Streaming radio.

I want to stream radio to my Vario II.
Is there anything out there that will play .ram files? I know RealPlayer do not do a player for WM5's, so is there anything else?
Also, would this be frounded upon by the T-Mobile contract? Or are people streaming stuff without any warnings.

Not sure what files it plays, but resco radio is a very good radio streaming application. Check link below:

Would this be frowned upon by T-mobile? Probably, but not received any complaints yet.

My Vario 2 came with that kinda odd 'streaming media' program, which fires up when I load an .sdp file... Maybe you could try download the ram file, renaming it to sdp and tapping on it to open it? That may work...
I know TCPMP doesn't support the RTSP protocol, but there's the off-chance that it's not an rtsp stream of course. Not too likely though. I have the installer for the last version of Real Player before they went over to exclusively provide their software for Nokias, I could chuck it your way if you want (I've had mixed success getting it to work though).

My favourite radio uses this kind of files only, thus making all other options (Resco, TPCMC, etc.) useless.

I have discovered many radio streams now require the latest flash to be installed but when I install flash 7 it breaks the work I've done with tcpmp and the flash plugins for youtube. Any way to avoid this situation? I have both Opera mobile and IE installed on my 8525. is there a way to allow opera to use flash 7 while maintaining my settings in ie for youtube. Thanks in advance for your help.

Listen to http streams

The following URL opened in Windows XP (Mediaplayer) plays a stream of a popular Dutch radio station:
http://talpa-asx.streaming.is.nl/streaming.asp?P=40003&Q=HQ
Unfortunately, this doesn't work with the streamplayer that comes with the P3600. Are there any other mediaplayers that would play this stream?

Oh, this is payware, right? No problem, but I would like to try it to be sure it works with the streams I want to use.

im using dopod wwe original rom wm6 and the link works perfect for me, window media open the link

You are right, clicking the link works for me too. I tried to enter the URL directly when I tried to listen to this station for the first time!

Holy crap guys.
Found this works from trying a site on another thread.
I went to http://bol.cnet.com on the browser
then i clicked on "download today's podcast" just after the little paragraph, a box popped up saying it's "opening podcast.cnet.com...." then bam it starts playing RIGHT AWAY in the built in music player!
And no, it doesn't download and play it, it streams it, you can fast forward to the end right away.
I tried it with the other episodes, works just awesome!

Looks like ANY URL that points to a .mp3 when you click it, it will automatically play in the built in Music Player

Hold up - lemme test this as it is pertinent to my interests.
1) Went to mynorthwest.com to hear this TBTL show from Seattle I dig when the local talk radio is driving me mad and need a break
(show not live atm, so went to archives) Play now option doesnt work - I blame the pop up window they used.
The download it option - SUCCESS, streamed immediately.
2) Went to thestreamcenter.com/PDA/?state=MO (which is bookmarked on the Wing so I can play local radio on demand). Tried 4 different stations - webkit downloaded the asf file and when clicked to play was given a "Cannot Play Video" error. FAILURE.
3) Clicked a random radio station link from the above site, only showed the giftwrapped ? for where flash is needed. I blame the webdesigner for not being mobile compatible raather than android on that one.
So since your d/l of a podcast worked, and my d/l of a saved program worked: I see podcast capability. I have to yet been able to get live streaming audio, someone figure this out and post their results.

I tried to listen to a shoutcast stream and it said size couldn't be determined... I don't think we will see it integrated into the browser... I think it is gonna be a standalone streamer for shoutcast style streams.

I cant stream with Jinzora and it uses lots of different methods like m3u, pls, ask, ram, and xspf. Does anyone know how to get these filetypes to stream to the g1?

I just tried this also and it works perfect. Now only if there was a way to save some songs

I'm not happy that radioio.com/io2go doesnt stream, even though they have mp3 format option.

could someone try this site for me please? this will play a big part in me buying a g1 if it can stream from thus radio station although it uses a pop up amd is live so doubt it will work :/

I've had my g1 for 2 days, figured out last night that it wont stream. uh why ?
my crappy old htc s620 was a stream machine , live streams podcasts anything. So is there any update on this ?

don't diss the dash lol, I'm gonna keep my eye out for streaming web sites, a thread with compatible links would be great. there are plenty of apps like "sreamfurious" and "a online radio" that can stream anything you want.

try pressing the stream links with a trackball, dont ask why cos i have no idea why it works, but it does

I read a comment by a user that he was able to use Opera to stream flash directly to Core player...he does not remember how he set that up if even had to....anyone has any ideas of this?

while coreplayer does infact support flash i dont think there is a program to do this... There use to be something called FlashVideoBundle that worked with PIE and TCPMP with certain sites. Which was one of my favorite programs. You could also download the videos. This was about 3-4 years ago. While the idea is great idk why nobody has tried this again.

Yes. TCPMP successfully streamed a .flv to my phone via wifi from my NAS media center. you just need the correct address of the serve and loc. of the .flv you want to stream, should work fine

Do you think it would be possible to stream South Park Episodes from South Park Studios for example or maybe from VEOH.com?

umm, it MIGHT be possible if you know the exact location of the .flv you want to stream. Its usually difficult seeing as how you dont exactly know the web developers method for cataloging content.
for example last nite I tried to stream a flash video from ebaumsworld and while the addy I plugged into tcpmp was correct, it only showed me the folder tree and didnt allow access to subfolders. try it, its neat

I would like to listen to online stream radio.

For the ram file,

For the asf file,

Anyone know how to get the phone to player?
What kind of app do i need?
I have tried realplayer and rockplayer, but they could not open them.

[Q] Can't play live radio on .asx files
Hey guys,
Anyone have an idea/app that can play an .asx streaming radio?
used to be able to do it with the hero from a link in yourmuze.fm but since changed to the SG nothing works.
Tried several live streaming radio apps like "A online radio". Also obviously tried just using the link in a the stations web page and that opens the video player that can't handle the file format.
any ideas?

Sorry guys, my stupidity, I wan't straming from the mobile site of Yourmuze.fm ie //m.yourmuze.fm but from the main site and therefore the files being streamed were't set up for the mobile / android. now it all works fine, you just link your radio station stream ip address and the yourmuze server digests it for you format and download speed requirement.

The iphone has the Tunein radio app that allows playback of a huge number of internet radio stations and the ability to record them.
Is there an app like this for the Galaxy S ?

i usually do this on my PC in winamp
but i guess there could be times when you listen to something good on the phone and you want to grab it
it'll be hady to have an app to do this

I'm using An Online Radio, which I also used on my nexus one.
But on the SGS, I cannot manage to input the url of my favorite radio station.
If I try to search it from aor, it's not that effective, so I would prefer to just copy the radio link.

i save the links for my favorite streaming radio stations somewhere in my phone so that when i need to save them in a new app i just copy them and paste them. much easier than trying to type them out if you cant find them in the apps list
