Tried to get started with narrowing down which app causes it but the thread fizzled. I ended up flashing to a newer DCD release and then only installed the bare bones apps I needed to get by and it's working fine so far.

I have been having the similar problems. I can answer if I hold the button down a really long time or hold the slide at the end until the screen changes to the phone app. Usually I get a missed call though. I initially thought it may have been S2U2 or S2UP but after using and uninstalling both no resolution. I got no fixes or ideas as of yet, just uninstalling apps and seeing how it responds. On a positive note taking off all these apps has increased my standby memory considerably
So what you guys are saying is that out of nowhere your phones won't answer a call?
Or did you like flash a ROM and then wasn't able to pick up a call?
One thing that helped me was to change all ringtones to WMA on DCD's ROM's because MP3's dont seem to play all the time for a weird reason.
Also I changed the settings on my phone. In the the EPST I changed a setting in the Modem menu. I changed the Slot Cycle Index to "0" instead of "2" and it answers the calls faster.
These are just some ideas as I really dont know what issues you are having.

Ultimate fix for me (experiencing non-answerable calls) was a hard reset. I'm blaming the AdvancedConfig tool or some setting it exposed to me to tweak.
i've had the same thing happen in the past so i would be interested if this gets figured out. i never figured out what it was, but since I back up nightly w/ sprite backup, i just restored the most recent registry backup and it took care of the problem both times it happened.
same happened to me - i couldnt answer a single call and had to call back whoever rang me up.
REALLY annoying.
i repaired it very easily, however.
i um...accidentally.. dropped my phone off a roof and the new one answers calls very well!
this also solved all the other problems i had with my earlier phone.
go figure!
I am having the same problem...hit the green talk button or the answer button and nothing happens. I have to call everyone back...so what I am hearing is that it is the advance config program that is causing it and a hard reset is the only option to fix it?

Every so often, I will make a call and either try to end the call, or try to enter numbers in, and nothing will happen. Changing the volume doesn't work either. No matter how many times I press the end key, nothing happens.
Then, about 20 seconds later,l the phone will respond, and the call will end.
Do I need to do a warrany exchange?
Oh my god Harlen, I'm having the EXACT same issues. It either won't end the call, or I cant pick up a call. Also sometimes I cant pick up a call waiting call, and sometimes when the call finally ends I get a loud busy signal. Maybe its a problem specific to owners in CT
I thought it was specific to the new ATT Rom that I flashed to last week, so I flashed yesterday to Black 3.0.1, and it does the same thing.
Hmmm. I thought it was the new ROM too. What programs do you have installed. Maybe we can find our common problem app.

All we have in common is bandswitch... hmmm. I dont know what to say. All I know is if these issues keep up, I'm headed for another hard reset.
What programs are you running? Always looking for new things to run.
I will try uninstalling BandSwitch to see if that does anything.

I'm currently using DCD's GPS rom along with the 3.27 radio, so most everything hogging memory is killed off, GPS is working and for the most part I haven't changed the Registry or installed many apps.
The problem: When I receive calls from friends they often complain that they have to wait 4-5 rings before I answer. Typically I see the phone call and answer immediately, and even when this happens I get the complaint again: "Why does it take you so long to answer your phone?"
I have created several small, personalized Ring tones, in the memory area of 50-70k. I've heard that full sized mp3's can take a moment to load and subsequently this creates a problem...but in this case I wouldn't expect it to be.
Does anyone have any suggestions or advice? I'm considering calling Verizon, who is my subscription carrier, but I'd prefer to try to figure it out.

I have this problem with Sprint too. I agree - it's EXTREMELY frustrating. You can try lowering the Slot Cycle Index (SCI) on your phone, but I already did this and it didn't help much at all.
I just posted a similar question, do u have data? i noticed if i turn off data, it answers the call much faster, then if i turn it back on, it goes back to the same slow answer problem.

I haven't heard of the cycle changing you spoke of, how do I go about doing that? Or is it of no real purpose?

from all i know, its mostly all talk...no change with the cycle stuff
I had this problem as well. It was frustrating enough to cause me to hard reset. After the reset, calls answer right away.
I just bought my xv6900 2 days ago and i noticed that each time my phone goes idle as it goes to sleep and when someone text messages me i dont get a notification until i turn on the phone again with the button on top of the phone. and also sometimes i dont receive a call and when i next turn back on my phone it says missed call..
does anyone perhaps have the same problem or know whats wrong with my phone?

i have yet to install any other apps that didnt come with the phone. and i read that forum link u gave me, it doesnt seem to be my battery because i know my battery was at 80% when this happend. its such a nice phone but this really pisses me off. wish there was a solution.
I am having the same issue. I called verzion and they know nothing about it. Everyone who has this please call. I really like this phone but if it doesnt work like a phone its useless.
I've seen same problem on a Sprint Touch so it's not specific to Verizon.
I had 2 Sprint Touch phones side by side and one would not wake up from suspend for an incoming text or phone call. The second Touch worked properly and they had the exact same configuration. No clue why some of the HTC Vogue's have this issue and others don't.
I would call Verizon and ask for a swap if they ignore your problem.
Well I did a hard reset and it worked great for few days! Now back to normal.. looks like it is going back to verizon. Not sure what to get though.
Got the same problem but some days it works fine and some days it doesnt. I througth i had to much stuff saved or downloaded on the phone but when i removed programs that i downloaded that i never used it didnt fix anything so im puzzled like everyone else here.

I have had mine for several months now, i just had to do a hard reset recently and my phone has done the same exact thing ever since. I thought maybe it was a problem with polling. I did notice this time I hard reset, verizon did not have me set my A key, instead they changed something on their side and had me do a 228 reprogram. So i wonder if something is being changed via this new method ( the guy told me he just figured out he could do it this way and not require me to set my akey ).

I've searched about every forum I could find, but m problem is:
I have the x1.
Installed the tweak, Spb Mobile shell, Fring, Slide2unlock
I have the newest rom update.
Every time I get a call OR when I make a call my sound automatically goes through the speaker. I don't want that.
I want to decide if and when the call is going through te speaker.
I disabled s2u but it did not help.
Am I missing something?
Please do help.
I did a hard reset today.
then afterwards I found the problem to be solved.
but afterwards some of my previous settings were gone
so I have restored to before.
I still have the same problem for which I now know is clearly a software issue.
Could it be caused by slide2unlock?

Well I'd hard reset and slowly install programs and change settings until you find what is causing the problem.
think that is the only option left.

the basic setting were completel different than now.

It seems there is an update of the ROM availlable.
BUT NOT FOR T-mObile phones...
Anyways.
they also stated one option: hard reset.

I've had my leo for a while now and I love the phone with one major exception.....
Sometimes when I call a contact nothing happens then after an eternity, 2minutes, the call is placed. I have good network connection and have tried it with and without 3G.
When this error is present I also get a problem whereby I can't hang up.
This seems to be a software problem. I'm on the T-mobile network in the UK. Does anyone else have the same problem?
I couldn't find anything on the forums. I've tried stripping programs/software off and have tried both hard and soft resets. The problem appeared to go away after a hard reset but then appear again weeks later for no apparent reason.
I have the original ROM version (1.43.110.2) and no significant mod's apart from Cookie home screen tabs and a few simple registry tweaks.
Any help guys, I'm contemplating taking the phone back but will I just end up with a reconditioned model? Mine's in mint condition and I don't want to end up with some banged up phone.
Hi, Did the phone work before the reg tweaks and software installation? A new T-Mobile UK ROM was published on the 15th, it might be an idea for you to flash your phone, test it then tweak, if it doesn't work after you flash it then speak to T-Mobile. If it workls after you flash it but not after you tweak then there's your problem Here is the link to HTC's UK web site with the download. Mine does the same thing. Also mine also freezes when I get incoming calls. After I talk to the other person, I can't hang up. It's frozen. I have to hit the reset button on the back or take out the batter. I have two HD2's T-Mobile US Versions on release day.
I did do some HD2 tweaks to turn on the LED when I get messages though.
I'm going to reset both devices and see what happens. Maybe the old softwares don't work on the HD2 even though it's for WinMo 6.5.
I really hope it work, because I hate to return the unit. It's a beautiful hardware.

I didn't have the problem before installing software/tweaks; but then again it was only probably a couple of days before I played around with it. After I did a hard reset and reinstalled some software it was working fine for at least a week before the problem re-occured, which seemed quite strange. Today the phone is working fine but will undoubtedly return, the fault seems entirely intermittent.
Daily driver: I also have the same problem when recieving calls. I'll let you know how I get on.
Same problem here, my phone is 3 days old and I have to remove the battery to end most calls, did a master reset and thought that fixed it. Couple hours later it was back at it. I'm using a tmobile hd2. This seems to be a very common problem, hope they come out with a patch soon..

I am using it and i also have the same problem with the calls. This issue manifested before and also after BSB instalation.

Try un-ticking "Tap Time"
it seems its a network related problem...
sim related...
got to ask for super sim..
like the data connection stops calls..
with a super sim the problem is much smoller.. :?

I'm using GSM HD2 Europe.
This problem start occurring after a while when I was using 29 Aug Energy rom.
After a reset the phone work ok for few hours.
When to problem start, the send physical button does not work.
if I want to make a call I must use the "phone" from the start menu.
When I try to end the call, the phone software stop responding, but the operation system keeps working.
In order to end the call I must remove the battery.
I when back to the original rom 1.66 from HTC site.
the problem still exist but less frequently.
(by the way the original rom work much slower then the energy custom rom.)
I’m wasting so much time on this phone, and I’m on the verge of giving up .
I will be happy to get some help.

If you do not have BsB tweaks, but used tweak #44 in "Leo's tips and tweaks", this can cause problems for some.

I found the reason for this problem. (at least for the specific problem I had)
I'm using resco keyboard.
if I leave the Caps lock on after using the keyboard, then the "Send" HW button does not work, and you can't hangup calls.
by opening the keyboard again and releasing the caps lock the all work fine again.
I've also had this problem... Made me consider selling this otherwise great HD2, sometimes even running it over with a car
When I want to make a call, phone just won't dial - it freezes, but everything else works fine (only "phone app" freezes). So, I give up the call. Few minutes later, it unfreezes, and phone starts calling. Usually, from my pocket. Also, after a call, I can't hang up. I often ended up with removing the battery.
I tried everything...
Restarting the phone makes everything ok, but only for a few minutes.
Installing different app, tweaks, etc - nothing.
Removing everything and returning the phone to factory settings - nothing.
Then, I remembered to disable Sense. That was it. I have used the phone without Sense for months, and it didn't happen. Not even ONCE!
Can anybody here do anything with this?
I still want to use Sense because it looks awsome, way better than Windows interface...
You could try a custom rom. I have been using Dutty's latest and greatest without any of the problems you're describing.
