Hey all
I have an XDA IIi, which was working totally fine. I bought a windows smartphone, which was to replace the IIi as my main phone, so I took the sim out of the IIi and put it in the new phone. Put another sim in the IIi and attempted to power it on, I got nothing, so I put it on the cradle..all I get is a steady red light from the right LED.
When I was powering the phone off initially to take the sim off, I turned the PDA off, removed the cover, slid the red switch, waited a few seconds, and removed the battery etc....
The red light flashes when the battery is removed, and goes steady again when put back in. Sometimes it goes off when put back in, but nothing else happens.
I have tried soft resetting, hard resetting, hard reset while holding down every key I can think of at the same time, but still no go.
Is my IIi dead forever, or is there something that can be done to get it working again?
Thanks all
same thing happened to my friends XDA2 and no one ever was able to reply back nor did he ever figure out what happened to it because his warranty was up and he just bought a new one from someone, if you find out whats wrong please let me know because thats the SAME way his went bad, by changing a SIM card

I take my sim out all the time. is yours unlocked? even if it's locked to o2, it might not accept other o2 simcards. have you tried putting the original sim back in? Hard reset? I've never had it show a RED light before. this is interesting...
I have same problem after I put device on charge and after five - ten minutes his back to life
I too had this problem when i left my m1000 in my coat pocket over the weekend. It was completely dead, plugging it into the cradle to charge just gave me nothing, but if i left it, after around 10 minutes, the rred light came on, then changed to amber after around half an hour.
Phew. just dead battery. Have you tried the other battery that came with your xda ?
Hi, I had this wierd problem the other day, sorted it with a hard reset
Hope this helps.

Ok, I will try to make my probmen more clear...
I bought my Prophet (QTEK S200) in March and everything has been working fine (also bluetooth) till few weeks ago when, all of a sudden, my prophet start taking more than 4 minutes to boot. I try removing some hacks or uninstalling soem programs, but nothing. After few weeks I realise that actually also BT is not working: in comm manag, there should be an X on the BT button when turned off, but I see none; instead the BT icon is green but the blu led is not blinking. I try clicking on he BT button several times, but nothing changes: still the icon is green, no X and no blue led. I try also with SETTINGS > BLUETOOTH > MODE tab: I check the "Turn on BT" box and press ok, but nothing, because when go back to the tab the box is not checked anymore.
Yesterday I uninstalled an old version of Skype and installed the nw one, turned on my WIFI and chatted for a while: all ok. Then I open PIE and browse some sites and all of a sudden the prophet freezes. I soft reset (with the stylus) and guess what: the prophet takes less than 2 minutes to boot. I try to soft reset few more times: same fast boot. So I go and check the BT: it works properly now!!!!!
An finally I plug the USB cable to sync the prophet with Active Sync 4.2: sync is done. Then I soft reset again and guess what?!?!?! 5 minutes to boot and no BT working!!! SGRUNT!!!!!
Ok, I say, time for a hard reset: I press the two buttons on the left side and I use the stylus, press green button at prompt and hard reset starts. Guess what? The prophet takes 5 minutes to reach he windows logo and the first time wizard. I try 3 more times, same result. And when the prophet is up and running (after restore of original settings) BT is still not working...
I do not know what to think. To me it looks that the BT problem and the long boot are related. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Try the Hardreset. If the device will work well after that - it is just software problem. If no - sorry...
As i said, I tried hard reser, and still not working

any one can help !!! please
Hi there,
i'm also having lot of troubles with my Prophet.
My opinion, but not sure as many other are using it successfully, it that it comes from the A2DP patch.
It started by the phone feature. I can't use it without using the Bluetooth headset (without headset, i have only noise in the speaker, also in the headphone plugged on the bottom). Then it started with Bluetooth that woudln't turn on. So no way to make calls anymore (shame for a phone...). And from this evening, i see issues also with WLAN!!! I can't turn it on.
Hard reset, flashing a new ROM, Radio ROM doesn't change anything.
I am desperated, i now need to flash it back to German O2 ROM and give it to repair to O2. Hoping they will not see it has been flashed with other ROM.
btw: could someone taking German <please> find me an adress for an O2 shop near Aachen? I can't find by myself on the O2 web pages. Many thanks in advance.
NO BT!!!
thegios, I exactly have the same problem, did you find a solution to your problem? NO BT, 5 minutes boot up time!!!

telephone replaced... (under warranty luckly...)
it looks like the broken bluetooth affects somehow the boot procedure
Oh no... I have this exact same issue... so it must be the ad2p hack... did we all have this? My phone take 5 minutes to boot and no BT too.... exactly the same!!! check my threads~~!
I did no ad2p hack
m... so the dealer wasn't able to repair it? i already have a mother board replacement... i don't want another one...
repair? do u think that for them it's cheaper to repair than to replace?
the dealer we have here seems to beleive so... they refuse to give replacements. and all they do is provide shotty repairs so you have to keep going back. its frustrating. This phone has caused me a lot of headaches.
I bought it in a big mall, so what the shop did is to package it and send it to the dealer and in 8 days i got back my same phone with simply the WHOLE motherboard replaced, which means new rom, new mac address, new everything
only front and back cover are the same
maybe.... cos I found a tape to cover infrared, so maybe they kept nly front cover, since also the power button feels different (not it is harder to push it)
loki bluetooth problem

myself too !!!!!
i have done all you said but same problems
i noticed that when you got windows mobile screen if you dont see the blue light
you can anyway reboot cause you wont got bluetooth at the end of the boot
when i associate a bluetooth gps, it s sucks...
anyway i m in the same s**** .
i think it's a hardware problem....
waitin for any another experiment to solve this f*** problem...
its a hardware... I installed a new rom and bluetooth worked until it was reboot... and also it would stop working when i left the phone alone for a few hours... MB had to be replaced...
my prophet also needs more than 4 minutes to boot. but my bluetooth is working and i don't see any other error. what can i do?

Dude,
You can Hard Rest your device through Clearstore only when the device is running. I assume your device is not powering on, so Hold the Camera Button and the Third button i.e, the Comm button and with your stylus push the reset button. Hold the first two buttons till your get factory reset message on the screen. Once on that screen, press the green button, ie. the call making button. The device will restore itself to the factory settings.
Good luck.
Please help me, nothing happened my qtek s200 is dead i have the same problem suddenly it turned off and never went on again, i replaced the battery and nothing happened just a red light turn on when i connect it to the wall charger. Please help
Hi im from Germany,
i tried to flash my Acer S200 but it stopped by 50% and i have pluged the cable out. I cant turn it on, it gives no signal, i cant bring it to the download mode. Nothing is working no hardreset with buttons.Nothing is working and when i plug it to usb the LED isnt blinking
Sorry for my bad english ..
my phone is new, it has garanty, should i contact the acer support or can anyone help me ?
Hold volume up/vol down button + reset until you see "clean boot"
i tried it the phone gives no signal .. no clean boot is coming .. the rom flashing was at 50% i think it is breaked
but thank you
did you try removing then replacing the battery. then try bootloader mode again?
yes i tried but nothing is working i cant enter the bootloader nothing is working it is just off no vibration nothin is working
sorry, but I have to ask, are pressing then holding vol down +power +camera buttons
at the same time until blinking red light starts?
you have to get into bootloader mode then flash a custom rom
brainmaster has a few including a "clean" rom.
I had this happen awhile ago and tried so many things for 2 days that now I don't
remember what actually worked! But I don't think that your S200 is bricked.
Also, make sure that you keep the power cable pluuged in (not usb)
you need a good charge even if you don't see the green light.
just keep trying and if I can remember I let you know.
or someone here will help you to find a solution!
thank you for your help but there is no light blinking. Also when i plug it to charge no light is going on. it doesnt charge the battery. i hope you can remember
i already know how to flash a rom but the phone doesnt give any sign
sorry I can't remember but you should ask brainmaster and maybe he can really help.
And he speaks german= )
thank you i will send him my problem
Any solution
Hi. I kind of found myself in the same situation. My acer s200 is unresponsive, no blinking lights no matter key/reset combinations. Had been in the middle of flashing on a new ROM when it got accidentally disconnected.
Any possible solution? Already checked the battery out in a different phone and it's fine and charged.
Hey,
i don't want to looks like a vultur, but if some of you can't find a solution to resolve the problem you have, I'm interested by the device because I need some piece. Of course I hope you can resolve your problem but if there are no led blinking, the last possibility is to send it to acer, and if you don't want to wait/pay/or whatever to with the acer support, I'm interested by your device.
Arto
Vulture indeed!! I'm need of help man.
you still need help?????
Hey GarcoG. Yes, still in need of help. My S200 is currently a desktop paperweight at home. It's a beautiful paperweight but it was made for so much more. Would really like to get it up and running again.
A new thing I noticed. I'm able to charge my phone's battery to full on my friend's s200. Of course when I put it back into my phone, it's still completely unresposive. However, I noticed that whenever I put it back into my friend's phone, the charge on it has reduced. I'm pretty sure it's not a battery issue I have since my phone is still unresponsive with my friend's battery in it and the same happens with that battery as well.
Would really appreciate any ideas on fixing this.
Hi, count me in. I just jumped on your wagon.. will try to disassemble this beauty soon before I officially demote it to a shiny paperweight.. well it's not that shiny, i put on a matte screen protector on it
Really funny about that matte screen protector. Cannot wait for the results. In my case, phone got accidentally connected just as it had reached the stage of flashing on the new ROM. Was thinking it was probably unresponsive because the ROM instructions that enable it respond to key combinations are absent hence cant get it into Bootloader mode.
@ incognito_tkd: Any luck with the disassembly? Would like to know your findings.
I have same problem... same situation
But... when I connect my USB charger, it shows red LED on... as if the charging is ON. But no reaction
Any one help please
there is no possibility to repair the phone... you have to send it to acer !!
i got my phone 1month after i´ve send it
Hello folks.
So I left my A1 charging at night, the alarm woke me up as usual in the morning. Just before leaving home I took it to check the time and then it was already "dead".
PS: The phone was never been knocked over, wet etc...
Symptoms:
- Black screen, as if was turned off / without battery;
- Buttons do not work;
- Doesn't react to any connections.
- Doesn't enters fastboot mod;
- It's not recognized by the computer;
- Also not charging.
Any help is welcome, best regards.
happened to me the other day on AEX, after flashing a kernel, turns out it does switch on but I had to press the power button for quite some time and then it switched off again upon minutes from switching on. I entered the recovery with the same method and installed another kernel, it works fine now

So, let me get this right, in ur case the phone was still working, u just had tu push the butoms for a little more time?
I tryed it here, power/Power + Vol Down/ Power + Vol Up/ Power + both vol down and up, all of them for more than a minute, nothing happened, not even a single vibration, sound or light. =[

Damn =[
It's a possibility, but it's strange the phone has like 4 months of use, never had any problem.
I'm willing to try some stuff first, even open the phone to unplug and replug the battery on the mb.
Otherwise at my country (Brazil) Xiaomi has no warranty
I had this problem and it was just due to an loose flex cable. Try opening and reattaching them :good:

No problem, just two screws att the bortom and use the nails around the edge. Be careful not to break the plastic frame around the screen, it can be quite weak.

So yesterday a oppened the phone, disatached the flats and atatched then again, unfortunatelly didn't help =[.
We also made some tests and seems like it could be an issue with the battery seems like it's not charging nor receiving any charge.
Seems like the "regulator" of the battery or something like that is not working as it should.
I'm gonna try to test this a in a more acurate way, at least to be sure that it's the battery.
Probably on EDL mode. Try reflashing stock with MiFlash. Helped me once.

You can try make edl usb cable first, if not work then search mi a1 test point, you'll need to jump 2 point on motherboard with wire/pin.

The phone will power on without any battery attached at all, so remove it and see if you get life. If not, then it's not the battery.

So yesterday i tryed to make the phone enter at the EDL mode, by jumping the 2 points on the motherboard. Unfortunately the computer didn't recognized the phone at all, i'v tryed several times.
I'm starting to think that something related to the the motherboard just died.
I'll lend it to a tecnical that can fix it or at least confirm the death of the phone to me.

Just tested it yesterday, without success.
Even with the battery disconnected and ubs at computer or charger, the phone still not giving any signal of life.
Does it mean that it must be a serious problem?

Hello mate.
I'm sry for you phone, at my case i'm starting to believe that the mb/cpu died.
I was thinking that it could be the board at the bottom (ubs, mic jac) but i have been told that it's really rare this to happen.
Yesterday i tested the battery and it's fully charged, (so the battery isn't the problem)
I'm weeling to take it at the end of the week into a tec who can test all the hardware stuff in order to know what actually have failed.
Have u also tryed to engage ur phone at EDL Mode?

Hi.
Yep also tried shorting the test points, it does not respond to anything. Just totally dead.
Its sad cause i really loved that phone. I might buy a used cheap one with a broken screen and use its main board or other parts.
Thanks Knievel
