hi guys, i've got an issue with my bluetooth in that i can't receive files, i've tried from 2 different computers and a phone with no success. my windows box gives me an obex error code 0x49 if thats any help to anyone. i've got accept transfers ticked and the devices are paired. i can send files from the phone fine so the bluetooth is defiantly working.
Turn beam on.
Receive all incoming beams.
could you clarify a bit? i've got accept all connections turned on and don't see any beam options in the bluetooth app?
In sense settings, go to all settings. (Right softkey).
Open the bluetooth settings and open the 1st tab.
Expand the advanced settings.
Open the file transfer config and click allow "incoming file transfer connections"
I've not tested it though
I reconfigured the comm manager to run this app, called BtManager.exe. More useful than the wizard it normally runs.
i've already done all that, everything is enabled in the bluetooth settings app i just can't receive files, as i said before i can send to devices and connect via a2dp so i don't think it's a hardware issue so there must be a software problem somewhere?

same here, any one experienced it and solved the problem?
Long time no reply on this thread. I fixed the problem for my HD2. Maybe it help poeple to fix their receive files for their HD2 too.
In bluetooth advanced settings go to file transfer and uncheck safe files on your sd card, instead set the path to your sd card for receiving files. Click finish and test.
Thanks Guido, that worked for me!

I have just got a new XDA2S and can't get bluetooth to work with other phones.
On XDA2 you could click on file and beam it. Via IR or bluetooth.
I can recive files on bluetooth but not send them.
Think it might be to do with not finding other services on other devices.
Can anyone help or know settings to change.
Not sure if it just the settings;
Authorization required.
Authorization (passkey) required.
Encryption required
and also what services this need to be enabled on.
If anyone has been able to send files to another phone can you please list your settings.
Thanks
Tim
Tim,
I received my XDA2s yesterday. My 15yr old son tested bluetooth by transferring a 4Mb song from my XDA2s storage card onto his Samsung phone via bluetooth without any problems. It took just a couple of minutes.
We had to tick "Allow other devices to connect" (All devices) and "Other devices can discover me" on the Accessibility tab of the Bluetooth settings screens. We also had to provide the same 4 digit code to both devices.
On the Services tab, the settings;
Authorization required.
Authorization (passkey) required.
Encryption required
are all unticked on my device.
Phil
Thanks

I've tried to make the reg-hack to activate file reception through bluetooth with OBEX but when I make the soft reset after ther registry mod, the key is again 0 (1 is enable).
Is it possible to activate the receive file profile in TyTN?
hi, I don't know if you are experiencing exactly the same problem as me or if yours is a slightly different issue, however I couldn't receive any files via bluetooth on my brand new Vario II. I could send, but I couldn't receive.
I opened up com2 as a new incoming port on my bluetooth settings and voila - suddenly it worked.
Don't ask me why!
Thank you MrLeoni for your reply.
I've done what you suggest but I still can't receive files through bluetooth.
I think that this is a basic feature in a PocketPC.
Any idea?

did you try to check: start -> settings -> connections tab -> beam -> receive all incoming beams ?
worked with me, i don't need to do any reghack to receive files via BT.
Thank you very much eva_d.
Your suggestion works fine. The problem was that "receive all incoming beams" was disabled.
I used to disable this because I thought that when this is enabled, infrared receiver is working and wasting battery, so I used to disable.
After set this option, I've revised the reg-hack about OBEX and I've seen that is 1 (enabled), so the conclusion is that disabling "receive all incoming beams", OBEX is disabled.
Thank again to everyone who has help me. Problem solved.
Hi, Could anyone help me the following problem.
I can't recieve through bluetooth from PC and others bluetooth phone. I full reset the phone as back to default setting. I try to pair and connect with PC, and I can sent one or multiple files from PC to Atom and it work well. After which, i install the application software, I try senting file again from PC again, and it prompt me "TP service not found on target device". Does anyone have this problem?
Thanks
start > settings > connections tab > beam > select the check box and try now..
Hi Appu, Thank you for your help. It's work now but occasionally i still need to soft reset to re-pairing again to get connected.
Hi Folks,
I'm running Hemi's AKU3.5 at the moment, (great), but I'm having trouble with bluetooth file transfers.
A mate keeps tring to send me dodgy video clips via b/tooth but I never recive. He can send successfully to other devices, just not me.
Bluetooth is on and visable.
Any idea what I need to do????
TIA
Mav

Come one folkes, some one must have an insight into this. I have never had this sort of problem with other devices b4. Swapping files via bluetooth is usually easy.
TIA

Well if that is checked you should be fine really. Hmm well if you don't have a pair with the other device it should pop up asking you if you want to receive the file, if you don't answer within a few, the transfer will time out and your friend will get an error. You need to be a little more specific as to what "doesn't work" means. Is there an error? Are you getting a prompt? Have you tried pairing?

Thanks for the help.
BT is turned on and Discoverable. Recieve all incoming Beams is Ticked. The devices are paired. Mates phone starts send but is unable to connect to my device.
I soft reset earlier, and checked all the settings. Re-paired the devices and was able to recieve the 6 files he sent me, but the next time he tries to send anything, his phone is unable to connect to mine. Its almost like the BT stack corrupts after a data transfer.
He tried to send me a file just now, couldn't connect.
I have just tried another Soft rest and now I can recieve the files.
Very odd.

are you sure OBEX is enabled??
if you're not sure, search for the 'enable OBEX' over the forum cab and install.

I can pair with my mac, but cannot send files. Does anyone have any links or explanation of how to exchange with 6800 and mac?
Thanks,
It can only do it through activesync or windows mobile center. I'm not sure if the missing sync will explore the device and transfer files, but it might since it syncs over BT. check it out. http://www.markspace.com/missingsync_palmos.php
At my work we have IMAC's and when i send a file to them I dont even need to pair to the computer. That is if i disable authentication (KEY). When i send something to the computer a prompt screen pops up on the screen asking if i want to download and save the file.
No issues here.

How do you disable authentication?
Can you send from IMac to phone?
I have the 24" imac and I would love to have some connectivity. I cannot connect to our work server for file sharing due to firewall issues. I have broadband but no networking at work, only at home.

Under the Apple tab at your top left hand side there is a submenu in it.
Under System Preferences go to Hardware -- bluetooth-- and once in go to the sharing tab and all the information you would need is there. From enabling file sharing, making your computer visible, allowing sync with your PDA and so on.
Since I've been trying to transfer files between my Mogul and iMac (and failing miserably for quite a while), I thought I'd share what I found -
Problem - Transferring from iMac to Mogul worked fine. Transferring from Mogul to iMac resulted in "Fail" almost immediately. Tried deleting the bluetooth pairing, re-pairing and tried other programs to assist the bluetooth without luck.
Finally looked at the "Help" section of "Bluetooth File Exchange" on the iMac (running OSX 10.5.2) - and discovered I didn't have file sharing via bluetooth turned on! What a knucklehead...
In System Preferences, under "Internet and Network", select "Sharing." All I had to do was check the box to turn on the "Bluetooth Sharing" service, and transfers both way between my iMac and Mogul are working fine.
Hope that helps someone!
Cheers, --TonyKovac
