Hey XDA members
Im in a problem here, my gf fell the other day, and the phone dropped out of her hand, and the glass broke. And it's Only the glass. The touch input is luckily just fine.
So here is my question. How do i replace the glass (pretty good with tech, but haven't tried to replace a smartphone glass-screen, though i know that it should be pretty simple) and where can i purchase the spare glass in Denmark?
tried to search the forums... but didn't find what is was looking for. (though if a didn't searched good enough, please post an URL for the forum)
thanks in advance

For an original glass, try mytrendyphone.com - they're based in denmark, and cheap.
For a how-to, search google for wildfire disassembly.
thanks mate
check this out http://tjworld.net/blog/htc-desire-tear-down
it's not the wildfire but the desire but I think they look quite the same at the inside

Thank you.
I ordered the spare casing. Will post how it goes....
Sorted!!
I have received the casing, followed instructions and I now have a bright new Athena
The only bad thing is that the camera button and the volume sliders are missing from the replacing casing. and the camera button is a nightmare to take it over from the old one.
If anyone needs assistance with replacing the casing, just PM and I'll do my best to help.
So which did you get in the end, the brando one?
I'm contemplating doing mine at some point, it's pretty scarred.
I did go for the brando and it took about a week to receive it in Scotland.
The instructions are quite easy to follow, but the tools are a must, specially the flat tool to push the parts open. I got mine here when I repaired my powerMAC a few weeks ago.
does someone know where to get a new digitizer? my one is broken (the LCD itself is still fine) and I ordered this one. But they refunded me my money and said they are out of stock
Any suggestions?
Try the brando website.
It looks like they have a lot of spare parts...
If you can't find it, try to contact them, I got a few parts not listed this way.
Good luck

You can try here
http://www.gpsmidlands.co.uk/index.php?category=Pda Digitisers
but this is £90 of her majesty money
the one in your ebay link for £19 is unbelievable, are they for real?
Regards
they said they are out of stock but they promised to contact me if they get some "digitizer-only"
currently they only have full LCD screens for £150
as far as I can see the dealer seems to be realiable...

Log on to airfagev.com and go to forums. look for the thread about accessories or look for member named artic. he sells accessories for xdaII. pick up is usually in an LRT station that both of you agree upon. Last time I saw list price if from 1,800 to 2,000. For the instructions on how to replace, there is a technical manual for the xdaII that you can download from the internet. Can't remember where I got it just search for it.
And most probably the XDA HD2 forum
I recently dropped my HD2 in the ground, resulting in a broken lcd AND digitizer
I saw the post where one of the members here changed it, and it contained links to official assemble/disassemble videos. I got my hopes up,and searched around for a replacement lcm. I was recommended [email protected] I bought one, and watched all the material in the post I found. I watched it, watched it again...and than again. I was ready to change it and restore my HD2 to it's glory.
all done and.....wtf, touch does not work..... after opening it again I can see I manage to tear the ribboncable from the digitized to the LCD I can't afford to buy another replacement LCM... So this is goodbye (probably)...and back to my trusty old Hero...
Thanks for listening
!!!!! why did you have to do it all by ur self u should have bought the lcm module an given it to some comp engineer to do it for u!!! anyways how did u manage to seperate it from the housing (i couldnt do it till now i know i know im a Hippocrit )
well I have made phone repairs earlier with self-bought parts, and I have a degree in service electronics. The place the cable is torn, is where it's soldered to the lcd/IC. Tried re-soldering it, but for some reason the the solder will not stick.
But I think I will save money for a month or two and buy a Desire HD or a Incredible S

I've bought a replacement lcd screen/digitizer combo and I was just wondering what parts I need to fit it. I have been following this guide (it's in German), at step 29 it says to use 3M double sided tape to connect the front panel to the rest of the phone.
Is this tape the right stuff?
The original tape used in the phone look a bit like foam, I assume it gives it a better fit.
The guide also mentions using glue to stick it together at the end. Do I have to do this or will it stop me from making repairs in the future?
use any rubber based adhesive.
I'm American, but I've been in Germany for the last 4 years (until a few weeks ago, now I'm in Southampton studying). But I digress, I can speak good German. From what I read of your guide (steps ~28.5-29), this tape looks indeed correct.
But I think you probably have more experience with swapping glass/digitizers than I do. I've tore my HD2 down, but only had to replace the earpiece speaker and (thank goodness) the glass/dig remained intact.
I just wanted to say, if there's some particular step in this guide that you have trouble understanding (some of it looks like its written in slang, not formal German as a normal 'Gebrauchsanleitung' [user-manual] would be)...feel free to PM me.
Best of luck,
Sean

I've been using Google Translate to do most of the page but there was the odd phrase it can't get. I managed to dismantle it without a problem, I've just got to wait for the replacement screen to turn up now. Here's to hoping the assembling process is straightforward.
I used glue not adhesive and never had problems

Hello!
Dropped my phone the other day and the screen is unusable.
There are glass, but also touch screen.

Tried googling it .. but found nothing that helped, anyone know?
Find 5's impossible to buy at oppo anymore: (
Grateful for answers.
Wow, that looks like an almost impossible task
what do you mean by Find 5 being impossible to buy at Oppo, I bought mine 2 weeks ago from oppostyle.com (webshop europe), it is even for sale (probably because the release of the Find 7 in the near future)
maybe this thread at oppoforums can be of some assistance ?:

When i wrote, it was "out of stock", when i look nog "in stock"..
But i will try to get my find 5 to work, then i maby buy Find 7 or the Oneplus +..
my thread in oppo forum. http://www.oppoforums.com/threads/screen-replecement.8538/
I changed the display in Bangkok headquarter. Really hard to find and expensive. Cost 4000 THB which is around 130 dollar.
Really hard to find the headquarter but otherwise it will need up to 2 weeks to change it.
Also tried some mobile stores but no luck with that, found only one guy who was able to do it but also wanted the same price.
Btw now my earphone plug isn't working anymore :/
So im gonna attach my question here.
My Find5 Screen is shattered, but the content is displayed all right. So i just need a new digitizer like that, or am i wrong?
Hey guys.
I have changed my display twice using this guide.
@ BL4CK_92: I would get a complete screen with both a touchscreen and a digitizer since it is almost impossible to separate the two without breaking them.
You can find it quite cheap on ebay now.
edit.
I can't post links yet it seems.
Just make a search on youtube for "oppo find 5 screen replacement" and you will find it. The guide is made by a guy named Omar Ali.
It worked well for me.
