and i also added the swapresolution and astray.
If there is any info you need tell me.
While writing the touchscreen driver for FreeBSD i managed to get the controller hanging somehow and it only worked in WinMo until i pulled the battery from the shift to 'reset' it.
I'm trying hard to get reproduce this problem again to try and find a software way to fix it.
You may wanna try this one.. chance is you got the same problem i had.

my touchscreen wasnt workin so i did a hard reset to see if it would work but it didnt, now i cant get into the phone cause of the align screen is there any way i can skip that??? cause i cant use my phone
nope.. ur stuck.. try going into bootloader mode and reloading the official rom and see if it fixes it... if not u might need to disassmble it and see if any ribbons have been jigged loose
Take the battery out, leave it overnight, and tomorrow your screen might work (for a bit of time though), that'll help get through the alignment setup.
I had the same problem, even though the touch screen didn't work, all the buttons used to work well.
I have a video about the problem with my 8525, so I can backup my story in case ATT says it was a user error.
Thank you for your replies and suggestions of things for the OP to try.
If there are continuing problems on this issue, please use one of the existing Touch Screen problem threads. We now have quite a few so let's not create yet another one.

Hi, I have a problem with my Cingular 8125. See my touch sreen is not working and I just flashed my phone. Now I am at the part where it tells me to "Tap the screen to set your Windows Mobile based device." Since my touch sreen is not working, I can not touch it, well I did but it does not work. Is there any other way I can by pass this? Any help is really apprecited, thanks in advance.
why not install wm6 standard rom without (touch screen)
If can provide the link, I would really apprecite it and also I tried flashing the ROM with WM6 but I have Vista. I followed all the steps in how to update ROM with Vista but it doesn't work. Everytime I try to flash the phone, it says "ROMUpdateUtility MFC Application has stopped working" and I can not seem to find any solutions .
PLEASE NOTE!!! SMARTPHONE(Non touchscreen) AND POCKET PC ROMS ARE TWO DIFFERENT THINGS! YOU CANNOT FLASH A SMARTPHONE ROM TO A POCKET PC!
I tried flashing the Cingular 8125 with a WM6 ROM, and that doesn't work. I couldn't find any ROM that has the touch sreen disabled . Is there a WM6 for Cingular 8125 that has the touch sreen disabled? If anyone could help me, I would really apprecite it.
- Thank You...

If your touch screen doesn't work I don't know how much use the phone will be for you but to get past the spot your in at this stage of your install you can always use a freeware called my mobiler at mymobiler dot com or pocket controller pro from any of the usual places.
Than you for the software information, it really helped but I'm still stuck, I am at the "align screen" part, I keep tapping the target but never works.. .
I just posted this on another forum and then I read this posting. Based on what I read here, the MDA is totally hosed if you cannot use the touch screen?
Well my MDA Touch Screen has finally quit working. My MDA is almost 2 years old. Now I have a problem using the MDA since I am so use to using the Touch Screen. Has anyone tried to use the MDA without the touch screen?
If so, how did you setup your MDA? I cannot even get to the various button menu to reset all my buttons. I have been using SPB PocketPlus, SPB Diary, etc., and now I am at a loss to even get to the Menu Screen. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thank you in advance.
All I can say is that you can try to change the touch screen or call T-Mobile or HTC to see if they will replace it for you. I just ordered a new touch screen I found on eBay and am waiting until it comes so I can replace it and see what happens. If you are having software problems, I am not sure what problems you are having, you can try to re-flash the MDA with the newest MDA ROM or a ROM on this site...
Hope it helps
I had the exact same problem you had, and I finally came across a solution on a different site.
All you need to do to bypass this is connect your phone to your pc (usb activesync) and browse the contents on your wizard and delete \\\Windows\StartUp\Welcome.ink . Then soft reset your phone and you are past the screen calibration part and continuing the installation

Can you tell me how to find this file? I've connected my 8125 to my PC, but did a search for the file and it's not found. If I can bypass the screen it would at least be able to be used. I appreciate your help. Also, using My Mobilier doesn't work if you can't tap the screen as I tried it.
Here's what happened so far:
For some reason while changing resolutions, the touch screen lost calibration so that it bacame unusable. Tried to recalibrate, but the calibration program didn't even start. Tried restarting Vista. Nothing.
So, I thought I'd unistall the HID and scan for new hardware, but no luck; Vista doesn't find such hardware even under restart. Legacy hardware doesn't help, either.
Any hints? Using a device such as Shift without touch screen is pretty dumb...
start windows in safe mode, then look at c:\windows\ntbtlog.txt
For the touchscreen to work, you must see:
Loaded driver \SystemRoot\system32\DRIVERS\ecdrv.sys
Loaded driver \SystemRoot\system32\DRIVERS\htcpen.sys
If any of those two is missing, the touchscreen will not work.... try to restore them if you want to keep your existing installation or reinstall your vista using Fn+F3.
Thanks, pof!
I guess it's time for F3 again. It's a damn shame if a clever device such as this cannot be trusted to run for more than a week between reinstalls
I am a Noob , and do not know much about the expert stuff most of you guys write about. Please help me solve a problem which I am having with my T-Mobile USA HD2 which I am using in Qatar.
It used to work well without any problem until yesterday when I was trying to load some of my old software (calligrapher, bridge, chess etc which I had purchased for iPaq a fewyears back). The bridge and chess worked fine, but after loading the old version of calligrapher, the screen froze. Soft reset 'red' button did not work, so I did a hard reset using volume control+power button and reloaded earlier software except calligrapher. The phone has started working again, but I started frequently getting an error message stating that "there is a problem with DocumentParser.exe" .The HD2 tries to connect to the Microsoft server, but then the screen freezes. I have to remove the battery and restart, but the suddenly when I am in the middle of something, the screen freezes again. There is a 593kB "DocumentParser.exe" file in the Windows folder of the phone. Will the problem go away if I replace this with another (maybe non-corrupt) file? I did a google search, but could not find the file on the net.
Can anybody please help with finding the file, or maybe suggest another solution?
Your advise will be greatly welcome.
Thanks and Regards
I do have HTC Touch with Windows OS 6.1. My Touch screen is not behaving perfectly. It is getting disabled and not allowing to do any thing there. Some time it starts working but touch event is not performing action at right location. Please let me know how to resolve it. Because of this it is not Syncing with My Laptop. Also let me know how can i backup my SMS and Phone book from my cell and restore then after.
You can use My Mobiler to control your device from laptop but only if ActiveSync is connected. If not, backup to your SdCard with Pim Backup, then try a hard reset to see if you have a better touch response. It's also possible your digitizer is faulty and has to be replaced.
It should most probably be a digitizer problem. I have changed them myself twice.

i guess its already been solved, but i had the same problem a few weeks ago.
actually the lower half of the screen worked well, anything upper was made its action on the bottom area, so it was hard to tap on anything but i could navigate to the calibration menu somehow - i thought that would make it work, coz i knwe at first that it must be a software problem besides a hardware thing.. so the calibration didnt worked ive made a hard reset and everything is working just like before.
i hope it can help to others..
