i really need help, i'm stuck on bootloader and i don't know how to re-flash because my computer won't recognize the usb?
my phone won't hard reset, someone please help!
my phone is an htc hermes, qtek 9600
Would be helpfull if you could tell us:
-Is there a hard SPL on the device.
-Which ROM are you using.
-what happend? Did a flash go wrong?
-Vista or XP?
As the-equinoxe says and the wiki and unbricking guide is easily found:

Use the sd card method. My phone will not connect to active sync via USB, so i flash with the sd card. IMHO this method is safer and faster. Since you are stuck in bootloader, transfer files with a card reader from your pc, put the card back in the phone then soft reset. All should be good. Maybe once you re-flash you will get your active sync back.

theres no hard SPL
im using the old htc windows mobile 5 rom
yes, the usb cord got disconnected by accident
im using windows vista
Related
Im unable to upgrade the rom on my stock htc polaris.
im using vista with the 4.0 driver installed (dl'd from this forum).
I've turned off usb connection in win device center however when i try and install hard spl2 the progress screen sits at 0% and then times out with a 262 error.
does anyone have any ideas that can help me?
Use XP. I bet it works OK then...
4.0 Driver installed?
I have a stock Vista Ultimate, stock Device Center 6.1 and a German Orbit 2. It took me a while, but I finally managed it.
I didnt turn anything off, nothing. The only thing I had to change since the O2 ROM doesnt run unsigned stuff: the reg-entry to allow unsigned apps. Thats all.
Remove SD-Card
Connect to Device Center, wait till connection is fully established
Start the supplied RUU from HardSPL package
Follow instructions/click next/next/next...
Check your device, you have to confirm the execution of the loader
When the tri-color screen appears, unplug and replug, it'll upgrade the SPL and takes approx. 2 seconds
If you have no success at all: try to leave the device at the tri-color screen, quit the RUU and run it again, just leaving the device at the tri-color screen.
After a couple tries, I managed it and I'm happily running a stock HTC ROM instead of the O2 one.
Good luck, report back if it worked.

u must be in normal status i mean just whe u r synching with vista and the ppc should be on and then start the hard spl (u don't need to go in bootloader by yourself) it will go to bootloader automatically and then upgrade will be successfull.
so
connect ppc with wmdc vista and then when connected and start hardspl
tried all of this but still no joy.
i think running it on xp would be fine but i dont have an xp box

failing that, go get an (micro)SD card and format it as FAT32
bung the RUU_Signed.nbh inside the rom update onto the SD card and name it POLAIMG.nbh (or to make it flash with no user confirmation, POLADIAG.nbh) slap the SD into your device and reset into SPL
Thanks A Million!!!!

Olipro, You saved my life. After trying to flash my own cooked rom, my cruise wouldn't go beyond the splash screen. I used your tip and it worked!!!
THHHHAAAAAANKK YOUU!!!

Hi, I know that here ais lot of threads about removing hrad-spl, but noone works for me.
I cant connect my Herald to computer (activesync doesnt want to be connected).
Can anyone help me how to flash original spl prom sdcard or from bootloader (i cant flash any rom from bootloader, i only cant use sctivesync)
I hope you can uderstand me, and i hope you will help me. Thx Stepan
i've never heard of anybody removing spl using SD card flash, but heres how it SHOULD go.
extract the SPL.nbh from an RUU using something like 7-zip
extract it to root of memory card and rename heraimg.nbh
go into bootloader, it should detect
follow instructions on screen (slide side slider)
wait (it takes unusally long for sdcard flashes)
I tried this, but it doesnt work :-( I need to get it repaired.
any other sugestion?
I tried sspl (jumpSpl) and It dosnt work, there is only white screen after running it :-(
I need help, please.
How to remove HARD-SPL withou activesync.
Thank you very much.
how do you mean it didn't work?
you tried the SD card method right?
it didn't work how?
So. I flasher SPL.nbh, and nothing happened. I think it is because of overwrite protection of that hard-spl (right?)...
Does anyone know how to make sspl (jumpSpl) working?
Or how remove hardspl overwrite protection, or how to overwrite hardspl.
thx
Does anyone know how to get back original SPL, without activesync?
I need my Herald
if you can't connect to your computer even in bootloader then something might be worng with your herald's mobo or something
I CAN connect to pc if i am in bootloader (i can flash rom from bootloader).
I cant olny connect to activesync :-(
Dou you have any solution in this case?
you don't need activesync to flash rom from bootloader. you just need that generic "pocket pc" connection. Try using the un-HSPL process while your device is in bootloader
does anyone know of a company or repair service that will unbrick my hermes?
thanks
Whats wrong, maybe we can help...
Give us a brief rundown on whats wrong, and what you did to fix...
Well first of all,
the phone was bricked through unable to flash a rom
i didn't get a chance to check the SPL and IPL before the phone was bricked
the phone is only showing bootloader and the ok+power+soft reset doesn't work
ive tried the micro sd method and didn't work
i had just barely got the phone and was a noob at it so like every other person who doesn't take the time to read, didn't put the Hard SPL on the device.
i don't know what else to do now.
thanks for replying
Download the original SHIPPED rom.
Untick "allow usb connection" in activesync on your PC.
Reset into bootloader - hold power, OK button above flywheel and rset with stylus. This should bring you to thr tri-colour screen wher your IPL and SPL are shown. This is true bootloader, not a screwed up version. DO THIS...
Connect Hermes to pc.
Run RUU-Wrapper.exe of original rom.
This may or may not woirk, Good luck...
IF this works, go here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=296722
Download Hard SPL V7 & install it. Then you can use sd card method to flash roms, I find it safer...
Cheers...

See the problem that i have with that is the fact that i don't know what my original rom was, all i know was that it was an htc windows mobile 5 rom, but i don't know what version..
could it help if i told you that it is a qtek 9600 (herm100)?
Owh, forgot to mention.
I already applied hardSPL. I guess thats why the process of recovering it quite simple. N I directly flash the ROM to WM6.1 v13.3 Cooked Rom. It works like a charm.
Bo0mcxh402 : sorry mate. I didn't know the original version of ur ROM. Maybe u can try to ask around. I'm sure there've lot of users out there also using the same phone as yours,
Try the HTC stock WM06 rom which you should be able to find somewhere on here... May work...
Cheers...

It's irrelevant what your original ROM was/is. Follow these directions and use the T-Mobile ROM.
The T-Mobile ROM won't install. It will go thru a couple of steps (one of which is "Erasing" which is critical to get through) and then it will "Error" out. After the T-Mobile ROM "erases", your Hermes should be back to a state where you can flash any ROM you prefer.

Well i Tried the method, but i can't even get the phone to sync even after i unticked the "Allowed USB connections," the phone is recognized as "HTC usb connection" but when i run the t-mobile rom, it says error 264, (USB Connection)
The reason I said to use the shipped rom is because Bo0mcxh402's device ISN'T supercid... If it was it could take ANY rom you want to throw at it BUT because its not you HAVE to have the STOCK CARRIER ROM it was shipped with (later update may work too as the cid should be recognised)...
Cheers...

Did the T-Mobile ROM do *anything* or just immediately error out?

I couldn't do anything because the t-mobile rom didn't recognize my hermes even though my computer did
That pesky CID again as stated so many times before. You need to find your stock carrier rom. The upgrade to WM06 will work as well as it has the same CID as the shipped rom.

well i ended up trying that and nothing happened... the usb connection didn't work for the hermes, i know that there is nothing wrong with the usb connection because i used it on my t-mobile dash.
IVE GIVEN UP.. IS THERE A COMPANY FOR A REASONABLE PRICE THAT WILL UNBRICK THE PHONE?
On the PC - Untick "Allow usb connections" in activesync settings.
On Hermes - Hold OK button, power button and reset with stylus. This will bring you back to bootloader BUT it won't be the screwy bad flash bootloader.
Connect the Hermes to the PC via usb. Run the RUU_Wrapper.exe of the stock rom.
This should work, if it doesn't then there may be no help available. You don't want activesync trying to connect to the Hermes so its better to disable the usb connection settings, You might be able to get a successful flash this way without activesync screwing it up.
Can't say about any unbrick service. Don't think they could help, only thing they might do is replace the mainboard (if they can find) and that would be expensive.
Cheers...
Help. Need help urgently. I did CID ulock my device but I tried a new rom and now stuck in bootloader/ tricolour screen. U have tried everything from putting an original rom on the sd card and trying to boot that to trying to run mtty. Active sync doesn't recognise a usb connected device and neither does mtty. What can I do?

Is there a way to flash hard-spl via micro-sd? I've tried but it do not progress from Loading...
It doesn't make sense that you could flash hardspl via SD because the way I understand it, its what lets you flash from SD to begin with.
But then again, the answer you just got is not from a cellphone guru so...
I can't flash HardSPL via USB because smth is broken and PC do not recognize the device.
I've tried to flash it via RAPHIMG.nbh on micro-SD. But after restart it do not progress from "Loading..." screen
Moved as not ROM Development.
Hard-SPL needs to be done via USB use a different computer.
That's bad. My Touch Pro needs motherboard replacement to have USB-sync functions again. It's not a PC problem or cable.

Yep this is 100% true. I had asked this question about a year ago, and got the same answer. Even then I used a FUZE that a friend gave me that worked at AT&T (because I didn't want to brick mine) and I could not get it to hardSPL from SD. Sorry bro.
