hey guys,
is there any link where I can download the original telus rom, I tried searching forums but didnt find any links or thread. So, if anyone know how to get back to telus rom please tell
thanks.
It's not possible at the moment. Telus hasn't put out any updates to the Hero yet. Sit tight, I'm sure once HTC puts out the Eclair update, Telus will release shortly aftewards. The original Telus ROM hasn't been customized at all though, other than the Telus APN settings, so I can't see a reason why the Telus-specific ROM would be required, unless it's for warranty reasons.
Hey craig0r, just a few questions. Seems there are few Telus users rooting so its kinda hard to find a "Telus" point of view. How is MoDaCo 3.1? Are you experiecing any issues? Since we cannot go back to Telus ROM, do you have any regrets rooting or installing MoDaCo? Thanks for your input!!

The HTC Music app gets choppy through, when played through A2DP bluetooth. I think I had that problem before I rooted, but I don't remember. It's fine through headphones. That kinda sucks. I really hope it's fixed in eclair. My Vogue with WM 6.5 had no issues like this.
Other than that, I have no complaints at all, it's pretty great. I only had my phone for one day before I rooted it, mind you, so I can't really compare it to the stock ROM's experience.
Haven't seen anyone one post about this topic.. but.. this is regarding the TMOUS Version that was just released a couple days ago...
Do the new users of that phone have to download these fixes? i ask because, i'm assuming that since they had some extra time for our version of the release.. that they would already implement these hot fixes into the phone.. anyone??
i also haven't seen/read any TMOUS user talking about these hotfixes nor the issues.. so perhaps maybe its something i should just ignore?
Fixes?
If you have problems, check it out, If it's not broke? Why do anything?
Hi guys just a thread for those in the UK, preferbly on Orange. Not sure if its just coincidental but my phone has gone V slow down and uploading. I mean like 0.10mb when I usually get an easy 2mb download. I've tried:
Different radios = same speed
Different build.props = same speed
only thing that I havent tried is going back to CM since last time i nandroid my froyo it didnt restore properly and i had to start again. Looking at the Build.prop from froyo it has som mentions of test. not sure if this means it is an actual 'test' release like many are hoping for.
thanks
I'm having the same issue. 2G works slightly better, but I will have moments where it seems ok, then it just slows right down. Never happened before the upgrade.
Any idea if applying the 2.1 update again would revert it correctly?

exactly what i was thinking. how about you revert and let me know haha i tried once and my nandroid didnt restore my froyo backup. Gave me an error for some reason so im not wanting to revert. Just wondering if its Orange UK's problem.....
I guess we can't really call HTC and ask them yet, or have people in the UK received this OTA yet? Orange won't have a clue either.

well without mentioning to them about android or anything just seeing if there 3G systems are up and running fine. But i guess time will tell.
just wanted to see whether anyone on orange in the UK is getting decent speeds regardless of Froyo or not
Orange just told me they've had a few reports today, but no known issues. "Switch to 2G and it's just as fast" is their answer.
How is the latest HTC update incorporated into ROMs, specifically non-Sense based ROMs ? I think with Sense-based ones, it's somewhat easier, but for Cyanogen-based ones, I'm completely clueless.
Main reason I ask is because of the silent-call issue. It's supposedly fixed with this update (I don't know for sure though) and it would be real nice to have it incorporated into the CM ROMs. I was hoping that running a CM ROM would avoid this issue, but alas, it doesn't.

i have yet to have any silent call at all on any rom i have ever flashed
When I was running Sense-based ROMs, it was getting to the point that I was ready to return my phone to VZW. When I switched to CM5 ROMs, it was much improved, but still happened on occasion.

wish i could offer advice but ive yet to experience it
I'm beginning to think that the silent issue is user error. Maybe a setting or am app that some people use or something. I have never had the issue and I have tested just about every rom.
Sorry off topic.
Sent from my KaosFroyoEris
Speculation is that the new radio may be the "silent call" bugfix. Flash that & see if it helps.

That "new" radio has been available from Sprint for more than a few weeks, if not longer, and I can personally attest that it does NOT fix the issue.
i have noticed this issue with my gfs phone. when she answers her phone no one can hear her. shes had this problem on several different roms. i however haven't on any...
I can confirm that the latest fix pushed from VZN has fixed the no-audio bug on my wife's Eris. She was rebooting multiple times a day, and has not since the update!
The real question is can I safely root and load EvilEris 3.0 now without losing the fix??

I think the answer to that is "no".

Too many people have changed the same setting or added the same app then.... And if that many people have done the same thing "wrong", it still warrants a fix from VZW or HTC.
Havent had the problem with PlainJane2.0, will report if I do though
I've been running non-Sense ROMs since I rooted and haven't had the silent bug yet. I had it a few times after the 2.1 OTA, but nothing since running White Widow 4.5 and now CELB 2.8... hopefully it stays that way

If you're like me, you just jinxed yourself. I said the same thing -- had the same experience -- for a good while after switching to CM-based ROMs. I posted this and bam ! Started experiencing it again...

I can confirm this. The EvilEris 3.0 ROM does not include this bug fix and the bug is still present. The bug ceased for me until I rooted my phone and installed the EvilEris 3.0 ROM.
No one ? The original question still has me wondering....

I have been experimenting with the files from the MR4 update in a few ROMs that I have built but I still can not seem to get them to "take". I am not sure if the update is in build.prop or one of the other files included in MR4. I am still looking for any good documentation on how to cook the update in to my ROMs.
There are folks who know how to do it, but I don't know if it's documented anywhere.
Every rom i have used that was made without the July patch has done the glitch. Now that im on a rom with the patch i havent had an issue. Sucks cause i was loving Sense-able, but im getting use to Xtr

I know Sense-Able is Sense-based, but is XTR ? If a ROM is not Sense-based or if it's ported from another (HTC) phone without the issue, and therefore no patch has been made, I wonder if it can be incorporated.
I understand some countries have got it. Anyone have feed back on whether they are having the memory leak issue?

Perhaps your question would be better served in the other Galaxy S5 for All S5's and International Versions as this one is Verizon specific.
