Hi all
I bought HTC touch P3452 last week.. but surprisingly, in 'Active synch' and bluetooth device name, ii show name "HTC_P3450".
Also in Resco Explorer->system properties, it shows device ID - ELF010050, but "htc touch enhanced p3452" is called ELFIN.
So i am doubtful if i have been handed P3450 instead of P3452.
Please help
See in system information if the RAM of device is 128 or 64 mb, if it is 64 then it is elf and if 128 MB then it is elfin.
Elfins are identified as ELF0100 etc, generally as Elfs. If it has got 128 MB RAM, it's Elfin.
HI all,
My device info shows,
RAM=128
ROM=256
So i hope its P3452 only
YEah i have same..............on active sync my touch detect as P3450 but when using tools in this forum( forget what ) my device detect as Elfin
Cherrrsss
Elfin
Its okay. You've an Elfin.

PDA France dug up some details about the HTC Galaxy, a new GPS-enabled Pocket PC from HTC (their first, in fact) that looks to be about the same size as the HTC Magician and that runs Windows Mobile 5.0 and has a 300MHz processor, 64MB of Flash ROM, 32MB of RAM, a 2.8-inch, 320 x 240 pixel LCD screen, Bluetooth, WiFi, and an SDIO expansion card slot. Odd to see HTC pumping out something which isn’t also a cellphone, but they’ve probably figured out from their Taiwanese brothers-in-ODM that there’s actually some decent money in dedicated GPS handhelds. Won’t be out until around the end of year.
Again, for the 100000st time: It might be possible to load WM5 onto the Magician, but this can be done ONLY by HTC and MS. And they won't do it EVER!! Why? Have a look:

Hi All,
I was reading on the htc US website that htc touch on sprint is gps enabled. Now does that mean that all htc touch are gps enabled on the hardware side. It is just a question of enabling it on the software side that GPS is not availble in elf.
I believe elf --> htc touch
elfin --> htc touch on sprint.
looking forward to replies

GSM HTC Touch with 64MB RAM/128MB ROM = Elf (no GPS chip)
GSM HTC Touch with 128MB RAM/256MB ROM = Elfin (no GPS chip)
CDMA HTC Touch = Vogue (has GPS chip)
I'm running and using GPS on my HTC Touch right now. I love it!!! Just gotta have the right ROM.

How the hell did you get GPS on the ELF. You can't unless you are using an external BLuetooth GPS on elf. This isn't what the OP was asking. You probably have the VOGUE (CDMA) not ELF (GSM) - Completely different devices even though they look the same and are both called TOUCH
A new ROM does not all of a sudden create a GPS Chip in the ELF to be able to use GPS
Please read as Dsixda has mentioned in his post and no need of any further discussion
Hey,
I've been trying to figure out if it will work. I have both an HTC Touch (ELF) and have just recently upgraded to the Diamond. I want to connect my ELF to my Diamond via bluetooth so that the ELF can get online. Is this possible?
I've paired the two devices together, set up both to allow for SIM sharing, created the bluetooth connection in the connection manager on the ELF and used *99# as the dial out number. From everything I've found online that should be all, but I can't get it to work.
Any advice would be appreciated, Thanks.
