Hi all,
I was wondering if it's possible to lock the device and put the phone in standby in one go?
Often when you lock your phone you don't need it anymore and putting it in standby immediatly might save some precious battery juice...
Cheers
B
or for example when in standby, when receiving a message .. the phone wakes it self up .. if you have to leave it in yur pocket, it means that you can touch the touch screen unwillingly.
So yes, I want to be able to lock my phone and put in into standy mode at the same time ;D

Hi twolf,
that thread has 32 pages, can you point me a bit closer to the standby thing? Thx!
cheers
B
just th first, its a software...
:/
quite aware of that but I don't want to alter my slider behaviour... maybe I'll send a message to the creator of the soft to see how he has added this functionality to his app.
cheers

Why not use key lock that's on the device already - put it into to standby and it locks the keys but wakes up on calls & messages.
Start - Setteings - Key Lock - Lock allbuttons except Power Button
well.. the normal keylock doesn't switch the mobile into standby, you need to wait a while before the auto-standby kicks in... and I really don't find the standby button convenient to press
I have the same problem
Another solution?
My standby buton don´t work
Use Slide2Unlock, you can tell it to lock the phone when it goes to standby
Thanks, but, the Slide2Unlock don´t power on my PDA.
the Standby botton, is the power on/off.
best regards
To all good developers out there.
I (we) need a DeviceLock Application for the Touch Diamond cause existing lock APPs are to buggy for the Diamond. One is extremly draining the battery and dont lock all hardware keys another one lock all keys but slows down the device that the incoming call is not shown.
I am searching for a simple application that locks the device after I press the power button and unlock it by a slide to right on the TouchScreen. Same if a call is incoming.
Not more!!! A simple lock without additional features. Is there a way that anyone can develop this?????
What about the standard device lock that comes with WM?
You can also activate a today plugin for it, so on your today screen you press on the lock and your device is locked and the screen light is dimmed down and after some more time shut off.
Or you press the power button, then the device is locked and the screen light is immediately shut off.
To unlock you only need to press two buttons on the screen.
To unlock you can also press the power button to turn on the device and then pull out the stylus, no need to press the screen because with these two actions the device is also unlocked.
What's wrong about the standard WM device lock?
standard WM device lock is stupid! it is very difficult to unlock device in daylight. Gray button on gray background and dim backlight... what can be worst?
If anyone know how to change colors in that screen - it would be great!

Ok, that's a point. The screen is unlocked and things could happen unintentionally.
There is a thread about this, with some idea, but I think there is no good solution yet for this issue:

try this
Hi all
have you try Throttlelocker ?
i have install on my Diamond and it run good. light version, no battery problem, skinnable........
i think can be a good compromise.
main point: Throttlelocker can totally lock the device.
problem: you need to turn device in suspend mode manually. since now i have not found a way to use it under the backlight.
ciao
I personally use S2U2, it works perfectly on the Diamond and is fairly easy to unlock. The Slide 2 Answer feature is pretty good too - stopps you accidentally answering calls.

Which version did you use? I tested the 3 last versions and have extrem battery drain and the "home"-key is not locked.

infact on Diamond S2U2 dont lock the home button, and battery slow down very very fast, expecially last version.
with S2U2 battery life is less than one day (medium device usage)
with Throttlelocker battery life is more than 2 days (medium usage too)
due to the fact that diamond have little (big!) batteryproblem, for me better to use Throttlelocker.
ciao
here is mine........

And that is the problem. At work I carry my phone in my pocket and if I get a call and dont recognize them my phone answer the call. That is the reason I want a lock software that locks on calls although.

I use this which I think is simply put the best autolock for windows mobile. Customizable actions, my advice, keep it simple.

[APP] SensorLock
Hi Atze001,
try to have a look at Sensor lock, (Themes, Applications and Software , http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=422871).
maybe this app. can solve your problem.
ciao
I haven't noticed any battery problems when using S2U2 on my diamond. Every time I put my phone down, i invoke S2U2 (I have it mapped to the long press call button - never automatically, maybe this has something to do with it).
I can normally go about 3-4 days on a single charge while S2U2 is running when I'm not using it.
The version I'm using is 1.18, but I'm going to update it soon.
Hi,
i use S2U2 to lock my device...
Sometimes if i get a SMS the sceen stays black
and the vibration alarm keeps running till i unlock
S2U2 ...
Does anybody else have it or know how to fix that ?
It only happens from time to time...

I use S2U2 and don't have this behaviour.
Sorry
Tony
i don't use S2U2 but it's happened to me a few times before. I reset the phone afterwards but every now and again it happens. No fix?
Hi
You may be able to resolve this by using advanced config and setting the "resuming timeout" values under the Power options to around 15 seconds.
What is probably happening is the phone wakes up in unattended mode (it still looks off) and it sends a start vibrate signal, however the phone then goes back to sleep before it has chance to send a vibrate stop signal.
Regards
Phil

You should try csdevctrl http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=386451 this program has an option to auto unlock the phone if it has woken up manually. If the phone has woken up by itself (incoming call, new reminder, alarm, new sms, low battery life warning, etc) it remains locked. Try it
It's not what you asked EXACTLY but it should cover your needs.
Just replaced my Touch2 with Touch Diamond 2.
my previous phone was enabling the lock-slide to unlock function everytime i had my phone to the standby, so i was avoiding unwantde redials etc while it was in my pocket.
now with the TouchDiamond 2 its a bit different. The lock and sslide to unlock function is activated only if i press and hold the end button, end then turn the phone to the standby mode.
is there a way or a tweak that i can always activate the lock function, like on my Touch2?
here is what i was looking for

If you want to use the default slide unlocker that cames with the rom and make it active when the display goes off, you should install Diamond Tweak and on it change the "automatic lock" to "enable"
XC
Automatic lock on TD 2

Hi, for anyone having this issue and wanting to enable auto locking your device, there's a registry tweak that can do it. The same one was working on TD1. You just need to go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\BackLight and find a string AutoDeviceLockEnable. You have to change it's value from 0 to 1 and voila the device locks automaticly when the screen switches off.
Try this cab, worked for me.
