I just flashed to DCD 2.1.0 Rom last night to activate the GPS etc. I did both options on *228. My problem is that my phone wont connect to EVDO in areas where I normally always have EVDO (aka my house). I am on the alltel network and in my home area. I am also using 3.27.00 Radio. Any help would be much appreciated!!
Here is your answer need to put ESN HEX in HDR Password Section Looking at this thread will give you instructions for this.

I have the vogue (cdma) sprint version on a different carriers network. It works ok but reception has always been poor and I drop alot of calls. I do have my current carriers prl so at least its going after the right towers. My provider is going to release this phone and if I could get a hold of one for 10 minutes I could grab the qcn file off of it and use qpst rf nv manager to write it too my phone. Am I way out in left field on this one? Would this improve my reception? I believe the qcn file tells the phone when to hand off to different cell towers and how to do it.
Nick
have you tried switching to roam only if you have the new rom here is the attatched reg hack cab... install to the device and wait about a minute then soft reset then it should be an option in your
Start>Settings>Phone>Options>
roaming settings... try roaming and see if you get better service
I will give that a shot thanks.
I recently used QPST to enable faster agps locks. By the way I have an alltel htc vogue flashed to cricket. After I used qpst I no longer have evdo. The phone is only working in 1x. Any suggestions?
I don't know the answer, I have the same question. EVDO has not yet rolled out in my area, but last week I was in an area with it 3 times. My phone is set up for hybrid reception, and previously automatically switched over. I notice last week that to get it to go on the EVDO network I had to change the settings to EVDO only. I don't know if QPST is what changed things, but it appears something did.
Thanks for the reply. I have never had a problem, now all of a sudden I cant get evdo. Without it I have no internet, no pic message. This sucks
Maybe it changed your prl is the only thing i can think, try doing an ota update. Or manually adding your areas evdo prl.
Ok all set for somereason it changed my epst settings. So I went back in and manually changed them back. We are all good now. Hey Brute is your vogue on cricket? I am looking for a new rom, any suggestions?

Hi all,
I have a little problem with my PPC-6800. I am currently outside of my home area (Milwaukee) and am in Des Moines, IA for an extended period of time. When I have the phone in hybrid mode, it only uses 1X outside of the Milwaukee Metro area. I know EVDO is available in this area since I can get it when I switch to EVDO only mode in the phone settings. I am running 6.5 if that matters and radio 3.35.04 and ROM 3.08.666.1. I downloaded the latest PRL from the internet too.
Thanks
fixed!
I reloaded the PRL I downloaded from the internet and now have EVDO working right!
Does anyone have the evdo settings for ntelos? whats the login information supposed to be [email protected]? I had a htc hero but it screwed up and started saying cellular south. If anyone could look in qpst it would be greatly appreciated! I switched phones and im trying to get evdo working. Thank you!
Do you mean MMS/WAP/BREW? there are no settings for EVDO, your PRL takes care of that. If it's really EVDO that doesn't work (only signal bars for 1X) check over at corolada
Cannot fix nTelos phones that switch to Cellular South!

You tried the PRI fix, didn't you?
Background: HTC Hero has two basic radios, Sprint, and Cellular South. All the minor regional CDMA telcos (nTelos, Apallacian, etc) have their own radios flashed over the Cellular South radios.
If you did the PRI fix, it reflashed the nTelos radio to the default Cellular South settings and locks the radio against changes.
Here's my tip from (bad) experience: Run the Sprint 1.56 RUU and pull the battery as soon as it erases the boot sector. Then head to your nearest nTelos store (preferrably a small one without a repair center or knowledgeable employees). Tell them your phone stopped working. They should give you a replacement. If they ask anything that sounds intelligent about what you were doing, tell them that you were excited about hearing that 2.1 was coming out, and you were checking PRL and firmware updates a couple times a day. Tell them that it looked like it was doing something, rebooted, and stopped working.
I'm still not sure if nTelos reps are extremely customer service oriented or have no clue, but this line of $#!+ seems to work with them.
yea, i meant the apn settings, doesn anyone have them by any chance?
I'm having a strange Evo radio issue.
This was my Evo until a week and a half ago when I got a NS4G and switched the Evo to my g/F's line, when I had it all was good.
The phone won't get a 3G connection with EvDO set to automatic. On this setting when I go in to debugging the phone shows EVDO as failed. However when I change the EVDO mode to HDR or CDMA HDR I will get 3G just fine, but I lose the cell control channel that rings the phone, gets text messages, cell location and network time.
I have tried updating the profile, re-activating, clearing the radio, different radio versions and ROMs all with the same result.
If you have a radio setting or tip of what else I can research or try I would appreciate it, thanks.
What is the command to access that feature again? I'm having the same problem.
