recieving b/tooh files - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro General

Hi Folks,
I'm running Hemi's AKU3.5 at the moment, (great), but I'm having trouble with bluetooth file transfers.
A mate keeps tring to send me dodgy video clips via b/tooth but I never recive. He can send successfully to other devices, just not me.
Bluetooth is on and visable.
Any idea what I need to do????

Come one folkes, some one must have an insight into this. I have never had this sort of problem with other devices b4. Swapping files via bluetooth is usually easy.
TIA

Well if that is checked you should be fine really. Hmm well if you don't have a pair with the other device it should pop up asking you if you want to receive the file, if you don't answer within a few, the transfer will time out and your friend will get an error. You need to be a little more specific as to what "doesn't work" means. Is there an error? Are you getting a prompt? Have you tried pairing?

Thanks for the help.
BT is turned on and Discoverable. Recieve all incoming Beams is Ticked. The devices are paired. Mates phone starts send but is unable to connect to my device.
I soft reset earlier, and checked all the settings. Re-paired the devices and was able to recieve the 6 files he sent me, but the next time he tries to send anything, his phone is unable to connect to mine. Its almost like the BT stack corrupts after a data transfer.
He tried to send me a file just now, couldn't connect.
I have just tried another Soft rest and now I can recieve the files.
Very odd.

are you sure OBEX is enabled??
if you're not sure, search for the 'enable OBEX' over the forum cab and install.

How to use GPRS Internet on Laptop

How can you use GPRS Internet from your O2 Exec/JASJAR on Laptop/Desktop computer?
I am guessing there should be a way through the wireless modem. Any ideas guys?
Activate the wireless modem, install the device as a modem on the computer.
Dial *99# with the computer..
Hi all
I just avtivated by wireless modem through similarly named app on Exec.
Then on laptop dialed *99# and all was looking well until Win XP laptop said registering computer on the network.
Then error message on Laptop said device wasn't functioning.
Whilst it was trying though the coloured lights on the wireless modem(exec) app were flashing away like merry.
That was entertaining enough but any clues as to where I'm going wrong?
Using a bluetooth dongle with IVT soleil on laptop.
Which works for activesync and headset.
Have stopped activesync on exec in order to get this far.
Phil
You have to install USB modem drivers for your Exec on your XP desktop. I don't know if the modem will work through bluetooth. I use USBmodem drivers with my Vario and it works perfectly. I don't know if you need to use different drivers for your Exec, but I will attach the ones that work with the Vario.

Try a soft reset (that worked setting up a mate's Universal with the same error), sounds like you have the modem installed and everything else set up.
Btw when his couldn't connect with that error, it couldnt connect to the network when not functioning as a modem anyway.
thank you for the modem driver for Universal! I really looking for it
this is about the best walkthrough i have ever read. so Koksie thanks if you wrote this....
anybody got any ideas when this error comes up when i go to start "4- Then in Programs, click on "Wireless Modem". With the Connection type on USB, click on "Start". " and i click start thie error "ERROR .... COME OPEN ERROR"
any ideas what that means?!
Jay
I did not write it myself, just found it and passed it on because it worked perfectly for me. I have no idea why it gives the error you mention. I think the walk through was found on this forum, perhaps try to find the thread and ask the question there? The person who posted this originally might perhaps know the answer. good luck!
I've tried this loads of times all I get is a COM OPEN ERROR on the XDA.. it did work once briefly then wont work again..

I had the same problem. In bluetooth settings delete all the outgoings port that you created. In my case it was port 8 for gprs....Now works¡¡
well thanks for the help.. lol although that doesn't sound to promising maybe i will take it back to o2?
arhh just saw dherrero's reply i may try thatl
jay
hey hey! great thanks for that works brillantly. now i just need to test my tomtom to see if he can stil connect to my GPS device:
Update
Koksie and Kevino most helpful.
I gave up on Bluetooth and got me USB cable out.
The USB modem connects and works well now.
I am not sure the "receive all incoming beams" tick is neccessary?
For O2 customers I found this which was quite useful for the USB Modem Connections settings on the Laptop/PC.
http://flash.o2.co.uk/productsservices/mobileweb/pdfs/Windows manual set up instructions.pdf
BTW I can connect for my emails but have to setup a new Email Account in Outlook to send using the O2 smtp server (smtp.o2.co.uk).
However I still can not get Internet Explorer to be able to browse on this GPRS connection, any ideas?

Well m8...as you bring this up...
If anyone can shed some light on this it would be great.
It seems to me tat this problem is only with o2 :?
I have also tried in the passed to make phones work with laptops an tomtom go's etc for the gprs connection usage and had no joy.... at first i thought it was the phones...tested with Nokias 6310i, 6230, 6230i, SE t630, w800, w900i, etc all running the latest firmware and 02 active settings and always connection errors.
In the meantime ALL the other networks like voda, t-mobile, orange etc work like a charm on the same setups.

Bluetooth Connection Always Fails When Receiving Files

Hi All
When anybody trys to send me a file through bluetooth on my wizard they get a connection failed message, IR still works though.
THis happend to anyone else, fixes?
THanks
i get this too not sure on a fix tho sorry
I think I know the answer to this problem
Go to Start>Settings>Connections>Beam and tick Receive all incomming beams.
This happened to me for ages but as soon as I did the above I could receive files through bluetooth.
Seems strange that it is called "Beams" as this would indicate IR to me.
Hope this gets you sorted
Wow, you are the man!
I thought i would save some battery and turn that off lol.
Glad to have helped.

Bluetooth File Transfer

I have a quick question. My coworker and I both have a wing. He was trying to send a file to me over bluetooth. We went through the entire process but when it says sending nothing shows up on my screen and his just sits there saying sending. We are going through file explorer and we cannot figure out how to get it to transfer. Any ideas or better program to use?
Something should be showing, but other than that, make sure you both have OBEX turned on.
Ya that's weird that nothing is hapenning, make sure u can see each others wing once bluetooth is turned on

Newby to X1

Got mine today. Problems so far....
Did the same old trick with a new phone - copied contacts to sim, insert Sim in X1 and then copy them to 'contacts;. I now have duplicate names. How do I delete the SIM copy, OR just use the Phone copy. I am a Nokia girl and am struggling big time to find out how you can chose between the two.
Secondly, I have a TOMTOM 700 go. Tried to pair them tonight. Got a DUN incompatible message from TOMTOM for Traffic etc. HELP. How can I get them to talk to each other so I can use my paid for subscriptions.
Thirdly, I have a VISEOo blue tooth gizmo in my car. Is this going to work with the X1. There are all sorts of connectivity and I'm not sure which to chose.
guess i can help with the first one, install the XperiaTweak v1.6 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=440035
Main>disable Show SIM-contacts in contact list
Done
have you tried the internet sharing program? Are you trying to pair the 700 through bluetooth?
there's also some apps around, some free some paid that enable a win mobile device to act as a wifi router if that's any use.

Yes I am trying to pair the 700 Go with bluetooth. How can I get round this - not sure how to enable the X1 as a wifi router? Not terribly technical!

I deleted my successful connection, that wouldn't allow me to use the Plus services to try and replicate what goes on.
I go to Manage Phones on the Tomtom. It searches and finds the phone finds the phone. The phone then tells me that TOMTOM wants to connect to my phone & asks me to add it to my device list. It then asks for the 0000 code which I input - I normally have to repeat this a few times at 40%. Finally got there to get this message on the TOMTOM
"This phone does not report wireless data connection (DUN) capabilities. TomTom Plus services cannot be used with this phone"
On my TomTOm now it says that all plus services 'are not supported'
Help!

bluetooth issue

hi guys, i've got an issue with my bluetooth in that i can't receive files, i've tried from 2 different computers and a phone with no success. my windows box gives me an obex error code 0x49 if thats any help to anyone. i've got accept transfers ticked and the devices are paired. i can send files from the phone fine so the bluetooth is defiantly working.
Turn beam on.
Receive all incoming beams.
could you clarify a bit? i've got accept all connections turned on and don't see any beam options in the bluetooth app?
In sense settings, go to all settings. (Right softkey).
Open the bluetooth settings and open the 1st tab.
Expand the advanced settings.
Open the file transfer config and click allow "incoming file transfer connections"
I've not tested it though
I reconfigured the comm manager to run this app, called BtManager.exe. More useful than the wizard it normally runs.
i've already done all that, everything is enabled in the bluetooth settings app i just can't receive files, as i said before i can send to devices and connect via a2dp so i don't think it's a hardware issue so there must be a software problem somewhere?

same here, any one experienced it and solved the problem?
Long time no reply on this thread. I fixed the problem for my HD2. Maybe it help poeple to fix their receive files for their HD2 too.
In bluetooth advanced settings go to file transfer and uncheck safe files on your sd card, instead set the path to your sd card for receiving files. Click finish and test.
Thanks Guido, that worked for me!
