Log on to airfagev.com and go to forums. look for the thread about accessories or look for member named artic. he sells accessories for xdaII. pick up is usually in an LRT station that both of you agree upon. Last time I saw list price if from 1,800 to 2,000. For the instructions on how to replace, there is a technical manual for the xdaII that you can download from the internet. Can't remember where I got it just search for it.

Had my XDA 2 (hima) for a few years now and it's starting to look a little worn out.
Anyone know where i can pick up a replacement fascia (casing) for it?
I'm looking for authentic ones if possible but would settle for a really good 3rd party one as well. Tried ebay but so far no joy.
Also, if anyone happens to know where i can find a black version of the fascia, please post up. TBH I'm a little sick of the silver version (and black would go really well with the slidelock app)

Hi,
i bought at ebay xda 2(i) dummys, cause the case is the same. It's the second time i do it and it works very well.
The dummy case is 100% the same like the original xda.
A dummy is a xda without electronic inside for showing it in the o2 shops.
The last dummy I have bought for only 1,- Euro at ebay germany.
regards
Frank
I have a damaged X10a housing from rogers but I think I'm getting another housing for it. is there a difference between a X10a n a X10i? I'm thinking of getting one off of ebay but I don't know if their real either...

To my understanding, there is no physical difference between the X10a and X10i. The only difference is the the network bands they run on.

How hard is it to change housings? Thinking of changing from White to black
Mckebapp did a good job on taking X10 apaort, please refer to the following link with screenshots
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=668132&highlight=upskirt&page=9
If you are going to buy the housing form dealextreme, do keep in mind that it only come with housing, and it does not come with the Touch screen glass.
The hardest part is to separate your original touch screen glass, becareful when you do that, don't break it.
Also, the color of the touch screen glass will be different if you are thinking of changing the color of the housing.
To OP, what color is your usb port cap? willing to part it out?
Like all SE phones dismantling the phone is easy, but removing the glass digitizer off the fascia can be tricky, and housings advertised at dealextreme are the same as on ebay, and i doubt the replacement housings have any ready adhesive to stick your digitizer back on...
Thanks guys, you have no cluehow helpfull this was, I do appreciate it greatly

I would be curious to see if it is actual SE OEM housing or a copy. My suggestion is to contact SE and get a price on the actual housing. The copies can sometimes leave a bit to be desired. OR find someone who bought one and see how the colors match up. That can be a good way to find out if they are OEM or no. Back cover has production numbers on it.
Good luck
Hey XDA members
Im in a problem here, my gf fell the other day, and the phone dropped out of her hand, and the glass broke. And it's Only the glass. The touch input is luckily just fine.
So here is my question. How do i replace the glass (pretty good with tech, but haven't tried to replace a smartphone glass-screen, though i know that it should be pretty simple) and where can i purchase the spare glass in Denmark?
tried to search the forums... but didn't find what is was looking for. (though if a didn't searched good enough, please post an URL for the forum)
thanks in advance

For an original glass, try mytrendyphone.com - they're based in denmark, and cheap.
For a how-to, search google for wildfire disassembly.
thanks mate
check this out http://tjworld.net/blog/htc-desire-tear-down
it's not the wildfire but the desire but I think they look quite the same at the inside
And most probably the XDA HD2 forum
I recently dropped my HD2 in the ground, resulting in a broken lcd AND digitizer
I saw the post where one of the members here changed it, and it contained links to official assemble/disassemble videos. I got my hopes up,and searched around for a replacement lcm. I was recommended [email protected] I bought one, and watched all the material in the post I found. I watched it, watched it again...and than again. I was ready to change it and restore my HD2 to it's glory.
all done and.....wtf, touch does not work..... after opening it again I can see I manage to tear the ribboncable from the digitized to the LCD I can't afford to buy another replacement LCM... So this is goodbye (probably)...and back to my trusty old Hero...
Thanks for listening
!!!!! why did you have to do it all by ur self u should have bought the lcm module an given it to some comp engineer to do it for u!!! anyways how did u manage to seperate it from the housing (i couldnt do it till now i know i know im a Hippocrit )
well I have made phone repairs earlier with self-bought parts, and I have a degree in service electronics. The place the cable is torn, is where it's soldered to the lcd/IC. Tried re-soldering it, but for some reason the the solder will not stick.
But I think I will save money for a month or two and buy a Desire HD or a Incredible S

Hi, So Im looking for somewhere that sells springs for the desire z because my hinge is starting to get worn a little bit.
Anyone know where i can get some that ship to Ireland or is there another product I can take them from?
I cant find them anywhere.
Thanks
I have looked for these as well with no luck. I have seen a howto fix that stetched the current springs to fix. But this would have to make them weaker in just doing that.
If have one out and measured might be able to order something like grainger industrial.

Whenever I find a site that posts to me they're always really expemcive with shipping coming in around at 20 euros r so its outrageous. So I really want a good spring because I think tht would make me want to keep my phone for longer

Glad you got the spring Bombadier.
For instructions, the movie is pretty good. I freeze framed it a couple of times but it worked out good.
One advice is to not apply too much pressure when prying the back open. I mean you do, but control it so that you do not "go through" with the tool. I read about somebody that broke through the volume switches.
Also, when you get to the spring, do not take it apart more than you need, I did inadvertently, and then I had to figure out how those hinges are put together...
The spring, as I said is twice long as needed (and then a little bit) so make sure you cut it nicely. Please read my original post. Good luck.

do you guys think it would be worthwhile to make a spacer or is the compressed space all taken up by the spring?
No need, if you don't buy the springs posted into the op of that other thread (forget who the post is by, but it has a link to the springs and a tutorial) for $4 (for three of them) you could probably find then locally for a dollar or so from various hardware store or hobby shops. Making a spacer may just be a lot of work for nothing better than a new spring. Even if you have something lying around that was near perfect it just wouldn't be worth the hassel

problem is im not in the states, and I used to be an Airsoft tech before i went back to college so i know exactly how expensive(and getting quality parts is trouble too) getting the springs are gonna be(after conversion about $20 which is way too much for springs) for the same reason I don't use ebay so if I could send someone trustworthy the money for the parts and shipping I would be most grateful
So you don't live near a major city? I mean if you don't I get it, it may be hard to find the locally. So if you are going to rule out a local online seller too I guess you could make a spacer. You would need to trim the spring down smaller and spacer would need to be a cylinder shape (like the spring) and maybe 6-10mm long. Plastic or metal, or well any other hard material. This against the old spring may help, but may also not do a whole lot.
The only problem with all this is to find the proper material, if you got something lying around that seems close you could widdle it to shape, it just seems like a heck of a lot of work for a try and try again kinda project.
