Philippines Service Center? - iPAQ rw6828, XDA Atom General

Since MWg took over O2 Company and replace all O2 brand with MWg, Brightpoint Philippines is no longer supporting our devices. Where do we bring our unit now, if there are problems or if it needs servicing? Thanks.

The answer will be NONE. There is no SVC in PH anymore, you would need to send your unit to SG. I can recommend a good tech if you want. You may contact kulasap from airfagev.com if you have problems with your unit.

Qtek

Hi,
I am planning on getting a wizard but I'm not sure yet whether I'll go with Imate or Qtek.
Now I KNOW its been discussed here which to go with. Many people seem to say go for the KJAM as has english support sites etc.
My question is more about sending things back to Qtek. I have never owned a Qtek product and so not unsurprisingly I've never sent one back to them. I have however sent my XDA2s back a number of times and O2 have actually been pretty good.
I've already asked on the blue angel forumn but not much info. Hoping you guys may be more in the fame of mind to answer. Anyone sent anything back to Qtek? How was it? Can you even send it back from the UK? Maybe its the xenophobe in me but it worries me they have no English websites.
Any opinions/help?
Lewis
as far as i know its not just websites.. the support / repair centres are not in england so that if it went tits up you'd have to send it overseas. whereas i-mate have these in the uk.
never had any problems with my qtek, however as i have said before, on this type of product support is important.
i now have a kjam and can at least keep it up to date as soon as an update is available
For the first year of warranty I believe the store you bought it from would be responsible for dealing with sending the unit back to the manufacturers. After that, yes... you're on your own.
All i-mates worldwide are repaired by Brightpoint - Qtek Distributor !

Anybody used HTC Europe for Full Cosmetic Refurbishment

Hi All,
I got a T-mobile MDA Pro off Ebay, it was supposed to be Mint but a week after I got it noticed that is had a couple of scuffs around the power socket.
I noticed on other threads that HTC europe can do Full Cosmetic Refurbishment for about £65??
Has anyone used HTC Europe for a Full Cosmetic Refurbishment?
Cheers
John
seems like a bit of waste of money to me
htc
Hi I haven't used them for a refurb but I took my blueangel up there for a repair and when I got there I managed to drop my universal in the car park on the way in. the guy in there seemed really nice, I asked him about a new case for the universal ad he said it was about 60 odd quid so I assume they just replace all the cases for that price, he said it was a complete housing. I didn't bother getting it done though. blueangel came back working though, had to chase them a bit though but I wasn't really in a hurry for it though because I don't use it any more but bear it in mind that it could take a while, mine was there for about a week and a half. think they forgot. interesting place though from reception you can look round the corner and see them all working on the phones.

Not true. o2's XDA helpline will arrange repairs / cosmetic refurbs. SBE are only *i-mate* authorised service agents, no other Universal brands, and may not be able to get exec parts.
www.sbe-ltd.com
p.s they are useless.

They previously re-furbed my wallaby. But then I did work for them ( in the Arlington Centre in Leeds) at the time 8) .
What part(s) do you need? Are you happy fitting it yourself? I have everything but the base and hinge brackets.

Hi,
I had my Orange M5000 fully refurbished just last week. Took a week to come back but the quality and service was excellent, only cost me £30.
Came back with protective lables on it etc, that were easily pulled off. Looks like brand new again.
(Tho in true form for my universals, the hinge is already clicking as bit)

Try here: http://america.htc.com/about/contact-us.html
thanks. screen alignment issue with tytn
HTC America won't help you... sorry!
seriously??? what do i need to do!
Assuming you've got a TyTN, first call the reseller you bought the phone from. They should be able to help set this up for you. If your device needs service, it will be handled by HTC Europe, which means you'll have to ship it to Germany...
The only exception I can think of to this rule right now would be an 8525 purchased from Cingular (in which case you'd deal directly with Cingular for service).
unfortunately i bought it off of ebay. i'll try emailing HTC USA, maybe they can point me in the right direction. thanks.
Alas, this is the risk you take when buying from eBay... you're totally on your own...
Best of luck, but I can tell you others have tried only to be given the proverbial "deer in the headlights over the phone" -- "what's a TyTN..."
Yikes...
thanks. here's hoping for the best. i'll post my findings heh.
I have had the same problem, the only way to solve this problem is to go through HTC Europe as TyTn is intended for the European market, and take my word for it HTC UK is one of the most useless CS I've run into so far. Frankly speaking they are the reason i wouldn't be buying another ****y HTC device. Have had enough after Jamin and TyTn, seriously they are ripping people off. Try symbian for a change. Anyway I think if you know anyone in Europe, you can send them the device and they can take the device in to a service center and get a replacement for you. In my case my online vendor was helpful enough to get the device repaired. HTC America will simply tell you to contact HTC Europe.

Feedback for the HTC Europe support

Hello everyone,
I had the famous "Screen freezing/not responding and start menu clicking" problem.
I called by phone to the support in the UK and was told that I need to ship it for repair.
I was a bit afraid to do so in the beginning but after getting my mobile back home (After less then a week!!!), I must let you all know that their support is GREAT!
Not only that they replace the MB but also replaced the bezel that was a bit peeled.
The email response and the phone response was perfect - There is a guy named Abdul Ibrahim that was VERY helpful.
Bottom line, the phone was back and fixed perfectly in less then a week.
Cheers and well done!
Eldi
Would that be a completely new phone, refurbished?
Have you IMEI changed?
Where do you live? UK?
And most importantly:
did you need to produce any proof of purchase? I've got none thanks to crappy Ebay seller...
I had a very good experience with them. I had opened my phone (so warranty normally void) upgraded ROM but they still fixed it and shipped back with 2 day shipping from UK to US.
I personally give them an A+
They changed the Main board and the Bezel.
The phone is the same only with a new IMEI.

Make sure if you do not live in Europe that you declare to customs BEFORE sending it!

No need for a proof of purchase as the warrenty covers 1 year.
The P3600 is not out for more then a year so you are automatically covered!

If the IMEI is different , its not the same phone!
They send you a refurbished phone , or a new one.

How could they change the motherboard and keep the same IMEI?
I would have thought that once he said the phone had its MB replaced you had in fact already been told that the IMEI was different.
Am I wrong?
A phone with a different MB _IS_ a refurbished phone, isn't it?
Sorry about that, you are right.

[Q] Warranty outside Play Store = impossible!

Ok, I'm going to explain to you the situation I'm in and hopefully someone might have an answer for this.
My audio port is broken. I.e: No audio is coming out anymore on the left side of my headset. Tested multiple headsets with multiple cables. All the same problem. Cleaned out the audio port, didn't fix it.

All this has taken me about 2 weeks and I'm still left with a broken audio port. Seriously, what use do you have for European warranty law if no-one will accept the device? So, what are my options here? I know I could just drive to Germany (500km) or ship it to family in Germany and have them bring it to Media Markt but God knows how long that will take.. I'm really looking for a solution that doesn't require a 4 hour drive or a month of waiting. Also, I don't want to void my existing warranty (for what it's worth) so taking it to some shady cellphone repair shop is a no-go.
So what are my options? I'm starting to get really annoyed. (In b4 "buy a bluetooth headset", I'm really starting to consider that one actually but I don't want to give up my good Sennheiser...)
Hi,
I live in France and i already helped a belgian guy buying his device from the french play store. If you need my adress for the customer service, i'll be glad to help you ! About re-expedition from France to Belgium, shipping cost for a tracked parcel is 16€ something via Colissimo. He received it in a few days and was very happy to finally get his device !
Do you speak french ? f you need my help, just PM me so we can talk by phone

Sorry, somehow i skipped that part ! So this isnt that complicated for you :
1) You contact the play store where it has been bought from ? You bought it from a play store right ? You're not saying this.
2) You initiate the product replacement from them
3) They will send the replacement to the german (or whatever) adress. With this replacement comes a pre-paid stamp to send your faulty phone to Poland. I'm pretty sure you can use this stamp in every european country.
4) Your family send the package back to you for a small cost.
Complicated, but thats your call i guess ...
