I'm able to successfully pair my hw6945 with a Yada YD-V22 visor speakerphone via bluetooth, however, when I try to connect to the BT device I get a "connection failed" error message. I've tried soft reset and unchecking encryption; still fails to connect. The device pairs and connects successfully with an HTC Touch Diamond running WM 6. Any suggestions?
HP iPAQ hw6945 running Windows Mobile 5.0 OS 5.1.195 (Build 14989.2.6.0)
13.66MB free storage memory; 20.20MB free program memory
Over 100 views and no replies.
I've tried re-installing the BIOS and updating to the latest drivers and still the device pairs successfully via Bluetooth but fails to connect.
What else can I try? Help, please!

Hello everybody,
I have a problem with ActiveSync : each time i put my phone (qtek 2020) on the craddle, it says "synchronisation error". A few weeks ago everything worked fine.
I use an USB connection, an tried it on other computers in my office: still the same error.
Made some "hard reset", downloaded and installed the latest ROM and software version (Windows Mobile 2003 SE 4.21.1088 - ROM 2.06.00WWE - Radio 1.18.00). Nothing works. I notice that my computer can browse the files on the PPC, so in fact the connexion works! Could it be a problem with Windows XP SP 2 ? I deactivated the firewall but no better results...
If anyone knows...
Cheers,
Pierre
just reinstall activesync that worked with me
You might get an error if the boxes are checked for synching contacts/appointments etc and you dont have Outlook installed on the pc. Try unchecking all the boxes and see if the error disappears.

use the activesync ver3.8
I have had this problem;
I previously successfully connected to my work PC with activesync 4.0 over bluetooth & my XDA II running WM2003, now having upgraded to WM2005 I am unable to re-establish an activesync connection via Bluetooth.
The PC is running XP SP1 with a TDK Bluetooth dongle & it's associated drivers (This is known to be setup correctly with other bluetooth connectivity having no problems)
I have tried using the "Geekzone" activesync over bluetooth step through, but I believe this is written for earlier versions of both activesync & Windows Mobile OS.
Would somebody who has successfully achieved an activesync connection via bluetooth post how to set up thanks.
ROM 1.60b.96WWE
Radio 1.17.00
Protocol 1337.28
I bought myself a a qtek S100 a few weeks ago and it's been working fine up until today
Today I sended a file via Bt from my Nokia smart phone to the Qtek so that I could dowload it to the computer faster via USB cable. The file was 764k real player video. Anyway after the transfer ended the Qtek started acting funny...is started by geting slow and slower and slower ... the cable was already pluged and the connection set so I tryed to acess it via PC...no sucess.
I unpluged and did a reset, thought that would solve the problem...
When I tryed to sync after the reset it showed an error message on the PC saying "Critical Communications Services have failed to start. Try reseting the mobile device and start again" Well I did...and also dowloaded MS Active Sync 3.8 and instaled it again.
The outcome was still the same...."Critical Communications Services have failed to start. Try reseting the mobile device and start again"
Anyone ever experienced this? How can I solve this?
Eheheh go easy on me kinda noobish here
Rom version:1.12.00 WWE
Rom Date 05/28/005
Radio Version 1.13.00
Protocol version 1337.43
ExtRom Version: 1.12.135 WWE
Mem Card King Max RSMMC 256
Thxs
Here's the follow up just in case anyone will have the same problem...
As it turns out the problem wasn't in the Pocket Pc...although the error message in windows (Pc) asked for a reset of the PP, the problem was actually in PC. It seems that somehow the Antivirus (Bitdefender with integrated firewall) started detecting the usb cable connection with the PDA as an internet connection, and althought I had authorised it the High level of security imposed by the Firewll and it's rules on the Pc enabled the connection but disabled any kind of exchange between the computer and the PDA. Well to put it plain and simple...active sync would start and everything went smoothly up until trying to open the pocket PC for file browsing...then the antivirus would kick in and wouldn't allow data tranfer as it would consider it harmfull for the computer...hence the error message.
ehehe Problem solved ...hope this helps the next one that has the same prob.
I am having a problem with Activesync 3.8.
It tells me my device (MDA Compact) is connected, but when I try to explore it I get the following message!
"Critical communication services have failed to start. Try resetting the mobile device, and then connect again."
I have tied to remove it and re-load it.
Any relevant help would be most useful
I am having the same problem.
I tried using ActiveSync 4.1 recently, only to find it can only be used with the new Windows Mobile 5.0. I uninstalled it and reinstalled 3.8. Ever since then I have had this issue. I've tried removing it again, rebooting, then reinstalling. I've tried downloading a fresh copy of 3.8 in case it was corrupt... All to no avail. I can't even open ActiveSync properly. It appears in teh task bar and can connect to devices, but it will not sync, and I can't browse teh device.

Activesync 4.1 is not just for WM5, I am running 4.1 on my Jam with WM2003SE and it works like a charm.
I recently upgraded my laptop from Vista Home Premium to Business and now my M700 (flashed with Bepe's WM6 Rom) will not sync with it. It will connect via bluetooth or USB however upon connection the laptop tries to install a device driver, fails and then gives the message:
"The class installer has denied the request to install or upgrade this device"
I am pretty much without a clue as to how to solve this issue so any help would be appreciated.
Ta.
any ideas... anyone?
i had a problem like this
was my fire wall, had to turn it off
