Hello,
I've got a problem with the display of my brandnew Trinity. Where a pure black area should be displayed, the screen shows a black area which includes many little colored pixel (always the same) that doesn't switch off. With a black background setted, it looks like the milkyway, just with color. I couldn't say if this is a software or a hardware issue, because I have flashed some different ROMs before I recognized these bugs. After flashing back to the latest HTC release the output stays the same. I think the display is broken.
Are there any people with the same problem, or somebody with a solution?
I'm also looking for the original A1 ROM (including QuickGPS), if somebody has.
Greetings

My Cingular 8525 is having screens issues that I thought I'd post to the community if anyone has seen this.
The normal screen will go to all white under thermal conditions it appears. Thermal being inside a hot car, in my holster against my hip, gripping in my hand, heavy use with BT or wifi... thus I suspect thermal. I've changed battery's, no change. If it has changed to all white screen, a soft reset will not revert the screen back. The pda appears to have to "cool" off before screen will recover.
Could this be a LCD driver chip dieing? The screen itself? Worth repairing? Got my eye on the AT&T Fuze but wanted to keep the 8525 going for a few more months.
Thanks, Craig
holy crap I'm having the same problem. I havent determined heat to be the problem, but the only possible clue is that once, right after i hung up ona phone conversation, the screen turned semi white. If you looked real hard you could tell that the menus and programs were still operating normally, but the screen was screwy. using johkoss's V8 w. Manilla2D
Major problem, theres a MASSIVE thread going for this, sometimes it pays to use the search function.....
this is "the most common issue" on a hermes device.
I, personally, experienced it 3 times with 3 different hermes. Each time I had to send the device back to the shop. Because my device was under warranty, I always got a new one, free of charge.
You guys might want to check the Wiki, cause I believe there's a section there just dedicated for this issue.
I can't remember what the details are, but if my memory serves me right, it has something to do with the hardware (connection of cables to the screen).
I don't use hermes anymore, but I still come to the hermes forum every now and then...
Therer are actually a myriad of reasons you can get whitescreen, both hardware and software. From the descriptions though, it sounds like hardware.
This can be one of the most difficult things to fix as there may be multiple reasons and fixing one thing won't fix the issue.

I am agree with you. White screen may be appears occasionally and may be not. When white screen appears in my experience, it's enough to soft-reset.
May be different solutions with another?
HTC TyTN White Screen Issue with S/N Starting with HT6's
is your TyTN S/N start's with a HT6 you have a defective model for sure they are one of the first breads and are being known too have issues, so anyone make sure it starts with a HT733G4323 Etc, if your buying one of these used.
Or Even new Watch Out.
HTC TyTN
1.10
mobile 5
With 6.1 Plug-in's
Can't say that MY HT6 is a problem.. I actually found it faster than a HT7 (I have both). I did have to replace the LCD, BUT, it was because the touchscreen died, NOT whitescreen.
I bought the HT7 as a broken Hermes off ebay and found that it was actually less responsive than my older model. Used it to fix my older HT6 than use the HT7 motherboard in my, now, Frankenphone....
The "broken" Jasjam had a broken camera. It was actually just unplugged from the board. Liked my older model better...
Cheers...
White Screen
Hi to all,
I'm using PDAcorner v.20 w/ 5mb page pool,i to has encounter a white screen issue,it is true that its my be a hardware and software issue but if you only encounter white screen that all the time it is a software issue, you can check (schaps advance config) im using version 2.02.1.0.0 builtin in pdacorner v20 check the performance setting disable file system cache and file system filter cache in the glyph cache use only 8kb observe if the white screen will appear again.
hope that this will help all with white screen issue.
Hi guys I just got my G1 and I so sad because I have a really weird problem with it.
When the phone is in sleep mode (screen off) sometimes the unlock screen shows, but sometimes weird things happen: only the top bar appear then fade and the screen stay black although still on (I can see the back-light on). Sometimes the screen fades but not to black, to random colors like green, red or blue and then to black.
At first I thought this was an software bug, I'm a software engineer working with cell phones development and I never see a hardware problem like that. But I changed everything software related and I still have this problem (spl, radio and OS), so this has to be a hardware problem unless I'm forgetting something.
[update]
Looks like it happens more often in R33 (original and JF) than in 1.5 (Haykuro H build).
Anyone with ideas?
I'm in Brazil, so I bought it through an importer, I have a warranty if I need to replace the phone, but that would take some weeks, so I'm trying hard to fix it by myself.
I know at least 10 people with a G1... and have NEVER seen this issue with ANYONE.
Dude I would highly recommend replacing the phone.
I myself am a software engineer as well.... this behavior is not conducive to something buggy software would do.
My guess would be a faulty wire connecting to your phones board.
Recently, my mom's tf developed a weird screen effect, everything turns this reddish orange color. Not all pixels, but some of them, like a shading. The only thing she said that changed was that her weather wall-paper updated, but the issue turns up on all screens. Help?
After looking around more, it appears as if it's mostly on picutres that the strange coloring appears.
Also, the TF is completely stock, with the latest update.
If you could post pictures that would be helpfull but most of these issues are caused by drops loosening the digitizer cable so you may have to send it in to get fixed
Today my hd2 has shown some strange color issues: Grey / Transparent black causes a grin/yellow tint. I did the usual troubleshooting (soft and hard reset) but it did not help. I also read some old threads about it saying that I should flex the screen to make it go away (http://forum.xda-developers.com/sho...m.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1003265). I tried that without luck though I'm not sure if I "flexed" the screen enough but I'm afraid of breaking it.
Anyone an idea what caused this problem? I did drop the phone a few times over the years, however, today, when it all started, not. Secondly, I can't really think of a broken screen as it seems that only a specific grey is tinted yellow/green (the grey whatsapp uses for their contact without photos and the grey used for the keyboard when you eneter your pin.
Any help is really appriciated... Don't want to loose the king :crying: as this color issue makes really unconfortable.

EDIT: I'm on a european hd2 with the latest Pdaimatejam WP7 rom (v8.2) and I even tried to reflash the rom... Seems a hardware fault:crying:
Today morning the issue faded away without doing anything at all . Might be that the screen got somehow pressure causing some disorder of the fluid crystals and with time, they reordered themselves...
Hi,
I've just purchased my D802 from a friend who said the screen was faulty.
When turned on, there are white ghosting lines behind text and light colours, but when it is something black there is no such issue.
After using it for a while, leaving screen on for 10 minutes or so and scrolling through images, the display seems to go more and more white until i turn off and turn it on, then it goes somewhat normal and happens again.
Is this an issue with the LCD itself? I've had a look inside, and it doesn't seem like it's ever had a screen replacement of any kind.
Thanks in advance.

You have not given sufficient details for someone to troubleshoot this issue.
1 Rooted?
2 Have Custom Recovery?
3. what ROM are you running?
If you answered YES to 1 and 2 just dowbload the correct kernel from this post then flash in RECOVERY (LINK White Lines Fix)
