Hello well I just reset the phone and everything is working except the camera. I Tryed pressing the button on the side to activate it and going into it on programs and bolth of them had the same responce. the "camera name" pop'd up on the top left and the screen got brighter but nothing more. im not sure what to do to fix it this problem.

If hard reset does not work,try re flash your ROM. If that still does not work, send the device to the service centre for diagnosis.

did any of you ever experience this problem with the camera?
I have an MDAII upgraded to: Rom 1.60.00WWE; radio 1.10.00; ext 1.60.50
Pressing the camera button the ppc freezes and gives me this error: "failed to initialize camera. please reset the hardware. 36001:100:2"
So I soft reset, Then press the button and the camera still doesnt' work (though it's not freezed). I have to soft reset once more to have the camera full function.
Is it a software or hardware problem?

had this very problem combined with the speaker not working at all and the headset not working either.
for me it seemed to be a faulty connection somewhere on the device, because when i performed some percussive maintenance on it (i gave it a firm tap on the side. Be careful though!!) it worked like a charm again, and has done for more then a week now.
Maybe you can send it back to your provider and have it replaced or repaired (as i probably will somewhere next week)

This morning I gave a soft tap :twisted: on the side and and the camera then worked without any problem, for the first time!
I guess we both must have some kind of masochist device 8)
I'm a bit puzzled, and I don't know wether to send the "baby" to get reapired, or not... If I do, it'll surely come back not before one mounth
Afterall, I don't use the camera so much...
I think I'll be trying the tapping exercise for a week, then decide.

I have a tmobile MDA (wizard). I attempted to install some software on it, but disconnected and rebooted before it was complete (it appeared to be just spinning).
Now after a soft reset, screen shows only 'Windows Mobile' after booting, and none of the buttons work and I can't advance from this screen.
Is there a way to hard reset that doesn't involve using the OS (ie, I can't click on anything because it's not getting to that point).
Also in this state activesync isn't detecting device.

Hold down (and keep holding) the camera button while depressing the reset button. Hopefully it boots into a tri-color screen. If so, plug it into the USB port and, at the bottom of the screen, it should display "USB". If that happens, flash it with a *known good rom*, such as a stock T-Mobile rom. Don't try to be clever, the object is to get the phone working. Once the flash has started, *get up and walk away* for 15 or 20 minutes. Don't check in on it, leave it alone, It takes some time. When you hear it's little chime, it's done, rebooted and ready. If any of the above doesn't happen or the flash outright fails, then you may have trashed it permanently. It doesn't sound like it's beyond hope yet, however.
i have the wizard and im having the same problem after installing a ROM from this website...it just goes to the windows mobile screen with the numbers then shuts off...id really like to save my phone is there anything else i can try because that hard reset thing isnt working

Well same thing happened to me a few days back.. I had to Cold Reset [which restored it to factory defaults], but hey I got it working again..
Press Communication Button [Top Left] and Record Button [Top Right] at the same time and use the stylus to soft reset..
You will get a black screen, asking you to press "Send" to reset to "Factory defaults"
Press "Send".
Hopefully you should get your MDA working again ...
I read the "Above" in the HTC Wizard Service Manual [PDF] on the *last page* under the "Cold-reset" Section..
For some reason my Wizard G3 will not go into bootloader mode, any ideas would be much appreciated...
For clarification, it is stuck at the Hard reset screen asking me to press send. When pressed nothing happens. I have tried key combinations and the battery tricks. Any help out of this would be great. Thanks.

After a bit of toying, playing with the battery, and a few more shots at it this morning, the phone successfully reset into boot-loader mode. Next step is killing me though.
Despite using the stock RUU wizard and trying another few ROMs, I can not get the phone to get out of the "Press Send to restore factory defaults" screen. Any ideas would still be appreciated.

maybe you need to get it works i think your MDA is a Second hand very cheap becasue of that.!
yes i also have this problem with my k-jam it was on bootloader mode now after the hardreset its stuck on press send botton to default other to quit but infact its not do yes or other??

all of a sudden my camera has vanished.
touchflo 3d shows the camera tab but the icon in the tab does not work.
the camera shortcut no longer exists in programs and is not an option to add to the start menu either.
it's gone.......
"Camera" is still in the windows file but nothing happens when i tap it.
anything that uses the camera just doesn't do anything when i tap the relevant "camera" button.
I am using the newest stock ROM from HTC and have just reflashed it to make sure that's OK.
It's just gone?!?!

Please try the following:
Download and install Advanced Configuration Tool
Open the program after installing to your PDA, and try changing one of the camera settings Encode photos in portrait mode to no and hopefully this will enable your camera again.
Perform a Soft Reset and then press the camera button a few times and hope it works.
Have you tried a Hard Reset?

i had that problem also
sometime it worked sometimes not, and even when it worked it didn't do well( no focus and errors)
after a while my screen stoped working (just like the camera)
they had to change the motherboard, atleast that was writen on the warranty
i think maybe u have the same problem
HTC UK Service seem to be great. Rang them about this yesterday and they are collecting the phone this morning.
Fingers crossed they can fix it!
Worth noting that the phone had also started turning itself off randomly and not able to turn back on until the battery had been removed for 30 minutes...?!

I hope to find someone helping me to solve my "little big problem" :
when a call comes in, and my treo usually vibrates in interval, (i mean it vibrates, stops, and vibrates again) it keeps vibrating until i accept or decline it.
it is not a hardware issue, because it does vibrate with interval when receiving a new sms.
it cannot a slightly problem with the software, because the problem exists too, after a hard-reset is done.
the problem was solved ago, when changing the ringtone, but after it came back, no change in the preferences solved my problem, and i began to get frustrated...
the palm support told me to send my palm to their service center, but my palm is bought new at ebay, so i cannot verify the date i bought it...
i think, because the problem was solved once, it can get solved twice within software, but how?
maybe if i would reflash the windows mobile system... actually it is original, no flash was done on the device.
when reflashing it could solve my problem, it would be great, if someone could help me flashing it, because i never flashed a winmob device...
i would need a original untouched ROM, if possble too...
or does someone have another idea? please help me!
Quite a bit simpler than that. All you need to do is a hard reset.
Remeber to backup everything you want. I would suggest activesync, or if you have sprite backup, backup everyting except sysem settings (documents and contacts, appointments...)
Once it is all backed up, simply hold down the red button on the front. While holding the red button, use stylus to reset phone. Then it will say reset? Press up on d-pad and you will be set.

Okay, finally i got a sollution without reflashing the device!
The combination with HookMGR (nedded for next)
And VAlert 2.21 let me configure the vibrating problem...
So, it's running all fine now

Do you have a download location for vAlert 2.21? I have a Treo Pro that I am trying to reconfigure the length of time it vibrates. It stays on continually when I receive a phone call and it is really loud in meetings.
