..., no charge... dont soft-reset, don't bootloader, etc. I'am now very un-happy because I don't understand what's happen with my HD
If nothing else work, why don't you try a hard reset?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=puL795s1bY4 <- second half of the video is how you do it.
Hi,
Have you tried to remove the battery, wait a little, and place it back?
Also, refer to this thread:

Hi,
Have you checked that thread I mentioned?
Look specially at this post:

Well, some other things to try:
- check if some button (including soft reset) is mal-functioning. Try to release, or clean them.
- is any card (sim or memory) in the phone? If yes, remove them.
- has the phone been exposed to moisture, liquids? ensure that it is dried out, but do not expose it directly to heat or to a dryer...
- try to connect the charger to the phone without battery, leave it a little then disconnect, then place battery and finally the charger , trying to power on
- have you contacted the author of the rom about the issue? Maybe he might have some ideas ...
Good luck!

Help, please! My Shift won't boot.

Hi,
I desperately need some help with my Shift.
When I tried to boot from a flash drive, it froze up. I removed and reinserted the battery, and now it won't start at all!!
The power-led lights up, and the fan starts spinning, but nothing else seems to happen when I turn on my Shift. The screen is blank, and none of the other leds light up. (Except for the battery-led when I'm charging).
I can switch to windows mobile, and everything is fine there, but I get the blank screen when I switch back.
I fear it is a problem with the BIOS. Do anybody know if it is possible to reset the BIOS?
Any feedback that can help me with this is greatly appreciated.
Your Shift is a gonner..

Thanks . I figured the motherboard was toast. I will e-mail HTC right away. Hope it doesn't take too long.
How long did yours take?
Repair full round trip was 16 days. I'm from the Netherlands, bought my shift at www.umpcshop.nl pretty good service they have.
EDIT : If you are mailing HTC, prepare for hibernation, and I mean you, not your device. They just don't give a f-you-c-k about their customers.

My Acer NeoTouch s200 is dead

Hi im from Germany,
i tried to flash my Acer S200 but it stopped by 50% and i have pluged the cable out. I cant turn it on, it gives no signal, i cant bring it to the download mode. Nothing is working no hardreset with buttons.Nothing is working and when i plug it to usb the LED isnt blinking
Sorry for my bad english ..
my phone is new, it has garanty, should i contact the acer support or can anyone help me ?
Hold volume up/vol down button + reset until you see "clean boot"
i tried it the phone gives no signal .. no clean boot is coming .. the rom flashing was at 50% i think it is breaked
but thank you
did you try removing then replacing the battery. then try bootloader mode again?
yes i tried but nothing is working i cant enter the bootloader nothing is working it is just off no vibration nothin is working
sorry, but I have to ask, are pressing then holding vol down +power +camera buttons
at the same time until blinking red light starts?
you have to get into bootloader mode then flash a custom rom
brainmaster has a few including a "clean" rom.
I had this happen awhile ago and tried so many things for 2 days that now I don't
remember what actually worked! But I don't think that your S200 is bricked.
Also, make sure that you keep the power cable pluuged in (not usb)
you need a good charge even if you don't see the green light.
just keep trying and if I can remember I let you know.
or someone here will help you to find a solution!
thank you for your help but there is no light blinking. Also when i plug it to charge no light is going on. it doesnt charge the battery. i hope you can remember
i already know how to flash a rom but the phone doesnt give any sign
sorry I can't remember but you should ask brainmaster and maybe he can really help.
And he speaks german= )
thank you i will send him my problem
Any solution
Hi. I kind of found myself in the same situation. My acer s200 is unresponsive, no blinking lights no matter key/reset combinations. Had been in the middle of flashing on a new ROM when it got accidentally disconnected.
Any possible solution? Already checked the battery out in a different phone and it's fine and charged.
Hey,
i don't want to looks like a vultur, but if some of you can't find a solution to resolve the problem you have, I'm interested by the device because I need some piece. Of course I hope you can resolve your problem but if there are no led blinking, the last possibility is to send it to acer, and if you don't want to wait/pay/or whatever to with the acer support, I'm interested by your device.
Arto
Vulture indeed!! I'm need of help man.
you still need help?????
Hey GarcoG. Yes, still in need of help. My S200 is currently a desktop paperweight at home. It's a beautiful paperweight but it was made for so much more. Would really like to get it up and running again.
A new thing I noticed. I'm able to charge my phone's battery to full on my friend's s200. Of course when I put it back into my phone, it's still completely unresposive. However, I noticed that whenever I put it back into my friend's phone, the charge on it has reduced. I'm pretty sure it's not a battery issue I have since my phone is still unresponsive with my friend's battery in it and the same happens with that battery as well.
Would really appreciate any ideas on fixing this.
Hi, count me in. I just jumped on your wagon.. will try to disassemble this beauty soon before I officially demote it to a shiny paperweight.. well it's not that shiny, i put on a matte screen protector on it
Really funny about that matte screen protector. Cannot wait for the results. In my case, phone got accidentally connected just as it had reached the stage of flashing on the new ROM. Was thinking it was probably unresponsive because the ROM instructions that enable it respond to key combinations are absent hence cant get it into Bootloader mode.
@ incognito_tkd: Any luck with the disassembly? Would like to know your findings.
I have same problem... same situation
But... when I connect my USB charger, it shows red LED on... as if the charging is ON. But no reaction
Any one help please
there is no possibility to repair the phone... you have to send it to acer !!
i got my phone 1month after i´ve send it

Strange HD2 Power Button behavior

Hi guys,
I got some really annoying problems with my HD2 and can't find a solution for it.
My power button on the HD2 isn't working as intended.
If I power off the phone, I can boot it sometimes up using the power button, sometimes it doesn't respond to pressing it at all.
If I connect the phone to the computer or notebook it instantly powers up on it's own. same goes for the charger.
The strange thing is .. if the phone starts on its own (by being connected to the charger or computer) the power button is working flawlessly afterwards. Sometimes the button is working as intended, but suddenly stops working while trying to end a call or whatever.
I've currently installed Android on it .. I don't know if it's hardware or software related .... but it really drives me up the wall.
Maybe some of you are able to help me out
Best regards

Probably your END CALL/Power button is slowly dying(metaphorically speaking).
Being on Android(probably on Magldr) it's normal for your phone to start/boot up everytime is off and you plug it in(USB or charger).
IMO you should replace your hardware buttons flex or just leave it this way and avoid to use it.
Replacing it is not an easy job, I wouldn't recommend it to DIY unles you have a relevant experience on stuff like this or a very native skilled&lucky person!
Good luck!
thanks for the response.
I can't change the hardware buttons 'coz I already replaced the display and digitizer.
If I have to open the HD2 again the digitizer will separate from the display ....
too bad seems I have to bear with it
It's still hard to believe the power button is dying 'coz after the phone is automatically turned on by being plugged to a computer or the charger the button is working flawlessly.
and there are only a few seconds between it.
seems the phone has a problem recognizing the power on command if it's turned off

possible but still possible button board ...
Maybe worth trying other kernels & roms to rule out firmware issues ...
I'm trying a different battery now.
searched the internet and found someone with similar problems.
he fixed it by replacing the battery.
i'll give it a shot
edit: other battery doesn't change anything. I'll keep trying
